A cuckoo's nest
I though writing sounded fun, so I gave it a go... This is a short little number about bird watching, based closely on an old Steeleye Span song called 'Drink down the moon'.
'Sure enough, three maidens a-milkin' did go.' thought Tom, as he worked the knot from his shoulders after the mornings labor. 'Though if they go any slower they'll miss the market all together.' Craning his neck to the side he watched the trio of husky maids carry their pails up the kings road, stopping every so often to giggle at each others jokes, or point out a pretty bird here and there.
It took them another five minutes of sporadic walking in the late spring sun to come close enough for him to recognize the husky in a blue pinafore, and yet another five for Tom to call out in greeting without being unseemly loud.
'Molly! Off t' market with your friends today?' Tom called, waiving them over to the coachyard by the tavern where he stood.
'Why, Tom!' The young husky perked her ears up at his greeting and hurried across the road to join him, her two friends in tow. 'Haven't seen you about since the harvest! You look well enough.. Bit early to be drinking though, ain't it?' she asked, gesturing at the tavern behind him.
The collie shrugged, not adverse to a morning pick me up. 'Never too early to whet the whistle love, but I'm workin' today. Came down from the wold with the brewers dray; got a couple firkins for Paul at the tavern.' He glanced over at the other two girls, standing a pace behind her with their pails. 'Introduce me to your friends? I haven't had the pleasure.'
She grinned widely at that, gesturing behind her at the two. 'This is Constance', she said, pointing to the shy looking husky in the middle who stood staring down at her shoes, blushing at the introduction. 'And this is Abigale'.
Abigale turned out to be a bold, blue-eyed whisp of a husky, and she cocked her head at him with a smile as he gave each of them a little bow in turn. 'Fine morning isn't it Tom? There's a goodly number of pretty birds out today... we've been watching them all the way up the road to market.'
'Bit more to the side of afternoon now, m'lady, but there are a fine bunch of birds about. I've seen them flitting about in the big flowering bush behind the tavern in the kaleyard all morning.' Tom stretched at that, cracking his back and preening a bit for the ladies. 'Not that I've had much chance to look at birds with this busy work, mind.'
She giggled a little at his manners and a little more at his comical flexing. 'Call me Abby, please! "m'lady" makes me sound like a dowager.' Putting her pail down, she followed his gesture to peer over the roof of the tavern at the flock of birds swooping about. 'Do you think you could catch me one?' she asked, pointing at the flock with a grin, eyes bright and tail wagging in anticipation. 'I'd so love to see a little bird up close!'
Tom knew an opportunity when he heard one, and he gave her request about two seconds thought. 'Of course! I've a very good skill with little birds.' He offered her his arm with a grin. 'Come along with me through the yard to yonder flowering tree, and I'll catch you a small bird or two.'
Now Molly knew Tom well enough, and she fixed him with a warning look as she took hold of her friends arm. 'Abby, the markets soon to close and we should be going. If we don't hurry, we'll miss it all together and wind up carrying this mess all the way back home.' She leaned in close to her friend, whispering in her ear. 'Besides, he's a bit of a rogue is Tom.'
It was wise advice but Abby shrugged off her arm, not to be deterred by such concerns. 'Not to fear, the market will still be open by the time I get there. If you're worried about your wares, you can go ahead without me. I'll catch up with you soon enough.' She took Toms arm, her milk pail all but forgotten. 'Besides, how often do you get the chance to see a little bird up close?'
'But Abbey, what will your father think if you come back with your pail still full of wares and your pockets empty?'
'Bah! I work hard enough already for that old coot. He'd better find the good grace to forgive me, if that's the worst thing that happens today.'
Her friends unexpected blunt speech took Molly aback, and Tom took advantage of the brief pause to steer the husky clinging to his arm towards the back gate of the tavern yard, giving a jaunty wave to her friends as they left. Molly fixed him with a chilly glare, picking up her friends pail and calling after them 'Abby! We'll wait! Find us inside after you've seen your bird!'
