"I don't know!" shouted Nate with frustration as he stood in the middle of his dorm room and looked towards the doorway where Tyler stood.
The timber wolf was wearing a very tight black shirt and a pair of red shorts, looking very handsome as always. Though his face had the very rare fixture of frustration as he leaned against the door frame, arms crossed and one brow raised at the arctic fox. "Why can't you just be honest with me? We're friends, right?"
Nate's ears drooped, suddenly feeling slightly guilty. "We are friends, Tyler. It's just... this is weird to me. I feel tired, I feel confused..." His body shook slightly. He felt the inevitable tears coming as he started to break down. "These past few months with you around... I've felt different. I find myself wanting to be around you more, wanting to learn everything about you, having to force myself not to stare at you..."
Tyler walked forward slowly, ears upright as he listened.
"I just... I don't know what to do. I'm afraid of my feelings and I'm not able to focus and... and..." His voice suddenly felt weaker and he shut his eyes, sniffling. He started to cry in the open in front of Tyler of all people. He was just thankful it wad only the two of them in the dorm at throat moment. The fox was so embarrassed, but he couldn't turn away or run or anything. He just stood there and let the tears flow down his face.
Just then, Nate felt something wrap around his waist, holding him tightly. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up, barely seeing Tyler's worried face through teary eyes.
"Tyler, w-what are-"
"Shy... Don't cry. You're not as handsome with tears in your eyes..."
Nate's ears perked up. Did he really just hear that? He just looked into the eyes of the wolf who continued to hold him by the waist. The confusion he felt before now felt miniscule compared to the confusion he felt now. "I don't understand..."
Tyler simply grinned, gently rubbing his nose against the fox's. "You're too cute to be crying, Nate. I don't want to see it anymore."
Nate's cheeks flushed red at the nuzzling and comment. "D-Don't call me cute..."
The wolf chuckled softly, tightening his grip around Nate's waistline. "What if I want to?"
Nate once again returned to a loss of word, looking at the wolf who was showing such a huge amount of affection. They stood there in silence for what felt like several minutes, occasionally exchanging a nuzzle. The buildup of emotions inside the white fox soon was too much, and he gently pushed his lips forward to connect with the taller male's lips, letting out a very faint whimper.
Immediately Tyler sealed by returning the gentle kiss, his tongue lightly running against the fox's upper lip. Their first kiss lasted for endless seconds, both feeling a massive surge of warmth and happiness inside themselves. The wolf pulled Nate even closer, their bodies pressed fully against one another as they continued that long, passionate kiss.
Nate was the first one to part. His face had now gone completely red as he looked into the wolf's eyes, body trembling. "Tyler, I... I think I-I love you..."
Tyler did his signature grin and leaned forward to kiss Nate again, this time giving out a tiny loving growl. The emotion behind this kiss was just as strong as the first one, if not more, and Tyler loved watching the fox shiver in delight and fall limp into his strong arms. The kiss ended and Tyler licked Nate's cheek. "I know I love you. I didn't want to admit it at first, but I do. You make me so happy, Nate."
Nate blushed, his ears drooping again. "I do? You're not just saying that?"
Tyler rolled his eyes a little. "I'm right here holding you and I just kissed you twice. How could I not be serious?"
Nate giggled as his face turned more red. After another moment he was engulfed by another deep kiss. He felt his body being lifted up and he was placed onto his bed, his body shaking slightly at the sudden progression. He frowned and gently pushed the jock wolf away.
Tyler noticed and stopped, but still smiled. "I'm not gonna do anything, Nate. Promise."
"I... I trust you. This is just so weird to me... I'm not sure what this all means for myself, or for us, or anything like that." He frowned a bit and looked down towards his lap.
Tyler moved forward and grabbed Nate again by the waist, pulling him close and resting his chin on top of the fox's head. "We'll both have to figure this out. But if you think about it, what'll change? We'll still be hanging out as we always do. We'll still go places and have fun. Just now there will be some romance involved."
Nate instinctively leaned into the timber wolf's muscled chest. "That's what I'm worried about. I don't know if I'm able to do that. Or if I'll be comfortable. I'm scared of what people will think of me." He leaned back slightly and looked up to meet eyes with Tyler. "Or what people will think of you being with me..."
"Since when have I ever cared about what people thought of me. I'm pretty sure we had this conversation months ago."
"I know, but..."
Tyler cut off the fox's words with a short kiss to the muzzle. "Shhh..."
Nate blushed again, though he probably never stopped in the first place. He accepted the kiss and kissed back. It felt so wonderful to kiss the wolf, and to be held by him. This was the sort of attention Nate had been desiring, and the attention coming from Tyler of all people was like a dream come true that he wasn't even aware of. He looked at the wolf again and let out a simple chuckle.
"What're you laughing at?" Tyler said with a smirk.
"Nothing. I just never imagined that this is where I would've ended up... But I'm happy. I really am."
Tyler gently rubbed a paw up and down Nate's back. "Well I'm glad. I'm also glad we're the only two here cuz I think we'd have a pretty interesting conversation with the others if they saw us right now."
"Will you stay with me tonight?" Nate asked after a brief delay. "I um... I want to feel you close to me..."
Tyler smiled. "Of course." He climbed up into the bed and laid down on his back, joined shortly by the fox who immediately laid on top of him. He wrapped his arms around the arctic fox and kissed his forehead.
Within minutes Nate was asleep, feeling happy and warm in the arms of his new boyfriend. Yeah... Boyfriend.
