Sera's Despair.

Story by White Dragon on SoFurry

,

Everyone has a breaking point, even an angel.

High Seraph Sera seeks to discover why she's been experiencing these weird and unfamiliar feelings as of late. She used this technique a thousand times before. What could possibly go wrong? How could this simple thing go wrong, right? Right?

Let's find out, in: Sera's despair

Sera's Despair.

It was early in the morning, when Sera entered the small, secluded meeting room, the one that was seldomly used anymore. She shut the door behind her and locked it, so she would not be disturbed. She hadn't told anyone where she had gone or what she was going to do, since she was quite embarrassed by the sheer prospect of it alone, not to mention if Emmy would get any wind of it.

"I would die, if she knew ... "

She whispered to herself, while she went around the room closing the blinds on all the windows. When she was finally sure that no one could even accidentally look into the room, she turned towards the desk that dominated the middle of the smallish room. The table was as plain as everything else in the room. Heaven seemed to have a thing for plain whites and sky blues. But the table was not what caught her eye, the Spy Orb on its elegant yet simple stand was.

The High Seraph was very much used to these contraptions, as she used them frequently to keep an eye on suspects. Especially Charlie and her cohorts. It was considered to be the right thing to do, even if not the most ethical. Today however would be a different story, for today she would not spy on hell and its denizens. Today's use case was much more immoral and unethical than that, but she had no choice.

For days now she had bashed her brain about those feelings that had risen within her lately, whenever Sir Pentious was around, but to no avail. She was unable to make sense of it all, so she chose to use the Orb to get her answers.

She approached the table, taking deep breaths to calm herself, before taking a look at the blank, opaque crystal ball.

"Where to begin?"

Sera asked out loud, as if someone would be with her to give her advice on the matter. The moment she had spoken it out loud she was ashamed of herself already.

She thought about it, and remembered that she had "overheard" a couple of winners talking about relationships on earth the other day. They had fluidly switched between topics, dating, sex, activities, kinks and some other things too, she had not listened to too closely. She remembered that some of what had talked about had sounded familiar, felt familiar.

Her curiosity peaked yet again and she looked at the Orb once more.

"Yes, yes I need to know. I need to make sure ... it can't be ... it mustn't be!"

Sera whispered to herself, clenching her fists tight enough for them to hurt, before she opened her right hand and lifted it up over the Orb. There it hovered for a moment, while she still struggled to commit.

Finally she laid it upon the crystal ball and concentrated, willing it to show her a scene of humans on earth "dating".

She felt the energy within the device and then it began to shimmer with heavenly light before a picture materialized within the confines of the Orb. It showed a man in his middle ages and a woman of roughly the same age sitting at a table outside a nicely decorated building eating some kind of food. Looking closer the angel decided it would be an outside section of a restaurant or something of that kind. Her attention snapped back to the couple eating.

Sera was pleased in a way to see them just sitting there eating their respective food and holding a conversation about their day and what was planned for the following days.

"Completely reasonable, nothing to worry about here ..."

She mused and kept watching as the couple finally paid and left the establishment to go their merry ways.

She caught herself feeling some pang of disappointment, but could not place it on anything in particular.

Spurred on by this completely harmless encounter, she concentrated once more and willed the Orb to show her some different scenes of humans dating.

Again the Orb hummed with energy and began to shimmer, before revealing a scene that shows a somewhat dark room, in which a great many people sat in rows of seats, watching something projected onto a wall.

The Angel blinked, unsure why she was shown this scene, but then it clicked.

"Oh yes, I remember, they call this a movie theater. They assembled there to watch a movie ..."

She explained to herself and added in her thoughts:

Just like I do now ...

And there was it again, that sheepish feeling of embarrassment. She was disappointed in herself and the Orb and was in the motion of dismissing the scene altogether when some little detail caught her eye. She squinted her eyes to see the detail better, before remembering that the Orb way able to zoom in and enhance the picture she was looking at.

