Sirens blared over the otherwise peaceful landscape that surrounded the prison, scaring away all the wildlife as spotlights suddenly turned their beams of powerful light out over the woods. About two hundred meters away one of the things that ran from the area was a man in an orange prison uniform, a bloodied shiv in one hand and a gun in the other one. It had been a breakout that the criminal had been planning for months, now all he had to do was navigate his way through the surrounding wilderness until he could find a road or town. His first and only thought; however, was to get away from the structure that had been his home for the last few years, albeit a forced residence.

Eventually as time wore on and the sounds of the sirens grew more and more distant the prisoner could feel his adrenaline begin to ebb away. While he hadn't made a clean getaway he doubted that they would figure out he had made it outside the walls for at least a few hours, which gave himself ample time to distance himself from those who would want to recapture him. When that appeared to be the case his very next thought was navigation; the prison had been built in the middle of the unforgiving wilderness to deter such escape attempts, and now as he tried to stare up through the thick canopy of leaves to see the moon he began to see why. He began to lament not following closer to the one road leading out, but he knew if he did that it would be far easier to track him.

For more than a few minutes he continued to wander and tried to find some sort of break in the leaves in order to find his way until very unexpectedly the tree line broke and he found himself in a clearing. As he breathed a sigh of relief he looked up at the exposed moon and moved forward to get a better sight line, only to fail to see the sudden decline the ground in front of him took. He let out a loud cry as he tried to catch himself, only to grab at air as he began to roll down the steep hill. Luckily the dirt was loose enough to give him some sort of cushion as he fell, but he felt his weapons got stripped from his hands before he finally landed on even ground with a loud thud.

"What the hell..." he grumbled as he stood up and brushed himself off, looking back at the hill he had just fallen down before his eyes scanned the rest of the area. What he thought had been a clearing was actually more like a crater, uprooted trees could be seen half-buried from what he guessed was the center of the impact site. In the middle of it was a large puddle of black liquid that looked like tar which even bubbled slightly as he looked at it. "Looks like oil, if I wasn't on the run I'd strike a claim here and-"

He was suddenly cut short when the liquid seemed to lurch upwards and reach towards him, which caused him to fall backwards in surprise. His face was twisted in a look of horror as the liquid continued to defy gravity as it rose up higher and higher until a pillar of it towered above him. Unable to think of anything else he tried to scramble away, but the loose soil that had been his saving grace when he tumbled down now proved to be a detriment as he tried to climb up. As the seemingly sentient liquid continued to approach him, his frantic clawing did turn up the previously forgotten gun. He grabbed the weapon and turned on his back, and with the strange substance only a few meters away from him, he unloaded the clip into it.

The sounds of gunfire continued to ring in the prisoner's ears as a trail of smoke exited the barrel. Even after the clip had been completely emptied he continued to pull the trigger, making only a clicking noise as the holes made in the liquid were quickly filled in. He hardly had the chance to scream before the towering wave of black crashed over his body, covering him completely. As soon as it touched his body the substance started to congeal, turning thick and viscous as he stretched his hands against the rubbery membrane that formed over the surface of pool that engulfed him. Eventually the struggles of the prisoner ceased and the membrane remained completely undisturbed, save for the occasional ripple along the cocoon-like structure that had formed.

Hours passed, and the alien that had once been a mere black ooze could finally feel himself take control of the host within. While he had not known how long he had been stranded where he had landed on this planet, he knew that he had been in the light and darkness more than once. With the knowledge of his new host he assimilated all the concepts that would be meaningful to him as he took over the flesh. When he was finally ready the body that had been still inside the mass of black gel stirred once again, this time the membrane giving way easily as a pair of hands stretched it out. Unlike the original form; however, these fingers were tipped with slightly curved points, which he now recognized as claws.

It was the first indicator to the alien that something was off, as it absorbed the instincts of its host it found something far more complex in its place. Not just the feral will to live like most creatures, but a set of new and powerful emotions as well. They were so strong they threatened to overwhelm the normally instinctive mind of the creature, to the point where it tried to relegate the host's original psyche only to find it wouldn't leave. Images ingrained deep within the host's mind bubbled unbidden to the surface, including several images of a creature that the host personality referred to as a demon.

