#1 of Sins of the Angels

Pt. 1

I am an Angel. But I am a Demon. I take life, to save it. I am not a person, I am a number. I am number 72. I will forget my life, but keep my memories. My love shall encourage me hate. My weakness will be my greatest strength. I will not spare any life that treads the path before my goal. I will not stray. I will stay faithful, no matter the consequences. An Angel until Death.

This is the vow I took when I joined them. My Father destroyed my Faith. My Faith destroyed my Life. My goal throughout my entire existence has been revenge. To destroy him. To kill my Father.

I was Kane Hawthorne. Now I am simply 72. 1 of 100 members of an elite assassin team known as Death Angels. I have seen... done horrible things in my past. I still have more to come. I am about to face the greatest challenge of my life...

The school bell rang as the students rushed into the building. In a corner of the schoolyard, a young Red Wolf sat, Scribbling in a small sketch book. He was ripped from his daydreaming by his friend Thorin screaming his name from the entrance sidewalk. His ears perked up as his gaze emptily raised to his friend, who was waving frantically, calling to him, explaining that they would be late if they delayed any longer. Hayden rose to his feet, in a slow steady motion, and began walking to the waiting Wolf-Cat (Wat). He stood in front of his friend and stared blankly into his eyes.

"Hey, you with the face." Thorin started, "You seem extra emo today."

"You're one to talk Mr. I'm gonna write a story about cutting myself and getting sent to Hell for it."

"That was one time! And it's not like I actually did it. Anyway, off the subject. Have you seen the new guy? Oh, he's so hot!"

"Hey, watch it girly, you have a man."

"Hey, I have a penis, thank-you."

"And be damn happy about it."

Thorin only replied by sticking out his tongue.

"And, no, I haven't seen him. And quite frankly, I could care less."

With that, the conversation ended. They began walking into the building, but were stopped by a black and white canine getting out of his car. He ran toward them, and as he came into view, Hayden and Thorin realized who it was.

"Dukie! Hurry up or we'll all be late!" Thorin called out.

Dukie finally caught up to the two, panting heavily.

"So..." He started, "Hayden. Did you consider my question?"

"Dukie, we've been over this. I'm not going out with you."

"But, just one--"

"No."

"How about a mo--"

"No."

"Maybe some din--"

"I said no."

Dukie was silent for a moment, "I--"

"No."

Dukie grunted with disappointment, "I'll never find someone."

"Stop being emo." Thorin said with a grin, "You'll find someone."

"Prove it."

"Shut up."

The three entered the building and split up to go to their lockers. Hayden waved to his friends and headed up the stairs. On the second floor, as he headed down the hallway, he bumped into a strange black wolf, knocking both of them to the ground. Hayden fell hard, landing flat on his back. The black wolf simply landed and thrust himself back to his feet, immediately extending his hand, offering Hayden help with getting up. Hayden recovered from his daze and saw the wolf's hand in front of his face. He took the hand with his own and pulled himself up to his feet. Brushing himself off he apologized and picked up both of their books, handing those that weren't his to the other wolf. The black wolf simply nodded and walked away.

"Wait! What's your name." Hayden called, but with no reply. The wolf was too far away to hear. "Damn. I'm gonna be late! I can't afford to be late again!" He began sprinting down the near empty hallway, and entered the door to his classroom just before the bell rang. 'Oh thank God.' He sat in his seat and realized the wolf he had bumped into earlier was sitting behind him.

He turned around and spoke, "How did you get here? You walked the other way. I barely made and you were here before me?" He got no reply, only a gesture for him to turn back around and answer roll call, "Here!" He shouted from the back of the room. He turned back around to see the black wolf was missing. He looked around the room, and saw the wolf at the front. 'What the? Has he been there? Wait a minute. Something's not right with this guy...'
