Secrets of Unrequited Love
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...
Hi, i'm sin Dragon, i'm a new writier and this is my work in progress, i update it periodically and would like as much feedback about it as possible. thank you. :)
Kyan stepped out of his SUV and gazed up at the melancholic grey sky as the snow fell to the ground. It was another day at the office where he worked for hours upon end. He worked as an office assistant at Clove Incorporated in northern Michigan, where he would normally spend about seven to ten hours signing papers, sorting files, and making phone calls. Kyan was a tall, yet slender white husky, with ocean blue eyes that sparkled in the sunlight. His co-workers usually complemented him on his looks, and all the girls would try and entice him. All the while his mind was elsewhere on someone who was much more important to him than they would ever know. He couldn't wait to get home.
Kyan was sorting his papers and didn't notice his supervisor had walked up to him and was trying to get his attention. "Kyan? Your shift is over; it's time for you to head home. Amanda is here to cover you for the rest of the night. You've been working so hard for the last 2 weeks, take tomorrow off," He patted him on the head before smiling and walking away.
Kyan ruffled up a few of his extra things and hugged Amanda before he rushed out of the office building. He loaded up his SUV and stopped for a minute just listening to the silent falling of the ivory snow around him. Starting the vehicle, he let out a sigh and said to himself, "I'll be home soon, just wait a few more minutes."
On his way home, driving through the freeway thoughts of the one he loved began to pour through his head, flashbacks to the day Gage proposed to him, to the day after the wedding.
Gage was quite the different pick, that's why Kyan loved him so much. He acts as though sometimes he is in his own world, because of the proper way he talks, and how he acts. Though, he never loses touch with reality.
"Kyan, there's something I've always wanted to ask you," Gage happily giggled looking at Kyan from him being upside down so he flipped over and walked to him.
"What Hun? There couldn't be much you haven't asked," Kyan responded taking a drink of his sweet tea.
Gage went to the other room and grabbed something, while Kyan was trying to be nosy and got a bump on the nose for doing so. He then sat Kyan down and looked him in his blue eyes.
"I knew, when I met you, there was something so special about you that I couldn't deny to anyone, even myself. I love you more than anything in this world and I would die for you. I will protect you from any harm. Will you marry me?" Gage said opening a small black box with a diamond ring in it
The husky began to cry and hugged his lover and said, "Yes baby, I will marry you. Nothing could make this day any more perfect."
Hearing this, Gage lifted Kyan up into his arms and walked with him through the house into the bedroom where he softly laid him down and pulled his shirt off, along with his mate's. He walked over to the bed and leaned over Kyan looking in his eyes and saying to him softly before locking their lips,
"I love you sweetheart."
"I love you too," Kyan said as their lips softly touched as he lightly pushes his tongue into Gage's mouth and rubs up and down his chest.
Several minutes go by of the two passionately rolling their soft muzzles on one another, before Gage was gazing at his mate's body. Gage gently puts his hand on Kyan's chest and caresses it with a touch, as if he were a baby. While he's nibbling on his neck causing Kyan to squirm with pleasure. Gage's hand slowly goes lower to Kyan's shorts, where he could already feel his arousal from the bulge in his shorts and he gives it a little rub and squeeze and looks at Kyan and says,
"I see someone is feeling a bit frisky why don't we get you out of those shorts, little one?" He removes Kyan's Shorts and boxers to a revealing member staring back at him, while Kyan had a mischievous smile on his face.
"Why don't you come and get some? You're not afraid of it, are you?" He said taunting his love a bit to come back over.
"Never would I be afraid it. It's only that much more of a challenge that I must conquer" Gage muttered as he gave it a small lick from base to tip sending a cold shiver up Kyan's body. He moaned with pleasure from his loves warm, moist tongue. Closing his eyes, Gage continued only making Kyan squirm and moan even more.
Gage soon pulled away and took off his pants and climbed back over his love and looked down as he rose up Kyan's legs, "Are you ready, Hun?"
