A Magical Evening

Tonight was a special date night for Apollo and Zylen. They had the good fortune of obtaining tickets to a very special show...a very popular magician had come to town. They were sitting in the center of the arena and when the announcer boomed his introduction, the pyrotechnics started. Streams of green, purple, and red flew over the audience and burst into a rainbow of colors. Zylen was fascinated by magic, not because he thought that a mortal man could make something disappear for real, rather the fact that there was hard science behind what they were doing was what made it so arousing to his mind. Even if he knew exactly how a magician could say, make a dove turn green, it didn't take any of the mystery away from the tricks.
Zylen turned to Apollo and smiled, kissing the blue jay's cheek and shouted over the bursting fireballs into Apollo's ear, "I love you."
The blue jay grinned and leaned his head closer against the shoulder he was so used to laying his head on, and shouted back. "I love you too. Now shhhh...the shows about to start."
The pyrotechnics finished their explosive dance over the audience's heads and the curtains on the stage dropped into a pile that ignited into bright blue fire. The fire burned for a few seconds and then there was nothing on the stage by a lone figure. Suddenly a column of white light illuminates the figure, showing a green furred fox, with black fur on the tips of his ears. He was dressed in a spiffy black suit with purple vest of a white shirt and purple gloves. The fox was bowing but he stood up with a grin as he spoke with a booming voice so the whole audience could hear him.
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I have to start this show with some bad news. My previous assistant wasn't able to make it tonight. So I'll need a volunteer from the audience to help with tonight's show. What I need is someone unique who enjoys being the center of attention."
Apollo jumped up, surprising Zylen, as the blue jay pointed towards him shouting, "Oooooh...pick my boyfriend! He fits that description!"
Hearing the excited utterance, the fox turned to the two birds, seeing one of them jumping up and pointing at the other. The blue jay seemed like he might be a great assistant, but the peacock sitting next to him trying to hide the blush on his face was exactly the kind of man he was looking for. "Very well. Please come to the stage, Mr...?"
"Zylen! His name is Zylen." Apollo said as he helped the peacock to his feet and kissed him deeply before sending him to the stage.
Zylen was nervous as he walked towards the stage hearing the people cheering for him to join the handsome magician. Once Zylen got on the stage, the magician shook the avian's hand, "It's nice to meet you Zylen. My name is Max King. But these clothes you're wearing won't do for my assistant." Max turned to the audience and said, "So, here's what I'll do, I'll let you all decide what kind of clothes to put on Zylen and that will also set the theme of the show I put on tonight."
