Game night (Patreon reward for Kodi)

There are a few different ways you can win when playing a videogame. It just so happens that Zender is about to learn there are a few ways to lose as well, specially when you're playing against Kodi and Pepper.

I wrote this one for Kodi (https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:ue.....ozbxvovskl666i)) featuring Zender (https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:hd.....tkdao3uuvnkkg5)) and Pepper (https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:yl.....dnoigzv755frwe))! Hope you guys enjoy it.

For some reason, Kodi could have sworn playing games with two other people hadn’t been so difficult when he was younger. Or perhaps it was just that time had erased the experience from his mind.

The black wolf hadn’t taken into account that he’d need an adapter to plug the additional controller to the console – had he used one of those back then? He had no recollection of that – and even if he’d had said adapter, one of the controllers was mostly unusable. The left joystick hanged limply as if all life had seeped out of it. It was sticky to the touch – well, all joysticks from all controllers were, after not having used for years – but that was easily solvable with a piece of cloth and some water.

What all that ultimately meant was that their game night, which had originally been planned for three people, would have to be reconverted into a two-people-gaming-while-the-other-person-watched night. But that wasn’t so bad, Kodi thought.

They’d been playing a fighting game and his friend Zender wasn’t half bad at it. The blue-furred rabbit insisted that he was simply pushing random buttons, but by now Kodi was certain he was lying. There was no way he kept producing all those combos by accident.

They were in the middle of their third round – the one which would decide who of them would win – when Pepper said the magic sentence with a teasing tone.

“Man, Zender looks so adorable when he’s focused on the screen.”

Pepper had been lying on the couch, one red-scaled leg hanging from the armrest and dangling back and forth. The red Charizard had lost the previous battle and was consequently watching his two other friends play.

The rabbit, whose gaze had been glued to the screen, had been licking his upper lip in deep concentration as he pushed buttons. He responded to Pepper’s statement with a nervous chuckle.

“W-what? Why would you say that all of a sudden? Ha, ha.”

Kodi was quick to use openings whenever he saw them in real life – even if he wasn’t as quick in videogames, apparently – and decided to take advantage of it.

“Pepper is right. Look at you, staring at the screen so intently.”

“Pffft,” came Zender’s response. The rabbit tried to play it cool, but Kodi knew he’d destabilized him.

A few more precise blows and the black wolf won the last round, becoming the winner of the battle. But he didn’t celebrate it. He had other things to think about.

“You do realize you blush when you try to pretend you’re not embarrassed, right?” he asked, turning to Zender.

The rabbit held his gaze, his long ears quickly falling behind his head.

“Uh… I have no idea what you mean,” he muttered. “Plus, this isn’t fair! You won by trying to make me flustered.”

“And did I manage to?”

“What do you…”

“You’re flustered now, aren’t you?” Pepper intervened.

The rabbit’s gaze moved from the wolf to the Charizard. His cheeks only grew redder.

“W-well, you can’t say I’m adorable in the middle of a battle,” the rabbit mumbled. “It’s bound to break my concentration.”

“I don’t think that’s a problem,” the wolf mentioned. “You do seem pretty good at focusing on screens, if you catch my drift.”

“Oh, he is,” Pepper confirmed with a chuckle. “And he looks even more adorable when the images displayed on a screen aren’t just a videogame, you know.”

“Reaaaaally.” Kodi’s grin only widened at this.

Zender didn’t know where to hide. He could take one comment even if it’d make him blush, but the fact that two of his hottest friends had paired to make him feel embarrassed was beyond his capabilities. The rabbit crossed his arms on his chest, trying to make it seem as if he was immune to all those words.

Obviously, it didn’t work. Both Pepper and Kodi were getting closer to him.

“G-guys…?” he asked.

“Well, I don’t have any spirals ready to be displayed on a screen,” Kodi was saying at the moment. “But I think I can come up with an alternative.”

“So can I,” Pepper agreed.

“You’re not being serious…” The rabbit stood up from the couch and walked a few steps away from his two friends. “W-we’re supposed to be playing games! That was the plan all along.”

Pepper chuckled softly.

“Well. Plans are subject to change.”

The red-scaled Charizard’s eyes were now fixed on Zender and the rabbit could only gulp as he realized why. He tried to look away from the dragon, but his gaze ended up inevitably meeting Kodi’s. The black wolf had also stood up and was approaching the rabbit slowly, a knowing smirk on his face.

And those eyes… they were pulsing. Swirling.

Zender’s body tensed momentarily as he noticed it and tried to walk backwards from the mesmerizing threat, but his back hit the wall. It was then when he realized there was no possible escape.

“Plus, it’s a game night,” Kodi added. “There’s a lot of games we can play, and there are certainly a lot of toys we can play with.”

“I… hmmf…” Zender felt a muffled moan escape his throat. “B-but…”

His eyes made a titanic effort to move away from Kodi’s gaze, but it was impossible.

Then, Pepper’s gaze got into his vision. The Charizard had walked past Kodi and was now getting closer. His eyes were pulsing and swirling just like the wolf’s – and his red-black spirals mixed in Zender’s mind with Kodi’s yellow and blue familiar pattern.

The rabbit’s head began to spin. Too many colors.

“In fact…” the Charizard whispered, leaning closer and resting an arm on the wall right behind Zender’s head. His gaze was so close now that it filled the rabbit’s mind for a second. “I think I can see a really interesting toy right in front of me.”

Zender tried to say something, but his mouth didn’t move. The word toy circled around his hazy mind, making him feel even more embarrassed and adding a strong note of arousal to the mix.

Kodi caught his attention then. The wolf grabbed the dazed rabbit’s chin and gently forced him to look into his swirling eyes. His thumb’s claw gently stroked the rabbit’s lips and he shuddered helplessly, his mind filling with blue and yellow. Filling again. Falling again. Doubly filling, falling.

So much that his mind was about to snap in half.

“Yeah, and don’t worry,” Kodi reassured his friend. He’d started drooling. He’s an adorable fluffy mess, after all, the wolf found himself thinking. “We’re perfectly okay with sharing toys, bunny-boy…”
