After depositing the bound and now also fully muzzled Fenrir in the cave and sealing it up to keep him out of sight to never be seen again, the Gods of Asgard returned to their Great Hall to make a feast for having eliminated the danger of Ragnarok for all times. They were boastful for their feat and congratulated Tyr for the sacrifice of his hand to make it happen. Even the normally restrained and grim Odin had a smile on his face. But as they opened the great doors to the Halls of Triumph they were greeted by the Oracles standing beside the opulent throne of Odin. Seeing them all Gods gathered hushed but had still a boastful air around them as all expected to hear the announcement that they had stopped Rangnarok for good. And as expected the Oracles began to speak as one.
"Mighty Odin", they said, "we have grave news for you. In the future as we foretold you will be killed by the Black Wolf Fenrir and Asgard will fall." This grave exclamation brought the boastfulness of everyone to a complete halt and all the Gods eyed each other with dread until Thor's laughter rang through the depressing silence.
"Dear Oracles you are wrong. We just made sure that Fenrir will never be able to roam free again." which brought back a bit of the former vibe in the congregation of Gods.
Turning their heads in complete unity the Oracles spoke directly to Odin's first born, "Powerful but sadly blind Thor, with your treachery towards Fenrir you sealed the fate of Asgard and your own father. Until that point the fate of the Black Wolf was still uncertain. In admitting defeat to not being able to break free from the ropes you bound him with he was humbled in realizing that power alone is not the way. Should you have kept to the Agreement and freed him then he would have become the greatest Defender of Asgard and your father. But with your trickery and mockery of his current state you fueled his hatred to the Gods to destroy you all. And his words were true that no binding in the World can keep him restrained forever."
The shock of this announcement was great that their own actions had sealed their fate but ever the hot head Thor, Prince of Asgard, regained his senses first and was about to announce to return to the cave to further the imprisonment of their dooms bringer, but before he could voice a single word the Oracles spoke again. "There is no point in trying to return to the cave of Fenrir my Prince as you will never be able to find it again. The Trickster God and Traitor has hidden his son from you the moment you left him alone, just as he had planned. This was all according to one of his plans after all as he knew he could never force his son to destroy Asgard. The young wolf wanted to be respected by you too much to put that in danger. So he let you force him to become the weapon he needed."
Getting more furious that he was scolded for this by the Oracles he turned around and bellowed with a voice that rattled the pillars of the Great Hall. "Then why didn't you tell us this." Not the least being intimidated by the outbreak the Oracles answered. "Because we are not allowed to intervene in fate only announce it my Prince. When we warned you about the 3 children of Loki or about Fenrir becoming the Destructor of Asgard the future was still uncertain with no impact to fate. We even hindered one of his plans to bear fruition as not warning you would have led to an even faster demise. After all your brother had already played with your ego of not being the most adored by the womenfolk through illusions. Without our intervention you would have grown more irritated by that fact that you would have rallied some of your fellow gods to dispose of the wolf to sate your own ego. But in defending himself poor Fenrir would have killed the Allfather by accident ringing in Ragnarok."
"THIS WAS JUST A CHILDISH ACT OF REVENGE TO SATE YOUR DENTED EGO YOU PETULENT IDIOT !!!!" Odin suddenly roared which shock the hall to an extent that stones fell down from the ceiling.
Not even caring about the outburst of Odin the Oracles continued. "Of course your cruelty towards Fenrir by adorning him with those devices that torture him whenever you use Myolnir in a fight on the other hand is delaying the end, as without it Fenrir would realize in given time that once he stops fighting his bindings they will stop restraining him. But it is also constantly fueling his rage towards you and the gods. And once Fenrir's children, that Loki made sure would be born once he sees fit as he himself harnessed seed from his son, free him the Wolf of Doom will be unstoppable by any power."
Seeing another opportunity to get back the upper hand Thor was about to proclaim that he himself would slay those children, but the Oracles didn't give him a chance. "Slaying his children would achieve nothing my Prince. The Trickster God has always planned for every possibility that could arise to falter his plans. Without his children Loki himself will free his son by simply putting him in a deep slumber long enough to stop his struggling to loosen his bindings."
After all was said and the whole assembly of gods was dumbstruck to not even be able to move the Oracles were about to leave, but turned around once more in unity and looked right at one of the banisters of the Great Hall. "We do hope you liked how well your plans bear fruit dear Loki."
Hearing the name announced all eyes instantly turned to the spot where the Oracles were glancing at even before hilarious laughter could be heard from the spot and the air started to shimmer revealing Loki standing right at the spot. "Dear Oracles", The Trickster God said, boastfully grinning from ear to ear, "I am very delighted to hear that all my planning will lead to my goal. It was so easy hiding in this Hall all the time with my brother and son constantly clashing their egos that even my father was unable to detect me. And how much fun it was slowly bending all their minds with illusions and suggestions to distaste my son."
All assembled Gods were on the verge of attacking the one that brought their demise on them when the Oracles addressed Loki again. "Then we want to give you a vision of your future as well. Once you bring on Ragnarok and your son destroys Odin know that this will also bring your demise Trickster God. As much as you negate it, you are a God of Asgard as well and should it fall so will you."
Without another word the Oracles turned and left the Great Hall. Not wanting to be attacked by the assembled and furious gods Loki instantly hid behind his illusions again his grin eradicated. None of the gods moved an inch as all had to work out past the fact that not only had they sealed their fate, but also that their biggest enemy had hidden right under their noses all that time making sure his plans worked.
A few moments after the Oracles and Loki left Odin regained his composure and strode to his throne. After seating himself he righted his cape before bellowing again. "The World is still spinning so how about we make sure it does that as long as possible."
