Story Break-Patch Notes and Lore Part
This is a comprehensive list of flaws and plot holes that I noticed, lore, and an explanation of why the story started to fail and need to be changed. The first thing I will explain before I get to any patch notes will explain why the first draft started to die.
When I started writing this rough draft, I wanted to write something heavily leaning into Porn and retain some Magical/Supernatural Crime Drama. The first problems can be pinpointed when Connor collapses from shock and stress and hits his head on the ground, thus destroying the flow and the movement of the story. The moment stopped me from processing any sexual actions with Banavi, so I lost the primary reason for writing this. But I was able to push past this block and continue onwards, doing my best to still entertain an audience, which is why I tried involving the raffle to add more ideas and sex to the story, which both were lacking at the time. There are several flaws in my story, and I could spend hours pointing out everyone, but I will make my observations and reasonings concise. The primary reason why this story died on me was because of how I organized the "Supernatural Crime" and the "fight" with Lo-Loun, I liked the idea I went with, but it was all wrong. I had originally planned something far more interesting and dynamic for Connor's character, but after the Vision damaged his soul and his magic was sealed by Iron, all those interesting ideas died on me. After introducing Tethys, I thought it was time to change paces and go differently and retry again.
Some people might question me by saying, "Why not just fix it then? Why not write it the way you wanted to in the first place?" the only response I would have is that I can't. I do my absolute hardest to write psychologically pathed characters, meaning that if so-and-so happened, they, the characters, would react reasonably as a consequence. This strange writing style also relates to why certain situations happen, so I don't go back, edit them, and change them. I essentially have to improvise everything to compensate, which is why my stories can go in radical directions. But that doesn't quite answer why I don't rewrite so frequently; my answer to that is because I can't; I lose my passion when I look at all the pages of bad writing. So I use plot editing only as an absolute last resort to prevent characters from dying or become emotionally self-destructive, which has happened several times because I tried to write so psychologically focused. I remember four distinct times when I had to hold back and rewrite because it would kill a character or put them into required intense therapy.
The first one that made me rewrite a whole chapter was a moment at the Tribunal, at which point, the Master/Slave relationship was politically severed between Banavi and Connor, which would otherwise end the entire story. The Second time happened around the time Connor's Father physically abused him, and he was recovering with Dagia and was so emotionally shattered he struggled to live. The third time was when Connor lost his ability to use magic; I couldn't have that, so Deus-ex-machina, a God, shows up to set things right; which I actually kind of liked, and by the time I was finished writing that part, I was actually very happy. The final one was when Tethys separated her consciousness from Connor, at which point she hung a blade of Damocles over his head because he could die at any moment because of his visions. This little problem created a dilemma about how the Gods grant visions, and it became something I needed to change to prevent self-destructive actions.
This, however, concludes my explanation about my thought process and why I decided to end the story where it was; the next parts will involve Lore Plot Holes that I needed to fix.
Lore Plot Holes
First things first, in this new or next rewrite of the story, every chapter will or should have some kind of character suffering from violent death, I wanted to write a kind of Crime Police Drama, and that normally can't happen until someone dies. But sex and fetishes will still play a huge part.
Now the biggest problem with the story is its timeline and setting of Master of Hearts because they don't involve the actual dystopian trauma Earth would actually face in the collapse of all governments, industry, economy, and families.
-Timeline Fixes
>>The amount of time alone is all wrong, from the moment of the Soul Bursts to the actual start of the story is far too short to be realistic in any regard; originally, I had thought seven years would be fine, but no, that's not right, if not impossible. Even with magic being used to rebuild and stabilize everything, there aren't enough Mincridarins to create the civil structure I had created. Mincridarins live as hunted beings on their own planet, and in a medieval era, trapped behind their own walls. They have to protect their own homes back on Ecorein, so if even half of the Mincridarins on their planet transitioned to earth to help it recover, their own societies might collapse under the stress of a thinned population humans can't compensate for because of how weak they are. So instead of seven years of rebuilding, I changed it to fifteen. This difference in time thus changed how Connor grew-up, what he learned and knew, and where he ended up.
Revised Timeline
-(2004): Connor was born
-(2006): The Soul Bursts killed about 50% of the population on Earth, during what most humans call the 'Surge,' but with a final total of around 2/3's of the population because of secondary casualties and the leveling of all major cities on Earth.
-(2006) The First Mincridarins appear on Earth and start diplomatic conversations with the last remaining fragments of America's Democratic Government.
-(2006 to 2010) Are years of absolute Anarchy as people are struggling to survive, and using untrained magic causing secondary Soul Bursts, as well as the Demon and Corrupted Elementals that are attacking humans.
-(2010): Avonmori (New Las Vegas or Eden City) is established, a city designed by Mincridarn Mages and grown from a single Iron Bark tree to create a haven, unifying all of the resources of the Western Seaboard and the last remaining humans. Avonmori was developed in Las Vegas for several reasons, a wide-open desert that served as an excellent base for a terraforming project; demons avoid bright places like a desert because it burns the skin of lesser spirits, hardly anyone remained in the area due to the harsh environment, and it was just miles away from Area 51, one of the few places that had labs and workshops still operable. The AMA (American Magical Affairs) was built and established on the grave of Area 51, and it's previous scientific endeavors, this time, it operated more publicly as one of the primary sources of human advancement and protection.
-(2012): The First Democratic Elections were held, and a new President/Vice-president was seated, as well as a Governor of Avonmori. The First human mage armies were trained and pushed out to collect resources, create camps, find and protect humans, as well as fight demons.
-(2013): Avonmori started to spread its influences to foreign nations and invited them to recreate the United Nations: (Though Support to these nations is still minimal at best, the most America could do was ship in refugees.
-(2013 to Present): The Second War of the Rising Dark, a war of attrition and progress to recapture the world.
