karma-2
#2 of KARMA series
this is the second part to my karma series prologue.
He watched the coward run with his tail tucked between his legs.
"Good riddance" the fox wiped a stray tear while he calmed down from his laughing hysteria "maybe he'll think twice before trying shit like that again" he shook his head and returned to the dance floor blending in with the writhing, grinding mass of bodies. Several paws took their turns groping and rubbing while he made his way back to the central platform, hoisting himself up he nodded with a wink to the DJ, an old friend, and waited for the next song to start. The beat started low as the fox worked his hips ,slow at first, sensually running his hands up his chest feeling the bass start to reverberate across his body.
Time to show these boys how its done.
Raising his paws high and wide he started wagging his tail to the increasing beat , brushing the heads of the taller club goers on the floor. Having the desired effect of bringing the attention his way he signalled with a quick flick of his wrist and a knowing smile the DJ nodded back and started up the real show of the night. A slow rhythm was replaced by a pulse pounding blend of drum and bass. The fox turned from sex object to a flurry of twists and turns, paws travelled over and under clothes as he quickly removed his shirt now bare chested spinning to the sound of dropped beats and jaws.
He loved it when that happened.
His chiseled features often hidden by looser fitting tops now on display for all to witness as he ran his claws through his fur accentuating his soft alluring frame. Dropping low so he could look his fans in the eyes he never let his sensual smirk leave his lips as each member of the audience became more and more entranced by the lone figure sweeping the podium with that luscious tail, tickling the noses of those lucky enough to be up close and personal. He raised himself back up and started to really put his body through a workout. Arms outstretched foot paws gliding him around, hips thrusting, shaking ,twisting, he was a one fur orgy of flesh and sound. A low spin had his paws caress a face or two ,a playful scritch under a chin, a sensual claw rubbing against a muzzle. All the while the fox never stopping his mesmerizing tail curling around his body sometimes hiding his features other times accentuating them he brought it over his shoulder and brushed his own muzzle.
The drool was flowing now.
The end of the song came to early for him.
the smell of musk surrounding him confirming it wasn't the only thing "ending" to soon.
He dropped to his knees and spread his legs wide arms stretched seductively behind him tail wrapped firmly around his chest as the final beat sounded he tilted his head to the side so they could all get a good look at the pierced tongue running along his lips.
More musk.
The lights dimmed and the room became dead silent as the crowd took a moment for their brains to fully process all they had witnessed. Slowly life came back to the stunned masses as the lights started slowly illuminating a now fully dressed fox descending from his perch.
The room exploded with cheers and cat calls. Whistles demanding an encore performance, some whining over wanting to get their hands all over his body to claim him as their own. He smiled and waved to them all. He made his way over to the bar with several of the braver furs following close behind offering to buy him a drink, a car, a house, anything in a vain attempt at getting a moment alone with him. A polite decline one after another had them returning rejected and crestfallen back to the floor , or the bathroom to relieve themselves from their pent up energy.
"only half a dozen tonight, must be losing your touch hey blaze." the bartender, a tall dark hare with pierced ears, quipped handing the fox his usually club soda and lemon.
"please, only other place you can smell that much cum soaked underwear is a strip club and you know it." they shared a laugh and continued to chat as the next song started up, a somber follow up to the extravagance that had left the patrons begging for more.
"i saw that wolf drag you out of there...everything OK?"
he took a sip and and shook his head " nothing to worry about," another sip" just some jackass "straight" boy thinking that all gays are going to drop to their knees a the sound of a zipper being pulled down," he paused to roll his eyes. "I mean seriously, he actually thought I was going to just let him fuck me just because he had a cock." the pair shared a long sigh.
"can't really blame him though..." a sharp glare cut the hare off. " I meant for wanting you." he laughed at the fox's continued glare " every guy who comes through that door wants a piece and you know it." he poured another drink and handed it off to one of the servers who passed the fox a stack of paper.
"another round of numbers for you to burn through blaze" the fox took them in his paws and sighed.
blaze was an apt nickname for him both on and off the dance floor, on he set the gawking crowds ablaze with his movements, off anyone who got to close got burned, he couldn't remember who gave it to him but it stuck.
"you OK kid?" a gentle paw patted him on the shoulder
Blaze looked up at a concerned familiar face "hey jj, yeah I'm fine, just a little tired, think I will call it an early night." he gave a weak smile to his coyote DJ friend. "great job on the music tonight , gave me quite the work out." they shared a few words before the DJ had to return to his booth.
"you sure you are OK blaze you seem distracted." the bartender busied himself cleaning a few glasses waiting for a response.
" yeah just thinking about that wolf still, just seems sad that he had to hide who he was in this day and age." blaze shook his head "whatever its his problem not mine." he finished his drink and got up to stretch. The rabbit behind the bar smiled and nodded.
"have a safe trip home blaze, and say hi to mik for me" he gave a wave and a nod and went back to focusing on his job.
Blaze took out his phone and checked to see if he had any messages, crazy to do since all his friends were right there working. he fired off a message to Mik who was probably up working late as usual.
