Jeremy 054; Attrition
Dominic deals with carton and his predator friends.
Okay, I admit it, another week snuck by me. I got nothing again so lets get right to the story.
The storage unit he'd selected boasted twenty four hour access for its customers. All Dominic had to do was punch in his personal access code and he was inside in under ten seconds. He padded down the hallways to his storage unit and unlocked it. He wasn't worried about the cameras. They were only placed at the entrance and every exit.
Inside his storage unit he turned the light on and locked the door from inside. The interior lock was one he'd added after obtaining the lease on the unit. He had also brought in a couple tables and chairs and assorted sized containers. There were even a few folded up boxes and three water bottles and cleaning gear ready. Everything was ready.
Pulling out the glass jar taken from Carlton's apartment Dominic set it on one of the tables. He watched the occupants for a few seconds before pulling a chair over to the table. Settling in at the table he unscrewed the lid on the jar. He could hear the shouts from within the jar. All five of them were screaming as loud as they could. Dominic could hear them, but he doubted anyone else would be able to even were they standing just outside the door.
Smiling down at the glass prison Dominic softly said "Hush, little ones."
They didn't stop. Dominic shrugged it off. He doubted he could blame them really. All his other victims had had the same reaction, fear verging on panic. He spent a minute or two arranging everything on the table. It was done in full view of his captives. He wanted them to see everything. Wanted them to see what was happening to each other without interference.
When everything was ready he began. Using a long set of tweezers he plucked one male up after another and put each in separate container. Their new prisons were large candle sconces. He then placed cloth over the tops and secured it with rubber bands. Standing from his work he looked down at the glass jars.
"I'm going to let you get hungry before the next step. Hope you enjoy each other's company."
He turned the light out as he left and relocked the storage unit. Back outside he turned and headed for Jeremy's apartment. On the way he ducked into an alley and changed back to his weasel body. He was pleased that everything had gone as planned. He could still see Carlton's apartment as he'd left it.
A pizza box on the floor just outside the open front door, obviously dropped and left where it lay from the rush of events. The front door open and clothes scattered everywhere, multiple sets indicating a large number of victims. Signs of a recent break in, complete with the mark of the presumed perpetrator. The scene should make for plenty of gossip.
Back at his apartment Jeremy found Sam home and on the couch again. He was watching the television and drinking. Jeremy dropped his pack at the door and sat next to his brother. He watched the program with Sam as he waited for his brother to say something.
"I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately." Jeremy said. It had become obvious his brother wasn't in the mood to start a conversation.
Sam looked at him and shrugged and took another sip of his drink. "Dad always taught is to take care of our own problems."
"He also taught us family comes first. If theres a problem, I want to help."
"I lost my job."
Jeremy stared for a second, stunned it the statement. "Shit. That sucks."
Sam nodded and took another drink. They shared a silence for several minutes. Jeremy was thinking of how to help him find another job. He could easily help him find a position at Nicholson. He turned to speak to his brother but Sam cut him off.
"I don't want charity. I'll find something on my own, thanks."
"What? Why not? There's always plenty of positions open at Nicholson."
Sam simply shook his head and stared at the television. Jeremy thought he understood his position. Sam had taken in Eric, and hadn't bothered to ask him to pay part of the rent. He was the oldest of them, and an unrecognized alpha. He felt it his responsibility to be the best, the most independent of them. If it wasn't for Jeremy's status as a dominant he likely would have been. He sighed at the unenviable position his brother was in.
"My offer stands, if you ever change your mind." he said softly.
Sam turned to him with a rueful smile. "I know."
Jeremy got up and after picking up his pack went to his room. He lay in bed thinking about Sam. He'd check on open positions at Nicholson the next day, just to have something ready should Sam actually change his mind. He could guess Sam would know he would do just that. His oldest brother wasn't stupid, that seemed to have been Eric's lot in life. In the end, Jeremy understood it was up to his brother to find his way through his recent troubles. Sleep found him eventually.
The next day he spent over an hour with personnel and found there were indeed several openings his brother would qualify for. He left assured there would be something if Sam ever came to him for help. He spent another hour or two at his new job overseeing the bureau. His research had progressed almost to the point where he knew what any space they took would require.
He left early. On his way to the storage unit he struggled to find a place to change into his Dominic persona. Video surveillance was an issue. Out of desperation he ducked into an alley and made his change while hiding behind a pair of dumpsters he'd had to move to conceal his activities. He walked out of the alley as Dominic. He also resolved to find a better way to make his changes, but that could wait for another day.
In his storage unit he saw each of his captives were watching him. Sitting back at the table he looked at each of them.
The coyote he knew as Carlton sat on the glass bottom of his container and stared back. His expression was an obvious attempt at defiance but the male simply couldn't pull it off. He seemed more scared than anything.
"You I know as Carlton." Dominic turned to the next sconce and its prisoner. "But you, I don't know."
The other coyote stood looking up at him with undisguised fear.
"What's your name?"
The male stammered and finally said "Mercy, please."
He looked to Carlton and asked "Is that really his name?"
"Thats Freddy. He's a bit of an asshole and a fool, but I never knew he was a coward." He said staring across at the other coyote.
Dominic snorted his mirth at the statement. Maybe you should do the introductions, to save time and keep the other cowards from revealing themselves."
