Here Kitty Kitty By Zatarra L. Vulpe

Adius was bouncing to the beat. It wasn't what he wanted. Certainly the music was intense enough to carry the lion through dancing laser beams and thudding base hits, but something about it... It didn't reach his core like it usually did. Just sort of stirred his crème colored fur and let his blonde mane flop around with the bob of his head. It was nice, just not what he needed. Maybe it was just hard to think. He needed fresh air. He opened his eyes and found himself in a sea of markings and fur colors, dyes and piercings, muscles and fluff. Something about it was beautifully chaotic, so much movement and life in harmony. He couldn't dwell on it though. His lithe frame felt like the only one out of synch. He was surrounded, but might as well have been on his own. He felt a little twinge of something in him, an ache he couldn't quite place. It was probably just the music. It was so loud it drowned out his touch and smell, it was his only sense and it was overloading the others. He felt a tap on his shoulder. He glanced back to see a scaly face with a new, long black stripe over the muzzle. Varse. Nice guy, hadn't known him long, maybe a little thick but Adius didn't mind. His tongue whipped out along his muzzle and he grinned almost obscenely. His raver gear was glowing and jangling, a few chains clinking along with his steps. They were side by side but the lizard was shouting. "What's with you, mate? Why the long face?" The lion waved him off and shuffled through the crowd. He made it to the door just in time for the DJ to hit some house mix he'd heard one too many times and that sealed the deal. He was in the street. It was dark. The street lamps were buzzing and the electronic beats were still ringing in his ears. His pink paws felt strange, like he was going to trip any time. The crisp night air was a little better, he could think, but he couldn't reach it, whatever it was he was missing. He kept trying to think as he walked and even that felt off. "Hey! Wait up!" Varse again. His green tail whipped back and forth as he trotted up alongside the lion and put his arm around his shoulder. "What's happening, you down in the dumps about something?" "Nah, I'm not sure what it is, just woke up on the wrong side of the bed I guess." "Well that's alright, I don't mind going anywhere, forget these guys." "Uh... No, I mean, I think I just need to go relax, you know?" "Oh, oh right, yeah, you sure? I mean I'm here for you man, one hundred percent." "I know, I get it, it's nothing, really, just need some sleep." "Oh, right, I get ya, I'll try not to have too much fun without ya." Adius smiled and gave him a little wave, trotting out of the alleyway and into the street. No cars this time a night. He didn't mind. He did note the moon was full. Maybe that was it, he was a lunatic, just not stark raving mad like most he'd heard of. He wasn't superstitious, but he smirked at the thought. He skipped a little and felt good about it, not worried about anyone seeing him, to the beat of his own tune. His tail flicked and he tried to imagine being in something... cute. Something pink and lacy, fluffy and big to make him seem smaller, like a little doll or a plushy kitt- He stopped mid skip. His nose wrinkled, he shook his head. What was he thinking? He glanced left and right carefully, secretly. For an instant he wondered where those thoughts came from, then just dismissed them outright. He felt heat rise to his cheeks. He put his paws in his jeans and leaned a little lower, pinkish paw pads feeling a little leaden. He tightened and kept his eyes down. It felt strange, like it'd just come out of nowhere. That's when he saw a little piece of paper. First he thought it was just litter, but it looked too... clean, straight... Pink? He swiped it up in a smooth flick of his wrist and tilted it in the street light. Lacy loony loves light little limericks for ladies love little lions licking letters. Little lions like looking for letters with flavors to lap and loll their tongues 'till dawn. Ladies love little lions that like to be good kitties. Are you a good kitty? Adius stared at the note. His paw shook a little. He stared at the words and read them over and over. Did this note want him to lick it? It did mention a lion, like he was meant to find it. That said, there was an insistent little voice in his head that screamed yes, yes this is the right thing to do! It carried such a peculiar scent. Not a harsh, chemical smell, but flowery, like lavender or cherry blossoms. Before he knew what he was doing his tongue was on the paper. He tingled a little, ears twitched to follow a sound he couldn't hear. The words stood out again in his mind, like an echo: good kitty. Adius smirked to himself. What nonsense. Maybe he'd even imagined it. He kept right on walking and didn't think twice. In fact he really didn't think twice. After a few minutes he wasn't sure where he was going. He was sure he knew the club, but the streets were a blur of asphalt and brick buildings. He tried to trace his path in his mind and came up blank. He stopped at another intersection under a street lamp and tried to find a familiar shop or a street name. Instead he saw a small card hanging under the street lamp. He tugged it and a long, pink ribbon from the pole. Good kitties like to look cute, wearing shiny silky things for their soft fur for smooth pettings. People like to pet cute kitties and good kitties like people petting