ADaHH Rewrite plot improvement

So, anyone who has read the original ADaHH knows generally how the plot plays out.
The story in general was supposed to be based off of real life events in a way but with a select number of conspiracy theories taken into consideration, adjusted and made real. An embellishment on real world crazy shit and made real into fantasy.
The 9/11 disaster for example has some extreme conspiracy theories surrounding it. Major conspiracy theories like this I should iterate, I do not personally believe are definitively real, I merely consider them super interesting.
Anyway, those conspiracy theories surrounding that incident in particular are real in the story. I am taking some of the craziest conspiracy theories I’ve heard of and adjusting them for story enhancement. In world they are still considered conspiracy theories by the general populace, but are real… fictionally. I can not stress this enough, story, not real!
For legal reasons, this story takes real world events and embellishes them, emphasizing the crazy shit for entertainment purposes. Not real, nor does the opinions of the characters in the story reflect what the author personally believes.
Now back to what this Journal entry is intended for.
Recent real world incidents involving rising tensions between US and Canada. No. full stop. The story will not have a crazy war between the US and Canada. But this crazy real world bs has given me some ideas on how to improve the story plot further.
New World Order is another one, or the Illuminati. A collection of powerful elites who control the entire world. Because of Conner’s reckless actions, instead of him going into the military, seems dumb to have all the crazy shit involving the US have zero consequences. So I have some ideas.
I do have some really good ideas on how some shit goes down and then things politically calm down in the US and Canada, no more tension and then that can lead more cleanly into the rest of the plotline in the original story, with some improvements obviously.
I should say, again, this story is completely fiction and any relation to real world events is because of inspiration. Nothing depicted in the story is something I personally condone or support.