As the night drew on both alien and host continued to wrestle with one another until their dueling personalities began to sift into one another. At the same time their body continued to morph, the black rubber shifting pigment until it turned a deep crimson as a pair of horns swept back from their head. The mass of the alien latex coalesced into hardened muscles the human could have only dreamed off as a thick, reptilian tail and feet swelled out of his body like a balloon. Soon the creature was completely unrecognizable as a draconian snout pushed out from his featureless face as the demonic image continued to bounce between both fighting psyches.

Eventually the two were so preoccupied with corrupting the other they didn't notice their own selves were changed until it was too late, eventually the two were unable to remember who was who anymore. They stumbled forward on their feet, which had four very dexterous claw-tipped toes that made it feel they were walking on a pair of hands, and grabbed onto the nearest tree they could find as their back muscles began to swell and push outwards. His clawed hands dug into the bark of the tree as a pair of rubbery, bat-like wings flared out from his back with one mighty push.

With his transformation complete the creature stumbled and fell to the ground with a loud thud, his muscular, rubber, alien chest heaving as he struggled to keep his thoughts straight. On one hand he remembered he was a human and that he had a life, but then alien instincts surged forward and he also remembered he had a mission to assimilate the species on this planet. It appeared his initial goal was complete as he let his newly-minted body have a chance to solidify. As he did he felt a pull to another plane of existence, a psychic realm that appeared to be already established from others that had come with him.

Though the new alien tried to connect into it himself it appeared his altered psyche was giving him trouble and he couldn't quite introduce himself. When it faltered completely he did find he could see what was happening within still and looked around it for others. It didn't take long before he felt the pull of his fellow aliens quite a distance away from him, though much to his surprise he found that the two he sensed were right next to one another. His alien instincts knew that it would be hard to build separate nests if they were close to each other, and then was shocked even more to find they had commingled their nests with a strange third alien creature that was hard to recognize.

"Why would they do such a thing," the demonic creature said, pausing for a second when he heard his own deep, rumbling voice come from his throat as he felt a new emotion that the human side of him labeled quickly as disgust. "Not only are they not spreading their nests out, but it appears their slaves have not been brought to heel completely under their command save for the... bull? Minotaur? Yet despite their lack of progress they seem... happy..."

Just saying the word happy seemed to bring up a sense of rage within the demon, a powerful emotion that caused him to be slightly taken aback from the sensation. Strangely though it felt... good, the human he had assimilated was full of it and with their fused personality he found himself embracing it. Rage was strength, happiness was weakness... which meant that his brethren were exceedingly weak at the moment. They needed someone stronger than them to lead them, to properly bring the species known as humanity under their complete control... even if it meant controlling them, too.

As the night wore on the rubber demon creature, which after a bit more exploration of his new memories found the name of his former self was Aiden that he adopted once more, trudged through the forest. He grumbled to himself as he felt his form slip and deform underneath his weight more than once, making it hard for him to travel efficiently. Even the new wings against his back wouldn't be enough to sustain his weight, or worse, would melt and deform at the wrong time and cause him to plummet. He needed more physical mass badly, and the only way to do that was to assimilate another to solidify his form. Even from the memories he couldn't find one that had the way out, his former criminal self just had a vague direction to go on.

Just as the creature began to see the night sky begin to lighten into the planet's day cycle, which would have meant that he would have been exposed without any ability to disguise himself, he found fortune smile on him in the form of a flashlight beam deeper into the forest. No doubt it was one of the guards who had thought to capture him, Aiden thought as a smirk formed on his new muzzle. While normally it would have meant that he turned and ran as far as he could from the authority figure, this time he found himself stalking it. He used what energy he had left to keep his body as stealthy as possible while he slunk through the bushes, his prey unknowing that he had turned from hunter to hunted.

When Aiden was finally able to see who was on the other end of that flashlight it was a face he recognized, something that caused the symbiotic alien creature to grow giddy with excitement. The alien wondered what would have caused such a reaction in himself when their shared memories revealed him to be a guard that had worked on the block he was a part of. His name was Roscoe Lambert and he had a particular fondness for two things; working out and hassling the inmates he was assigned to. More than once when Aiden was still human he had to suffer under the indignities of getting his cell tossed or stripped searched by the huge male, now it was his turn as the concept of revenge was suddenly called into his mind.