their perfect fur. They mewl and meow to let their Owners know. Are you a good kitty? The ribbon was fairly long, smooth silk between his pads and bright pink. He stared at it for a moment and turned it over in his paw. It was a little large for his paw, small for his waist, but soon he had it around his neck. He carefully tied the bow, leaving it flush to his throat but still comfortable. He gulped gently as he felt it, his cheeks feeling warm. He unbuttoned his shirt a little and exposed his chest to the air, he just needed to cool off. He wandered by a pub that sounded like it was having a ladies night. There were loud cheers and squeals, the sound of a pop hit blasting out of the door as a fox and a purple dragon stumbled out. Adius froze, feeling a little skittish for some reason, he wasn't sure if it was them or the music. As soon as the fox spotted him, she ran her blonde headfur out of her eyes and smiled. "Aww, what a cute kitty!" Adius turned his head. He didn't see any cats, or anyone else for that matter. When he turned back he found the fox and the dragon draw closer and he recoiled a little, for some reason he was convinced that they were huge, but if anything he was the taller one. "It's okay kitty, we're not gonna hurt you." Adius blinked as the fox put her paw on his forehead, scratching into his mane and then stroking over the back of his head, touching the ribbon on his neck before running down his back. Adius' thoughts started to slow, his eyes were about half lidded and he leaned into her next stroke, his back flowing along her hand like it was magnetic. His chest stirred with a rather light, tingly purr. "Aww, that's so cute! You're such a precious little thing, where's your owner I wonder?" The dragon giggled "And you're all tangled up in all these clothes, you poor thing." The pair of them unbuttoned his shirt and slipped it off, then his pants, leaving him in a pair of boxers and the ribbon. He wiggled a little and rubbed himself gently against the pair of them, his ears folded and his eyes closed into happy little slits. His mouth was in a slackened smile as the pair kept petting him. "You're just adorable, you're a good kitty aren't you?" Adius meant to say 'Yes,' what came out was "Mew!" "Aww, are you telling us all about it? Yeah huh?" "Mrow! Mew!" The pair of girls giggled and pet him some more before he started wandering down the street, his tail curling and twisting in that semi-prehensile way cats do. They giggled and waved. "Bye kitty! Go find your owner!" He thought about it a little more. His owner. His owner? Adius turned back to ask them what they meant when he blinked and found himself somewhere else entirely. How long had he been walking? He really didn't recognize anything, he wasn't sure if he was still in the same town or not. When a gust ran through his fur he also noticed he wasn't really wearing anything. His mouth opened and he looked around for his clothes, eyes wide. He just remembered leaving the club, the note, the ribbon, being petted... He shook his head. 'What's wrong with me?' he tried to say. What came out was a simple "Merow?" He kept glancing around and then noticed another note. It was tied to a door with something pinkish. Good kitties have cute, back paws that curl and clutch on carpet, but good kitties like to lay on their backs and kick the air cutely while getting tummy rubs, because good kitties like feeling good. Their paws have claws and like to land on all fours at the feet of their Owners. Are you a good kitty? The pinkish things were a pair of little stockings. They looked like they were open at the end, just enough to allow his paws to touch the open ground. They were bright pink, soft, tight. He wanted to just try one on, but, then just sort of figured it'd be better to try both. When he did his legs felt a little tight, but he didn't pay it any mind. He felt off balance, his legs wanting to push him forward, but he managed to stay upright, but it felt uncomfortable. He looked down in time to see his toes growing proportionately thicker, his normally plantigrade paws having stretched at the arch. His heel was raised and his ankle merged with the length of his leg into a much smoother, sleeker appearance. His toes twitched and splayed, claws gently gripping the concrete, his large toe gently shrinking back into a simple dewclaw, he smiled vacantly about it, glad his paws would look so good for.... For... For who? He shook his head again. "Mew." He didn't feel his mane dropping off, hair by hair, leaving a small, wispy trail behind him of discarded head fur. Somewhere he tried to think about all that was happening to him tonight, but something kept stopping him. Thinking was hard. It was like he had a constant fuzz in his brain that he couldn't really feel stressed about, just putting one paw in front of another. Where those paws lead him was in front of a building. It was dark, quiet, clean, sitting in its own patch of green in the middle of grey concrete. He padded up to the door, finding another note with a little triangle of fabric and another pair of sock-like tubes. A good kitty walks on all fours, not staggers on two, a good kitty likes their front paws, colored pink and not blue, a good kitty is obedient, it's certainly nothing new, a good kitty likes being good, and a good kitty is you! Just follow your nose, feel rightfully pretty, because now you can answer, "Are you a good kitty?" Adius' heart leapt after reading that. Though he