Chains of the Soul ~First Link: That Fateful Moment~ As the sun rises above the horizon Setting off a streak of light that pierces the dark Just as a baby's cries breaks the silence of the room Why does the baby yearn for answers so? The longer it stays innocent the better off the baby will be Yet it yearns for knowledge and understanding Until it comes to the grim realization of the reality that he awakens towards. Sunlight breaking through the branches of a tranquil forest as a lone man breathes in the fresh air surrounding him. It was nice and peaceful this morning, it was a perfect time to hunt game. With sword in hand he searches for food for his family. This was no ordinary man for you see he only walked and moved like one. This man was a beastmen, of the wolf variety. The man was an anthropomorphic wolf who was one of the hunters for his village. Wearing light grey armor that allowed him to move swiftly through the woods as he pleased, he spotted his target in the distance. He was powerfully built, a rugged face, a scar down his left cheek from constant fighting, a true warrior.
A wild Bouxar with blue fur an about five times the size of what looks like a common boar yet is accompanied with spikes growing out of its spine. It was enough food to feed his family for about three days. The boar was drinking water from a nearby puddle created from yesterday's rainfall. It was off guard one swift strike should do him in. The hunter held his blade steady his eye on the prize. Just as he was about to strike a loud noise echoed throughout the forest. The boar was startled and left, the hunter missed his chance. The sound was that of a child's cry. It's dangerous for a child to be out in the forest, and thus the hunter went towards the source of the noise quickly to see what was going on. What he found was a spot he had never seen in the forest. Light was shining down so vividly on a bed of the most beautiful flowers that was glistening with dew. In the center of the flower bed was a young child roughly one year old. The hunter sheathed his sword and went to pick up the crying kid. Cradling it in his arms he tried to calm down the kid. The tears soon stopped flowing and a smile was soon upon his face.
The child was very odd; it had no fur on its body except for some on its head of the color brown. There was no one around for miles who would leave this child out in the woods, the hunter was thinking to himself. The hunter left the grotto and headed back home; this was no place to hunt with a child in his arms. The young boy reached out and touched the hunter's brown fur and smiled. Taken aback the hunter blinked at the sight of such innocence yet something strange was happening. The young boy who was once furless had grown fur all over its body. Its facial features which looked nothing like a wolf started to change rapidly. If he
didn't know better it looked like one of his own pups. Was that just an illusion? He wondered as he touched the newly held wolf pup. His fur was real, and everything checked out, even his tail. This was no time to be standing alone in the forest; he had to return to his hunting crew and journey back to the village. It was relatively safe on the way back he reached a small village in which he resided. The other members of the hunting crew where both surprised and ecstatic that there was a wolf pup surviving alone in the dense wilderness. The hunter who found it, named Ren, volunteered to take care of the child since he had children of his own and his wife has been asking for another child anyway. Back at the village and entering the log cabin house he resided at the edge of the town, he rushed to tell his wife the news. "Uh honey? Great news! We have a new child!"
The wife, named Luna, had a slender body with brown fur wearing a white dress and holding one of her own children in her arms. Her gentle blue eyes widened as she saw her husband. She was currently holding her first child in her arms. A young wolf boy named Sen who looked about 3 years old. She placed the child down and told him to go play in the other room. The young pup scampered to the next room as a scene was about to unfold that he was too young to understand."A child? Why you two timing sex fiend! Don't tell me you had a mistress behind my back?" the wife said irritated gazing at him with an aura that could kill. Upon getting up from her seated position on the rocking chair she gasped at the child he brought home. It looked just like her husband looked like as a baby from old family photos. The resemblance was uncanny. While this further added to her earlier claim her husband quickly explained to her the situation, not mentioning that it once had no fur. For added proof he said he said that the other hunters saw him take the pup out of the woods.
Leaning up close to her husband she kissed him and took the new child in her arms. The child smiled at her and she smiled in return. "Well then looks like we'll have a lot more to do around here. What should we name him?"The father thought and said, "Let's name him Arden. It means great forest which is perfect since that's where I found him!" "Arden...I like it...welcome to your new home Arden!" the woman smiled. "Also honey...I'm pregnant again..."Ren stood there in shock with a blank stare. He thought to himself, "How many kids does this woman want?"