Kyan closed his eyes, sighed and smiled, "Yes babe, I am."
Gage slowly slides into Kyan causing him to scream his name out loud at the pleasure and how deep he was going. He was going to slow, to ensure that he did not hurt Kyan with his thrusting. Increasing his speed, which also increased the moaning coming from both of them. A musky smell had begun to fill the room. Gage had started to speed up even more, he was close to reaching his climax and Kyan was ready to feel it. Gage gave one last push into his mate and howled as he reached his climax causing Kyan to as well. He looked down at his mate that his belly and chest was covered, and give his head a small lick and rubbed his body with two fingers and licking them. Gage pulled out and re-adjusted himself down beside Kyan before pulling him close. As the two were cuddling close, they began to reflect on how wonderful it was.
"That was the best sex, we've ever had. It was like an eagle lifted me high on it's wings, soaring higher than a cloud," Kyan said as he laid his head down on his lover chest.
"It was, wasn't it? Only the best with the one I love. I wouldn't do it with anyone else, nor think about it," Gage replied pulling Kyan closer before they both drifted off to sleep.
Kyan came back to reality, only to realize he almost missed his exit. He made a quick turn onto the ramp and was happy to be back in his town, and on his way home.
Back at home, was Kyan's love, Gage. He was a well-built German Shepard who also had a soft and feminine side. He was happily tidying up the house listening to his favorite song. Making sure to watch the clock so he had enough time to get everything in place before Kyan got home.
"I have roughly about 30 minutes before Kyan will be pulling up, I have a lot to do!" He thought to himself as he headed towards the kitchen to grab a few things to set up dinner.
From the pantry he grabbed the spaghetti sauce, some noodles and a few spices; heading to the sink he filled a large pot with water and sat it on the stove. Gage finally realized he was in his torn jeans and no shirt, because he was cleaning, so he went into his room and changed into a pair of khaki shorts, and a somewhat form-fitting orange Netherlands shirt. He ended with a quick look in the mirror to make sure everything was in order and that he didn't look too dreadful.
On his way back to the kitchen, while he placed the noodles in the water, he thought about how long him and Kyan had been together. He remembered times where they've had their arguments, the times they would just sit and hold each other not even noticing time going by for hours. He walked over to the sink and looked up at the sky with his mind pondering around about different things. He grabbed a few Vanilla and Brown sugar candles from the closet and lit them on the table to create an elegant yet somber atmosphere.
He heard the car door close as Kyan was walking up the path to the front door. Gage quickly ran back into the kitchen and finished up the food as Kyan walked through the door.
Kyan hung his coat up and said, "Honey, I'm home from work, and I believe I smell something delicious," He turned to look at Gage with a smile.
Gage came out of the dining room and leaned on the door with a somewhat seductive smile, "Welcome home, you sexy dog."
Kyan walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek and saw the elegant table-scape and smelled the aroma of the Vanilla candles and smiled widely "Oh babe, it's beautiful. It must've taken you hours to set this up!"
Gage came up behind him and hugged him around the waist, "Not at all, dear."
Gage lets go and grabs a small bottle of wine out of the fridge, and a few glasses before he pulls out Kyan's chair for him to sit down. They both have a seat at the small table lit up by candlelight. The two begin chatting about how their day was, and all the funny things that happened then a little while after their plates were pretty much empty, Gage sighed and looked at Kyan with serious eyes.
"Kyan, has anything been bothering you lately? Like have you had mixed feelings about anything?"
"No, nothing has really been bothering me other than you always staring at my behind," Kyan sat his wine glass down and giggled a bit.
"Hey! It's not my fault if it's cute and squishy" Gage responded feeling a bit embarrassed by what Kyan had said.
The couple continued reminiscing about their days and some things that was going on in their minds. After dinner Kyan went to the bedroom to change while Gage pulled his shirt off and was pulling up Netflix on the game console. Kyan was thinking about what Gage had asked him, and he had noticed a bit of a change in Gage's behavior lately when they would take time to talk seriously. He brushed it off as bit of bad thoughts, or maybe just a feeling. He walked into the living room and was watching his mate get frustrated with the Xbox so he walked over and offered to help.
