Chapter 9
Julian's Nightmare
Julian woke up to hearing ocean waves. He stretched out, slowly opening his eyes. To his surprise, he was at his personal three-level beachside condo on Tarion III, in the Sylph Island Chain! The room in the condo, which was on the third level, was decked out in luxury, as he had ordered when the condo had been bought: Breathable easy chairs in the room with a water bed complete with a heated blanket, and a nice table made from woven carbon fiber. The table had been a gift from Lenny, as Lenny knew how much Julian enjoyed motorsports. The inner and outer walls were made from 3-D printed concrete, reinforced to survive the planet's tropical atmosphere, including storms.
“Huh?" Julian said to himself as he got out of the bed. He was clearly confused. Wasn't he just on Vhaldaria at Mr. Foxmoore's castle? He then smelled cooked food: Strawberry waffles with hickory smoked bacon, and the scent of coffee with strawberry creamer.
Nothing could prepare Lenny for what he saw next. Lenny Leoson walked into the room, wearing a set of his black wrestling trunks, as well as his knee pads and open-toe boots, carrying a tray with two plates of the food Lenny smelled!
“Oh! You're awake, right on time!" Lenny said, setting the food down onto the table. “Good evening, love! Hope you don't mind breakfast for dinner tonight…" He grinned happily.
Julian was dumbstruck! “L...Lenny?"
Lenny gave a hearty chuckle. “Still tired from last night?"
Julian stumbled over his words in his reply. “Well I..I… Yeah, I guess so."
“How about we go out today after dinner? Taking in the fresh air of the beach and the smell of the surf will make you feel better."
Julian nodded in agreement, blushing. “Sound like a great idea..."
After eating the quick breakfast-dinner, Julian and Lenny went for a walk down the coast. Julian could see the ocean go on for miles, along with the bright backdrop of Moon City in the distance. The city stood across the short section of sea that stood between the Sylph Islands and the main continent of Endimi, where Moon City was located on the coast.
Julian noticed the all too familiar scene of this place. On the moonlit beach, both men,women and even children were recreating. All around him was a beautiful sight to see, with the gentle sound of the surf crashing into the shore, the light from all kinds of buildings glowing on the street, the smell of all kind street food from various vendors...
Lenny noticed the look on Julian's face. “Still feeling a bit hungry?"
Julian nodded. “I think so..."
“Well, why don't we buy some salmon sushi? That food truck makes among the best of seafood cuisine in this city." Lenny asked, pointing out one of the food trucks.
Julian smiled happily. “I'll take it. Thanks, big guy..."
After ordering the sushi, the two sat down on a nearby bench eating the meal they bought, having a great time and despite Lenny still wearing his wrestling gear, while julian wore tropical fabric clothes. He knew the people wouldn't mind. After all this is a public beachfront.
As they sat on the bench, Lenny looked over at his love. “Julian? There's something I want to ask you..."
Julian turned to the white lion. “...Yes lenny?"
Lenny got out a small box, and opened the lid. Inside, Julian saw a beautiful pair of red emerald wedding rings, with fine silver and gold bands! Lenny then asked the question:
“Julian Montreal, will you marry me?"
Julian gasped, completely thrown off, happiness flooding his entire being! “Yes! Yes, my love, I will-"
Julian blinked for a moment. Then, as he blinked, his vision of the world he once knew was changed! The sky quickly turned blood red, and there was a terrible copper-blood stench, matching the color of this sky! There was blood everywhere, and the people on the beach were gone! The once sea blue color on the beach was also changing into blood, but the worst part of this was Julian saw his future husband, Lenny Leoson was no longer there, but instead is some one he never seen or knew before in his life! The one in front of him was a muscular lion wearing a black armored suit with golden stripe going down the center, along with dark blue stripes going down the shoulders to the bottom of his legs! His eyes was blood red, a total contrast to Lenny's emerald greens, and an unknown purple liquid slowly dripped into his mouth from two tubes connected to a small pack on his back!
The unknown lion gave Julian a death glare and leveled Julian with a swift, powerful punch that sent him flying into the center of the beach!
The lion walked up to Julian, who was quickly trying to get his bearings, looking up at this unknown yet familiar assailant.
“All of this is your fault! You fail me!" The unknown lion roared in rage!
Julian was just as confused as he was afraid. “W-what!?"
The armored lion let out an enraged leonine roar! “How can you be unfaithful toward me?! I thought you said 'I'm the only one for you that could never be replaced!!'"
Julian try to stand up in just as much pain as horror! But this was just half of the nightmare…
Julian looked up above him, feeling something drip onto his face. As he looked up, he was in shock as the seen he saw!
“GALEN!!" Julian yelled, tears starting to fall from his eyes!
The Civibelos lion was hanging on a tall pole from restraints that were attached to his wrists and ankles that were connected to the pole itself! Blood was dripping from various wounds on his body! Julian could not deny it… It was non other than Galen Dhaelos, but he wasn't the only one there! On seperate poles, bound in the same way with wounds of their own was Zhal, Tommy, Uniko, Silva, Luso and Amon! Their fates seemed sealed, as here was no sign of life from any of the six members of the Phoenix Coven aside from Galen! But unlike his fellow coven brothers, galen was wearing the same suit like unknown lion that stood in front of Julian! Both their eyes started glowing red! Then, they both spoke in unison:
“This is all your fault… This is all your fault!!"
Galen then suddenly broke free of his restraints, and him with the other beastly lion lunged at Julian, ready to maul him to death!
“NOOOO!" Julian screamed, and the next moment, he awoke in horror. He saw he was back in Mr. Foxmoore's castle, with the entire Phoenix Coven around him!
“Julian are you okay!?" Amon asked. He checked the horned lion's pulse. “Calm down and breathe, it was just a bad nightmare..."
“Jeez, Julian! Your scream wake the entire coven! What was that dream about, anyway?" Eli asked.
Galen hugged Julian, trying to comfort him. “What happened in that nightmare, Julian?"
After catching his breath and getting his bearings, Julian told him what he had dreamt about that night.
