Slipping carefully behind the waterfall, Tsume entered the cave. She'd been dying to explore this place ever since she was a kid but her father never let her, thinking it might've been too dangerous. She just hoped it was actually Rovdyr's sister and not the former himself... nah, Korban would never mislead her like that; Korban was a friend after all, and an ally. He wouldn't assume it wasn't Rovdyr without making sure for himself. Besides, if it was Rovdyr, he'd picked a dumb place to hide; Tsume could bring down this cavern with a mere stomp of her foot.

She paused. "Come to think of it how does Korban even know anyone at all is here?"

<Because it was him who brought me.>

Tsume jumped in start, looking around frantically. "Who said that; where are you?"

<I'm the one you're looking for, miss. My name is Kodaku; I am Rovdyr's sister,> replied the voice. Telepathy, Tsume realized. <As for where I am, I'm at the back of the cave, in a small chamber. If you wish to speak to me, find me there.>

Tsume considered the words for a moment. "You won't attack?"

<If I intended you any harm, I wouldn't have even let you approach,> Kodaku replied. <But if you don't trust me, feel free to go back. I won't stop you.>

Tsume considered it for a moment, looking back at the cave entrance, but she had come this far, and thought she might as well see it through, but kept her hand on the knife slung to the belt loop on the back of her kapri's, ready in case of an attack.

She walked on, until she came upon the chamber, and peered inside. It was fairly dark inside and she didn't see Kodaku anywhere. Although she did see a paler figure in the darkness. "Kodaku?" she called.

The pale outline moved. "I am here," she replied. "I don't recognize you. What brings you here, Miss...?"

"My name is Tsume, and actually, I needed to ask you something," replied Tsume.

"You want to know about my brother," Kodaku stated firmly, alarming Tsume. "No, I didn't read your mind."

"Then how'd you know what I was thinking?" asked Tsume, suspiciously.

"Because two others have come here with the exact same questions in mind," replied Kodaku. "Their scents are on you... the dogs' quite strongly. I assumed that meant you're a friend of theirs."

Tsume felt herself blush slightly. Korban's scent was still on her? She'd slept with him a few days back, before he'd told her about this, but she'd showered at least six times since then and his scent was still on her? Volcan's scent wasn't surprising as they lived in the same apartment complex; likely his scent hung onto her with all the times they met on the stairs or hung out, but Tsume hadn't been in Korban's presence in a while.

"You've got keen senses there, Kodaku," complimented Tsume.

"I'm a naga; it's a given," replied the snake, giggling.

"Is there a light in this chamber somewhere? A candle, lamp; anything? I'm blind as a bat in here," Tsume questioned.

She heard Kodaku slithering around, and saw some movement from the pale outline in the darkness. A second later she heard the striking of a match, and the room was filled with the light of a small flame, which moved to the side, becoming two flames as it did, and then three; the two additionals were  a pair of well-used candles that were close to burning out at this point, the first was a match, which Kodaku waved about to douse the flame before tossing the used match aside. As the candles came to life, Tsume saw more of Kodaku.

"Better?" asked the snake.

"Mu-uch..." stammered Tsume.

"I can understand, Kodaku. I have two siblings myself," replied Tsume. "They're both older, and pains in the neck, but they're not out hurting people."

Kodaku nodded, sadly. "I know... but I fear all I can say is that he has all the same powers that I do," she began. "Hydromancy, the manipulation of water, telekinesis, telepathy, and Illusion magic, such as hypnosis and creating hallucinations. He's skilled with a glaive and has a venomous bite, and of course he often uses his tail to attack as well."

          Tsume nodded. "That's about it?"

          "To be brief, yes, but I can also say he has extensive skill in all of them," replied Kodaku. "Anything else you wish to know?"

          Tsume sighed, somewhat disappointed. "Not unless you can tell me his weakness," she said.

          "His obsession for the hunt could indeed be a weakness, but... that may not be enough," said Kodaku. "I'm sorry. I wish I could be more help. Any other weaknesses he might have, even he doesn't know them, else I would as well."

          "How?" asked Tsume.

          "When we still lived together we always had a psychic link; I knew his thoughts, he knew mine. But he severed that when he left," replied the naga. "I haven't sensed his thoughts since."

          "So you don't know where he is either?" asked Tsume. When Kodaku shook her head, the Earth Phoenix sighed again. "Well, damn... I'm sorry for intruding on you. If you'd like, I'll go now."

          "Actually," Kodaku said. "Would you mind staying? It's been a while since I had a chance to talk with another woman. And I'd enjoy the company if that's alright."

          Tsume considered it for a moment, and then shrugged. "Why not? Never met a naga before... well, that's not true; I've met your brother but that wasn't exactly a friendly session."

          Kodaku chuckled. "No, I imagine it wasn't." She rolled over to lie on her back as Tsume sat down on the floor next to the makeshift bed. "What about you? What's to know?"

          "Well, I work as a gardner, my dad's a rich entrepreneur in real-estate, mom's a social nutcase, and my two sisters are crazy," Tsume replied.

          Kodaku giggled in a sinister manner. "Sounds like you have quite the drive," she said.

          "Yep! And not ashamed of it," she said. "I mean, I'm a champion knife-fighter and a martial artist. But what do I do for a living? I garden, which I love, but I like to have some real fun every now and then."

          "And what sort of men do you like?" asked Kodaku.

          "The kind that can keep up with me," replied Tsume. "You'll find I'm quite full of energy."

          Kodaku's forked tongue flicked out. "So you're the kind who likes to have a long night?"

          Tsume nodded. "Most guys just can't handle it though," she chuckled. "But some prove to be a good partner."

          "I can tell you're not just into guys, though," replied Kodaku.

          Tsume's eyes widened and she looked intently at the snake. "Are you reading my mind?"

          "I don't have to," replied Kodaku, rolling onto her front again and propping herself up on her elbows. "You've been watching me in such a way ever since you got here, I can tell you find me attractive."

          Tsume giggled. "Attractive AND observant; wonder if anything slips past you?"

          "I have had much time to learn the ways of others. I'm older than I look," she replied.

          "More than 200 years," replied Kodaku. "And my... tastes do not change easily."