So she made it zoom in on a couple, sitting somewhere in the middle of the crowd. At first there was nothing special about them, but then she saw it. Both had a hand shoved into the other one's pants and ...

"... and they are moving them ..."

She hissed, as she kept watching, as these humans were clearly doing something to the other, which made them bite their lips and close their eyes.

The other humans did not seem to notice, or at least they did not mind, while the two were moving their hands faster by the moment.

Sera was gripped by what was happening, unable to look away, when finally their movement became more desperate, choppy and they bit their lips much, much harder, while gripping their armrests with just as much force and their bodies went stiff for a moment.

What little sound had escaped their mouths had been drowned out by the movie's noise, as again, no one around them paid them any heed.

It took the couple a moment to settle down again, but the satisfaction on their faces, as well as a good amount of mischief was clearly to be seen on their faces.

Sera looked on, as they finally withdrew their respective hands from their pants and pulled them back to themselves. She thought the scene was over, and she was already contemplating the implications of it all, as she saw how the man brought the hand up to his face. She leaned closer and then she saw the glistening on his hand, it was wet with some kind of clear fluid and before she could even realize what it was, he licked it off completely and seemed to relish in the taste.

Gasping Sera looked over to the woman, whose hand was covered by another fluid, more thick and opaque in nature and she did the same.

The High Seraph shook her head in disbelief, but was unable to tear her eyes from the Orb. She knew enough about human reproduction to know exactly what those fluids were and she was equally disgusted and intrigued by them.

"How can they do something as intimate and private like that without even ..."

She called out her disgust, but ultimately held back as her eye caught something glinting on the man's hand. A narrow, golden band around the fourth finger of his right hand.

"Oh ... I see ... they are married ... nevertheless ..."

She frowned at the idea of doing such a private and intimate thing in public. These things belonged in a private bedroom, behind closed doors and window blinds, under covers ...

She lifted her hand off the Orb and it instantly went blank again, while Sera turned around and began pacing back and forth in the small room.

"I am doing my best to be more open minded, I really do! I do not want to be so presumptuous ... and judging! But why ..."

She called out to no one in particular, just trying to convince herself of it.

"... tell me! Why is it so hard!"

She looked at the Orb, all still and unmoving, giving her no answers, and so she continued pacing, trying to calm down, but failed miserably. The more she tried to calm herself down, the more her thoughts circled back to what she had seen and even more so what she had felt, not only when watching those humans, but also when Sir Pentious was near her.

She chewed on her lip, gesturing with her hands as she was so agitated that she was unable to keep them still.

She had waited far too long to face this problem, it had festered in her since he had been the first redeemed winner, the first to successfully absolve Charlie's program. Now the feelings had taken root in her and she had no chance of taking them out anymore, she needed to face them, know what they were and how to handle them.

Sera felt her control slowly slipping away, she knew it would be the right thing to stop here and now and try again later, when she would be in a better disposition, but she also knew all too well that if she would stop now, she would not have the fortitude to do this again. She was strong, but not that strong.

Taking a deep breath she approached the Orb once again and place a trembling hand on it, wishing for it to show her more humans in a more private setting doing ... something ... anything.

The Orb awoke again and showed her two women asleep in the same bed.

It took her a moment to realize her fault and then she slapped a hand flat to her forehead, remembering that the Orbs, mighty and all-seeing as they were, needed precise instructions for what to show, else they would sometimes get creative.

Her sigh sounded exhausted and enervated.

"Listen, I am well aware of same sex relationships, even marriages, sinful as they may be. Are these ones even in a serious relationship? Married?"

Once more she asked no one in particular and she very well knew she would not get an answer. She let her gaze wander to the ceiling, as if that would get her the answers she demanded, for she knew "HE" was always listening.

He knew all, as he was all powerful. But he had retreated from his creation aeons ago, and no one, not even the oldest among them had seen him since then. Only that wretched Speaker of God, at least she claimed that.

The High Seraph decided to not dwell on that thought any longer, it would only make things more complicated and she dared not to think what was pecking on her mind right now. Instead she turned back to the Orb and the two women, fast asleep in their bed.