"Hun, are you having trouble?" Kyan giggled.
Gage sits on the floor with his arms crossed like a young kid, "This thing isn't working! It's stupid."
Kyan used the controller to move around and make some adjustments and looked at Gage, "That wasn't hard at all, you're so cute when you get frustrated."
Gage got up and moved over to the couch feeling embarrassed with his ears splayed back watching Kyan. Kyan stuck his tongue out before moving over beside him. Gage puts his arm around Kyan as they begin to watch a War Movie together. An hour or so goes by with them cuddling and watching the movie, then Gage feels something warm and wet on his arm. He looks down at Kyan softly crying trying to hide it so that no one would see him.
"Hey... why're you crying?" Gage spoke softly lifting Kyan's head up.
"I don't want to lose you!" Kyan cried burying his head in Gage's chest.
All he could do was hold him and comfort him. He had no idea what to think or say to what Kyan had just said. He thought to himself 'Maybe it was just the movie, or maybe something's been going on that I need to talk to him about, but if he wants to talk to me about he will, I shouldn't try to force it out of him right now." He turned off the movie and laid back holding Kyan softly on top of him as he cried.
"Baby... please don't cry," Gage, said rubbing his back and kissing head softly. "I'm not going anywhere, so don't you worry."
Kyan lifted his head up, his eyes red and puffy from crying and kissed Gage with a few final tears and smiled "Please don't ever leave me..."
The couple got up from the couch and stretched and decided it was time for them to head to bed. Kyan went to the bathroom and washed his face while Gage was brushing his teeth. They made fun of each other making awkward face and weird poses before Kyan rushed out of the bathroom and jumped in bed. Gage soon joined him.
"Are you sure, there is nothing bothering you?" Gage looked down at Kyan who as adjusting himself closer to him.
"Yes, I promise nothing is wrong," Kyan softly laid his head down on Gage's chest and rested silently unaware what was going through his lovers head.
Gage had awoken around 5am; he hugged Kyan softly and adjusted him so that he didn't wake him up. He put on his Boots, his camouflage pants, and a light green form-fitting shirt before closing the bedroom door behind him. He downed a large glass of water before heading out of the house. For his training, he would always start his day with a run of 2 miles, 250 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 pull-ups. He started with his run down the flat road, which he was glad to be on, unlike the sand he was used to running in for long periods of time. Gage is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp.; He didn't want to think about his job while he was off-duty for the moment.
Back at home; Kyan was slowly stirring from the bed even though he knew Gage would never want him to wake up so early. He was thinking about Gage's job, and the dangers that would always come while he was brewing the coffee. There have been times when Kyan would be by himself for months, while Gage was out risking his life for his love. The coffee was done brewing he poured him a cup and sat down at the table awaiting Gage to return home after his morning routine.
Gage began increasing his jog, to a steady run so he could back to the house as fast as possible, because he didn't want to miss a moment, before he had to tell Kyan the news. He stopped running by the time he reached the front yard, so that way he had to time to catch his breath before walking into the house. He saw Kyan sitting at the table with a smile on his face and said "What're you doing up, pup?"
Kyan took a drink and sat the mug down on a coaster, "I was waiting on you to come home."
Gage poured himself a mug of coffee, added some milk and cream. He then walked over to Kyan and sat down beside him, "hun, there is something that I need to tell you." He looked out the window
Kyan reached over and caressed his love's hand as he sees a tear run down his cheek, "You have to go back soon, don't you?" he wipes the tear from his eye.
Gage looked back at him and then down at the mug of coffee, "Yes babe, very soon. I ship out in 4 days, I've got to train and work as much as I can."