Setting
As the new timeline indicates, there is a greater dystopian upheaval that has gripped the world that isn't present in the first draft, this new environment is closer to what I intended to write in the beginning, but it was only in my failures did I realize how skewed my ideas were. However, that doesn't just include new environments but problems; because I pushed magic into a world without any, it makes no sense not to involve certain groups of people, mainly Vigilantes--Superheros and Supervillains, witches and wizards, and so on. It might be a surprise, though, but it makes sense; men and women who grew up with comics about heroes protecting the innocent, stopping the bad guy, finally getting magical powers, why wouldn't they use them to fight and protect people; create their own groups and associations? These vigilante groups would be far more prevalent than what I had originally written and should have added since the beginning.
(Groups or Factions Added to The Story)
-Superheroes and Villians
-The White Wizard Core (A volunteer association that replaced the Red Cross after the collapse of the government) Its job is to train people with minimal magical abilities on how to use their newly formed powers and use them in a supportive way; such as to heal, farm, or build with. It also supports the impoverished and creates the foundations for the First Hospitals in Avonmori.
-The Furry Fandom will be a persistent and cringe-worthy addition to the story, as this story is to reflect as much of modern Earth as possible.
-AMA (American Magical Affairs) Essentially FBI and Airforce tied together with magic.
-RED Paws (Royal Enforcement and Defense Police Services), the Mincridarn secret service.
-HL (Redacted)
-BWL (Redacted)
-Tribunal, a Mincridarn legal association that grants certification to Lawyers and Judges so they can act as councilors or pass judgment on Civil and Federal cases.
-The Council of Seven are the heads of all Mincridarn magical progression and, in some cases, act as aids to the Royal Governments to keep Ecorein safe from magical threats. They could be considered heads of a guild, but they have far more power and pull in the Mincridarn government, making them akin to a king and queen's right hand or Generals. Their warnings are never dismissed. All mages wishing to be considered Masters of Magic have to be granted the title by one of the Council of Seven's members.
-The Awakened/Blessed/Changed/Gifted/Cursed, These are humans with strange and unique magical abilities that Mincridarins refer to as blessing to the gods. When the soul bursts occurred, granting humans their magical abilities, some were supercharged, their souls warped. Though these gifted beings are normally very uncommon, they are hunted, collected, trained, controlled, or killed. Some blessed individuals are superheroes, some are villains, which is why the dichotomy was created.
-Zealots Those that refuse the New Tritalistic Faith swearing it off and that it's nothing but blasphemy against their religion, mostly Catholics and Islamic extremists. They also protest the hedonistic actions of the Mincridarins, who are too overtly sexual to be pure, that they're no better than devils and demons sent to corrupt the world, and that it's their duty to purify the world by any means necessary.
-The Hunters a radical branch of Zealots who hunt down Mincridarins to kill them as they are nothing but abominations, and their supporters, which tend to be furries and one of the most common targets because they're easy targets most of the time.
-The Black Cults/Pacts Are a group of people who have sworn off their souls for power by signing demon contracts or serving as vessels for corrupted spirits.
-The Damned Spirits, an uneven mix of good and bad, are the beings and spirits that have escaped the underworld and from their punishments and are trying to make their own lives in the mortal world in their own ways.
(Names and Meanings of Mincridarn Environments)
Ecorein - [E-Core-In] Name of the Mincridarn Homeworld
Mincara - [(Min)ute-Car-Ra] Name of the first country to interact with Humans
Leggala - [Leg-Sea(gal)-A] Name of a Desert Canyon country that supplied Silver Line Crystals to the American Government with permission from the Council of Seven.
Matra - [(Ma)n(tra)] Name of a dense forest Jungle like biome on the east side of Ecorein, and has a mage heavy society that lives inside Iron Bark trees.
Adestria - (A-(Des)tiny-Tree-A] The name of a country where dragon's feral and anthro roam and have lived peacefully for several centuries.
Ende - (End-A) The prairie, grassland "country" otherwise known as the Land of Ends, is where the dead of every continent on Ecorein go to be processed and protected.
(Basic information about Avonmori)
The city is grown from an Iron Bark Tree, and one of the largest known trees ever be grown with magic, it's trunk alone is 20 miles wide, and dense canopy almost double that at around 41.2 miles wide. Its root structure is dense and spreads out through miles of desert and deep below the surface. It survives on the magic that helps create water from the nearby atmosphere and the rivers that run through its streets.
-Has an estimated population of 1.5 Million citizens, 1.7 if including the outlying farm areas beyond the walls.
-A military service of around 250,000 soldiers of different rank and abilities
-Use's both vertical and horizontal farming styles, as farming lands exist on the hanging vines that encircle the city and in circular land plots around the city; that however, doesn't allow it to sustain its constantly growing population, which is why the military is pushing to establish a new city on the grasslands in the mid-US.
-Citizenship at Avonmori has been regulated to prevent overpopulation and crowding by using intelligence or IQ tests, Soul Strength, and or combat proficiency examinations to make that every citizen counts and can pull their own weight if the needs arise. The American government has also started to regulate human births by making parents apply for permission before mating. At the same time, no regulations exist against Mincridarin procreation as their children are considered too valuable. It is common for human parents to adopt Mincridarn children if they themselves can't have any, or adopt human children.
-If an American citizen fails these exams, there are external habitations around the cities walls that are used to compensate; most of these citizens become farmers or soldiers and can get visas to enter the city but bar them from purchasing residences inside the cities walls.
-The internet has all but collapsed, but there is an equivalent that is called Nexus, which is steadily growing to reestablish connections to server hubs around the US. The Nexus uses an Etheral Network to connect to devices, so barriers that impair connection like walls, deep ground, electrical jamming tech, and so on are all but nullified.
-Spirits, Demons, and Angels are common and are not hidden from public view.
-The American government has a heavy hand on the population, and though democratic, there is a very strong push towards Militarism; safety at the cost of freedom.