It was a pleasant, quick walk through the garden to the sloe bush nestled in the back corner. The warm spring weather had brought all manner of garden plants into bloom, and true to his word there was a small flock of birds flitting about in the bush, taking to wing with their irritated cries as they drew near. Abby turned to Tom, laughing as they took flight and pointing after them. 'So Tom, how are you to catch a bird? Can you fly?'
'Not at all, my dear! The trick is to let the little ones come to you, but you have to entice them a bit.' Tom shrugged off his jacket and ducked under the boughs for a moment, reappearing to offer her his hand and pointing to a small hollow in the middle of the bush. 'We'll sit inside and let them fly back in to us. Just set yourself on my coat so you don't muss up your dress and make yourself comfortable enough to stay very still for a few minutes.'
She brushed aside the low branches and sat herself down in the middle of the bush. 'It's like being in a little nest in here Tom!' The thick canopy and sloe blossoms blocked out most of the outside world, and the smell of warm spring loam and pollen gave the little hollow a pleasant, safe feeling.
'All it needs is a flock of little birds then...' Tom disappeared for a moment, grabbing a burlap sack from the end of a garden row and throwing it over the gap in the center of the bush. 'There. That should keep our new friends in place once they fly in to greet us.' He ducked inside, siting beside her on his coat. 'Now all we do is stay still for a moment and let them settle down with us.'
He glanced over at the petite husky, watching her smooth her skirts down with her hands before going still, looking up through the canopy expectantly. He took in the striking black and white markings on her arms, the gentle swell of her breasts under her dress and the long cascades of raven hair with an appreciative look before turning his gaze to the bush. 'It was always easier,' Tom thought with a grin, 'to build the nest around the bird when she was already in the tree...'
They sat silently under the bush for a minute, then two, then five, and Tom was just about to pass some witty remark to break the tension when a little bird landed on a bough in front of them, hopping its way deeper into the bush to rest right above her knee, peeping at them cheerfully. Abby sucked in a short breath and froze, staring at the little bird in wide-eyed wonder. Brown and tan and bold, the bird fixed her with a quizzical stare, cocked its head and cheeped at her. With a giant smile across her face, Abby did the same.
'Peep?'
Tom leaned over to whisper to her, moving ever so slowly so as not to startle the bird. 'You can speak softly and move slowly if you'd like. The little thing should be pretty tame, Mrs. Mullins in the tavern here feeds them grain in the spring and they're used to her coming and going.' He slowly put his arm around her shoulders, waving his fingers a bit at the little bird to prove his point. Her dense fur rubbed against the black and brown of his own as he shifted his hand lower on her arm. She was, as he'd hoped, unbelievably soft and warm.
The little husky was ecstatic, bright eyes and beaming smile on her face as she leaned into Tom. "I've a bird! A very pretty bird too! Just look at him pecking away at his little crown...' She was so excited she'd hardly noticed Toms arm around her, but she gave him a quizzical look as he slowly pulled her back toward the ground. 'Tom? What's this now?'
'If we watch from a little lower, your new friend should follow us down. Maybe he'll make room for another bird too.'
'Oh! Well, alright, though it's none too comfortable looking...' She glanced down at the ground covered by his jacket, where little bumps suggested rocks and twigs and other uncomfortable bedding.
He'd been working hard earlier in the sun, and the buttons of his shirt were already conveniently loose as he pulled it slowly over his head, taking care not to disturb their visitor. Tom folded it into a neat square and laid it on the ground behind her. 'There, that should help. Puts a couple extra layers between us and the rocks.'
She blushed furiously as he stripped off his top in front of her, eyes taking in a body lean and hard from long work. He was black and brown with little hints of tan, and his pelt did nothing to hide his good form. Even though she knew they'd strayed far beyond what her friends would call proper for a young lady she lay back with him on his shirt, his arm around her as she stared up at her little bird. It was dim and discreet in the bush, she figured, and Tom seemed safe enough despite what Molly said. 'Besides,' Abby thought, and gave a tiny giggle that brought a fresh bloom of color to her cheeks, 'he smells good.'
