Slayer or Layer 53

The curse, for lack of a better word, exploded. All three dragonesses were thrown across the chamber, with Lia thrown towards the tunnel that led back to the surface, Ashin backwards, and Lorkos straight up in the air. It was the only advantage that he was going to get, so he grabbed it and went with it. Throwing his wings out, he glided through the air, forelegs outstretched towards the red dragoness. She was only just getting to her feet as he slammed into her, knocking her over again. He went for a bite -
"Nnngh!"
Only for the curse to take effect again, sending him rolling sideways from the burning heat between his hind legs. The cursed protection still lay over Ashin, though not enough to completely subdue him. He managed to cuff her with a wing as he went over, and he even managed to stand on her wings.
The red dragoness growled, not yet looking back. Her voice rumbled through the earth below him as she glared straight ahead.
"Get off me...now."
"No...not until you remove the curse."
"Get off...or I will remove you."
"No."
"Fine."
Another explosion rocked the mountain, this one centering on her and sending him flying head over heels towards the cavern wall. He slammed against the stone, rolling down it and barely managing to land on all fours. It was for naught; the moment he landed, she was on him, slashing with forelegs and teeth alike, clawing the air and biting for any part of him that she could reach.
It was a desperate retreat at that point, with barely a glance spared for Lia. She was just starting to pull herself to her feet, but seemed untouched by the curse at large. That was good; that initial burst hadn't harmed her.
Rolling sideways, he managed to avoid one bite, only to take another to the tip of his tail. He roared in pain, sweeping his tail away...
And caught a different smell. A very different, yet, somehow familiar smell.
She...no, I'm not that lucky.
He ducked another sweeping foreleg, managing to avoid the curse in part by throwing himself towards her with his dodge. He shouldered into her belly, nearly turning her over, and hit the ground to avoid her counter-attack. Another swipe, another burst of -
No, there was no mistaking it. That was the smell of an aroused dragoness, one that had the heat of need running through her nethers. Yet, it wasn't him, and it wasn't Lia.
It was Ashin.
His desperate plan was working. The curse had been beaten and mutated and abused so many times that it couldn't hold together, and with another source of magic that was so strong and so close, it was latching onto her, affecting her almost as much as him. The hate, the anger, everything was forcing the spell to respond as if he was hating and attacking dragons, because as far as the magic was concerned, he was a dragon.
He grinned -
CRACK!
And promptly regretted it as Ashin's foreleg collided with him, finally. The blow caught him across the muzzle, sending him flying across the room. He landed with a thump on hard rock, denting it, cratering it, and he was half-sure that one of his wings was near to breaking from the impact. Groaning, he tried to roll to his feet, but his legs didn't want to obey him. They refused to roll properly, and he huffed for breath, realizing that he barely had air, too. The hit had been harder than he'd thought.
But that means...
With no small amount of satisfaction, he glanced back across the chamber, smiling as he saw Ashin all but collapse to her stomach, panting and huffing through clenched teeth. She clearly hadn't expected the strength of her own spell turned against her like this, and she had no defense against it, either. Her body curled, her hips pulling flush against the stone as instinct demanded satisfaction, pleasure. It bought him time, giving him the chance to get back to his feet.
"What...what did you..." Ashin gritted her teeth, lashing her tail in anger. "NNNNGH!"
"Hurts real good, doesn't it?" he muttered.
"What did you do to me?!"
"This is...this is what you did to me...what you refused to fix..."
The red dragoness snarled, and he could tell that she was trying to compose herself, trying to contain her anger, trying to bring her own power to bear to snap the spell apart. If that happened, if she managed to recover -
No. That would be the end of this. He rushed her, head lowered. Her eyes whipped up, and she redirected her power. Another blast of magic rushed toward him...and he let it hit him.
It hit him like the hand of a god, throwing him back across the cavern again and leaving him slumping down against the far side of the mountain. He groaned as his air was knocked clear out of his lungs, his eyes bouncing around in their sockets and feeling like his very brain was getting rattled around inside of his head from the blow. The doubt about whether he could use his wing anymore was displaced; there was no using it, it was busted.
But...
But...
As he opened one eye, he could see that the spell had settled yet further on the other dragoness. Ashin could not pull herself up, and she was screaming with her tail high in the air. The curse was wrapping itself tighter and tighter around her with each hateful - if defensive - act that she pulled, and it was punishing her for her attitude, for the way that she continued to hate him.
But as much as he watched her, he couldn't help but compare what she was going through to what had happened to him. He thought about all the times that he had been rendered out of control with lustful hate, and thought of how it had never come to this level. Not this fast, not this hard.
She must hate me very much...
Well, good. The feeling was mutual.
He couldn't get himself to his feet, though, and this time, he knew that it was going to bite him in the ass. His legs didn't want to work, and neither did his tail, and Ashin, hot and horny as she was, was slowly pulling herself back together. She glared at him from across the room, her eyes telling the story of what she would do to him when she was done dealing with the curse. Everything there screamed with pain and anger, everything that she blamed him for.
Yet, even as she slowly started to lower her tail -
"You did this to yourself."
