*The Life of Half star - (Inspired by Erin Hunters Awesome Story Series Warrior Cats) - 5 - Blood Moon *

The time had gone by without something special had happened. Half star had begun to train Hawk paw in Hunting because the Apprentice had nearly reached the age of 6 Moons.

Luckily for Half star, Sunshine Heart had been ignored by Night star because the Leader had been ill or was too busy to claim the promise from her. In the meantime, Half star had made it to gain the friendship of the Elders by Hunting for them together with Hawk paw and renewing their Nests with fresh moss. He even had made it to made some friends under the Warriors. Yet he wasn´t quite ready to conquer Night star because he somehow feared it to become Leader again but that was about to change.

Leaf bare was at its full go and Pray was thin spread. Yet Night star was still standing on the point that his Warriors and him had to be feed first before the rest could eat. That was the main reason why the mood in the clan was as thick as a fog. There was only one spark needed and the whole atmosphere would explode.

It was early in the morning when Half star woke up from a Nightmare. Since a few Sun highs he only dreamed of his old clan and of what he had done. Each time he saw them got killed in a war, heard their screams and once the screams had gone he heard the Voices of Star clan.

" Your dept. will become paid. A Life for a Life. Your dept. will become paid. A Life for a Life...."

His heart was racing while he looked around in fear. He knew that he spoke in his dreams when he became a message from Star clan and he deeply hope that he had not woken someone. Luckily, no one was up and so he tried to drift back to sleep but once he had lowered his Head, he saw Black tooth entering the den. Once in, she headed straight to him and once she was close she whispered into his Ear.

" Come to my den. I´ve got a message from Star clan for you. "

Immediately, he was awake and moved up his Body to follow her. Together they left the Warriors den and moved straight to her den. Once reached and in he asked her.

" What did they told you?"

" They told me that...... " She stopped for a second to gather her thoughts. ".... A River of Blood will flow and a Bloody Moon will rise. "

" What??? " He sat himself down to think of what he had heard. " Do you maybe know what they meant or want?"

" No. The only thing I know is what I told you. In my dream I saw a deep red Moon rising up and right in front of me was a River of Blood flowing and once I looked at it I saw your Body in it."

" HHHHMMMMM.... "

2 Sun highs later, Midnight

The Days had gone by without something happened. Today had been the Day of the Clan meeting because it was full moon. Night star and his Warriors had visited it and when they came back, it was obvious that it had been a bad meeting because Night star was pissed off.

"What does each of the Clans are thinking they are? " Night star said to Mud mouth. " Always telling me that I should do not these or that and what about that coward Leader from Fog clan? Since 2 meetings he hasn´t shown himself. "

" Well.... " Mud mouth started. " His Deputy says that he is ill and cannot come to the meetings. "

" TA.... He is only fearing to show his old ass. Nothing more. Elders should be killed once they are old enough. Even Leaders. They are always a plague and a waste of food. "

Once Half star had heard that from Night star, he would have lovely told him different but he managed to swallow the words down.

Now each one was sleeping except Half star and the Night patrol.

He was sitting on a little stone which was laying a bit away from the Warriors den and was lost in thoughts. Even if he wasn´t a Leader anymore he couldn't forget of what Night star had said about Fog Clan.

What are they planning? He thought. Since a few Days they have not renewed their marks and I´m pretty sure that I didn´t smelled a patrol. HHmmmm.... PPPUUUURRRRR....

He suddenly began to pure because he felt a soft and warm fur on his side and a well-known scent flew into his Nose.

" What is it Half face?"

It was Sunshine Heart who had moved her Body on his. Since that Day when she had spied Half star and Hawk paw on the River, she and Half star had become very close friends. Not to mention that they both had fallen for each other but till now they hadn´t told each other or someone.

" I´m thinking of somethings. " Half star answered after a moment of silence.

" And what? "

" I thought of the things that Night star said when he came back from the meeting. To be exactly I thought of Fog Clan. "

" Why are you thinking over such things? I mean.... You are not a Leader so.... "

Half star turned his Head slowly to face her and once he did he said.

" Maybe I´m not but who says that I´m not allowed to...... HHHHHUUUUUHHHH !!!!"

He stopped suddenly and Sunshine Heart asked herself why but once she turned her Head into the direction in which Half star was looking, she found the reason of why he had stopped.

The Moon, who had hide behind some clouds for some hours, had come out again but now his color was different. Normally it would be pure white but now it was as red as Blood.