Roscoe wasn't being particularly quiet as he continued to search the part of the woods he had been assigned to, looking down at his GPS to make sure he stuck to his sector as he grumbled. He should have been in bed by now, he thought bitterly to himself as he swung the light around, not on the search for some deranged inmate that the others allowed to slip through their fingers. He began to wonder how much trouble it would be to find the guy and just shoot him instead of trying to bring him in when he heard a rustle of bushes that caused him to turn suddenly. He pointed at the shrubs with his gun drawn and light trained on it, but upon closer examination he found nothing that caused him to breathe a sigh of relief.

That momentary letdown of his guard was more than enough for Aiden to pounce, dropping down from the tree he had climbed to land right on top of the guard's back. Even with the additional muscle he had gained from the alien material he was still smaller than the human beneath him, but luckily his body was far more resilient as he wrestled the bigger man down to the ground. Once he was down the rubber demon moved with inhuman speed and flexibility to wrap the guard's arms behind him around a tree and cuff them into place.

At first the guard continued to try and fight to get out of his bindings, but stopped when his eyes opened and saw the monstrous rubber creature glistening in the growing light of the day. "Aw hell, I knew you were some sort of demon or something!" He shouted as Aiden slowly began to circle around him. "Look, take your nasty self and run off then, I won't tell no one where you went or nothing!"

"That's not good enough this time, Roscoe," Aiden hissed in glee as he finally walked in front of the restrained male and grinned. "Before I just needed just to escape, now I find myself with much more... complex needs. In a way, though, I have to thank you twice, once for taking off your shift early to allow me to escape, and the second time for the physical mass that you're about to give to me."

Before the restrained guard could say anything else Aiden whipped his thick tail around and pressed the prehensile appendage against his face. The tip immediately softened and continued to push forward to muffle the guard as the thick rubber oozed over his head. When it reached his neck the tail clamped tight around it and he watched in pure delight as the skin around the seal continued to grow shiny and cascade downwards. As Aiden assimilated the struggling human he could feel a tentacle of his body slide down into the guard's throat, hastening the process as his guard's uniform began to grow sticky and damp.

Once he had converted the human down to his muscular chest he began to feel the psyche of the human get pulled towards the realm that the other aliens occupied, something that caused him to frown. If he allowed the guard to get there they may be able to interact with them, or worse, they would be able to turn them on their side and he wouldn't be able to make a creature of his own. As he contemplated what he was going to do he remembered the bull, the one that was most like the servants he envisioned that all humans should be, and a plan began to form in his mind about what to do. He hastily called up any memories or information that would be pertinent to him at that moment as he slowly pulled his tail off of the guard's head.

Already Roscoe's head had completely turned into a rubberized version of itself; his facial features, hair and ears all smoothed over by the shiny substance that encased his head. A steady stream of black goo leaked out of his mouth as his tongue hung limply to one side, a sign that his psyche had almost completely left him. With as much strength as he could muster Aiden created a psychic wall around the link the guard had started to form with the psychic plane and pushed his essence back into his body. When he was successful the guard immediately began to cough, more of the corruptive fluid dribbling down his chin as Aiden cupped it and pushed his head upward to make eye contact with him.

"What is your name, human?" Aiden asked as he slowly began to spread his scaly rubber fingers over the transforming male's skull. "If you can remember it right now you will tell it to me right now." Already he could sense that Roscoe's alien latex-soaked mind was trying to make the connection to the memory of his past, one that Aiden used his influence to sever as the guard's body continued to turn to liquid rubber. Though he knew that it would be far easier to just merge with the male and assimilate him completely to make the adjustments, he couldn't risk the guard accidently going to the alien psychic realm, even if it meant losing the physical essence he so desperately needed.

When Aiden once more asked Roscoe what his name was and got only a blank stare as a response he knew that he was ready for the next phase of his plan. "I will tell you exactly who you are," the demon growled as he put his hands on either side of the transforming human's head, his tendrils pushing into the already rubberized mind of the male. "You are my slave. The only reason for your existence is to serve me and my kind. You remember nothing of your former life and you obey my every word, your will is now my will and your body is now my body, do you understand?"

"Y-yes..." the rubber-covered human managed to slur around his enlarged tongue. "Ma-master..."

While it was clear to Aiden that he may have overpowered this one and broken his psyche, the only reason he seemed to care was that he had greatly reduced his servant's inefficiency. Part of him, the human part, took great revelry in what had been such a powerful man and tormentor to him brought to his knees. It was his turn to be the dominant one, and the fact that he had been called master brought a gleeful shiver to his body. After a bit of examination into his memories he realized that this was a display of submission, and as he plumbed deeper into the topic he began to see all sorts of things that caused his groin to tingle.