This concludes my primary edits and the greatest changes to the plot and story that will drastically alter the story's flow; everything below will be Lore that I will be keeping and defining from the first part to make it at comprehensive list fall back on and will be organized by groups such as, Names/People, Objects, Animals, Resources, Magic, Slavery, Terms and Definitions, Miscellaneous and so on if more groups need to be added.

Character Update Notes:
-(Summary: Mail is 14 and Hammond is 8 Years old) Mail and Hammond are far too young, Dagia is Thirty years old, she became an "Adult" by mincridarn law at sixteen, which means she could participate in Mating Season. Due to this fact alone, Dagia would already have several children beyond just Mail and Hammond, related by blood but not by title; it wouldn't be hard to assume she might have easily produced at least five cubs in fifteen years. The cubs Dagia didn't keep were most likely handed off to their biological fathers. Mail is considered her firstborn, so she would have had him when she was at least sixteen or seventeen, so he'd easily be thirteen or fourteen years old by the time the story starts. Hammond is the first son Dagia had with her mate and depending on when Dagia joined with Atix, Hammond should easily be 8-10 years old.
-Prince Romulus' name is changed to Prince Halvis mainly because I didn't want a roman influence or naming convention involved in the story.
-Lilen Vos is supposed to be pronounced Lilen Vas; only recently I realized I was spelling it wrong, so his name on the character sheet is actually wrong.
-Captain Ditri's name is being changed to Obala
-Banavi Newopo suffers from urinary incontinence in some minor form because of his Feralization; as much as I would enjoy Connor being a diaper lover, I thought this would be a better fit as it makes Banavi more insecure and why he struggled to find mates. So he liked and decided to start dating Connor because of his open-minded nature.
-Connor Mason has never worn diapers nor really thought about using or playing with them, but he's willing to try it regardless.
(Racial Names)
Mincridarn - [(Min)ute-(Cre)ed-(Dar)n-In] ( -ins- is added to the end in the case of Plural or more than one Mincrdarn (Mincridarins)) A superimposed title on any being that has an (Animal) like appearance and is considered Anthropomorphic. It's meaning is similar to the title of "Human" but also relates to citizens and is not just a racial title.
Adestrians - [A-(Des)tiny-Tree-In] (Adestrian(s) meaning more than one, is pronounced with [ONs] instead of [In] in the cases of plurality) The name of the Anthro race of Dragons from Adestria, "Feral" dragons are still referred to as Dragons.
Manairins - [Ma-(Na)rrow-Air-Ins] The name for Aquatic "Mincridarins" or the name of an old Magically advanced society of aquatic "Mincridarins".
Items
Anmeroc - [(An)dy-(Mer)maid-(Rock)] A key that opens up a doorway into the Veneer, best used by mages who want to practice magic without restraint. Created by an Angel of the Gray God or a Reaper.
Aranium - [Arr-(An)dy-Uran(ium)] A Collar designed with a heart and soul and is meant to emphasize the receiver's spirit; it's seen as an exceptional token of Union and Love between Mincridarins that goes beyond being what could best be compared as a wedding ring.
-Soul Swords - Are weapons with unique properties, mainly that they are conscious living objects with their own personalities and unique abilities. Though the most important thing to remember about Soul Swords is merely a title, and Soul Swords can come in any shape and size; some might not even be swords but suits of armor, tools, maybe even a mug as strange as it might seem. But there are costs involved in handling them; they are conscious entities, so they will only let those they feel a connection with can use them, so not everyone can use the same Soul Sword. Some might be more dangerous and try to take possession of the user, corrupt them, or live off the users' personal sacrifices; whatever those might be, there are also Soul Swords that will agree to contracts and pacts that are heavily weighted in their favor.
Amplifiers - Are magical objects that Mages use to focus their magical abilities; these can be nearly anything from a simple stick to jewelry and even weapons. However, mages can use alchemy to change and improve these amplifiers to make them more focused or alter how the magical moves through them. There is no standardized amplifier for any one person, and everyone is different, and so is their amplifier; some Amplifiers might be as strange as a tungsten mug. However, most mages try to select compact Amplifiers for combat purposes.
Cacoon - (Never mention by name but the hammock Connor sleeps on) A cacoon was designed my Mincara Females; it's a right triangle-shaped hammock that is hung in the corner of a room that can act as a rocker for cubs or swaddling bed when excess is folded over and hooked or tied into place. When completely hung in a full triangle on the wall, it can serve as a changing table. But completely rolled up and swaddling the cub, it can be used to carry the infant around on the chest or back; it was designed for speedy packing and retreat in cases of disaster or attack.
Branding Needles - There are several ways for a slave to be branded, the easiest method being a cold brand, which freezes the area damaging the skin but doesn't kill the fur and hair follicles, allowing the fur that regrows to be stained white. The second a hot brand that is commonly used on criminals as a means of punishment, and then there are Branding Needles. These special magical needles are used to create a connection between the master's and the slave's soul; this connection allows for more personal ownership and is a required method for Slave Trainers, as it forces the Slave Trainer to feel the pain they push on to the slave. This method is used to protect the slave from abuse and neglect.
Resources
( Ores )
- Silver Line Crystals - Is one of the most prominent magical resources on Ecorein as it has several powerful attributes. One is it can act as a battery storing massive amounts of energy, or Programming code, making them one of the best components in computer systems. The problem with using Silver Line crystals as a computer component means that the interaction between the electrical (Physical) and magical (Etheral) systems have to use Unique programming codes that change magic into physical information a computer can process. However, some mages have taken what they know about computer programming and have started to create complete codes that, by all accounts, emulate what a computer can do, if not emulate, interact better than any physical computer system.
(Bonuses to using Silver Line Crystals in Electronics, these crystals generate no heat when computing massive amounts of code, they might stutter or collapse the code, but they won't melt from excessive use. They act as powerful batteries; even coin thin pieces of Silver Line Crystal can allow electrical systems to last days, weeks, or nearly 10x longer than any electrical battery. Compared to Modern Solid State Drives (Memory Cards) of equivalent size to the Silver Line Crystal, the Silver Line Crystals have shown that they can contain up to 1000x more information.
