This is a mid-year review of how the sites Furbitron https://furbitron.com monitors are projected to fare for all of 2026, and how that compares to 2025.
tl;dr:
For 2026, only e621 and Furbooru are projected to have year-on-year growth, compared to 2025. All of the other sites Furbitron monitors are projected to have year-on-year declines between about 1.3% and 20%.
Furbooru submission ID 600,000 will probably happen in early September.

An outage and some updates
SoFurry had an outage that lasted from July 2025 to January 2026. They changed ISPs, servers, and site software all at once. The numbers that Furbitron has for 2026 and up are not comparable to the numbers through July 2025. There are more details about this below.
In July 2026, Furbitron added the Weasyl art comments experiment https://furbitron.com/experiments-06.html, and updated the log graphs, FA journals, FA art comments, and e621 art comments experiments.
Buzzly
Buzzly is projected to have about 8,340 submission IDs in 2026. This would be 11% lower than the 9,320 submission IDs in 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, Buzzly is averaging about 24 new posts a day.
FurAffinity
FurAffinity is projected to have about 4,090,000 submissions in 2026. This would be 1.3% lower than the 4,140,000 submissions in 2025, and would mark the sixth year ever where FA would not have year-on-year growth.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, FA is averaging about 11,300 new posts a day.
Furbooru
Furbooru is projected to have about 127,000 submission IDs in 2026. This would be 9.4% higher than the 116,000 submission IDs in 2025.
Furbooru submission ID 600,000 will probably happen in early September.
Furbooru launched in 2020, and had about 59,100 posts that year. Furbooru's best full year so far has been 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, Furbooru is averaging about 330 new posts a day.
FurryNetwork
FurryNetwork is projected to have about 13,700 submission IDs in 2026. This would be 20% lower than the 17,200 submission IDs in 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, FurryNetwork is averaging about 35 new posts a day.
Itaku
Itaku is projected to have about 191,000 submission IDs in 2026. This would be 14% lower than the 222,000 submission IDs in 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, Itaku is averaging about 550 new posts a day.
SoFurry
SoFurry is projected to have about 56,600 submission IDs in 2026. This number cannot be directly compared to the numbers for 2025 and before.
SoFurry's new software does not use integer submission IDs. Instead, it has an API that Furbitron queries every day. The API rounds all counts to the nearest 50.
Also, a Furbitron user noticed that up to July 2025, submissions and journals seemed to use the same number sequence on SoFurry. This was confirmed by a current SoFurry admin in July 2026. Therefore, Furbitron probably over-estimated the amount of submissions on SoFurry through July 2025. This over-estimate was possibly in the area of 7%, but could have been more or less than that.
Because of this, the numbers Furbitron can get for SoFurry in 2026 cannot directly be compared to the numbers from 2025 and before.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, SoFurry is averaging about 180 new posts a day.
Weasyl
Weasyl is projected to have about 87,100 submission IDs in 2026. This would be 13% lower than the 100,000 submission IDs in 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, Weasyl is averaging about 250 new posts a day.
e621
e621 is projected to have about 864,000 submission IDs in 2026. This is 7.1% higher than the 807,000 submission IDs in 2025, and would continue e621's history of year-on-year submission ID growth since 2009.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, e621 is averaging about 2,290 new posts a day.
e6AI
e6AI is projected to have about 53,800 submission IDs in 2026. This is 14% lower than the 62,400 submission IDs in 2025.
From mid-2025 to mid-2026, e6AI is averaging about 160 new posts a day.
e6AI specializes in AI-generated images. It is operated by the same people as e621, and uses the same software as e621.
Furbitron collects data and computes the statistics for e6AI daily, but does not display the graphs for e6AI.
Notes and disclaimers
The year-end projections are are linear extrapolations to 2026-12-31, based on data from 2026-01-01 (all except SoFurry) or 2026-02-10 (SoFurry) to 2026-06-30. The posts-per-day numbers are from Furbitron's regular daily statistics on 2026-07-01.
The submission ID counts in this post have been rounded off. They should be within about 1% of the un-rounded counts.
The owners of the various sites can directly query their site's database, so they may publish slightly different numbers than are found here.
The numbers here come from Furbitron's monitoring of the sites listed. The historical data was mostly gathered from the sites in September 2021. e621 and Furbooru both provide a dump of their site database, so the historical data for e621 came from that dump in September 2021, and the historical data for Furbooru came from that dump in April 2025.
Since then, Furbitron has done "live" monitoring of each site, once a day.