She kept watching for a little while longer, but when there were no signs of them waking up, or anything else happening, she felt disappointed and wanted to change the scene once more.

When she reached for the Orb again she hesitated, as she saw the shaking of her hand. Pulling her ad back she grabbed it with her other and held it to her chest, taking a few deep breaths in the hope of calming her nerves. IT did not work as intended and thus, pressing her lips into a thin line, she placed her shaking hand back onto the Orb.

Sera closed her eyes and sorted her thoughts before giving the command to it.

"Show me a man and his woman having ... sex ... in their bedroom."

She made absolutely sure that she had given unmistakable orders to it this time. No mistakes, no detours, she would not be able to handle all of this too much longer.

The Orb gave the all too familiar shimmer, before revealing to the High Seraph what she had demanded of it.

The picture in the crystal ball showed a couple in bed together, with the man laying on top the woman, whose legs and arms were wrapped around his body. He was working his hips hard, flexing his body against hers, making her cry out in what seemed a mix of pleasure and pain to Sera, with each new thrust, while he made sounds more akin to a low grunting.

Sera was captivated by what was going on there, it was so foreign, so primal and yet, it spoke to her on a much deeper level than she had ever anticipated.

The embarrassment she had felt earlier, while spying on the other humans, was back and in full force, yet there was something else she could not quite place.

Then it happened and she witnessed the man press his midsection into the woman with all his might, while his grunts devolved into a guttural scream of what she assumed to be the woman's name, while said woman hooked her nails into his back, clawing him to the best of her abilities, screaming:

"Oh God. Please, Let Him Get Me The Fuck Pregnant!"

The mixture of primal pleasure and pain in the woman's face was a picture Sera would never forget.

Meanwhile the man sighed deeply and collapsed onto the woman, kissing and caressing her neck while trying to catch his breath, before rolling off to the side, laying there for a moment longer. After he caught his breath, he reached down and got a hold of the covers, pulling them up and over them both, hiding them from the High Seraph's view.

She gasped and quickly placed her hand upon the Orb to pause the picture, freezing it just before the blanked settled completely over the two lovers. Leaving it like that for a moment she propped herself up upon the table to stabilize for a moment, contemplating her feelings and thoughts about what she wanted to do next. Her jaws ground slowly as her eyes were fixed upon the face of the woman, who was in a state of near ecstasy at that point.

In the end the Angel somewhat succeeded in convincing herself that it was not for her own excitement, but for research that she would study what had been on display there once more.

Slowly, she reached for the Orb, carefully touching its surface, feeling the immense energy within it and manipulated it to rewind the footage just a tad bit, until the picture showed exactly what she wanted to see.

With a small adjustment of her hand, the Orb zoomed in on the woman, whose body laid splayed out on the rumbled sheets, bare for her prying eyes to see.

Sera swallowed and adjusted the viewing angle of the Orb and zoomed in closer, letting the frame of the picture wander over the naked, sweated body, along its curves down between her legs.

There it was, the thing of her desire ...

"No, no that is not true ... I ... I do not desire it. Desire is a sin ..."

She berated herself, but was unable to peel her eyes of the woman's sex, depicted very clearly and in much detail within the Orb.

"By the maker ..."

She whispered, as she indulged more into the picture. She realized that it was the first time she ever truly looked at it. Sure there had been accidental flashes before, but she had never paid any heed to it, since it had never been of any interest to her before now.

But now, she was well and truly unable to take her eyes off of it.

"By God, it is beautiful ..."

She whispered and took in all the sights. Despite the semi-darkness of the room, she could very clearly see its bright pink color, could see how swollen its petals were, and was able to witness its sheen, as it was not moist, but wet. It was not only their sweat that made her skin glisten in the low light, there were other bodily fluids just as well. She remembered the scene from earlier in the movie theater.

"So this is ... mhm ..."

Sera mused as she identified what was seeping from her cleft. She was well and truly captivated, as she focused more and more on the female's reproductive organ.

