The Wastes: The Handbook (Entry 1)
So this is just a short story to get me outta the rut I was in. It takes place in the same universe as my Wasteland series where I will give you some insight into the Burned. It's intended to be short and while some entries will be longer than others we all know how this is gonna end.

Subject: The Burned Entry 1
(The video slowly begins to play; a large fox is seen in the view. He is packing a bag; it can be assumed this was the original owner of the notebook. He speaks as he packs his bag.)
What are the Burned exactly? Are they cannibals? Are they furs that have finally succumbed to the poisoning effects of radiation? That's what I intend to find out, I'm going to leave the safety of my village to seek out and learn about the Burned. Their eating habits if they have any, where they live and sleep and whether or not they have any form of intelligence or are just as mindless we perceive them to be.
(He stops talking for five minutes to finish packing his bag, checking a .45 pistol before sticking it in the back of his pants.)
My name is Michael Barring and I am going to head into the Wastes to learn about the Burned. For science!
