#3 of The Blakes and The Greys

Josephine Grey sat in her usual booth at her nephew's restaurant. Because it was the middle of the week, she wasn't expecting her son and his fiancée to come visit. The near fifty year old vixen mused to herself as she poked the pot pie in front of her with a fork. It had been a little over a year since she got her son back, almost a year since he'd met her friend RJ, and only two weeks after the two had announced their plans to get married.

The fox couldn't help but let out a soft sigh. She'd been thinking about looking for a husband ever since she got her son back. She wanted to finally have a complete family. She'd brought the subject up with her son several times, but neither of them knew any eligible bachelors that were around her age. Jo poked at her lunch again and again as the crowd began to die down.

Gideon had noticed his aunt looking blue. He wasn't sure why, but part of him had a pretty good idea. Slowly, the chubby tod slipped around the counter, casually making his way over to the elder vixen. "Hey Aunt Jo," the fox said as he slid into the booth in front of her. His aunt gave him a soft smile, "Hey Gideon."

"Ya don't like yer pie, Aunt Jo? I can gitcha 'nother one."

Jo just shook her head, "Naw. Ya don't have ta. Iz jist thinkin' is all."

"Bout Kody'n'RJ?"

"Yeah," the vixen said with a sigh, "Jist sad that I never did give Kody a daddy."

Gideon nodded, seeing the pain in the fox's face, but he couldn't really see her married for some reason, probably because he'd always seen her as a single woman. His father thought she might be a lesbian, but he never said why. "Well, I don't think ya have t'have one, Aunt Jo. Ya never needed a husb'nd b'fore," the tod said in an attempt to comfort her.

"That was b'cause I never had my boy with me b'fore," she replied as she kept poking at the pie, "Never thought about it til Kody cum home."

Gideon slowly nodded his head, "Well, you could always go t' Todsglen or Z'topia. They's gots lots a tods."

Jo nodded her head, "I know. But them's the city. I'd much rather has a country mammal."

Her words made Gideon nod. It sounded like she was considering going outside of her species. Not that that wasn't a bad thing. From the way his cousin and his fiancée acted around each other, it was something that could be a beautiful thing. A thought did cross his mind though, a funny thought of her marrying a bunny or her shaking up with Bill Blake. The latter thought made him chuckle softly, enough for Jo to raise an eyebrow.

"It's nothin', Aunt Jo," he said, waving his hand, "Just a funny thought."

"Tell me."

"Oh, well, you and Bill Blake."

Jo let out a giggle, "Everyone knows Bill's queer. I ain't that desperate."

Gideon just chuckled, "I knows. Likes I said, jist a funny thought."

The vixen was just about to say something when Bill Blake and another wolf walked into the shop.

Hubert was still a little pouty as he and his cousin wandered into the pastry shop. "C'mon now, Hubert. We'll gits ya a nice pie 'n y'll feel better," the heavy canine said as he gave him a pat on the back. "All right, cuz," he sniffed softly, eyes looking over the place just as the smell of baked goods slammed into his nose.

"Well I'll be," the wolf said with a big grin, "This sure is the best smell I ever dun smelled."

His cousin laughed warmly, giving him a pat on the back before turning his gaze to look over at Gideon and Jo. "Hubert, I gots someone y'll wanna meet," Bill told the other wolf as he guided him towards his beau and his beau's aunt.

"Hey thar Gideon, Aunt Jo. I'd likes ya'll t'meet my cousin, Hubert," the fat canine said with a big smile. Gideon grinned over at his lover's cousin, moving a hand out to him, "It's nice to meet you, Hubert." But Hubert never took his hand, his eyes were fixated on Jo.

The tubby wolf was stammering, trying to say something as Jo presented her hand to him. "It's nice to meet ya, Hubert. I'm Josephine, but errybody calls me Jo," she said softly, but that only made the canine let out an adorable, "A-hyuck," before his face flushed.

Bill let out a chuckle as he looked over at Jo. "Y'll have t'fergive'm, Jo. He ain't good at talking to gals."

Jo smiled softly as she looked over at the other wolf, "It's all right, shoog."

"Joe-sef-een," the tubby canine said. If were a cartoon, he'd have hearts floating around his head. Bill shook his head, "He ain't too bright either."

"Mama says Iz special."

The vixen giggled to herself. He was cute in his own way. Most males who had their eye on her weren't so bashful, which made her like him more. Suddenly, her eye caught something in the wolf's trousers, something stuffed down one pant leg that seemed to say he was happy to see her. Jo blinked a few times, knowing exactly what she was looking at, and it just made her blush more.

Bill realized that Jo had a good view of Hubert's pecker, the wolf being nicely endowed to the point where he had to slide it into one pant leg, the pant leg that was facing away from Gideon. "Hubert," he said softly as he started to push his cousin away, "We'll cum back here in a little bit. I thinks ya need to get home."

The other wolf pouted a little before giving Jo a wave and a, "G'bye, Josephine."

Jo gave him a cute wave and a giggling smile that only made Hubert seem to melt as he looked over at his cousin, "She's purdy."