" The ... Blood Moon.... OH NO!" Half star said and began to shake.

" What does that mean? Why are you shaking? Please tell me. " Sunshine Heart somehow began to fear and she pressed her Body into his more.

" It... It.... It means...... Nothing. "

" What do you mean with nothing? This isn´t normal! It´s..... " Half star cut her.

" Please Sunshine Heart! I know that this isn´t normal but please.... This is nothing and don´t tell anybody of what had happened tonight. It is really, really important. "

" H.... How much.... important?" She asked in pure fear.

" Life´s depending on it. Star clan has told me that. "

"S... Star clan.... " Half star cut her again and this time he set on a really hard pleading look while he said.

" Please !!!"

She looked into his Eyes with hers and after a heartbeat she agreed. Afterwards the two went back into the Warriors den to sleep but Half star couldn´t fall into it. His Heart was racing and his thoughts were running wild.

The morning came faster than he had wanted it and the night patrol came back. Of course they had seen the red Moon but Night star and Mud mouth didn´t paid that some attention. They only wanted to hear if someone had crossed the Border and once they had been told that no one had done it, they simply moved back into their dens while the morning patrols were set into movement.

Midday

Luckily. Nothing had happened in the morning so Half star was able to tell Black tooth of the Blood Moon. Once he had told her, she began to control her storage and once she had done it, she ran out of the camp to gather some more herbs.

The rest of the Clan did it´s normal Day activities until something happened.

Dust tail was standing guard on the Camp entrance and suddenly, he smelled the scent of danger. Immediately he let out a warning Meow and everyone in the Camp was standing in alarm position.

2 Heartbeats later, the entrance Bush began to move and out of it came Hawk paw, who was breathing very deeply. He and his mother Wild Berry Claw had left Camp to go hunting together with Jay wing, a Tom with Orange Fur and yellow Eyes, and Snow cloud, an all in all white Tom with Blue Eyes.

" Hawk paw??? Why on earth are you alone? Where is Wild Berry Claw?" Dust tail asked his son and he answered under some more heavy breathes.

" FF.....Fog Clan.... They have attacked us from...... Out of nowhere. Please.... We need some help to...... Fight them back. "

" Fog Clan? Were?" Half star asked from the side.

" On the place were.... You teach me swimming.... Please.... Save my .... My.... " The young Apprentice collapsed to the ground and some Blood began to ran out of a wound on his right shoulder.

Luckily, at that moment, Black tooth came back from her search and got shocked once she saw Hawk paw laying on the ground.

" What the.... What happened?" She asked Half star but he only said.

" No time to talk. Look over him and make yourself ready for more. "

He then wanted to leave but before he could do a step, Night star shouted from above his stone.

" DON´T EVEN THINK OF GOING TO HELP THEM HALFFACE! "

" WHAT?" Half star screamed back in wonder. " WHY NOT?"

" If they cannot win against them, they are more useful as death once. "

Half stars Eyes became wide of that words and deep inside of him, something became alive.

" Are you a Mouse brain? You would let them really die for nothing?" Half star asked.

" Of course I would. They are all nothing in my Eyes. " Night star answered cold.

Half star began to growl in pure anger and showed his teeth's until he suddenly closed his Eyes and said calmly.

" Dust tail. Let us go. "

Dust tail knotted a quick yes and started to move.

" DUSTTAIL I WARN.... " Night star started but was cut by a very loud screaming Half star.

" STOP TALKING YOU FURBALL OF A LEADER! I HAVE ENOUGH OF YOUR INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP AND TO EVERYONE ELSE I SAY THAT I WOULD BE GLAD IF SOMEONE OF YOU WOULD COME WITH ME TO HELP TO RECUE SOME CLANMATES!"

Without waiting of Night stars' answer, Dust tail and Half star began to ran out of the camp.

Outside, Half star took on lead and together they ran towards the River. On their way, Half star looked back to see if someone was following them and to his delight he saw that Sunshine Heart, Raven Wing and Broken Claw were following him. There were even 2 more Cats behind them. It was Oak Wing, a brown furred Tom with one red stripe over his right Eye, and Night Wing, a White furred female with black points on it. These 2 were those Warriors Which Black tooth hadn´t been sure of on which side they were standing and until now Half star had only figured out that they were mates. So he wasn´t sure if they were here to help or to stop him.