"guess I could call a cab or something" he spoke to no one in particular as he left the club into the cool night air "or just walk not like its a bad night" in truth he wanted to walk to clear his head.
The wolf Lucas had surprised him, sure and he did find it hilarious that a guy who made it his life's work tormenting others about their life style choices was such a closet case but could he really fault him for that. Blaze knew from personal experience that wanting to be who you are and actually being able to be who you are were two very different things. He was lucky he grew up in a home that accepted him and loved him. Not everyone was so lucky.
He gave his arms a stretch and yawned. Maybe he was just tired.
Still...
Lucas was the big dog on their shared college campus, he was surprised to see him their on his first day that year remembering clearly that through high school he had known the wolf he never thought he would be the kind of guy to voluntarily stay in school for an extra year or two , or even qualify to get into college. He was always hanging out with the jocks even though he never played on any of the actual teams but was more than happy enough to join them in their rousing games of locker stuffing and lunch hour lynchings. Now he was in college taking an applied mathematics course to get an engineering degree.
"so weird how some people end up." he shrugged and turned to head home deciding on the long walk in the fresh air.
He passed a group of tough, mean looking guys who reeked of alcohol and sweat. He kept his head low and avoided eye contact. Years of hiding his sexuality in the locker rooms at school taught him how to make himself invisible. Especially around guys that looked like they were just begging for an excuse to start a fight.
He made his way past them without problem, listening to their bragging about working over some cunt and making a "real woman" out of some slut. Blaze cringed and tried to keep the bile down not wanting to hear all the gruesome details these guys were sharing. They had turned a corner and Blaze was in the clear, their distant laughter grew quiet leaving the fox to his thoughts again.
He thought seeing Lucas on campus meant that the wolf had changed his ways , thought he may have been one of those guys that actually grew out of the high school phase and gained some maturity. Not that it was an excuse for beating on smaller weaker cubs but people do change.
Not Lucas.
JJ and Roger, the bar tending hare, had asked blaze to promote the club at his school to bring in a younger crowd and the fox had been happy to oblige his friends. Putting up a few posters and talking to some of the guys he knew were out to spread the word. He noticed Lucas reading over one of the posters before tearing it down and crumpling it up and tossing it before muttering "stupid faggots" under his breath then stomping off and pushing his way through the crowd.
Should have known better.
He looked up to the stars and wondered why people wanted to steep themselves in such hate and ignorance. Why they wanted to fill themselves up with such poison, it baffled the young fox.
"guess not everyone learns its better to smile then to frown" he chuckled remembering one of the many things Mik taught him.
Passing an alley he thought he heard someone having difficulty holding down a night of drinking.
Could be a straggler from that group better keep moving.
He paused though and took a better listen perking up his ears and straining his eyes to see into the unlit alley way trying to make out any bodies. Shrugging he turned to leave.
"Not my concern," the fox justified. Another rustle stopped him and again he tried to see if he could make out where it was coming from. "hello?" he called out "you OK in there?" another rustle and the fox decided to take a closer look ignoring his natural instinct of just walking on. It stank of garbage and urine , and a mix of something else, male musk, not surprising around this area, something else , something coppery. There was some rustling in a pile of garbage, probably just some stray who ate a piece of too far gone food. What was that smell, it reminded him of a time long past, a dark memory that he had tried to keep locked away.
Is that a boot?
It was sticking out of a pile of garbage. Upon closer inspection he noticed a leg still in it.
Yep just some drunk who couldn't make it home should just let him sleep it off maybe he will learn.
It moaned, not a drunk sick moan, it was weak thready like it was someones dying breath, it sent chills down Blaze's spine and he looked closer and had to choke down the bile that rose in his throat. It was a body a wolf, maybe, judging by the tail the rest looked like a mass of blood and matted fur. An ear was torn and the skull had a large contusion dripping blood. What he could see of the back wasn't great either there were claw marks leaking blood crisscrossing the body all the way down to the ass where a pool had been collecting under the tail.
"fucking Christ." he swore. A flash of a cackling lion bragging to his friends over the bitch who was now ruined for all other men and the bragging about how that the slut couldn't get enough boiled inside the fox's mind. He couldn't keep it down anymore he turned away and vomited everything he had on the opposite side of the alley trying to block out what he had just witnessed .
Was she still alive?
He had to check, he had to get help. He took out his phone and started to dial when the body moved , he went back over fighting the urge to throw up and tried to check for a pulse, the legs were a mess like someone had taken a bat to them and there was blood everywhere. He went to check the wrist but the arm was twisted and he didn't want to risk the chance of causing any more harm so he went for the neck instead. The muzzle was turned and Blaze noticed a nasty wound across the face.
It wasn't the face of a woman.
"LUCAS!" he called out with the sudden realization of what had happened.
The wolf who the fox had laughed about being a coward, the bigoted loud mouth who tormented so many of his classmates, there in a heap of blood and refuse dieing or was he already dead.
He checked for a pulse and found one, it was weak and getting weaker. No time for an ambulance.
He hit the speed dial for roger at the bar and waited for him to answer.
" you forget som...?" the friendly greeting was cut short by the frantic fox.