She didn't even notice how she played the picture back and forth a few times to see in more detail what was happening there.

The other thing the High Seraph didn't notice, at least not in the first place, was how much time flowed by with her indulging in her "studies".

Only when she became aware of a somewhat strong, warm feeling emanating from between her own legs, did she tear herself away from the Orb.

With her withdrawing from it, the Orb faded to blank once more and Sera stepped back from the table. Anxiety, curiosity, excitement, but also embarrassment and anger fought inside of her, as she slowly, hesitantly reached down her front. Her hand got a grip on her dress and began to lift it up, revealing her long, slender legs. Her breath went in sallow gasps, as her one hand held her dress, while the other reached between her legs.

She felt her soft, smooth skin, as her hand slowly felt her way further, sliding along the inside of her thigh upwards towards her very own ...

Suddenly, as her first finger made contact, she inhaled sharply, gasping for air, as the sensation of touching herself in that way was so foreign to her.

It threatened to overwhelm her completely, as not only was it her first time ever, she had been touched like that, but also had she never before indulged in watching it being done to others before.

She held her breath, trying to withstand these alien feelings, but she had to stop shortly after, pulling her hand from between her thighs and letting her dress drop back down.

Her hand was not trembling anymore, it was visibly shaking as Sera lifted it up before her face, looking closely at it. It was coated by the same clear liquid like that man had had on his before, though to a lesser degree.

Her mind raced, stumbled and came to a crashing stop, while she kept looking at her hand.

Had she actually ... liked ... what she had seen? Did it have an arousing effect on ...

"No! No, no, no, no! NO! It can't. It mustn't!"

She muttered under her breath, while the scent of her own arousal wafted against her nostrils.

She wasn't here for that, she didn't do this for that.

She berated herself in her mind.

"It is all for research ... to help me understand ... I need to know ... do you understand? I must know!"

She pleaded, her voice almost cracking.

"I need to know why I feel like that when he is around."

She tried to argue with herself and with whoever was there to listen.

She would need to continue, she must not stop now, or everything before was in vain. All she already had endured would be for nothing if she stopped now.

She turned back to the Orb, that crystal ball that held the key to her fall and redemption, the key to heaven ... and hell.

Her mind was on an emotional rollercoaster and her thoughts were a big smoldering heep, as Sera approached the Orb one more time. Her breath was ragged and her hand shook uncontrollably by the time she held it over the crystal ball.

When she placed it on the smooth, cool surface of the Orb, it soothed her most violent jitters, and it calmed her mind just enough for her to focus.

Please ...

She thought pleadingly, having trouble with her own desperation.

Please, let me see something on earth that has some connection to heaven.

She literally begged the Orb, repeating her plea over and over again in her mind. Slowly the well known surge of energy was felt in the Ball and it began to shimmer.

Anxiously Sera closed her eyes, afraid of what the crystal would show her this time. It took her a while but then she recognized the constant murmuring that emanated from the Orb, as it was calming and soothing to her mind. Her breathing slowed and she regained a modicum of control over herself, thanks to whatever was on the Orb right now.

When Sera finally reopened her eyes and gazed upon the picture shown to her, she was greeted by a very familiar sight.

It showed a congregation of people sitting in some sort of church. It naturally looked somewhat different from the cathedrals up here in heaven, but that was to be expected, miserable builders as humans were, but it was familiar enough to leave no room for doubts.

The many rows of pews were filled with humans of all kinds, young and old, rich and poor alike. As the angel looked closer, she could see that many of them had books on their laps and were reciting verses from it.

Even though she could not really understand the murmur emanating from the crowd, what they were chanting was somewhat soothing to her she concluded, that were most likely praying to god, and therefore doing the good deed, which pleased her immensely.

"So they are not all lost ... that is at least something, I guess."

Listening to their mumbling a bit longer, enjoying the soothing nature of their prayers, Sera soon came across a question in her mind.

"But how do they even grasp the concept of our maker? How do they even know he is there? We certainly didn't tell them and he himself didn't either. I mean ..."