Carlton stared up at the rat for a few seconds trying to keep the defiant act up. Dominic knew better. With his coyote sense of smell he could detect the rank odor of fear coming from every one of the candle sconces. Taking a deep breath the coyote started.
"Very well. The other coyote to my right is Hearsh. To his right is Mark. To Freddy's left is Barclay."
"And you're all predators." Dominic finished, not really asking but making his point.
"Yeah, so. Just finish this, I grow tired of your bullshit."
"Then I'll save you for last. We'll see how your bravado holds up to the show."
Carlton stared up at him. Dominic smiled down. He was going to enjoy watching the little male break.
"Lets begin."
Taking a pair of long tweezers Dominic picked up the fox named Mark and put him in with Freddy. He then plucked up Barclay the jackal and put him in with the other coyote. With everyone watching him Dominic started explaining his intentions.
"I'll let only one of you free. Since you've made the decision to become predators, that's how we'll decide who the winner is. You're killers, so you'll fight each other to the death. The winner of each round gets a reward to help prepare for the next round. You can start any time."
The fight to Carlton's left went quickly. As the fox advanced toward him Freddy backed away and started pleading with the vulpine. Mark ignored him and leapt at the coyote. He ended it quickly by tearing out the coyote's throat.
The other fighters was far more evenly matched. Hearsh and Barclay had just started wrestling each other when the other fight ended. The coyote and jackal fought each other for advantage for several minutes. Dominic couldn't guess which would win until the jackal managed to get Hearsh in a submission hold. He used his advantage to subdue the coyote in seconds from that point.
The jackal stood from the limp form of the coyote and looked up at Dominic.
"He's still breathing, finish him."
The jackal looked at his friend for a second before bending down and taking the coyote's neck in both hands. He twisted the other male's neck with what looked to the rat as a practiced move. His neck broke from the force and speed of the maneuver. The jackal stood and looked up at him again.
"Very well. As I said each winner get a reward for their victory."
With PATOMES already programmed he activated the command and watched as both victors grew. They doubled in height and added even more mass to both of their musculatures. When they finished growing they both looked far stronger.
Carlton had stood as they'd begun growing and watched stunned. He looked up at the rat. Dominic smirked down at the coyote.
It took little time in transferring Barclay to Mark's container. Much to his surprise he didn't need to tell each to start. Mark advanced on the jackal as soon as he had been dropped in his container. The jackal fought the vulpine off for a few seconds but was no match for the other male. Dominic thought it was a bit of a cheep shot but he'd not said anything about rules or fairness.
While the jackal folded from the kick to his groin the fox moved in for the kill. With his throat torn out the jackal died in seconds. Mark looked up to Dominic once the jackal stopped bleeding out next to the body of Freddy. He even smiled as he started growing again. Doubling in height and adding even more muscle the fox grinned at the feeling. He looked at the other glass candle sconce. He had to look down past a huge erection at Carlton.
"You fucker." The coyote said looking up at the rat that had taken him and his friends prisoner.
With a smile Dominic transferred the coyote to Mark's container. The fox had watched the transfer and advanced on the coyote slowly. He knew with his massive size advantage the other male had no chance. He was enjoying toying with his one time friend. In a fast lunge Mark had the coyote in his grip.
He lifted the male up and stared at him. The coyote dangled from this grip. At four times the coyote's height and with far more muscle the fox grinned at him.
"So much for your leadership. I think its my turn to run my own pack."
Dominic was about to correct him when the fox changed his grip on the coyote. Holding the male with both hands he brought him down and broke the coyote's back over his knee. Lifting the broken coyote he flung him against the side of the glass. Once the body stopped moving he looked up at Dominic.
"I think you misunderstood when I said I'd let you free." He said and activated the command.
The fox had time to frown before the change started. In seconds he changed from a fox to a feral squirrel of the same size. Dominic plucked him out of the container and placed him in a small cage. He let the squirrel watch as he cleaned emptied and up the candle sconces. Stuffing the cage of the newly minted squirrel in his pack Dominic left the storage unit.
It took the better part of an hour to reach his favorite out of the way part of the park. Dominic took the cage from his pack and set it on the ground. Opening the door he watched as the tiny squirrel stepped out and looked up at him.
"Okay, I'll give you a chance on one condition."
He smiled as the squirrel stood on his hind legs and lifted his paws up to the rat.
"Burry your friends first." He said and upended the small plastic bag that held the bodies of the other predators.
The squirrel looked at the bodies and after a few seconds started scraping at the ground. Dominic sat on a bench and watched. It took the little squirrel almost half an hour to dig the hole. Another five minutes later the tiny bodies were underground.
"Alright. I've decided, you're better suited to being a fox than a squirrel. Would you like that?"
The male sat up again and silently pleaded with his paws up.
"Alright."
Dominic watched as the male changed to a feral fox. He had programmed the change to allow Mark to be on the large size for ferals. The fox stood looking up at Dominic when the change was finished. He was a beautiful specimen. His thick long fur barely hid the extra muscle Dominic had granted him with. He stood nearly three inches taller at the shoulder than an average fox. Dominic couldn't see through the lush fur of his belly but even the male's member had shared in the programmed excess.
"You know my scent by now. Come find me when I'm in the park every once in a while. I might have some errands for you. Do them well and I'll reward you. Maybe I'll even find you a bitch to sire kits with. Good?"
A single yip was his answer.
"Go."
Dominic wondered if the fox had actually smiled at him before turning and running off into the brush.
