KOS-MOS Dream - Parasomnia

KOS-MOS was inside the Sky Breacher Dropship as it sped out of the hanger... she watched as the Great Fox scanned the derelict ship with a high intensity scan the bright blue light sweeping the ship from fore to aft.

She watched as the Dropship entered the aft hangar and Falco said "I dunno this is making my feathers itch... somethin isn't right... this is wrong..." KOS-MOS was for once agreeing with the annoying bird...

She said "listen once we enter take the dropship and head out and stay on standby... I want you on station if this goes bad..." they agreed with her and Falco said "hey just don't get yourself killed... I will stick around and keep an eye out... just... be careful I know we aren't the best of friends... But stay safe..." the tone in Falco's voice showed great concern...

The bay opened and they saw a few vehicles floating and a large tank wedged against a door... as they walked out into the hangar... everything went silent... the dropship sped off in silence as they inspected the hangar... It was very utilitarian... not fancy or pretty to look at... this was a warship... an old one...

KOS-MOS saw a truck with deep gouges and burns in it's hull and a shattered windscreen... it was wedged into the far wall... she walked up to the mangled tank and cut through it with her R-Blade... then they entered... the message was still playing over the comms.

As they moved deeper inside they saw a terminal which she activated... it told the service record of Spartan 117... the only survivor onboard... she felt like she was being watched... by something... her sensors detected a presence in the ship... it was a machine like herself... but significantly more powerful and advanced...

She and the others finally came upon the cryo storage area after heading down a broken elevator shaft and saw a single tube active... and a pedestal nearby... she walked up to the pedestal and felt something she said "who are you?" as Krystal walked up to the tube... suddenly a blue woman appeared in the pedestal and said "I am Cortana... UNSC AI 0452-9... who... what are you?"

KOS-MOS said to her "I am KOS-MOS and you... oh my god... you're dying... your rampant... and... oh god..." she panicked as she linked Cortana into her neural net... there was more than enough room for her... but she was also linked to the man in the pod...

Cortana said "amazing you are very powerful... thank you... but... what... I feel different..." KOS-MOS said "that is because I just allowed you to achieve metastability now whats going on?" Cortana showed KOS-MOS as Falco said over the comms "uhh guys? We got company... and they are NOT happy... get the hell off that ship... NOW!!!"

KOS-MOS looked at the others as the pod began to open... then Krystal jumped and went a bit blank looking at the hulking soldier... she muttered "six?" before snapping out of it.... Then said "come on we need to move... I sense something coming... something dark..." KOS-MOS DSSS lit up as she saw 3 large ships in very close proximity and over a hundred contacts moving towards their position already on board...

Cortana briefed the master Chief and he looked at them before fixing his gaze on KOS-MOS and said "KOS-MOS... I saw you... this will have to wait..." he said in a stern and clearly battle hardened voice as he quickly moved out... they followed him... Falco said over the comms "uhh I got about 50 bogies on my ass... I can't get close with those ships nearby... the Great Fox is engaged with two of them... but the last one has you locked down tight..."

Cortana said "Well the dawn's weapons still work... lets see if we can give them a surprise..." they then came face to face with an alien that was 8" tall and had ornate shielded armor and a plasma rifle... it had four jaws and serpentine skin... it roared and drew it's plasma sword... and charged at KOS-MOS.

She quickly jumped over it and fired her R-Cannon into it several times... its shields glowed and failed.... It taunted her and charged again... she activated her R-Sword weapon and then slashed at the alien it blocked her with it's sword as she punched hard into its chest then performed a side kick sending it crashing into the wall... she then leapt into the air and brought her blade down on it cutting it clean in half... they then proceeded up the elevator shaft.... Before it came crashing down... once they reached the top they saw a bunch of bird like aliens and some stocky short ones with methane tanks.... All were armed...

They did not hesitate... they cut loose into the enemies with their weapons and cut them down with ease... then entered the bridge... Cortana opened the shutters on the windows... and they saw a large ship... it looked like a whale with prongs... it was beautiful but was clearly dangerous... it's shields were up... and it was moving closer... outside they saw the great fox shred the first ship... as the second fired a volley of plasma projectiles at the Great Fox... they hit it's shields... the Chief watched as Cortana tried to launch a SHIVA missile at the enemy it would not fire...

Cortana then said "we need to launch it manually... we need to head outside..." KOS-MOS nodded and said "alright lets go..." she was interrupted by two boarding craft piercing the hull of the ship... pouring xenomorphs into the bridge... flanking them on both sides... Fox yelled "FUCK! These bastards don't quit..." Cortana said "what do you expect... they are the covenant" they fired into the enemies as they took fire from all sides... KOS-MOS deployed her chain guns and jumped down and unloaded into them as she ran and jumped off the walls from point to point...

blue and purple blood splattered the deck as she shredded them... once the noise stopped she then said "I have eliminated the enemy units... now lets go." Cortana was beyond impressed... and said to her "glad your on our side.." they moved and fought through waves of covenant before reaching the airlock.... As they moved outside.... They saw the battle raging... and the Master Chief ran towards the control panel with Fox as KOS-MOS and Krystal and Slippy covered them...

they activated the launch sequence as the missile locked into postion... but one of the locks jammed... the enemy ship was getting closer and she detected it charging a massive plasma beam system on it ventral section... she then ran to the missile and kicked the lock into place....

The missile fired and impacted the ship... but did not destroy it...

KOS-MOS then decided she had had enough... she activated her tertiary weapon system... large wings appeared on her back... and emmitted a blue light... as did the emitters...

they all watched in horror as the alien ship glowed a bright red... the heat was enormous... as the ship was about to fire KOS-MOS beat it to the punch...a massive bust of energy and heat flared from the wings cutting into the hull beneath her... and two massive beams of light fired from her shoulders and struck the ship dead center... cutting it clean in half from stem to stern... as it blew to pieces the remaining ship... heavily damaged, entered hyperspace...

Falco then said "HOLY FUCK!!! that... just happened... didn't it... hold on I am coming to pick you up..." T-ELOS then spoke over the comms "well they ran when they saw that... something about the fury of the gods... and some bullshit... excellent work Kosy come on back... we need to have a talk with the Chief"

The dropship hovered a few feet off the hull as they boarded it... after they returned to the Great Fox they explained the situation to Cortana and the Master Chief... though KOS-MOS knew why Krystal thought he was this "six" indivdual... another timeline.... One that never happened because of Zarathustra...

KOS-MOS' Dream had just turned into reality...