She paused for a moment, mulling over that thought in her head. The matter of fact was, even they, the angels, his angels, had never seen or talked to him either.

"At least not directly ..."

She added frustrated, remembering that the Speaker of God claimed to be the only one who had a direct connection to him, and even that bitch had never really proven that.

Even Lucifer hadn't spoken with him, and he had been the best of them, until his inevitable fall.

"Which was claimed by the Speaker to be the direct will of the maker."

Sera uttered, feeling her head begin to spin anew, weaving all the wrong thoughts, causing all the wrong emotions.

Rage boiled up inside of her.

"That was thousands of years before these upstarts even started worshipping god in the first place, so how dare they claim to know him ..."

She shouted at the crystal ball, as if it could give her the answer. Feeling her mind slip away again, the High Seraph quickly focused on pushing away these thoughts, afraid she might commit an unredeemable sin, if she would dwell on that train of thought any longer.

She looked at the Orb with renewed vigor, watching these humans sitting in the pews, but something had changed. Some of them were leaving, while some stayed, lining up at a small wooden ... box? Wardrobe?

"What is that thing?"

She asked whispering, zooming in on it and watching, as nothing seemed to happen, then another human came into view. He looked stern, stiff in his posture, wore a black suit and held a more ornate version of the book they had read before. He nodded to the waiting, smiled, and then entered that box through a door on the one side.

Another human, one of the waiting ones, entered through the other side and pulled the door closed behind them.

Then silence. Nothing happened for a while.

Sera was almost willing to switch the scene again, when finally the human, who had waited before, exited the box again, his face one of relief, as he ventured forth from that mysterious wooden crate.

"What is that? What are they doing in there? That expression on his face, they would not have done anything in there now, did they?"

She asked, feeling that rage boiling up again, but not only rage, something else too. Curiosity maybe?

Before she could make up her mind, she saw another human, a woman this time, entering the box.

Impatiently she waited for the female to leave the box again, so she could see if she had the same expression on her face as the man. It took her what felt like an eternity, till she finally reemerged from it, and indeed she had that very same satisfied, relieved expression on her face, before she went her way, only for another man to take her place inside.

"That's it, I need to see ... I need to know."

The Angel mumbled and forced the Orb to zoom in on the box, further and further, until the view protruded through the lid of the box, only to reveal the true contents of it.

Indeed it was two small compartments inside, separated by an opaque screen. On the one side sat the human in the black suit, listening, while on the other side knelt the man, who had just entered the box.

As she listened in on them, Sera could understand the low spoken voice of the man, as he was confessing his sins to the other man.

"Father, forgive me, for I have sinned."

Began the man, only to then follow up with a long list of petty sins, he had committed since his last confession. They were incredibly mundane things, but they seemed to weigh down on him greatly. The other man, who clearly wasn't this man's father, but reacted to the title just the same, listened in silence and when the other one had finished, he spoke up.

"My son, for your sins to be forgiven, you have to call seven Hail Mary's, and a donation into the collection would not be in vain as well."

He spoke in a solemn voice and the man thanked him profoundly.

"Good, now go, in nomine padre et filii et spiritus sancti."

The man answered with an "Amen" and left the box, leaving Sera dumbfounded.

She paused the recording, taking her hand off the Orb, shaking her head.

"What?"

It escaped her before she could hold it back. She was deeply unsettled by what she had just witnessed, and as if she was not certain she had heard it right, she rewound the scene for a bit and rewatched the whole thing once more. Indeed, she had heard correctly.

"Do ... do they really think that calling a few cheap prayers and PAYING for it would redeem them? Are they really that dumb?"

She asked out loud, not believing it to be true. She quickly watched a few more humans come and go, confessing their sins and getting their absolvation from that other human all the same.

"Then again ... what would redeem them?"

She mused, unsure what would be necessary to secure them a place in heaven. In fact she really did not know, no one but god himself knew, and he would not tell.

If it wasn't so unsettling it would be amusing, to see them confess, try to redeem themselves only to ultimately fail and end up in hell.