"ROGER GET YOUR CAR AND GRAB JJ." he paused to breath " I'm five blocks away headed towards my place in an alley get over here now." he hung up and prayed for his friends to get there soon. Lucas needed a doctor and fast, even then there probably wasn't a chance...
"NO." he screamed "LUCAS HANG ON." he begged and pleaded with the unconscious form before him.
He may not have respected or even liked the wolf but no one deserved to die like this.
He was crying now and didn't care. He started to move the garbage out of the way being careful not to jar the body, no telling what sort of internal injuries those monsters could have given him.
He heard a car pull up and doors slam shut.
"BLAZE" roger called out
"over here you gotta help me quick" the hare and coyote rushed to his voice only stop and gasp at what they saw.
A body presumably dead covered in blood and god knows what else with their friend crying over it trying to get it unburied from a mass of garbage.
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE" shouted JJ .
" no time to explain we have to get him to a hospital, help me please." Blaze had fully uncovered the body and took in the extent of damage that had been done to him.
His legs were badly crushed almost twisted in a comical manner, the head had a serious wound likely causing some brain damage not to mention his one ear had been badly torn.his face had been beaten, the eyes swelling shut and the mouth dripping blood and saliva . Where the back had been cut and scratched the front had been bruised and beaten likely several broken ribs and a chunk of fur and flesh had been torn out over his heart. His arms had looked twisted and broken but amazingly they were only slightly bruised where they must have held him down.
Held him down.
He couldn't help but throw up again picturing what had happened to him.
JJ and roger had come over to help carry the torn body while their friend collected himself.
They were careful with him fearing any more damage could tip him over the edge. Blaze had gotten up and opened the back door and climbed in the opposite side to help his friends get the wolf inside and tried to keep him from moving to much. He checked the pulse again.
Still there but barely.
JJ and Roger got back in and they started towards the hospital not caring about any traffic laws. "what the fuck happened back there and how do you know this guy?" JJ took over the interrogating while Roger focused on driving.
"I don't know what happened, there were these guys, I passed them on the street they were bragging about doing...this." he gestured to the bleeding mess of wolf on the back seat. He started to cry again and JJ reached back a paw to comfort his friend. "He is the wolf that tried to pick me up at the club , I know him from school." he continued to sob " I laughed at him and told him i was going to tell everyone that he was at the club and out him." He pressed his paws against his muzzle "I never wanted this to happen i never thought he would get hurt, i just laughed while he ran out ."
jj sighed " its not your fault kit" his DJ friend showing the difference in their ages by calling the fox by his pet name. "I'll call Mik and let him know we are going to the hospital he can meet us there." a gentle paw rubbed his head fur and the coyote gave hm a warm smile. " he'll get the help he needs."
They got to the hospital without any more words exchanged. The wheezing, strangled gasps of the dieing wolf in the back the only noise as they pulled up to the doors JJ rushing in to get help.
"it's OK Lucas just hang on" the fox whispered to the wolf. His eyes had swollen shut and he coughed a bit of blood but remained still. Blaze took a hold of one paw and squeezed gently. "just hang on."
A stretcher was rushed out with a group of doctors and nursing staff . Blaze got out of the way so they could help this stranger who's life could very well be over, and if it wasn't it would never be the same again. A firm grip on his shoulder distracted him.
"if he pulls through he is going to go through hell to get better." Roger voiced the younger man's concerns "how are you holding out pup?" he looked deep into the foxes eyes only to have them vanish as Blaze buried his face into the rabbit's chest and start crying again. He rubbed the fox's head trying to soothe him.
"doctors say they don't know the extent of the damage but they want to talk to you kiddo." JJ had returned. "the cops have been called and Mik is on his way over, I'm going to go get some coffee i doubt any of us are getting home tonight to sleep. He patted roger on the shoulder and rubbed the foxes back as he left.
Blaze had managed to calm himself down enough to sit down and take deep breaths.
Why was he getting so worked up over a stranger?
This was someone who wouldn't have even batted and eye had the situation been reversed.
So why did he care if he lived or died?
"are you the one who found him?" a nurse had come over. Blaze nodded and stood up.
"his name is Lucas, Lucas Mandrake." was that really all he knew about the guy who he just brought to the hospital on the brink of death?
"Does your friend have any known allergies?"
"I don't know"
"Is he on any medication?"
"I don't know"
"Is there anyone we can get a hold of from his family who would know?"
"I don't know."
He didn't know a damn thing.
He had judged the wolf a bigoted loser without knowing a damn thing about him. He didn't know what his home life had been like, he didn't know what the wolf had been through mentally and emotionally just to go to the club, even in disguise.
He didn't know anything.
The nurse sighed and made a few notes on a clipboard. " he was lucky you found him although he is in really bad shape he is still alive." she turned and walked away leaving the fox standing there stunned.
He slumped back into his chair.
"its OK that you don't know anything." roger was trying to be the voice of reason to combat his friends obvious inner turmoil. "you did the right thing" a reassuring paw to the arm gave the fox some clarity.
He did do the right thing.
And that was all there was to it.