Before Aiden had a chance to dig any deeper, though, he heard the radio that had been discarded on the ground crackle to life and the voice on the other end ask what the guard's status was. He knew he didn't have long until they would come to this area to try and find him, which meant he would have to do his studying in another place. Once he was certain that the guard's psyche would stay right in his body where it belonged, Aiden pushed his body against him and began to completely envelop his slack form. The already half-converted body was easy to assimilate the rest of the way, the guard's head and chest had essentially melted into Aiden's chest while his body sucked in the rest.

Once he had completely taken the other human's mass Aiden grunted as he felt his body solidify until his alien material remained completely firm. As he looked down at his glossy form the word rubber appeared unbidden in his mind, but like everything else he knew he would have to explore that later. As he turned to run he noticed something out of the corner of his eye and looked down to see the prison guard's GPS still lying there on the ground, as well. He picked it up and, while traveling onward, he used the newly-assimilated knowledge to program it to reach the next town.

Meanwhile in a research facility nestled in the middle of a savanna valley another creature suddenly awoke from his slumber, gasping slightly as he looked around in the darkness. A noise and movement next to him indicated his partner awoke as well, the two aliens looking at each other as they breathed heavily. "You felt it, too?" The rubber alien snake creature said as he rubbed his snout with his hands, a latex lion with similar alien features nodding as he did the same. "How odd... it was almost like when we first landed on this planet."

"Kinda," the lion replied with a sigh as he looked down at the digital clock on their bedside table. "It's a little before midnight and I don't have to go to work until ten, you want to get up?"

The snake nodded and the two stepped out of their bed and into their living room. Ever since the two aliens had crashed into the planet they now knew as Earth and assimilated their first humans several months ago, they had tried to live as they did. It helped that the nest they had created was in a rather remote area but still surrounded by technology, the lion having found it on his first assimilation while the snake had traveled a long distance to get there. It was the first time since either of them could think that their species had done such a thing as co-habituate, but it was also the first time they experienced such complex and wonderful emotions... such as the one that caused the symbiotic creatures to become mated.

Once the two each had a mug of tea they sat down at their table, neither bothering to put on their human guise in the safety of their own home. "I really don't know how to describe this one, Xavier," the lion said as they sipped. "It's not like any human emotion we've catalogued so far, in fact I daresay this feeling pinged more on our... past instincts. You don't think that one of ours has gone rogue, do you?"

"I already did a mental roll call," Xavier explained. "All two dozen of our pets are accounted for, even Flynn's. Plus this didn't seem close, like you said it reminded me more of when we were first getting our legs on this planet, quite literally. I know what you're thinking, Tobias, and I have the same thought, but could there really be another one of us out there that's just come online now?"

Tobias shook his head and stood up, holding his tea in one hand while walking over to the one-way glass that they had especially installed in their suite so they could look outside while still in their alien forms. As Xavier watched his lover walk he couldn't help but lick his lips as the muscular backside and taut physique of the other male. One of the most enjoyable things they found with each other second to love was sex, and often they were so boisterous about it they ended up converting one of their neighbors and getting the other one switched with their pets just so they could be as loud as they wanted. Of course then they had the issue of their pets having a similar problem, but often times they just invited them so they could not bother the untransformed in the research facility.

"If it really is another one of us then perhaps we should go out and find them," Tobias finally said after a few minutes of standing there. "I don't sense them on our psychic plane, and if it took them this long to ping then they could be in a lot of trouble."

"I definitely understand where you're coming from," Xavier said as he walked over and wrapped his arms around the bigger male, burying his muzzle into the lion's silky, synthetic mane as he looked out the window as well. "If this really is another one of us and they really are in trouble then we can't risk the nest by running after them, especially since we don't know where they are. Plus, it could be a trap... we've learned enough of these humans to know they're quite xenophobic, and if they have figured out there are aliens living among them they may be trying to lure us out. I think the best course of action is to stay here and leave the psychic plane open, hopefully they'll ping us again. Until then, I suppose they'll just have to do their best to stay safe."

"Yeah, you're right," Tobias said before he stretched his neck back and kissed the snake on the muzzle. "Always so protective of us, I love you Xavier."

"I love you too, Tobias," Xavier replied with a grin, the two embracing each other once more.