Tom, for his part, was reveling in the feel of the husky against him. She was soft like feather down, and just as warm as he discreetly worked his fingers deeper into the fur of her arm. On a whim he raised his other hand, desperate to keep the husky on the ground next to him, and bent his finger into a makeshift perch below the little bird watching them. It took a moment for the timid thing to gather up its nerve, and Tom thought he might be stuck looking the fool when almost unbelievably it hopped down onto his finger.
'Oh, Tom! You caught him!' Abby looked enthralled at the little bird resting on his hand, and timidly reached out a hand as if to touch it.
'Of course I did. I told you I'd a very good skill with little birds.' Tom turned his head to her, fixing her with an excited smile as his eyes roamed over her body beside him. 'If you point your finger like mine and place it a bit below my hand, he'll probably join you.'
She was shorter than Tom, and had to spend a moment slowly shifting her body to press all along his side, but with a little reach she brought her crooked finger up just below Toms own, waiting with baited breath for the approval of their feathered friend.
Tom slid his arm under her head slowly, pressing her body tighter against him with his hand on her lower back to steady her as she waiting. The little bird must have liked her better, for it hopped down to her finger without too much fuss. He could feel Abbys whole body tense up against him and her breath catch as it settled in her hand, slowly preening a wing in a little shaft of sunlight.
'Oh, he's beautiful! Look at him cleaning all his pretty feathers...' she whispered, pink tongue lolling out her mouth in an ecstatic smile. 'What sort of bird do you think he is, Tom?'
'What sort of bird?' He gave the little thing a quizzical look, working his fingers into the soft undercoat of her fur as he thought. 'I suppose he looks a bit like a young Cuckoo. Funny birds those, they'll settle down in any old nest.'
'Really?'
'Truly. I bet if we built him a little nest in here he'd move right in.'
'Oh Tom, could you? That would be a marvelous sight.'
'Of course. I think we have just about everything we need right here..' He slowly, reluctantly worked his way free and rolled to his side, pressing his fingers into the loam beside them to make a little dish of earth. 'I bet what he'd like the most though is some soft, warm cloth to keep him cozy. Maybe a little lace too, if we can find it?'
Abbys' face fell a little as she considered. 'I don't think we have much chance of finding that... There's nothing in my pail or my pockets that's warm and dry, or rimmed with lace either.'
Tom slipped his hand up onto her knee suddenly and gave her a shy, open smile. 'Perhaps I could borrow your petticoat? It looks like just the thing your little bird would like for his home.' He had his hand up to the hem of her dress as he said it, and he deftly slipped up under it as she considered.
'Been staring at my petticoats have you?' She was teasing him, but rather than laughing he gave her a subtle smile and a wink that gave her a strange little thrill, heat rising to her cheeks as she blushed.
'Well.... Alright. I trust you'll be a gentleman Tom. Just let me hand you back this bird and I'll get them off.'
'No, no. You keep your bird, he suits you well and fine. I can unhitch them for you, if you'll let me?' His hand was well and truly buried in her skirts now, and he stifled a groan that would have given away his game as he felt the downy fur of her inner thigh on his fingertips. He waited only a moment for her hesitant nod, her eyes flicking back to the bird siting on her finger, and deftly slipped the front of her skirt up around her full hips with his free hand before she could reconsider.
The cuckoo was an enthralling distraction for Abby, and she only just noticed the warmth of Toms hand leaving her thigh to untie the ribbon at the top of her petticoat. His fingers were deft enough to make quick work of the knot, and she arched her hips to help him undress her at the gentle touch of his claws on her side. Only too late did she remember her missing drawers, neglected in the rush of the morning and forgotten on a fine spring walk.
'Ah, Tom, a moment!' Abby cried out, and the little bird cheeped unhappily as her hand swayed. She made a grab for the hem of her skirt, thinking to pull it down and save some of her modesty.
Tom caught her hand only by luck, trapping it against her stomach. 'Careful now... if you move too quickly you'll lose our friend.' Her predicament became clear to Tom as he glanced down, seeing much more of her cream colored fur than he expected. Smiling broadly, he hurried to reassure her. 'I know what worries you, but you have nothing to fear from me. You're a beautiful maiden and a welcome sight, and I'll keep your confidence close to the breast.'
