Character Profile: Sam
Name: SamAge: 6 (younger form) or 13 (Future self)Gender: FemaleHeight/Weight: 3' @ 70 lbs (Younger self) or 5' @ 101 lbs. (Future self)Species: UnknownDate of Birth: February 14, 2191 Residence: UnknownOverview:Sam is the fostered child-protégé of Marmel, assisting him, and tracking along his foot steps as he travels and teaches. Under Marmel's proverbial left wing, Sam is cared for, tought by, and even assists Marmel, and often aids his acts during one of his magic shows. As well as receiving his care, she also being tought magic under Marmel's supervision, and studies at least one chapter of it nightly.Sam appears as a young girl around 6 years old, having a pale-colored fur coat with red forearms, forelegs, tail, and ears; elongated, cup-shaped ears; a leaf-shaped tail and short, blond hair. Sam is featured with blue eyes, thick fur at the ears and tail, and a blue crescent marking planted on her forehead. This mark: the Luna Mark, is a marking signifying the the lineage of Sam to the moon goddess, Luna. However, it's something Sam has no knowledge about.
Her attire consists of of pink child's dress, with a soft, feathered inside, and pale blue dress shoes paired with generic white socks. She is very often seen with a pink cylindrical hat with a metal emblem on the front, and wings parting on the sides and a small, black visor. Around her neck sits a broad lace, which boasts a pouch that holds her trusted plush doll, Puppet.Sam's personality is that of an often clingy, yet self-explorative, smart, and quite kind girl. She's always seen around Marmell, and carrying her doll, Puppet around like a blanket. Because of her developing person, she's always taking in new information, and rarely forgets it. Despite her seemingly innocent complex, her magic is not quite perfected for her benchmark skill level, and often makes many mistakes. However, her, as well as Marmel are often forgiving people.Puppet is Sam's doll who is always accompanying her. It ("She", in Sam's mind) is simply a plush doll Sam always carries around as her imaginary companion. She has a pale complexion and blond hair much like Sam, and has very similar clothing, only longer, and colored blue and black. Her eyes are simple elliptical dots, and seems to omit many detailed features, looking rather exaggerated.
However, in the midst of it all, there exists another Sam who walks the world. This Sam is seemingly older and more mature than the one that exists in the proper present, being around five feet tall, and a bit more physically developed. However, she esthetically appears the same as the younger Sam, wearing her same cloths, and having her same hair, and overall look intact. She only has the addition of a rather petite pair of compression short, given her cloths are essentially the same as they seemingly were as a child. This older Sam's personality
is seemingly gone, and rather void of her emotions. Whatever emotional expression she has seems halved, and doesn't react well to time involving one's emotions or feelings. And while she may express emotion verbally when around someone familiar, or her younger self, she cannot seem to physically bring to express them. However it works for her, she can't help but associate with her younger self, and her supervisor, Marmel. What more, the Puppet the older Sam carries is slightly different from the one the younger Sam carries. This Puppet is dressed slightly different, having now a sleeved attire that features more of a ratio of black to blue. But the distinguishing trait is that the older Sam's Puppet now has the ability to transform into a [literal] full-sized puppet vessel. This transformation makes Puppet a towering 7' 2" tall, slightly reproportioned and slightly more mechanized than the plushie it takes otherwise.
Such features include a hardened exterior shell and many adjustable joints; sharp, bladed metal finger tips; a now opening oral compartment, and eyes that now glow, and can function on magic. This Puppet can now move on its own, however, it requires Sam's input in order to do so.History:Sam was found by Marmel when she was around 5 years of age, and has since been under his wing ever since. She has traveled with Marmel all around, receiving various views of the world, as well as Marmel's care and teachings. She's always been of great help to him especially during magic shows the Marmel hosts. Some amount of time ago, she also picked up magic under Marmel's instruction. She has since been practicing constantly. However, some strange version of her has also been seen around. What she wants is unknown, and what she's after is never specified. All that anyone knows is that she's a familiar face, and has been lookiing for other familiar faces for some reason... that and her fearsome Puppet often get the better of people...
Weapon: Shot-Batons, PuppetWeapon Type: Projectile-supplemented Bludgeon, Extra-physical Vessel Discipline: Puppeteering Magic, Spellcasting (unofficial)Battle and Abilities:While young Sam is virtually harmless, the elder Sam has various tools of battle she has to dispose of, and fighting her can be the same as trying to fend off two people. Her magic is quite intricate, being able to use rather mechanical-type spells, as well as her shot-batons that also use magic. Along with being able to manipulate Puppet: her doll, her battle prowess can be quite overwhelming given the right circumstance and provision over her technique. Her Shot-Batons are a form of bludgeon which resembles an ordinary baton, but have an implemented barrel in the handle, which if turned around, can be used as a magic-powered firearm. She may also use them as a means by which to cast some spells, though others wouldn't require them to be even
held. The batons themselves are around 1' 2" in length, and features a typical cylindrical body. Her Magic is another fine point in her prowess. Specializing in puppeteering magic and certain spellcasting areas, she is able to put pressure on opponents with spells and traps that don't require her subjection. Her spells mainly consist of mechanical spells, and commands to give to her extra-physical vessel, Puppet. By simply saying the spell's name, and performing specific gestures for some, she can perform various acts and offensive moves.
Puppet is another aspect of Sam's offense. As Puppet is an entire vessel, it is operated entirely by magic extra-physically. This means that Sam does not have to wield it in order to use it, and can actually improvise Puppet to work on its own when needed. Sam, as such, can give Puppet commands via magic if she wants it do do something specific, usually coming in the form of simple commands and spells. Puppet is usually following right behind Sam, if not commanded to do anything. The weaknesses to this style come ultimately down to limitation, and the potential lack of proper placement. Sam's use of the batons can be quite limited, and the spells she casts have fixed potency. Getting power into a spell must require one to cast a wholly different spell, much the same as Marmel. As well, if she doesn't have a well enough placement of her playable props, she often isn't as potent a fighter on her own. It is basically a team effort of her, and Puppet, her magic as a supplement. If the effort is one-sided, the chances of winning drop quite a bit, though not by that drastic a margin.
As well, Puppet is a stand-alone element, independent of Sam's physical hold. It can by physically manipulated, though not directly; only Sam has control of Puppet when it's in use. This exploitation can go both ways as an advantage, and possibly a weakness. But it's best to watch her magic attacks and the placement of Puppet on the field...
