1 lie is all it took
So you really don't want to read about my life so I'll keep this short. I'm still writing our bright future I actually have the next two parts written out but I don't like how the second one turned out so I keep putting it off (I'm still gonna post it) but that doesn't mean I'm not writing still. This stars my sona phase, I know the end part is unconventional but I figure it allows you to better understand the characters through conversation with myself.
So you really don't want to read about my life so I'll keep this short. This stars my sona phase, I know the end part is unconventional but I figure it allows you to better understand the characters through conversation with myself.
My heart raced. Every beat seemed to go by faster and faster. The sound of footsteps blending in almost perfectly. They came closer toward me, it had to be my captor.
Bound and gagged I was trapped on the same chair I had been tied to an hour ago. I struggled to try and make the rope any looser around my body even just enough to slide my arm out but I can't risk being seen.
"It's no use" a deep burly voice from behind me said. "You can't escape, but don't worry I'm going to untie you in a moment. Just after I give you this. It's going to make you a little drowsy." I felt something push into the skin on my neck. Undoubtedly a needle. I struggled helplessly to stop him from finishing the injection. "It's all over now." His cold raspy voice announced. "You deserve everything that's going to happen to you and I promise it's going to hurt." He cut the rope keeping me to the chair and like lightning I threw off the blindfold and remove the gag. I finally see my captor. He wore a black tuque that hid every trace of what I assume to be his thinning hair. He stared me down with his dark brooding eyes. His menacing smile told me how much he truly enjoyed me being in this condition. He had scars littering his otherwise perfectly tan skin, the most grotesque one being across his face.
"Why don't you stand and stretch? After sitting in that chair for so long I'm sure you're feeling stiff." My anger consumed me as I tried to lunge and attack him but my limbs had other plans. Falling flat on my face I cursed under my breath. I could no longer move my arms or legs. I was helpless once again. "Now that you can't move its time for the real fun to begin." He turned and walked towards the exit.
"Your going to hell for this!" I screamed at him as he was leaving.
"You don't get it do you? I'm the one who's innocent here, not you. All you are is an abomination, a hideous beast. People fear you, not because of how you look. They fear you more because of the countless innocent people you killed." He took a final step towards the door and started inputting some sort of password.
"You know." I said calmer now "people do fear me, but not the innocent. The guilty, they are the ones who truly fear me." He paused.
He Spoke softly to himself then into his walkie-talkie. "Our guest isn't very happy, why don't we entertain him?" A reply came but I couldn't recognize what it had said. "Affirmative, use tactic 017-B"
"Understood. Why don't you tell him the riddle after I release the gas." A clearer reply came this time. My arm twitched. The drug was wearing off.
"Will do." My captor finished putting in the code and left the room just before I pounced at him. After catching nothing but air I decided to use the time I had to search the room. The walls were grey and cracked, aside from the door and keypad a camera was hung from one no doubt to make sure I'm not escaping. A single circular speaker on the ceiling looked like it was taken from a school hallway. The floor was just like the walls, cold and cracked. The only other things were what had kept me bound to the chair, and the chair itself. A hissing noise could be heard but I couldn't find the source.
"Hello? Testing. Testing. One, two, three." The voice of man from before had come on over the speaker. "Ok you little monster, you have one chance to get out of here. I will speak to you a riddle, if you get it right I will then let you leave but if you get it wrong." He paused "if you were to get it wrong I'm going to kill you, right here. Do you accept?"
I stayed silent. To think it over. I had never been very good at riddles. If we're a riddle I had heard before I just might make it out of here alive. Is it safe to make my decision just on that one idea.
"I said, do you accept?" He was more stern this time. He wanted his answer.
I'd say no but there were now two things stopping me. The idea of freedom is too tempting and if I were to deny him he would probably just kill me here. "I accept." I finally announced.
"Good, and I promise I am a man of my word. If you guess correctly I will let you leave." He stopped to clear his throat. "The riddle is _ I'm your follower in the light, _
Yet I'm invisible in the night At various sizes I appear I won't harm you, have no fear What am I?
I spoke to myself "follower in the light, invisible in the night, different sizes, and it can't harm me." I stopped to think. "I know the answer." I said proudly.
"Really? Then do tell me, what is it?" He said slyly. He had something planned.
"You are a shadow."
"Correct, even if I did tell you the riddle wrong." My ears perked up.
"What do you mean you told it wrong?" I questioned.
"Well instead of saying *I won't harm you, have no fear * I was supposed to say ** I can harm you, I'm to be feared, ** My bad." He just shrugged it off.
"What do you mean? Shadows can't harm people." The room started to spin and my mind felt Clouded but I couldn't figure out why.
"Oh didn't you know? Shadows are just killers waiting for their time to strike." He was talking like I was a child but that wasn't the worst part. The worst of this situation was that I was actually believing what he was saying. "Okay you have fun with your new friends." He laughed as the speaker went dead. I turned around and I couldn't believe what I was seeing The shadows on the wall started moving and changing. They murmured amongst themselves.
"This is the one?" One spoke.
"Who will get this one?" another said.
"Why don't we all take turns?" A much younger sounding voice suggested.
"No, you guys never let me take a turn." A more feminine voice interjected.
"How about we get him together?" The original voice spoke. They muttered amongst themselves for a moment.
"We're going to have fun." They announced as they merged into one pure black figure.
"This can't be real, you can't be real, your just a shadow" I stuttered as I stumbled back.
It's pure black hand stretched out from the wall and grabbed my ankle. It's sharp black claws cutting into my flesh. It was as dark as midnight and seemed to destroy all light around it.
"I assure you I am very real." The sound of thousands of voices talking together frightened me. My heart sunk as blood started to leak from my wound. This was all real. I struggled to break his grip on my leg as the cold truth hit me. I was trapped here. With that thing.
"Now that's what I wanted to see." His laughter filled the room. "I told you we would have fun."
My ears were ringing, my head pounding, my vision blurred. The last thing I could see was the smile that crept across his face.
"Im not letting you off the hook, not even if you pass out." his insane laughter filled the room only to be drowned out by my screams as he tore the flesh on my legs, slowly making his way up my body.
My vision darkened, I blacked out.

???- listen to me when I say I get myself into these kinds of situations all the time. So don't worry. I knew what I was getting into when I became a "sword for hire". That's right I kill people for a living but not just anybody. I kill people who have committed crimes. I kill killers, terrorists, rapers, and on occasion robbers so your safe. Probably.
Me- our agreement was you could break the fourth wall to help me write and to tell them who you are. Do your job!
???- fine but I think everyone else would agree that your the real villain mr.writer-man.
Me- I can replace you in an instant if you don't tell them who you are.
???- fine, my name is *mumble* and I'm extremely tired of this guy who thinks he can tell me what to do.
Me-fine if your going to be that way *starts typing*
Phase-Hi my names phase and I'm powerless compared to the almighty God that writes my story.
Me-see was that so hard?
Phase-that was so uncool. Ugh, I think I have cancer now.
Me-really? Well that wouldn't have happened if you had just listened to me and done as I said.
Phase-fine I'll be a good little assassin.
Me-yah right.
Phase-well I was going to tell everyone how I ended up like that but I guess not.
Me-come on phase don't be like that
Phase-nope it's too late. Goodbye. *exits stage left*
Me-well I guess that means I'm done for now, I hope you enjoyed this. I'll be continuing to write this and what happened after phase blacked out.