Slowly and firmly pulling the waist of her petticoat past her thighs with his other hand, Tom couldn't help but drink in the sights and smells of a young husky bitch in her prime. She was spicy on his nose and soothing on his eyes, and the long soft swaths of cream fur on her thighs bordered by the black of her legs pushed any thoughts of propriety from his head. Better yet, his eyes could just catch little hints of the black fur outlining her maidenhood as he dropped her hand to work her undergarments off her legs.
Abby lifted her legs as she felt Tom slide her underclothes past her knees, peering down in time to watch him slip the white cotton cloth off her legs. She lay bare and exposed under the sloe boughs next to the dog she'd just met, but the discomfort she felt was tempered by the warmth of his body near hers and the fair words in her ears. It was rare she met any young men as could be called polite and even fewer that found her a beauty, and it set her strangely at ease.
His prize in hand, Tom spread the warm fabric over the little mound of dirt he'd made, piling the excess into the middle to make a cozy nest. 'Ready to put him in his new home with us? Just bring him down slowly in your hand, put him in the middle where it's warm and he should be just fine.' He was watching the bird intently, willing himself not to stare openly at her long bare legs beside him as she slowly brought her arm down to the nest he'd made.
The little bird stepped off her hand into the middle of the lace, sitting with puffed up feathers while he cheeped frantically at them. Tom thought for a moment that the bird might run but his luck held out. The cuckoo spent a moment voicing his fears and settling his feathers before reaching over the cottony rim of his new home to pull in a blade of grass, and then a twig. 'See, he's making it his home already, pulling in the last little bits he likes!' Tom said, just as excited as the half-naked husky beside him. 'Let me gather up a little of your undercoat, he'd love having your warmth and scent for his home.'
Abby laughed at that, relief that her bird had settled down heard plainly in her voice. 'Now then, silly collie, you know it's not polite to tell a lady she's shedding!'
'My dear, you huskies couldn't hide it if you tried' he said lightly, and brushed a few stray white hairs from his arms as proof. 'I find it endearing, like a little reminder of you wherever I go.'
'Well then, I guess we'd better give our winged friend his own little reminder of me!'
'I doubt he'll be forgetting us anytime soon.' Tom gave her a winsome smile, leaning over her unexpectedly to touch the flat pad of his nose to her own. It could almost be called a kiss, and she gave his muzzle a shy, slow lick in return as he brought his hands back to caress her bare legs.
He softly stroked her inner thighs, working her dense undercoat between his fingers. Tom could feel the husky slowly relaxing as he tended to her legs. He'd shortly amassed a handful of fluff, and he passed it to her to hold before abandoning all pretext for touching her. His muzzle dipped underneath the hem of the skirt riding high on her hips, the pad of his nose pressed suddenly to the apex of her legs. Her scent was overwhelming as he worked his muzzle deeper into her fur, his nose finally coming to rest against the slick, wet heat of her sex.
'Oh! Tom!' Abby's voice jumped an octave as she felt his nose travel it's intimate path. She was just about to close her legs to keep him at bay when she felt his tongue finally hit it's mark. Any objection she'd had a mind to voice was lost at the feeling of his strong, warm tongue tracing the soft petals between her thighs. 'Oooooooh!'
The eager collie worked his way deeper into her thighs, delighted at the husky maids reaction to his advances. Toms whole world became a sea of white warm fur and wet velvety womanhood, and he gently brought his hands to part her undercoat and spread her lips for his tongue. One strong lick brought the huskies breath up short and he set to work with a will, the muffled cries and heavy panting above him spurring him on.
Abby knew Tom had a cunning tongue when he'd talked her out of her clothes, but she never imagined he'd have a skill with it like this! She could feel him tasting every inch of her, strong hands on her hips as he ran the flat of his tongue over every intimate fold. He had the dexterity too, she realized, as he quickly worked it into her. He was moving deep inside her sex, touching places with his tongue she'd longed to reach, and she stifled a cry with her hand as his nose pressed against the sensitive button hidden in between her legs.