"Well, I sure hope that anything you do down there will have an effect on whether you end up here, or down there."

With this said, the High Seraph placed her hand back on the Orb and zoomed back out of the "Box of Confession" as she had dubbed it for herself. She made a mental note to look out for that human in the black suit, as she wanted to know where he would end up when his name was finally called.

For now, she focussed herself on the slowly thinning crowd in the church.

One woman in particular sparked her interest, for she wasn't praying for her own safety, but for her sister's wellbeing. Sera watched her for a bit and noticed that she had an unusually big belly.

She contemplated what had made her belly swell that much, when it hit her.

"Oh, she is pregnant. Right, right, should have thought about that. Must be extremely inconvinient ..."

The angel mused, imagining how cumbersome such a belly had to be, since she never had been pregnant herself. It was not entirely unheard of, and she knew that angels were capable of reproducing that way, but she wasn't able to dwell too long on that thought, because all hell broke loose in the church.

Pulled out of her musings, Sera watched in shock, how the woman in question toppled over, held her stomach and screamed from the top of her lungs.

Horror and morbid fascination warred inside of her, as she witnessed how the female was dragged out of the pews and laid on the carpet of the middle aisle, while someone hecticly fumbled with their phone.

"Call 911, she's going into labour!"

Someone called, ordering others around, before trying to talk to the woman, who was looking to be in serious pain.

Sera was captivated by the whole thing, wondering what would happen now. She had never bore witness to a human being born and it sparked her curiosity to no end.

"They say the ambulance will take at least half an hour ..."

The one on the phone called out, which made the others more nervous somehow. Under a lot of cursing, the people started to gather whatever they could find to make the labouring woman more comfortable, as the man shouting the orders said, they would need to bring the child into the world right then and there.

While two women flanked her and held her hands, the man started talking to her in a calm tone, explaining many things, which Sera did not really understand.

Then they started to remove the woman's clothes from her lower body, which made at least some sense to her, since how else would the little human get out of its mother. At least that much she already knew.

The way it got into her, it would get out of her as well.

Again sera found herself completely captivated by what she saw, biting her own lips, as she slowly rotated the view in the Orb to get a better angle.

By then, all people, not directly needed to help the woman giving birth, were ordered to leave the church, and the man in the black suit, who was called Father by everyone for some reason or another, ushered them all out. Those who left wished the woman the best of luck before taking their belongings and departed.

That again, was something Sera did not understand, not at all.

"Why wouldn't you want to see the wonder of life? See how a new life is born, a human being, made in the image of god himself."

She uttered, disappointed once more in that most primitive, even feral species that was held in such high regard by their maker.

They even took their children with them. Why?

No answer was given to her.

Meanwhile the birth progressed very quickly, and the mother-to-be screamed her pain and agony into the church's main ship, while squeezing the hands offered to her by the women beside her with such force that they winced with her.

Sera watched closely, wishing for that pesky man to move aside, so she could see better, and when he finally leaned to one side to grab some blanked of sorts, she gasped for air. Between the woman's legs, her vagina was stretched to the absolute limit, while the top of the infant's head was already protruding.

"... you are doing great, now push ... for the love of god, push girl, push ..."

The one woman encouraged her. She took another breath and screamed again, calling out for her god to help her, while the child emerged further.

The High Seraph didn't even notice how she held her breath, unable to tear her eyes from the image shown to her. She also did not notice how she tensed her abs in tune with the woman in the church and had her hand firmly placed on her lower belly.

Finally the baby slipped free from her mother and was captured by the man, who had given all the orders, wrapped in some discarded blankets and given to the woman, who looked overjoyed and devastated at the same time.

When it all was over, and the ambulance arrived to take the mother and her newborn child to the hospital, Sera finally noticed her body screaming for air and gasped for the livegiving gas. She also realized that she had held her lower belly the whole time and there was that warm, tingling sensation between her legs again.