(Continued)
Silver Line Crystals are also plentiful and grow through the consumption of magic; even when powdered, it will continue to grow if it can consume magic and won't stop unless the crystal's chemical structure is shattered, split, or disintegrated. The problem is that they can't grow in pressure heavy environments or places with intense gravitational pulls because the natural structure of Silver Line Crystals can be compared to glass; otherwise, the pressure causes them to shatter and collapse. It makes them easy to erode, so the crystals mainly grow on the surface or in surface-level caves. Magic can compensate for this weakness through runes that strengthen the chemical structure to make it near unbreakable and cease its growth so it can be stored and retain magic. The crystal's natural fragile structure is also why mining them takes practice, patient, and surgical care because cutting into large crystals and shattering them by accident can be comparable to nuclear explosives, ICBMs, just without the radioactive fallout.
- Demeterium - Is essentially what Mincridarn Steel is called but is considered stronger because of its magical properties making the chemical structure and bonds nearly 5x stronger.
- Demeterium Alumin - An Aluminum equivalent that replaced modern weapons and bullets' metal frames because of its feather-like weight and durability.
- Magic Infused metals - Since magic has existed in the MIncridarin universe since the dawn of its creation, this has changed how ores and chemicals interact with one another, as essentially all things have some kind of soul, allowing them to "use" magic to resist change or expedite it with stronger catalytic responses/ chemical reactions.
( Organic )
Dragon Shed Skin - [/b]An organic equivalent to leather but 15-20x stronger
Dragon Scales/Bones - An organic equivalent to Steel, but weighs 2-3x more, Barely malleable and unmeltable (Burns and turns to ash instead of melting) but is nearly 30x stronger than any modern armor equivalent and easily compares to enchanted plate mail.
Arachnem Spider Silk - A spider silk, that if spun by the right size spider, has the same natural width of sewing thread or twine and bears the same weight, but increased durability compared to Earth silkworms. Easily collected in massive amounts thanks to the size of Archnem and their docile nature, it has upset the fabric market by making cotton and Earth silk products obsolete.
Manabas Byproducts - Manabas meat is the equivalent to beef but has a denser chewer texture and is almost completely inedible by humans unless cooked with magical tools that weaken the meat's organic structure; otherwise, it would be like eating a well-seasoned brick. Milk can be collected from females and are milked just like cows. Their antlers are commonly reserved for making ornate hilts, staffs, or magical amplifiers such as wands.
Bonu Eggs and Meat- are seen as a delicacy amongst nobles, so farmers, breeders, and hunters will try to farm and collect their eggs worth their weight in gold.
Iron Bark Wood - Comes from Skyscraper sized kapok-like trees with natural dark mahogany like wood tones. They commonly come from Matra's eastern Landmass; it's naturally fireproof up to temperatures of 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit (1500 Celcius) and bares the natural strength of Iron. The seeds it produces are known as Gogen fruit and are the size of watermelons but with an external body similar to green grapes. Gogen Gruit is a delicacy in Matra because of it's sweet lemony apple flavor and nutrient-rich body; however, it serves as one of the primary food sources for Archnem, who suck out the glucose to sustain themselves. One last special feature about Iron Bark trees is the fact that they are naturally bioluminescent; during the day, they absorb light, and at night they glow, sharing most of the same values of solar rays; making the day and night cycles in Matra the exact opposite of what they would be just about everywhere else. Mages in Matra will commonly shape the wood to make homes around Iron Bark trees' circumference so people can live inside. The widest recorded diameter of an Iron Bark tree until Avonmori was around 1.5 miles across and was the biggest tree in the Southern Isles of Matra. Avonmori replaced that record at a stunning 20 miles across or 32 Kilometers.
Laurels - Are a common type of mushroom, with flavors that change depending on the environment, nutrients, and magical quality. Most magically rich Laurels are used as the bases in potions.
Via - The hanging stalk of Gogen fruit has to be boiled to be rendered edible, closely related to celery in texture, but it could be considered dull in taste. A stalk that is mainly used to fill one's stomach rather than something someone would eat for flavor.
Koram - A purple star-shaped seed similar to walnut but around the size of a coconut. When the shell is broken away, the primary nutrient mass is this rigid tender orb that can be cut and served as a side to clean the pallet has its dryness acts as a sponge to absorb the excess. Commonly found In matra's southern isles.
Fuma - Is a symbiotic moss that grows on the wounds of Iron Bark trees to deter insects and pests from burrowing any further, while it uses this pocket and fuses its own root structure with the cell structure of the tree so it can absorb nutrients. Fuma is commonly collected and used as stuffing in pillows and bedding after being dried and washed to eliminate the cedar-like scents.
Gogen Fruit - Commonly a watermelon-sized fruit that grows in bundles like grapes and is the primary seed for Gogen trees, it has a Lemon-apple flavor. When juiced, it can be rendered into a bitter syrup that is a common ingredient in mixed drinks. It can also be juiced and sipped on raw like orange juice. Some humans have found out that it can be ripened into a surprisingly potent zesty wine, commonly called Gogen Wine. A good way to see if it's a good wine or "Fresh" is that it'll glow green because of its bioluminescent chemicals.
White Capped Corpse Eater Mushroom - are grown in Mincara and Ende; the mushroom is known for quickly consuming blood and bone of bodies but is completely innocuous. When eaten raw or rendered into a powder, it makes an excellent recovery tool for injuries or Regeneration Sickness.
- Blood Stalk - A Common flowering stalk that grows around decaying remains in marshes and wetlands, it will clone the blood it consumes and also changes it into glucose-rich blood sample, which it uses to lure insects close and pass on pollen. This Stalk can be consumed to counter blood loss in small quantities because of the Iron-rich vitamins. It has a celery-like structure but an internal well filled with the "blood" accessible by the flower on top. There are some Doctors who are trying to use blood stalks as an organic way to replicate transfusion worthy blood, while movie and entertainment companies grow them to make photo-realistic blood.