A sudden trill of bird song nearly threw Tom from his rhythm in the huskys thighs. Turning an ear 'round to the source, he found their half-forgotten friend singing the descant to Abby's soft moans. He paused to look at Abby, chuckling quietly at their unexpected partner. 'Our feathered friend likes your singing almost as much as I do!'
The husky lifted her head from his shirt, glancing at the bird in its petticoat nest before turning to the collie resting between her legs. 'You're a bold one Tom, and a terrible tease. His singing voice is much prettier than mine.'
'Oh, I couldn't disagree more! I much prefer the sounds you make.' he said, and before she could find a suitable retort he'd dipped his muzzle down and licked her back-to-front, earning a little moan from Abby as proof. She was obviously aroused, the fur around her lips soaked and matted with her excitement. The collie slipped a finger between her legs and, finding no resistance, added another. Tongue and fingers working in concert, their pace increased as the husky bucked her hips into his eager mouth.
She was close --so very close-- to the welcome point of no return when Tom suddenly stopped, gently pulling his fingers from her wet lips to lift himself from his perch between her legs, his hands either side of her hips. He worked his way up her body, kissing her chest, her neck, her lips. Abby could taste herself on him, and she blushed furiously at the sight of his muzzled soaked with her arousal.
She knew what he wanted, knew it even before he whispered in her ear. Knew it was beyond improper for a young lady too, but Tom had worked her up beyond caring. She wrapped her legs high around his waist as he wrestled with his trousers, leaning heavily on one muscled arm to pull them free. The red tip of his arousal slipping out of his sheath fueled her desire and she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down onto her, whispering back to him. 'Please... Tom, don't leave me waiting.'
Tom had no intention of waiting. The eager huskys pleading was music to his ears and her kissed her hard, tongue brushing over her muzzle as he arched his hips against her. He could feel his sheath brushing against her wet spade, and he gently ground against her until his red tip finally caught in her lips.
He took her in one swift thrust, pushing against the huskys legs to bury everything he had in her as she arched her back to meet his hips. Closing his eyes, he lost himself in the sensation of her slick walls gripping his length and the overwhelming heat of her body. 'Ah! Abby, you're... incredible. So tight...'
Muffled howling was all the response he got as Abby buried her muzzle into her shoulder at the swift taking of her. Tom was long and thick, and she felt her body stretching around his sudden presence. Bottoming out, he ground his hips into hers to work every inch inside her before drawing back. She clamped her legs around him as he pulled himself nearly free, tempering his eager movements to buy her body time to adjust. 'Slow, Tom, slow... you're nearly too big for me!'
'Relax love, I can feel you opening for me already.' he said, and slowly pushed his length back into her, building up a gentle rhythm. Tom was no traditionalist, and their face-to-face union gave him the satisfaction of watching the husky maid succumb to his movements. He could see the blush spreading beneath the soft fur of her cheeks and he tucked his muzzle under her own to lift her head and kiss along her neck.
Abby could feel her arousal growing with each move the collie made, her slick sex welcoming the pressure of his mating. She reveled in the subtle bulge of his knot stretching her as he ground their bodies together and the exotic feel of his manhood when he drew his hips back. Letting her legs drop from his waist she opened herself fully to his thrusts, wrapping her arms around his neck to bring him close enough to kiss. 'Go on Tom, just a little faster...'
'Nnng, fuck... lift your legs back, love.' he growled, finding it difficult to keep the pace below a frantic sprint as all resistance vanished. Tom let himself go as his little bird loosed her legs, watching her move under him in time to the wet slap of their hips meeting. Stamina wasn't really his strong suite and he could feel his knot slowly swelling, bringing a halting cadence to their movements. All too soon he'd have to abandon the long thrusts to tie her. Not an unwelcome trade, but he feared she sensed the end coming. Indeed, she was already pulling him closer, whispering in his ear between the gasps and panting of her excitement.
'Tom... Ah! Tom, your knot! Don...'