A few Heartbeats later, the group reached the battlefield.

They stopped on a high point and Half star quickly checked the area and all of his fears became reality. The place was filled with battling Cats and Blood was flowing everywhere. It was not hardly to see that their enemies were outnumbering them. Wild berry and her patrol were fighting good but each one of them had to fight against 3 Warriors at a time.

Without thinking more, Half star screamed out a loud War cry and ran towards the enemies, closely followed by his group. Once reached he jumped at 2 Warriors who were pinning down Jay Wing and pushed them down from him. Immediately Jay Wing rolled to the side and got up to his paws to help Half star. The others of Half stars' group began to fight the rest and now it was standing 2 against one.

Normally it would had gone bad but thanks to the fact that Half Stars Warriors were fresh and that Half star fought like a demon, Fog Clan slowly began to lose. Yet they preferred to fight. Claws and bites were flying around and some pain filled cries were heard. Then, after a while, something strange happened.

Half star had pinned down a young Tom and wanted to set the final slash when he suddenly stopped his moving. The Tom used that moment to free himself and ran away. Half star still stood there with far open Eyes.

What was that? He thought while began to fight on.

The reason why he had stopped was that he had suddenly seen the face of his death son instead of the young Tom and once he had pinned down a female Warrior he suddenly saw his death mate.

This brought him somehow to act strangely. He let the female escape and stopped fighting. Next he said in a normal Voice.

" Stop it! "

Nothing happened of course.

" Stop it! "

He said it a bit louder but still no one listened until he screamed very loud.

" STOP IT !!!"

Immediately each Warrior stopped to fight and looked in disbelieve at Half star, who set himself down before he began to say.

" It´s obvious that we are about to win against you so stop fighting and go back home!"

The Warriors of Fog Clan were slightly unsure of what to do until Half star said in a devilish tone.

" GO BACK OR THE NEXT WARRIOR WILL GET KILLED BY MY PAWS! "

Normally the fight would had set on but somehow, the Warriors of Fog Clan began to shake in fear and one of them screamed before he ran away as fast as possible.

" IT´S HIM!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE´S!!! IT´S HIM !!!"

Within a heartbeat, each Fog Clan Warrior had begun to ran towards their territory, leaving a group of surprised Cats behind them.

" What´s that supposed to mean now?" Sunshine Heart asked Half star in disbelieve.

" HHHMMMM.... Is everyone alright?" Half star asked into the round, ignoring her Question.

" Thanks to you, we are not so badly wounded. Thanks to Star clan that Night star had send you all. " Wild berry Claw said and began to lick a cut on her chest.

" Night star.... TAH!!! That fat old Kitty pet has nothing to do with it. He only said that if you would not win this fight alone then you would better be death. " Sunshine Heart said that with a hate driven Voice and face.

" What? Really? "

A loud hiss went through the group until Snow cloud said to Half star.

" If that is true than I earn you my Life. "

" Mine too. " Jay Wing added from the side.

" Thanks but.... I only did what I had to do and I´m sure that when we return, we will get some serious problems. "

" I´m not fearing that! I already played with the thought of leaving this clan and this would be the right time for it. " Snow cloud said with a mad Voice.

" Just like me. " Oak wing said, letting everyone say a surprised " Huh?"

" And me. " Oak wings mate Night wing added.

" Haha.... Thank you all. Well then.... Let us go home now. "

The group slowly set himself into move. Each one of them had somewhere on its Body a wound but no one said a word in pain or depreciate some help and so they walked until they reached the camp entrance.

For their surprise, Night star was waiting for them on the entrance together with his Loyal Warriors and it was clearly seen that he wasn´t in a good mode. The group stopped in front of them and Half star began to face Night star but not for long because Night star moved his paw upwards and while he shouted into Half stars face, he let it flew down over his face with full ejected claws.

" YOU DARE TO FACE ME AFTER YOU IGNORED MY ORDERS??? HOW DARE YOU!!! "

The Claws didn´t do some great damage but Half star had to shake his Head.

" YOU AND YOUR BUNSH OF KITTIES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY HERE ANYMORE!!! VANISH FROM MY TERETORY !!!"

Without a word, Half star turned slowly in place and began to walk away, together with group but he didn´t made many steps because once he heard something that he hadn´t wanted to hear and saw what he didn´t had wanted to see, it made click in his Head.

" MMMEEEOOOOWWWWWW !!!"

