Vinnie and Modo get into a bit of a situation after Throttle and Charley leave for a mission when Vinnie's bravado gets on the gray mouse's nerves.
"Ma-cheese-mo"
"Talk about a look for you, Charley-girl! I mean... hubba-hubba!"
Vinnie's mouth hung open as he observed Charley in a black leather jacket, leather pants that flared out at the heels, a pair of black hightops and a pink blouse that sank a little lower than she was used to wearing. Her hair was pulled back and she lowered her sunglasses to look at the white furred Martian.
"Eat your heart out, Olivia Newton-John." She said before blowing a bubble from the gum in her mouth and popping it."
Vinnie's smile remained static as he responded; "I have no idea what you're talking about." He said.
"It's from a movie, you idiot." Charley answered. "I think I took it to a whole new level with this disguise though."
"Whatever you wanna call it, it's got the a-ok from me!"
Charley rolled her eyes. "You are encouragable. You really need to teach him some manners, Modo."
Modo, standing behind Vinnie immediately brought his hands down onto his bro's shoulders, making Vinnie grunt under the forced weight pushed upon them. "Yes ma'am, I do try. But can't deny the boy likes what he sees."
"You two make sure the place is in one piece when we get back." Throttle; the third of the mice stepped forward, running a cleaning cloth over his glasses. "Remember the last time? I'm still finding root beer splashed in the oddest places."
"Again with the root beer?" Vinnie sighed. "Look I explained how sorry I was, I didn't realize how much pressure that keg had built up."
"Yeah, especially after riding it home from an hour trip on a motorcycle. I'm glad it waited until it got here before it exploded."
Wordlessly, Vinnie shrugged and passed off an innocent smile. Modo interjected "Don't worry, I'll make sure things go a little smoother tonight. But I don't see why we can't just go with you."
Throttle had slipped a leg over his motorcycle and Charley climbed on the back. He shook his head. "Too risky, hell it's too risky for Charley but she insists."
"I don't much like the idea of posing as a girl interested in---guhh...--Greasepit, but it's a dirty job and somebody has to do it."
"What makes ya think Limburger is gonna come back?" Modo asked. "I mean, every time he tried something we were able to stop him, isn't that why the Plutarkians banished him?"
Throttle shrugged. "It's just to be safe, if they decided to give Limburger a chance to come back, we gotta know to be ready."
Charley put the finishing touch of her costume-a blonde wig-on her head and brushed it back, disguising her trademark red hair. She now looked much different than normal and Vinnie fluffed his cheeks in disapproval. "You really ought to rethink that hair." He said. "Blonde just isn't your color."
"That's the point of a disguise, Vin." She said as she brought her glasses back over her eyes and placed her hands on Throttle's waist. "Don't wait up boys!" She called out as Throttle's engine revved and the pair were gone in a shot.
As the trail of their departure faded, Vinnie looked at Modo, who then rolled his visible eye and started back toward the door leading into the stadium. "What's that all about?"
"What's what all about?" Modo asked.
"That look you gave me."
Modo sighed. "Is that really necessary? Drooling over Charley like that? It's getting to be real annoying."
"It's all part of my charm; my machismo, if you will." Vinnie said, adjusting the straps across his chest slightly. "I mean, Charley expects a certain amount of macho-ness from her furry bodyguards so I give it one-hundred and ten percent."
"Whatever." Modo spoke dismissively as they made their way toward the scoreboard that doubled as their home and homebase. "I'm gonna go work on my bike, go do whatever you want."
There was a silence as Vinnie followed Modo into the board. Sighing, he turned toward the fridge as Modo used a jack to bring his bike a foot into the air, he pulled out a large blue colored creeper and slid underneath it to fiddle with the oil tank as the white mouse popped open a bottle of root beer and saddled the stool at the table. "So what're you doing?" He asked, taking a swig of the soda.
Modo peered at Vinnie from under the bike. "I'm workin'." He answered shortly.
Vinnie put his hands up defensively, a mouth full of soda preventing him from speaking until he swallowed. "Well, excuse me. Last time you and me were alone here, we found other things to work on."
A red eye glared this time as Modo once again interrupted his work to answer. "That---that was a fluke." He said. "Ain't gonna happen again."
"Oh, is'at so?" Vinnie said as he put his bottle down and got up.