wasn't sure why, he was really struggling with the words and he couldn't read it out loud at all, but some small part of him still recognized it as good, good kitty. He pulled on the little fingerless paw gloves with barely a thought and then slipped off his boxers to pull on a cute pair of panties. He only thought about it until he fell forward, catching himself on springy paws unburdened by an opposable thumb, watching them curiously as it shrank back into a set of dewclaws. His hips shifted and gave a little 'pop,' his legs now four rather than two. He looked up at the door and felt a little "Mew!" on his lips. He didn't think, he didn't need to, just felt it happening. The door opened. Adius' brush like tail flickered back and forth as a gentle paw rubbed over the remains of his mane. In one motion the rest of it fell, the kitten purred, it tingled from tip to tail. He was greeted by a pair of soft, green eyes and fur the color of the Sahara sunrise. "Good kitty, very good kitty, I knew you'd come." Adius could understand it if he concentrated, but it was hard, like she was speaking another language. It never occurred that Adius didn't know her name, but she was so nice, and she kept calling him good kitty, she couldn't be bad. He wanted to reach up and grab her for a moment, but instead his paws just slipped off harmlessly, his body sliding back to all fours. She giggled. "Come kitty, just one more thing, be a good kitty." He didn't need to be told twice. He sprang inside and across a carpet. There were so many high things here. He didn't so much care about color or looks, but he already was looking for roosts he could climb to, places he could wiggle under. Now if only there were a good box. "Here kitty." Adius turned on a dime and padded over on all fours, looking up at the lioness. She had tight clothes on, purple to stand out from her fur, revealing without being lewd, powerful without being hostile. There was a very leonine smile on her muzzle, her lack of mane practically matching the big kitten's. In her hands she had a round little bell. She leaned down to him, scratching under his chin. "Good kitty." She took the little bell and adjusted his ribbon. Adius sat and stared into her eyes, unable to look away. "Good kitty." He felt the silk move for a moment, then her fingers dancing behind his head, tying the ribbon into an adorable little bow. The ribbon around his neck sagged slightly. He heard a little jingle on his neck. Her tail danced back and forth and her grin widened. "Good girl." Adius blinked. Something about what the lioness had said didn't sit right with her, but she wasn't sure what it was. The feeling wasn't there for long though. She was a good kitty, and that's all that mattered. "Good girl Addy, you've been a very good kitty, a good little kitten." Addy practically squeaked out a "Mew!" as things seemed to get even bigger. This made her happy, it would make things taller for her to climb. She was tangled a little in her pinkish clothes, but she didn't think about it, slipping out of them and enjoying the way the lioness' paws drifted along her bare fur. She was bigger too, she could even hold Addy in a paw and pet her with the other. "Ooooh what a good kitty, and you're all mine aren't you?" Addy nuzzled into her owner's paw. The little bell on her neck kept jingling, but she liked it, the bow so big behind her head. Every little ring made her feel sleepy, though she wouldn't know the words. One by one they drifted out of her head, just as easily as the last of her mane, except her own name and, of course, good kitty. And she would be a good kitty, her ears folded and curled up, lying practically on her back with her paws stretched a little. The lioness giggled and cooed, gently rubbing along the cute kitten's belly. Then the doorbell rang. Owner held Addy gently in her arms as she opened the door a second time that day. Standing there was Varse. He was in a simple jacket and jeans, a gentle smirk on the reptile's face when he spotted Addy. "So, do you like her?" "Of course, you were right, she's utterly wonderful, certainly a good kitty." "Good, it took some time but I knew her when I saw her, just needed to make sure she found a good home." "I can see why, I can't thank you enough." "No need ma'am, I'm just glad to have helped." "Would you like to... well..." "Say goodbye? With your permission." "You may." Varse leaned in, the bright blue eyes of the kitten on him as though for the first time. Her paws batted after his muzzle softly and the lizard couldn't help but smile. He rubbed her tummy, from chest to tail, ruffling her fluff and eliciting a fairly glorious purr. "Good kitty, Addy, enjoy your new home, you've got a good owner now." The sound of the words melted into Addy's ears and she nuzzled his scaled hand before he giggled and drew it away. Varse waved to the lioness as he made his way back up the street. The lioness paused and scratched her kitten a little more, whispering about all the little things Addy would like about living with her. She took a step back inside, the door shutting behind her. Addy would occasionally feel a little amiss, something complex looming in her kitten mind, but then her bell would jingle and she'd be fine. She liked to climb and play and sit in her owner's lap, she liked being petted and carried and tousled, she liked to mew and purr and brush along her lioness' legs, but most of all, she liked being a good kitty, and that's all that mattered.