Lia. The dragoness whipped her head around to the youngest of them, glaring, but Lia stood there, proud, defiant, and as truthful as ever.
"You did this to yourself. Everything that has gone wrong was something that you could have avoided."
"You...know...nothing..."
"You could have. You could have fixed my Lithia. You could have given less hate in the past. You could have done anything...but hate got you here...and hate will keep you here."
Lia had been approaching the whole time, and just as she finished her sentence, she lashed out. It was a slow blow, something that would not have done much damage if it hit, but it was not meant to hit. Just like what he had been doing, she was only trying to push Ashin into fighting back, to triggering the curse further.
And it worked. Another blast of magic sent Lia flying backwards, but unlike him, she managed to catch herself, throwing out her wings and floating back to the ground. She landed beside him, using her tail to help wedge him back to his feet. They stumbled about together before the air started tingling. Lorkos blinked, looking back at Ashin, and his eyes went wide as her magic swelled around her, the aura of her power so great that he could actually see it.
"...Cover. Get behind something. Now. Now!"
Father and daughter ran for the nearest cluster of rocks, stumbling as they went. Ashin roared at the top of her lungs, the spell completing just as they jumped...
And the explosion blinded them all.

Lorkos opened his eyes, and he realized one thing immediately. He was shorter than he had been, and...and that boded surprisingly well, actually. He lifted his forelegs, and was astonished to find that they were lifting up as arms, instead. The feeling had been absent so long that it almost didn't feel natural.
But there was more than that. His arms were no longer scaled, but furred, properly furred and looking like a wolf once more. He reached up, touched his face -
Yes, a muzzle rather than a snout, and ears that stood out to either side of his face rather than being nothing more than holes in the side of his head. A slow tremble ran through his limbs, his eyes flicking down his body, leaning forward to take another, closer look.
He had been changed back. Almost completely, but not quite, he realized as he noticed two things remaining. The shimmering scales around his crotch were still there, a pussy still standing out in brilliant array - though there was a cock above it now, thankfully - and on his chest, the scales that his children had come to give him were still there, still shining proudly even without light to illuminate them. He stood up again, feeling the ground beneath paws rather than the hard scales that he had been covered in, and his tail wagged with fluff and fur rather than with scales and sinuous muscles.
"Lithia..."
He whipped his head around. Lia had been turned back to her two-legged state, as well, though she was mostly the same as she had been. The curse, such as it was, had been lifted from the pair of them...mostly. He still had some bits, but even that was nothing compared to what it had been.
More to the point, there was something new for him, something that he didn't quite know how to deal with. It burned in his core, something like the tingling pressure that the curse had been on him, but different. Stronger, more his, rather than something that laid on him.
Magic, he imagined...perhaps his own, now.
Father and daughter glanced at each other, then at the rock that had shielded them from the latest magical blast. As one, they decided to look, and they peeked over the top together.
Instead of a red dragoness, all they saw was a small lizard woman, shorter than Lorkos by at least a foot, panting and shaking on all fours. Whatever grandeur that Ashin had enjoyed in the past was gone, replaced with nothing but this small, far more pathetic version of herself. And still, she shook, panting and shaking from head to toe as she struggled against the curse that -
Yes, the curse had settled upon her completely, now, though it had become something different from what little he could tell with his new magic. Lorkos cocked his head to the side as he looked her over, trying to understand what had happened precisely, but there was no clear answer. It had bound her into this new shape, and had pulled in tightly...very, very tightly, now that he thought about it, to the point where he wondered if the entire curse had been wrapped up in her again rather than being spread across the world.
"Lia...would you mind..."
"Checking the plateau?"
"Yes, please."
"Yes, Lithia."
"And Lia...thanks."
"Of course." She smiled, kissing his cheek. "Anything for pack."
As she left, he breathed out slowly, releasing a tension that he hadn't realized had been part of all the other things that he had been carrying. There was something to this, something that had come loose now that the curse was gone...and something that told him that he had done the right thing. She referred to them as 'pack', not as family. That...that was good.
He walked across the chamber, coming to a stop right in front of the once-dragoness. She groaned, slowly looking up at him.
"Nnngh...you...you won..."
"No...You just lost." He shook his head. "I don't think anyone could win here...but at least more people aren't going to lose between now and the end times."
"Nnngh...what...what will you do with me?"
"...Honestly, I was tempted to end you...but I don't know what the curse would do to me, then. But I can't just leave you here, so...come with me."
"..."
"I have much to see...and much to teach Lia, still. She has yet to see the wolves properly, and I want her to."
"They'll kill her, if they see her."
"No. I won't let them. She is pack...and they will understand that."
And there were other things that had to be done. Other parts of the world would need to understand the truth. Could he change the world on his own? No, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that he try, and if he succeeded, even with a few people, then there was a chance that would spread. He could at least make a start, and a start would turn into something else, as long as it kept going.
And it had to keep going. The world had almost broken under one dragon's curse. If another was placed, and it went further than his had, then there was every chance that the corruption would spread further, the magic decaying and warping and changing everything that it touched even further.
It had to end. It had to.
"So...come with me?"
"...I have little choice." Ashin sighed. "I hate - nnnngh!"
"...You'll get used to that."
The End