Sunshine Heart had screamed in pain and when Half star had turned his Head he saw that Night star had pinned her down in mating position.

" LET ME GO YOU KITTYPET!!!! MMMEEEOOOOWWWWWW !!!!"

Night star had increased the pressure and in a triumphing Voice he said.

" You go nowhere!!! It´s time that you pay me your fav.... "

He was cut by a very Loud.

" MMMEEEOOOOWWWWWW !!!!"

And only a second later he was pushed away from her.

Half star had finally enough. He had turned again in place and had jumped at Night star with full ejected Claws. Claws that were as long as those one of Tigerstar and now he was in a full fight with Night star. That fight was the final spark that brought the whole atmosphere to explode. The hole Clan began to fight each other.

Normally, Night stars Warriors would had been in better position because Half Stars Warriors were wounded and exhausted but thanks to the fact that they were to fat and to slow, Half stars Warriors were even until Black tooth and the elders One ear, a brown furred Tom with only one Ear on the right, Three eyes, a slight red colored Tom who had a spot on his Head that was looking like an Eye, and Shadow pelt, a black colored female, arrived. At that moment the battle shifted clearly towards Half Stars Warriors.

One after one of Night Stars Warriors was overpowered by Half Stars Warriors and in the end, he or she ended up pinned on the ground with no escape option. All over the fight, Night star and Half star had fought their way back into camp and it became obvious that Half star claimed more and more hits on Night star.

It seemed that the fight would last long but then it happened.

Half star had cornered Night star under his Stone and was ready to do the first strike when Night star said to him.

" You Mouse brain. Even if I die now.... I will come back and then you will die. "

Half star looked into his Eyes with cold ones of his and answered him.

" I know that you will return. I know that Star clan has wasted 9 Lifes on you. "

" How did you.... AAAARRRGGGGLLLLHHHHH........ "

Half star had done it. For the first time since many Moons he had moved his claws through the Body of a Cat to kill it. He had hammered his right Claws straight into the mouth of Night star to silence him and his Claws were long enough to come out a bit on the other side of his Head. While he let Night star do his last moving's, he whispered into his ear.

" I simply know it!"

He then retreated his paw and Night Stars Body dropped death forward.

Heartbeats passed without a move of Night Stars Body. Then, slowly, he became Life again and Half star thought to himself.

That made two Lifes gone I think. Damn!

Night star moved back up to his paws and said to Half star in a shacking low Voice.

" You......Traitor...... Star clan took.... Two Lifes from me.... "

" And I will take the rest of them if you don´t give up. So surrender and..... AAAHHHHH!!!! "

Night star had made a sudden strike with his right Paw. Straight over Half stars entire right Face side. That brought Half star to nearly go insane. He jumped loud hissing into the Air and landed on Night stars back. There he let his Claws fly everywhere, letting them dig deep wounds.

Night star had been to sleepy to counter that attack and before Half star set another final Blow he said begging.

" Please.... Stooooo........"

Half star didn´t listened. He hammered both of his front paws into the necks side of Night star and while the Leader did its final breaths he whispered into his Ear.

"You never gave one of your Kits a chance and now you will pay each of their Lifes with one of yours. "

Half star had been told that Night star had murdered 5 Kits over the time and now Half star preferred to let him pay them. He simply didn´t retreated his Paws until he was sure that Night star had come alive and died 5 times. Right after that he moved down from the death Body and set himself right in front of him. Meanwhile, the hole Clan had gathered inside the Camp and looked at the scene with mixed feelings and emotions.

When Night star finally came back, his Warriors began to shout.

" Go Night star!!! Kill him !!!"

But Night star didn´t did a move. Instead he looked at Half star with a look that said all. He feared.

He feared to lose his last two Lifes and he feared Half star but Half star could see that Night star wouldn´t surrender to him. Especially now that his Warriors were watching the fight.

" Who...... Who are you? Tell me your True Name. You are not a normal Warrior." Night star said after he had comeback fully.

"My Name? You already know my Name or better said you know my old Warrior Name. " Half star said back with a smile on his face.

" Your old Warrior Name? That doesn´t make any sense. A Warrior hasn´t....."

Suddenly, Night stars' face became pale because a thought had jumped into his Head and that thought feared him more than anything.

" AHA !!!Seems like your Mouse brain had an idea I guess. "

" You.... You cannot.... You were told to be death!!! You....You cannot be him!!! Not the destroyer of Clans. "

Half stars' smile became as bright as it could get while deadly silence began to spread.