( Synthetic )
Magus Silver - is normally an incredibly rare natural Silver ore deeply infused with magic. It is commonly the best conductor of magic as it flows freely through the ore without an ounce of residence. For centuries, Mincridarins have been trying to replicate its magical properties but have failed. It's more than just mixing chemicals and smelting things together. It's the soul of the ore that they want to replicate. The only equivalent thing they created is smelting Silver ore with powdered Silverline crystal.
Potions/Salves - are made through alchemy to replicate magical spells, enhance and heal the body; sometimes, even innocuous flavor potions are used as ingredients for mixed drinks.
Magical Texts - Tomes that store magical information or have the ability to replicate magical spells, such as talismans and charms.
Amplifiers - Magical tools that are created with the express purpose to enhance someone's personal magical ability, capable of coming in nearly shape and size.
Animals
(Beasts of Ecorein)
Arachnem - Are a breed of spiders more akin to tarantulas than any other spider on earth, but with slimmer legs and less "hair", they aren't venomous, but bites can severely wound or maim depending on the size of the Arachnem which can vary drastically as they seem to have no growth limits other than food and space. They are one of the strange anomalies on Ecorein because they are incredibly docile, and are easily frightened off, and have seagull and pigeon scavenging personalities. This is probably because of the fact that they have little to no natural predators other than themselves in Matra, where they are commonly found, which is in the canopy of Iron Bark Trees, where their primary food supply is.
Bonu - The "equivalent" to a chicken but is more closely related to Raven's intellect wise but with the carnivores nature of Bearded Vultures, territorial and smart, is incredibly dangerous. Naturally gifted with Gaie magic, they can fly through objects like ghosts and most defenses unless warded off my magical barriers. They also fly in "Packs", coordinating attacks and luring prey into traps. It doesn't help that they are protected by external bone plates that act as armor or evade no magical attacks by merely turning the body into an ethereal shadow. However, their eggs and meat are seen as a delicacy amongst nobles, so farmers, breeders, and hunters will try to farm and collect their eggs worth their weight in gold.
Manabas - Manabas are truck-sized, black scaled omnivorous deer; their antlers are commonly reserved for making ornate hilts, staffs, or magical amplifiers such as wands. They can also cast basic magical spells to infuse their attacks with elemental damage or strengthen them. Magically gifted Manabas are seen as the population's Alpha males and females.
Magic
(The Basics)
All Magic comes from the Gods of Creation, their very presence creates it, and Gods of Creation are separated into three groups: (White/Gray/Black). White governs the Heavens and creates Eden for the deceased, the Gray governs and protects the Mortal Realm from corruption and guides the souls of the dead into the afterlife, and finally, Black governs the Abyss, the underworld, and act as wardens to punish and keep the damned where they belong. Though these categories seem one-sided, no god is distinctly evil or pure; all things have their opposite.
7 Elements of Creation
Rebon(White) - [(Re)turn-(Bon)e] Can be considered light magic and is known for being able to manipulate the soul (It can't heal physical wounds)
Venfas(Wind) - [(Ven)gence-(Fa)ll] Represents all things that lack a physical structure, which can include wind and air
Kenlon(Fire) - [(Ken)ny-(Lon)g] Represents thermal heat, the creation of or the smothering of it, or vibrational energy
Omnion(Gray) - [(Omni)directional-On] The Absolute Base for all magic, gray magic can transform into the seven elements of creations, and all magic gets reset to gray magic when not being used or projected by mages. The downside to being able to use all types of magic but never being able to "Master" a single one, there is too much of a magical drain on the cast; this is drain makes it impossible for mages to use top-tier or master level spells.
Dimen(Stone) - [(Di)e-(Men)u] Represents all things that bear structure or physical forms and is the primary magic used for healing the body
Qire(Water) - [Key-Air] Represents all things that lack physical form but have a structure, such as liquids.
Gaie(Black) - [Guy] Can be considered shadow magic, but that is merely a sub-category; black magic itself is meant to represent physical existence.
(Terms)
The Heavenly Three - Common term to refer to Rebon/Venfas/Kenlon
The Abyssal Three - Common term to refer to Gaie/Dimen/Qire
Primary Elements - Common term to refer to Venfas/Kenlon/Dimen/Qire
Dual Affinity - Means that a being can use Two of the Primary Elements as long as they aren't contradictory.
Tri Affinity - Means that a being can use Three of the Primary Elements as long as they aren't contradictory.
Blessings- Are special and unique abilities that a child can be born with or inherit; these blessings normally relate to a God of Creation. (Example: Vix the spirit fox was blessed by the god of markets and can see the true value of any object in existence)
Soul Burst - Occurs when a mage's soul can't handle the amount of magic contained within and therefore bursts to create a dangerous magical explosion of that soul's element. This can also occur during intense emotional moments where one loses all will to live. Through illegal and dangerous, some Mages have used the nature of a soul burst to expand their magical abilities as it stretches the limits of the soul to its limit without excessive training.
Soul Strength - is a numerical measurement used to identify how strong a person's soul is and, therefore, their magical potential. Normally these numbers run from 10-100, and those with 50-69 are considered combat artists or adepts with magic, 70-89 is the common area for mages, 90-100 are commonly referred to as natural-born masters. Anomalies or mortal beings with a soul strength of 101+ are known for being blessed by the Gods of Creation and sometimes have a unique gift or ability.
(Souls)
All souls have three parts:
The Core - which is the culmination of every living moment and is by all accounts the personality and life of an individual.
