The predators hunger (Short Scene)
#1 of Chakats
Perhaps I will use it at some time in the (distant?) future in a story about my Fursona.
Just a short scene I had to get out of my head.
Additionally it served as a test for my first story-like text in english (I am not a native speaker, so I had no idea if the wording, for example, would be troubling or not).

The awakening came suddenly. One moment there was the dream of running over open plains quite similar to those surrounding the hunter home, while on the next it's eyes shot wide open. Awoken by the ravenous hunger rumbling in it's stomaches. An almost painfull emptiness. Just like some restless beast prowling through his intestines. Slowly lifting it's body off the bedding it was sleeping on, it came to a stand in the dim light of the early morning. The sun not having risen above the horizon yet, it was indeed an almost complete darkness that surrounded the hunter. Ignoring this fact because of it's highly developed night vision, it started the hunt.
Cautiously setting one paw before the other, making sure to not alert possible prey, it solwly made it's way to the hunting grounds. Using it's nose and ears to help navigating on the treacherous path. Carefully shoving one last obstacle out of the way it arrived in it's destination. And there it was: The prey. Lying on a low elevation it was peacefully snoring in it's sleep. Oblivious of it's surroundings and the impending attack. Pressing it's body flat to the ground, the hunter got ready to pounce, measuring the distance by sight and hearing. Flexing it's mussles it lifted itself off the ground, heading for it's target. With a mighty roar it landed on the startled prey. Wasting no time the hunter began it's feast.

The first warning the „prey" got of the impending doom was a happy mewling, immediately followed by a heavy weight that dropped itself on hir upper belly.
A strained „Ooomph!" escaped Calmsouls mouth as the air was pressed out of hir lungs.
What followed was a cold nose on hir left nipple and then a suckling noise and the pleasant feeling of milk flowing into the hungry maw of hir kitten. Loud purring could be heard from hir breast as shi softly shided the two year old chakat cub.
„You couldn't have waited until mommy got up, could you?", shi said, while carefully embracing little Silverfrost. The only answer was increased purring and a weak hug. With resignation Calmsoul sank back into the pillows of hir bedding and made the best out of the situation. Shi closed hir eyes and basked in the emotions emanating from hir cub. A smile crept on hir face and shi started purring in unison with the little furball lying on hir chest.