Even though Kyan knew, he was distraught about his love leaving, he gripped his hand softly and gave him a rather annoyed stare, "You know, I really hate you being in the marines. You have to go for months on end somewhere you could end up getting yourself killed!" he started to get upset. "I'm tired of it, I want you here with me!" Kyan stood up quickly with tears forming in his eyes.
Gage looked down at the table before standing up and giving Kyan a stern, yet gentle look, "I'm doing this, for you. If there's no one to protect you, you could die. That's why I go out there and do my damned hardest and work my ass off." By this point, Gage was raising his voice and was rather upset at Kyan.
Kyan walked away from Gage and went into their room and slammed the door. He sat on the bed by himself, curled up and crying. Him and Gage have never argued like that before, Kyan was scared of what might happen. Back in the dining room, Gage got up and went into the living room, sat in the chair by the window and was crying. He thought to himself, "How could I raise my voice like at him? He was being so stubborn, I didn't know how else to get the point across. I should go check on him." Gage hesitated; he didn't want to cause any more problems. Gage sat by the window and had awoken a few hours later realizing that he had fallen asleep and it was about 11:30am.
Gage entered the room and saw Kyan fast asleep on the bed, cuddling with a pillow. He pulled up a blanket and kissed his head softly, "I love you, Kyan. Please don't ever forget that." He changes his clothes into a pair of casual jeans, and a Beatles shirt before closing the door softly behind him.
Gage pulls out his phone and gave his buddy Shayn a call, to see if he was free to get some lunch together. Shayn answers the phone, "Hello?"
"Shayn! It's Gage, how've you been man?" Gage said with a smile on his face happy to talk to Shayn again.
"I've been pretty good, definitely not looking forward to seeing you being shipped out here soon." He responded with somewhat of a monotone.
"I know bud, me either. Hey, I was wondering if you were busy right now? So maybe we could grab some lunch?" Gage said slipping on his sandals.
"Nah, I'm not too busy. I'll meet you at Olive Garden in say, about 15 minutes?" Shayn queried looking at his watch.
"That sounds great! See you there." Gage hung up the phone and grabbed his keys. He made sure to leave a small note for Kyan when he wakes up. Gage put the note on the refrigerator and walked out the door shutting it silently behind him.
He got in his car and looked back at the house. He sighed and drove off heading to Olive Garden. On his way, he thought long and hard about the argument him and Kyan had, while his heart was feeling heavy. He wanted to make it up to Kyan, because he'd never done that to him before, so he thought of a way to make it up to him after he had a nice talk with Shayn.
He saw Shayn as he pulled into the parking lot and gave him a wave. He got out and saw Shayn coming towards him to give him a hug, "Hey man! I haven't seen you in quite sometime! You look, very dashing." Shayn smiled. Shayn was quite the tall fox. He was a little bit taller than Gage, and much taller than Kyan, he attended the gym regularly and that sure did show on his physique.
"Man, you're catching up to me with those muscles!" Gage felt somewhat jealous at how Shayn looks since the last time those two saw each other, only a few months ago.
They go up to the cashier and request a small table outside for just two. She hands them two cups, before showing them to their table. Gage nudges Shayn and whispers, "She sure is cute, don't you think?" Gage giggles.
"I thought you didn't like girls, Gage?" Shayn smirks.
"I don't, but I'm sure you were checking her out." Gage stuck his tongue out and laughed.
Shayn rolled his eyes and thumped him on his head before walking over to the drink machine and getting them both some sweet tea. He comes back to notice Gage just staring off into the distance, "You ok?" Shayn sat down.
Gage takes a drink, "Yeah, there's just something that's been bothering me."
The waitress comes over and asks what they want. Shayn orders a Caesar salad and Gage orders a Chef's salad. He looks back at Gage and says, "What is it?"
Gage let's out a big sigh before he began to explain, "I've been in the USMC for about 4 years now, and I've been married to Kyan for about two and a half of those years. I've known Kyan, just about all of my life. A few days before I signed up, he asked me to be his boyfriend, he would always tell me how much he admired me, and all the times we've had. We've been best friends for as long as I can remember. Me being away for months at a time, has put a real strain on us both, I somewhat took it out on Kyan this morning, and I feel really bad."