The Void - is the space between the core and the body and is the storage area for all the magic a being can contain
The Body - represents the shell or membrane that surrounds the soul; this membrane is the direct conduit the physical body has with the soul and regulates how magic enters or leaves the soul. This is why when the body of the soul is damaged or tearing, the physical body replicates the wounds with scars that expel excessive amounts of magic as a means to preserve the physical body and the Core.
There are special and unique anomalies around the soul that can be seen as "Genetic" as the likely hood that these anomalies occur drastically increases if one or both parents have some version of the same "Genetic" anomaly. The most common version of these anomalies is the ability to use Omnion magic, which only occurs in 9% of recorded mages. A rarer Anamolie is Dual/Tri affinities; these affinities relate to what kind of magic a being can Master; if they have a Dual affinity, that means that person can use two primary elements and the same thing for Tri affinities. Though these "Genetic" anomalies are rare, around 2% of recorded mages ever have the affinity. Blessings are the rarest and most sought-after "Genetic" anomaly as they persist through bloodlines; they might skip generations or only exist in males or females. The more Blessings a family has in their bloodline, the more likely they are to inherit an ancestral blessing. Those blessed with these magical abilities are normally regarded as prime breeding stock, and males will sell their seed, females their eggs, or children and infants as a means to gain wealth or status. However, getting blessings are exceptionally rare, and only 0.00001% or about 1 in 100,000 have ever been born with one; one way to tell if a child or cub is blessed is because, during birth or conception, there will be some kind of magical occurrence that suits the element, like pouring rain on a sunny day, raptures fires, flowers blooming or dying, sunbeams that burn like a hot iron to the touch and so on.
The last thing to mention about souls is that magical potential can be inherited as well if two powerful mages mate and produce a child, that child tends to have a Strong Soul as well or rather equivalent strength to its parents or an average between the two. This isn't always true as two magically inept parents can produce a child that is exceptionally gifted in magic, and the inverse can be said to as a magically inept child can be born between two magically gifted parents; However, this inverse is just as rare as the sudden appearance of magical ability in an inept family.
Mincridarn Genetics
(Inheriting Features)
Mincridarins have unique physiology to produce children with any kind of mammalian breed; however, the cubs between a Mincridarn and a different species will always produce a child that reflects one parent or the other. So if a wolf mated with a human, the child would be either human or a wolf. However, this doesn't relate to fur patterns or colors, so if the mother was a gray wolf and the father was human, the child could very easily come out with naturally gray hair.
(No cat-boys or fox-girls, there are no hybrid mincridarins)
(Feralization)
It is the inheritance of traits that mimic a Mincridarins' Feral counterparts and has a scale of from innocuous to unrecoverable:
Innocuous: Are merely small and basic changes to the body like hooves instead of feet, height changes, or feral impulses. (This can include udders on cows instead of breasts for bovine Mincridarins, and yes, these udders can be milked just like the feral counterparts) (1%)
Bearable: Mincridarins that have this level of Feralization mainly suffer intellectually or are generally slow learners or rob a Mincridarin of their hands (0.1%
Debilitating: Mincridarins that suffer under this level most likely have a "Taur" appearance or appear by accounts feral until they talk. (.004&
Unrecoverable: Those that suffer from feralization to such a degree are normally killed just after birth or cut from the womb because of how dangerous they can be during childbirth, as they come out as fully feral beings with little to no intellect or verbal skills. (.005%)
(Mincridarin Beliefs about Transgender Beings and Gender Equality)
#I can already see that this topic might get hate, but this isn't my personal opinion, just Mincridarn philosophy#
-Gender Equality-
Mincridarins grew up in an environment where they didn't have time to decide who has to do what, who can go out and hunt and gather, who can fight and who needs to hide. They didn't have that luxury, they were hunted every single day of their existence, and so everyone had to learn how to fight and hunt in order to survive, so Mincridarn society evolved in much the same way. Mincridarins don't care about who cooks and takes care of the cubs, hunts, and fights; if you have the ability to do it or like to do it, do it; they don't care. They don't care if a person likes wearing feminine clothes; they only care if it's practical for combat. Both Males and Females serve without issue in the Military and hold status and power as nobles, can own land, and share all the same rights and obligations. IF a female thinks it's right to strike a male in anger, that male is completely in his right to fight back and defend himself.
When Mincridarins saw the disparity between human men and women, they were all too confused because it didn't make sense to them, and politically pushed the American government towards Gender Equality when Avonmori was being established. New laws were being written to protect all conscious and mortal beings.
-Transgender Confusion-
Mincridarins being a completely gender-equal society, understand why some beings might want to change their gender for reasons of procreation. Still, anything less than that confuses them, as they don't understand gender stereotypes and why they exist. For the most part, as long as a being isn't living by atrocious gender stereotypes or reinforcing them by saying, "Only men can do X/Or only women can do X" they're fine with it; but push those stereotypes on them is a good way to get into a hospital or an early grave.
-Females Mincridarins and Breast sizes-
Due to the fact that combat is a common part of Mincridarins' life, female Mincridarins hate large breasts because they're not practical for combat. They'll bind them up to suppress them or use bandages in puberty to smother their growth. In more prehistoric eras, some distinctly large-breasted females would cut off their own breasts. Male mincridarins don't even see the appeal of the soft sack of fat; it just feels weird compared to the rigid muscle tense bodies they're used to handling while mating; large breasts can actually be a huge turn off for male and female mincridarins.
Slavery WIP
(Mincridarin Slavery and Types of Slaves)
Due to the necessity of survival and the advantages and progression of magic, Mincridarins has a secondary means of punishing criminals other than killing them for their transgressions. Mincridarins believe that if you're going to waste the life, the gods gave you by stealing, hurting others, and so on, then you can serve the greater good by working so others can spend their time leading everyone else forward. But almost all mortal life is precious to Mincridarins, everyone matters, and every one counts, no matter how small, including slaves; this difference in Ideology is what caused Mincridarins to create laws to protect Slaves from abuse and neglect. These protections are expressed in several ways, government oversight in the buying and selling of slaves, legal and rightful representation in courts, and thorough psych exams on both the slave, trainer, and owner, and finally, laws that protect slaves from abuse and neglect.