After a Heartbeat of silence, he finally said.

" OHH.... I´m sorry but.... I am still alive so.... Surrender or Die! "

Night stars Body began to shake really hard and once Half star did a move towards him, Night stars' fear took over. As quick as he could he turned in place and ran screaming out of the Camp with his Tail between his legs.

Each one, who was left, stood speechless and watched but when they all realized that they were finally free, a loud Meow of happiness began to spread but not very long because Half star screamed very loud.

" SILENCE!!! WE ARE NOT HAVING THE RIGHT TO CELEBRATE!!! THERE HAD BEEN TO MUCH VICTIMS TO LAMENT !!!"

Immediately, each one became silent and began to look at Half star who had moved to the Leader stone but he had avoided it to take the place of the Leader. From where he stood now he said to the Clan.

"My friends. We all have now a decision to make. Who will be our new Lea..... "

He couldn´t end because the entire Clan began to meow.

" Half face! " or „ We want you as our Leader. "

Even if he had wished to become Leader again he feared it. That was why he tried to say.

" I´m honored but I ca..... "

The meowing became louder.

" HALFFACE FOR LEADER !!!"

"I.... I.... " Still unsure he tried to find some words but it was at that moment when his Body did the answer.

As if Star clan had moved him. He suddenly stood on the Leader place and began to talk like back in old Days.

" Very well... My Clan. I will except your call and my first order will be this. Each one of Night Stars Warriors is allowed to stay but be aware of some heavy consequences. All of your privileges are gone and you will have to do the work of an Apprentice until I say otherwise. You can except that or you can follow your old Leader but in that case you are not allowed in this territory anymore. "

" I will not except you as a Leader You Loner!!! I go. Everyone follow me! "

It had been Mud mouth who had said that and once finished he turned to face his friends but when he looked into their faces, he knew what each one of them wanted to answer.

" Fine you Mouse's!!! You all want to stay? Good. But be aware!!! The next time we met will be the Day of your death. "

" Or Yours !!!" Came back from one of them.

Without one more word, Mud mouth ran out of camp, following Night stars' scent.

Once out, each one looked at Half star again and he began to talk on but something on him was different at this time. Yet no one except Sunshine Heart seemed to register it.

" Now my friends it´s time to...... Eat. Each one except the Apprentices are allowed to take a bite from the fresh kill - Pile. The Apprentices are going to start.... The work at the den for the.... Elders. "

Each one did as he was told. Except Sunshine Heart. She moved past the Pile and began to climb up the rock. Once up she stopped in shock. The hole stone was covered in Blood and a little but steady stream was flowing. Her Eyes followed the stream and once she found the source of it, her Heart stopped for a second.

Since the fight on the Borderline, Half star had carried a deep wound on his back but he had somehow managed it to hide it from the others. Now that he was sitting in one place and thanks to the fight with Night star, the wound had become even bigger and now it was a wonder that Half star had not been knocked out yet.

Once she had gathered herself again, Sunshine Heart ran towards Half star but when she reached him, Half stars strength came to an end. His legs gave in and he dropped to the ground.

" NO!! BLACKTOOTH!!! HELP ME BLACKTOOTH QUICK!!! " Sunshine Heart shouted out as loud as she could, getting each one's attention immediately.

Once seen the situation. Black tooth jumped up the Rock in a Heartbeat and stood on Half stars' side, looking over his Bleeding Body.

" Holy Star clan! Dust tail! Raven wing! Get up here! Now! Sunshine Heart. Go to my den and gather all Spider webs you can find!"

Each one did as told.

" Hurry. Carry him into the Leader den." Black tooth said to Dust tail and Raven wing who began to move Half Stars Body up.

" N..... No.... I´m....fine.... Look at the others.... first. " Half star said in protest but no one listened.

Dust tail and Raven wing brought Half star into his new den and there they laid him on the old moss bed of Night star. Once placed, Black tooth ordered.

" Good. Now help me to clean his wounds please. "

At that moment, Sunshine Heard entered the den with a staff in her mouth. On its end was each Spider web hanging that she had been able to find and she wasn´t the only one who entered the den. Wild berry Claw came with her and she carried a Leaf packed in her mouth.

" Oh!!! Thanks Wild Berry Claw. I will need that later. Now please. Help me as well to clean his wounds. "