Shayn crossed his arms and sighed, "You've got to take this military thing a little bit softer with Kyan. He's not what you call "The Tough Type" he's really sensitive when it comes to you. He's talked to me a few times about it. He tells me, he feels like you're a totally different person when you come back from being shipped over. It may just be, that you're re-adjusting to normal civilian life for a little bit, but I'm not entirely sure. Just take it easy on him, okay?" Shayn smiled.
Gage laughed a bit and smiled, "You're such a punk, you know that? You always know what to say, and how to say it. I hate that I can't." Gage watched the waitress as she brought them their food.
The two began to eat and coheres about the times they haven't seen each other, or talked. Gage told storied about his trips to Iraq, and what it's like over there. Contrary to what many believe, it's not as bad as the media states, Gage would know, he's been there about 4 times.
Back at home, Kyan had woken up and rubbed his eyes. He walked out of the bedroom curious as to where Gage had left to, he saw a note on the refrigerator that read 'Hey bud, I went to Olive Garden with Shayn for lunch. We're doing some much needed catching up; I'll see you in a little while. Love you puppy, ~Gage.' Kyan smiled and looked at the dishes from dinner last night and gave a look of agony, but then laughed. "Guess it's time for me to clean. Ha-ha."
Kyan pranced into the bedroom and changed into casual clothes, rather than in his pajama's he had on from the night before. He put on a pair of jeans, and T-shirt. As he was walking out of the room, his foot stumbled on the frame of the door and he came tumbling down, but he was not hurt, he merely laughed hysterically before standing up and brushing himself off.
He slowly got working on the dishes, while he watched out the window at the kids playing and the birds flying around having a good time. He would usually do this whenever he was cleaning or by himself, because he would think aboutwhenever Gage had to leave, or waiting for the day Gage would come home. He began to space out and almost cut his hand on a knife, he felt a tear fall from his eye, but he smiled and wiped it away.
He thought, "I miss him, I wish we hadn't argued today." He sighed and finished washing the dishes before migrating from the kitchen to outside to take a light stroll around and just get some fresh air.
As he walked down the street, he thought of several years ago, when he was living by himself, he would always think about Gage, before they were even together. He wandered into the park and sat down on a bench, and gazed up at the azure sky.
He watched as the birds quietly flew around, he sometimes wished he had wings so he could fly around and go wherever he wanted without any boundary.
"Hey Kyan! How's it going buddy?" a voice called from a decent distance away.
Kyan turned around and looked wondering where the voice had come from or who it had said it. He noticed his friend Axel, a skinny Doberman who he'd known for a few years.
"Hey Axel! How're you?" Kyan replied standing up and heading over to him with a smile.
Axel gave Kyan a hug as he approached him, "Gosh! I haven't seen you in forever!" Axel looked in his eyes.
Kyan offered Axel a seat beside him on the bench, "Life's been pretty good, still some problems with Gage and his job. Just trying to cope with stress as usual." Kyan looked off in the distance as if something else was on his mind, he turned his softly to look at Axel.
"Is there anything else on your mind, bud?" Axel looked at him with a quizzical stare. Axel knew when Kyan was lying or not telling him everything, and he would always pester him until he told him.
"There's a lot on my mind, sometimes it's just tough to put it into words because there's just so much. When you try to explain it the way you feel, no one can ever really understand even though you explain it a thousand times in different ways. I love him to death, he means the world to me, it's just becoming harder and harder to deal with every single time he leaves, I don't think I can handle much more of it!" Kyan started to become upset and quietly sob; Axel didn't really know what to do other than hug him.
"It's going to be alright, he only has what? One more *required* year then he is allowed to come home for good? You can do it just one more time, man. I believe in you! I know you can do it." Axel reassured Kyan with a smile. Kyan looked up at him and wiped away his tears.
