A fox for company
This is another series I'm working on about a airborne soldier during world war 2. He is at the battle of Bastogne. Fighting for his country, his life, and his love back home.
Explosions go off around me as I run into a destroyed building. Glass and dirt flies everywhere as I lie behind the counter. The floor shaking like an earthquake, as each shell hits the ground. I close my eyes and keep my head down hoping to get out of this mess. As I do, the final shells hit the ground. My ears twitch and ring as they move around for another sound. I finally hear one, but it's not the sound I'm hoping for. "Finde alle Überlebenden und bringe sie mir jetzt! Wenn einer von Ihnen Probleme macht, führen Sie sie sofort aus!" I keep my head down not wanting to look over the table. But that's when I hear the boots start hitting the wood at the front of the shop. My tail twitches and I bring it to my side as I pull out my handgun. "Komm jetzt raus oder du wirst erschossen!" If I leave now and let them capture me, I won't see my love again till the end of the way. The wolf ears, the muzzle, and the soft gentle touch. The footsteps grow closer and I have to choose between shooting him and dying honorably or not seeing my love again...