For a moment she wanted to check if her own vagina was moist again, but then she shoved that urge aside, as she was too afraid of what she would discover there.

Instead she told herself, she would best go back to the task at hand, and "research" a few more scenes of humans dating.

She looked at the Orb which still showed the now more or less empty church, in which just a few humans remained and were in the process of cleaning the place.

She lifted her hand over the crystal ball, but hesitated to place it upon the all seeing artifact, for she felt compelled to watch some more births, but she could not really tell why. It did not really make sense, then again it totally did, since the birth was the ultimate consequence of humans dating, the key goal of a successful relationship. Two humans finding each other, engaging with each other, marrying and subsequently procreating. That was what was supposed to happen now, was it not?

She did not realize that she was just trying to justify the urge to see a woman giving birth before herself, for there was no one else there to judge her. Well, at least no one that would ... care ...

When she finally convinced herself that it was OK for her to indulge a bit more in that new fascination of hers, she placed her hand back upon the Orb and sorted her mind and thoughts before willing it to show her more scenes of women giving birth.

The crystal ball shimmered once more and switched scenes.

Birth after birth was shown to her, of many different women in just as many different scenarios.

She saw births taking place in private homes, on the way to the hospital, most of them happened indeed at hospitals, but each one of those still looked very different from one another. Some of the more interesting ones happened under less ideal circumstances, like at the side of a road, or in an elevator. A few were done in pools, which made absolutely no sense to Sera, wouldn't the newborn drown? No, it turned out it would not, very fascinating indeed.

She witnessed one vagina after the next, pushing out infants, bringing life into the world below.

The high Seraph was enthralled by what that organ, that human vagina was capable of, and she demanded the Orb the show her more and more, while she tweaked and manipulated the viewing angles in such a way that they focused on the birth itself more so than the scene as a whole.

The plight and pain of the individual took up less and less focus with each new scene she witnessed and gave way to the spectacle that was to be seen below the waistline of the mother-to-be.

She was uncertain how many women she had watched giving birth. By now it was all a blur, the scenes itself background noise, the picture of a vulva doing what should be impossible.

She flicked through the scenes the Orb showed her, addicted to what she saw without noticing it, until she came across one that was different in a way she had not predicted.

The woman in question lay in a hospital bed, her hands wrapped around the guardrails of it, her body scantily covered by the typical hospital shirt. The shirt itself was almost see through with all the sweat permeated through it. She had her head thrown back and was moaning out loud, while her body was convulsing over her woes.

Sera watched as another contraction washed over the young woman's body, bending her inwards, making her cry out loud. Something about her cries was different though. There was almost no pain in them, it was pleasure through and through.

As she settled between the woes the woman looked at one of the nurses next to her.

"By the heavens, I think I'm gonna cum again ..."

She uttered under her breath and the nurse nodded with a weary expression on her face, dabbing the sweat from the woman's brow. Then another contraction wrecked her body and she threw her head back with an almost feral scream, while she pushed hard, shoving out her newborn yet a bit more.

Sera's eyes were fixed on the globe, utterly enraptured by the scene that played out before her. Again she changed the angle, focussing more upon the woman's sex than the whole thing.

The baby's head wasn't even half way through, when the next climax hit the woman, and she wailed her pleasure into the void, pushing her child out more with the contraction of her muscles.

After this the mother-to-be fell back onto the bedding, panting hard, exhaustion written all over her face, as the short lived bliss of her high ebbed away, but her body was not yet finished with her. Like a punishment for her having conceived a child at all, soon her face grimaced again, as her muscles began to tense up again, needing to finish ... what they had started.

"Oh by the heavens ... not again ..."

She whispered, tears welling up in her eyes, but nature knew no mercy, as her child needed to be brought into this world, now.

Another woe, another screamed moan, as pleasure and pain built up anew. The nurses tried to cool her down, with wet towels, dab off her sweat and offered words of encouragement, while nature took its course.

The Angel gasped, as the woman reared up again and again, moaning and screaming, while she gave her all. Sera caught herself again, feeling with the mother-to-be, tensing her muscles, breathing in tune with the woman shown to her, even though it would ever be the same for her.