-When a being wants to be a slave trainer, they have to expose their souls to a tribunal and speak under oath, under magic that compels them to answers truthfully to any and all questions. If there is reason to believe that a trainer might not be fit to own, buy, or sell slaves, they are barred from owning any.
-Slaves are also required to speak under oath after they complete training to ensure that they themselves weren't abused beyond any reasonable means.
-These requirements to speak under oath can also happen randomly as not to let the trainer feel like they can do anything they want once the Tribunal is finished with the examination.
-Slavery is used as a means to serve time for breaking the law, so no slave is ever born a slave, all slaves know when they will be set free and be considered a free citizen again, and only a Tribunal can adjust this date, and no master can threaten to change or keep them forever. If such sentiments are ever exposed, a slave trainer or owner will forever be barred from owning a slave and becoming a slave to serve out a sentence themselves. Slavery to Mincridarins is contractual. No owner or trainer is allowed to bypass certain limits set by the tribunal and slave. These kinds of negotiations are commonly used for Concubines to protect them from sexual abuse. A slave and or concubine can be "Raped," and they have the right to pursue legal actions against their owner or trainer in such cases.
-Slavery to Mincridarins isn't a black stain on a name; if the sentence is served well, then many can return to society as if they had done nothing wrong. Many traders will hire ex-slaves because they know they can do the work, and all slaves, especially Sentries, can take up military positions once the sentence is over. When Avonmori was established, and criminals who escaped prison were found, Mincridarins were quick to offer them jobs and shelter because of the same sentiments. There is no bad blood between criminals and Mincridarins citizens if they honorably serve their time.
-No Mincridarn is above the law and is allowed to only own three slaves at any one time, including Royalty. This is done as a means to force nobles to hire citizens and pay their workers. So slaves that are bought and sold are mainly used to cover bases, not as a means to supply "free" labor.
-Types of Slaves-
Laborers - The most common type of slave, they perform manual labor to serve out their sentence, one of the longest ways to serve time.
Servants - Are slaves who understand how to read, write, perform magic, and or are intelligent enough to serve nobles and perform chores in their home.
Sentries - Slaves that can continue to fight or serve in the military, commonly used as town militia, one of the most boring jobs in the Mincridarin military.
Concubines - Slaves that provide sex and pleasure to their owners as a means to serve their time, one of the hardest kinds of Slavery, but it also has one of the shortest sentence times, so they can serve and get out in less than a year maybe two depending on the reason. All Concubines have to have a soul tether brand that ties the owner and the slave's soul together.
(Branding)
Hot Branding - Using a hot piece of metal to brand a slave, normally only reserved for volatile criminals or as a means to scar a Mincridarn.
Freeze branding - Using a frozen piece of metal to kill cells that color the fur and skin, staining them permanently white.
Magical branding - Brands that have recently replaced the use of Freeze and Hot branding because of their versatility. Magical brands appear as tattoos that stain the fur and the skin of an individual.
Tracking - a Brand normally reserved for Senteries to make sure they are adhering to their duties or for slaves known for running away.
Soul Tether - a Special magical brand commonly used on concubines and newly acquired slaves because it allows the owner to feel and sense the slave's pain and emotions; these sensations allow a trainer to better train a slave without traumatizing them and allow an owner to know if they are going to far and abusing the concubine.
Titles and Military Service
(Royal Hierarchy)
Governing Royals - The being sitting on the throne of a country.
Royal Right Hand - Serves as the Regent
Royal Left Hand - Serves as head of the Royal Guard and of the "Shadows" (In Mincara, the right and left-hand swap in definition)
Knights of the Royal Court - The Council of Citizen elected Knights that aid the King and or Queen in making decisions and or laws.
-Royal Family - The direct descendants to the King or Queen of a country; by title, not by blood.
Knights - Most Commonly, these are beings that have been honored for committing a stunning act in battle or have acted as a great aid to the Lords and Military Officials; just about anyone can be Knighted, but it is not a title bought by wealth but by merit alone
Lords - Are regarded as the highest-ranking military officials in the Royal Court, and it is not uncommon for Lords to sit on the Royal Court, as they govern the army, and most Commonly they are the Governors of Forts and or Military Resources.
Lord Minor - Is the Mate and or the direct descendants of a Lord; by title, not by blood. This title is commonly given to the first born of a Lord and their Mate.
First Blades - The being equivalent to a Human General.
Second Blades - The second in command to the First Blade.
Noble - Beings of status earned through combat and or wealth. (Members of a Tribunal would be here) In comparison to European nobles, the title of Noble bears little to no weight to Mincridarins other than as a denomination of class; what's important to Mincridarins is that specific noble's achievements and their family title. Family titles hold more weight than any noble title.
Masters - A being can only become a Master through two means, it can be bestowed by the King and or Queen of a country or through a council of Masters who agree with a 2/3 vote.
Trainers - Most Commonly synonymous with Teacher and Professor as well as Drill Instructor.
Mages - Someone who has complete the required preliminary material outlined by the Council of Seven. (There are seven ranks in this category alone)
Initiate: (A being who has just started its magical lessons)
Combat Artist: (A being who has finished the fundamental lessons and have started to apply their magic in combat)
Apprentice: (A being who is focusing on a magical specialization or focus such as enchanting, spellcraft, alchemy, and so on)
Familiar: (Combat artists who can't progress any further in training can be taken in by a mage and act as their personal assistant)
Mage: (A being who can continue to focus their studies and take on military roles in their nation of origin, or try to gain a master's title)
Master: (A being who can train another from the initiate level to the mage and can only be granted the title if the mage they trained passes their final exams)
Archmage: (A being who has reached the Master level title and has been accepted with 6 unanimous votes by the council of seven, granting the master the right to serve on the council of Seven) This vote is exceptionally rare as once accepted, one sits on the Council indefinitely, till death, or by a legal ruling, so all council members meet with a tribunal and speak under oath to discuss their opinions and why they chose their vote in front of a public citizen audience. This is used to protect the world from an abuse of power and protect the vote from coercion.
