"I can't get my brain to just accept that I am wanted. I hate that every time you have demonstrated that you want me in your life, my first reaction is to think you don't really mean it. It's cruel and unfair to you. I want to change. No, I_need_ to change. This has to stop before I ruin everything I want. Will you help me?"

He would do them with all his might, or die trying.

"Name them. Tell me what I must do." Serenity was glad he was taking this so well. Shi had been careful to not convey that they would be cruel or make unreasonable demands. "You are to do everything in your power to be the best you can be. That means taking care of your mental and emotional state. You are to be honest with us when you are not feeling well in any way. That also means to take steps to better your mind and your coping skills when you are low. To this end, we desire that you begin therapy with Amethyst as soon as possible. We ask this so we do not end up in codependence."

Travis could feel the dread and fear slipping away. With every word Serenity said, the dark thoughts that still nested below the surface were silenced.