He cut her off with a frantic kiss, locking their muzzles together as he hammered his swelling knot home, bucking hard against her to keep it buried in her folds. Abby writhed against him, legs and arms clinging to his body as she felt him force his way in up to the sheath. The knowledge of what he was doing and the feeling of his knot locked deep within her was too much for the husky. She plunged headfirst into overwhelming pleasure, eyes rolling back as she clamped down around the collie inside her.
Tom lost the rest of his willpower to instinct the moment he felt her lock up around him, muffled howling letting the world know she was his as she cried out through their kiss. He managed only a handful of short, sharp thrusts against the pressure of her sex before his world exploded and he crushed himself against the husky maid as he claimed his bitch, his cock twitching inside her as he painted her with his seed.
He rode out the sensation as long as he could, the husky milking him for all he had as she worked herself against him. She could feel the heat of him growing in her as the torrent slowed, first to thick forceful pulses, and then slowly the gentle throbbing of a hund siring his litter. He broke their kiss with a gasp as Abby relaxed around him, gently licking her muzzle as she fought for composure, her heart still racing.
Tom gathered up the panting husky in his arms, rolling the two of them to the side and fishing his shirt from behind her back for a blanket. He could feel the strength of their joining in the subtle twitches of his body as he filled her. The wait would suit him fine, Tom thought. His day was done, and the young maid he'd tied still had a chance at making it to market, if she didn't dawdle with her friends... He settled his head back against his arm, and was just about to close his eyes when Abby caught her breath, her blue eyes fixed to his own.
'Tom, you tied us.' She whined, her breath caching at another shift of his hips against her.
'I did. And you liked it. And so did I! We fit perfectly together, like I was made for you.'
'But! But.. I can feel you in me. I can feel... it.'
He cut her short with a swift lick to the nose. 'Feels good, doesn't it? We're here for a few minutes more... we should enjoy our time together.' Pulling her close, he eased up onto his shoulder to relieve the pressure on her leg below him. 'Better?'
Abby nodded, relaxing into his embrace as she surrendered to the situation. His arms around her were a comfort and she could feel his heartbeat in her chest, mirroring the gentle pressure of his body within her. They passed the minutes watching the little bird jump from branch to branch, his nest long abandoned in the vigor of their mating. All the while Tom slowly filled her, testing their tie from time to time as he softened.
Eventually he pulled free, her lips parting around his half-formed knot. One last twitch coated her spade in his thin seed, and Tom gave her a grin as he reached for her petticoat. 'One moment love, you're a bit wet' he said, dabbing at the mess between her thighs with the lace of her underthings as he knelt between her legs. 'There, much better.' He felt around for his pants, grabbing them before he stood stooping under the bush.
She looked up at him, whistling a jaunty tune to their bird as he pulled on his pants, and felt the warm evidence of their tryst seeping into her fur. 'We've blundered, Tom. There'll be a little Cuckoo out of this, sure enough.'
He smiled at her through the hem of his shirt as he pulled it on, taking in the sight of her splayed out naked under the bush, his essence dripping from her swollen sex. 'Isn't true, love. No blunder I can see.'
Tom straightened himself up and brushed the sloe boughs aside, pulling the burlap sack door off and letting the late afternoon sun stream into their makeshift nest. 'I'd best be off. The team is slow and the way home's long. Still a bit of time left for the market though!'
The collie bent down under the brush and took her head in his paws, leaving her with a passionate kiss and a wink. 'Never fear, I live at the side of the ups and downs, and I'll be 'round soon enough.'
Abby clutched her skirt against her matted fur with a sinking heart as she watched Tom fly from their nest, disappearing through the garden to his dray. She dreaded the reunion with her friends in the bar, and their sidelong glances at her mussed appearance. Dreaded the reproach of her father too, and the knowing looks of their village friends. Worse than all that was Toms sudden absence though, an ache in her heart after the intimacy of her breeding. 'I should have grabbed hold of him, asked him to stay awhile,' Abby thought, as she started to gather her things to the sound of her Cuckoo bird. 'After all, father always said a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush.'