Soldiers - Someone who has trained to act on behalf of a Lord and or serve as a protector for a city or settlement.
Merchants - Someone who has been given permission from a lord or overseeing council to sell wares that fit the legal standards of that country and or settlement.
Civilians - Are simply living beings that have sworn an oath to follow and obey their Governing Royal's proclamations.
Slaves - Criminals that have committed any of heinous crime below Murder. (One doesn't become a Slave by committing petty crimes unless it is a reoccurring theme) (Most Commonly tax fraud/Evasion/inability to pay debts)
(Religious Sect)
Grave Keepers - Are the beings that have completed enough training and govern a plot of land in which they process the deceased and protect the bodily remains of the deceased.
Priests - Are commonly mages who have complete training in which gives them insight into the affairs of Heavenly and Demonic spirits, and at times oversee a temple and act as its protector. (It is possible to be a Priest without magical ability, and its relatively common, it's just a tad bit rarer, though)
Apprentices - Beings that seek out and train to understand the dynamics of the planes of existence and the afterlife and protect the Mortal plan from spiritual threats.
(Miltary)
Mincridarn military service is a rigid society where hardly leeway is allowed, planning is necessary for every mission, and improvisational techniques are beaten into every cadet in case plans fail. The success of every mission and attack is mandatory, and when there is no chance to escape, die fighting. Though those are the primary military sentiments, abandoning your allies, your comrades is forbidden; no soldier dies alone. This ideal unites Human and Mincridarn soldiers.
(Uniform)
Military units are required to wear the desert camo while on duty, though it's not entirely practical in the city.
For formal engagements, soldiers are allowed to choose between formal blues or grays.
(Ranking)
After the unification of armies, Mincridarins decided to fall in line with the American Service ranks so there wouldn't any problems trying to figure out who was really in command. The thing that changed the most was how soldiers were classed and identified, rank patches mainly. The patches had turned into gray shields that were marked to identify soldier types.
Militia/Guards(MP)/Infantry : Identified mainly by an outlined gray shield marked with a white or black triangle to identify if the soldier's soul aligns with the heavenly or abyssal three elements. These units are the basic infantry that hasn't been given a unit class/specialty; they commonly make up the primary essential personal that do repairs and services around the base. There is an officer group that focuses on crime that serves as the sole police force for Avonmori.
Support : Identified by Green cross and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. These units act as combat medics, armorers, defensemen, and repairmen. They are also the essential staff in most hospitals. Defensemen are soldiers who specialize in magic and mainly defensive magic.
Assault : Identified by the sword that hangs behind the shield and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. This group focuses on direct attacks, whether that be with melee weapons and or guns; this group commonly includes Knights, Gunners, Heavy troopers, and Combat Artists and serves as the primary deployment force for missions beyond Avonmori's walls.
Rangers : Identified by horizontal bow behind the shield and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. This group focuses on scouting, sniping, assassinations, and solo and dual unit missions. Archers, Snipers, Night Watch, and Veils; the Veils are a unique Mincirdarn class commonly compared to Ninjas, but they are more magically capable of troops that are trained to Hide or "Veil" their magical presences completely making them invisible even to the naked eye. Veils common to matra were trained to hunt beasts from the shadows and use traps and deadly surprise attacks. Night Watch is Mincara's equivalent to Veils but tends to have a more brutal nature focusing on guerrilla warfare and crippling opponents rather than entrapping them.
Navy : Identified by the Sole anchor in the center of the shield and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. There isn't much of a naval force in Avonmori, mainly because there isn't water or ships around for the navy to use. So the Navy is mainly a proof of concept put on the back burner until a proper port in California can be established. There are some theories that the Navy might change thanks to the development of Airships. There is a specialization in the Navy referred to as the Deep Watch, units that focus on underwater combat.
Pilots/Flyers : Identified by the three planes flying across the shield and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. These are the Pilots jet and cargo, and Mincridarins that specialize in aerial combat.
Mages : Idenfitied by the Mark of the Gray God on the shield, the mages element and elemental counter will be colored to identity strength and weakness at a glance. Mages have all kinds of jobs in the military and commonly act as tech support or as soldiers in combat because of their versatile abilities.
Dragon Riders : Identified by the serpentine dragon on the shield and a black or white triangle to identify the soldier's soul alignment with the heavenly or abyssal three. Dragon Riders are mainly only called on for extremely dangerous missions and are commonly referred to as Commandos. Only powerful master Mages and Adestrian Knights are allowed to be Dragon Riders.
(Rank Progression)
Chevron- Represents a single mark in one's rank.
Bar- Represents a single set of three chevrons and equates to an officer's position. Two bars allow a promotion.
Frame- Represents an achievement of rank and is commonly awarded to Majors.
Star- The five or six-stars are awarded to general or knight; the max any general and knight is allowed to have is three.
All ranks follow a similar path; at certain points in a soldier's career, such as completing examinations at a certain percentage, physical prowess, and combat ability, they can be granted a Chevron. These chevrons hang below the shield, and three chevrons make a bar, and two bars means a chance for a promotion. This dynamic only changes for three distinct circumstances, Rangers don't get bars, they get arrows in a quiver that sits behind the shield, mages automatically start out at certain promotional ranks based on their magical rank, such as Apprentice/Mage/Master. Apprentices can get a max of 3 chevrons, a Mage gets a bar, and a max of three chevrons, a master get's a frame. A frame is three chevrons around the shield, and finally, Major's, once a soldier makes the rank of major every rank above that starts automatically with at frame. Generals can earn up to three stars and can change between the American five-point and the mincridarn six-point.
