Low Mumbling (Otherwise Untitled)
#75 of Short Stories
A pair of sisters fail to converse.
~ The taller rabbit stared into the face of her sister, struggling to bring words to her breath. Alongside them both, family and friends they'd never really known shuffled to the exit in the back of the room. The funeral parlor was sinking into an oppressive silence, and the fascade of courage was crumbling without any tasks or stories to occupy the moments.
~ The shorter rabbit, the elder, struggled to not cry as their mother's funeral concluded.
~ Her shoulders slumping against the inside of the ill fitting suit jacket, watching down to her sibling, the younger sister could only muster, "I have no words for this."
