Race: Pure Canid, Cocker Spaniel, Female.
Admiral Karen is a semi-anthropomorphic female buff colored cocker spaniel, which is to say she walks upright, and has mostly anthro-like hands, but the majority of her body is more like a feral. She has teats and anal glands like a feral spaniel, she also has estrus (heat) cycles twice a year, two uterine horns, and feral-like intestinal tract and other organs. Her vulva and anus are shaped like a feral spaniel's, and work exactly the same.
Born on a poor world in the Outlands, where there was no rule or law, a land of thugs and criminals where only the strong survive, one could say Karen was born fighting. It did not help that her parents were abusive, nor that the simple needs of food and water were always fought over. Karen was eventually rescued from that horrible life by Admiral Maya who killed her abusive father, and Karen lived out the remainder of her adolescence training and working her way through the ranks on Excalibur. By the time she reached adulthood, she had earned her place as Maya's vice-Admiral, through countless bloody battles fulfilling countless contracts. Shortly thereafter she married Hank Leddoux, a human from earth as the Xian War had given Maya a new contract. During that conflict, Karen used her genius mind to full effect, planning strategies even Maya in all her wisdom, had failed to consider.
Following the war, Karen traveled with Admiral Maya to personally deliver letters of condolences to the families of all those lost in the war.
Shortly thereafter, Maya was regressed in age due to a transporter incident, and Karen was forced to assume command of the fleet.
Karen's command style is a bit more strict than Maya's in many areas, but more relaxed in others. For example Karen declassified all the information and Technology Maya had kept secret, Maya thought Earth was not ready for it, but Karen feels the way the nations pulled together in the Xian war was their trial by fire, and now they are ready to truly become a spacefaring race, and sharing all that knowledge is a part of that.
As Canid marriage is not monogamous, and Karen herself is omnisexual, Karen has many lovers. Some are actual mates like Hank and Tom, while others are ''estrus relief buddies''.