Then with one final push, accompanied by one last orgasm, the baby's head was freed from its mother's vagina, while she screamed:

"Oooooh, By All The Angels In Heaven ... Yeeeessss ... !"

Sera instantly slapped a hand over her mouth to stop her from gasping, and witnessed the rest of the birth. She was so captured by it, she didn't notice the pulsating sensation in her lower abdomen, deep within.

The fact that the woman had cried out to the angels, had taken her by complete surprise. Normally these frail humans cried out to God, so he would come and save them, but angels, that had just been so unexpected.

She breathed through her nose, trying to calm herself, while she leaned her pelvis against the table for support.

Why did all this affect her so much?

She was lost for words and her thoughts were racing once more.

It was only then that she noticed the smell and taste. It was strange, completely alien to her, yet intriguing and somewhat to her liking. She sniffed the air and wanted to lick her lips, when she noticed that she still had her hand over her mouth. She took it away from her face and looked at it.

"Why ... ?"

She asked herself, inspecting her hand and it suddenly hit her like a thunderclap.

"No ... no it can't be ..."

Sera muttered, bringing her hand closer again, as she noticed the slight sheen on her hand. She remembered it to be the hand she had placed upon herself earlier, the one she had covered with her own fluids, when she had felt for her own sex.

Her breathing quickened and she brought the hand closer, taking a sniff once more. Her eyes widened, as she confirmed her suspicion that it really was the smell that had intrigued her just then.

She gasped at the implications and her mind spiraled out of control.

"No ... no no no ..."

She stuttered, her body beginning to glow, as her true angelic form threatened to burst out of her, eyes forming on her arms her halo glistening with diving power.

"D-do ... do I ... hannnnn ..."

Sera felt she could not breath, gasping for air only to realize she did not inhale. Her body's muscle cramping, as she fought within herself.

She mustn't give in to the urge to taste it again, to confirm her suspicion once and for all.

It all fell into place. The thoughts of earlier, her urge to keep watching, the need to see more, her body craving to feel what she had beared witness to.

Her mind screamed at her to pull herself together, the divine will, unbreakable, unrelenting, unyielding to the feral urges of those sinners buckled under the weight of a body who had been deprived of satisfaction for aeons.

Her hand was moving as if under the control of someone else ... closer and closer to her mouth. Every breath was filled with her own scent, her tongue sticking out willing to taste herself.

Her mind screamed, her body screamed and she was on the brink of collapse.

The High Seraph leaned heavy against the table, its edge pressing against her just above her sex, adding further stimulation. She had managed to bring her other hand up and was wrestling her soiled hand away from her face.

"No ... NOOO ... I must not give in!"

She literally screamed, paying no attention anymore if anyone would hear her or find her, spying on others having ... having ... SEX.

She wrestled her hand down, pushing it onto the Orb, weighing it down with all her might and mass, making the crystal groan under the force put upon it.

"P-please ... oh mighty Orb ... show me something ... something else ..."

She pleaded under her breath, her mind an absolute mess, the thoughts long spiraled out of any control she once had over them.

When the globe began to glow, she witnessed a scene that finally pushed her over the edge.

What once had been a nuisance, a minor inconvenience, had evolved to a throbbing sensation she was unable to ignore.

Sera shuddered, her muscles convulsing, as her eyes widened beyond measure.

She ... she ... she ...

When she opened her eyes, all she saw was white.

Featureless white.

Soothing, calming, relaxing, innocent, divine, featureless white.

Sera blinked.

Black ... White ...

She took a deep breath, trying to make a rhyme out of it, before she let her gaze wander a bit around.

She was lying on her bed, in her room, but it felt strange ... alien even.

Before the absence of color, the innocence of white, its divine nature had been soothing to her, helped her calm down after a long and arduous day, but now it felt wrong, unsettling.

Again she took a deep breath, trying to remember how she had gotten into her bed, for she was sure she hadn't laid down.

"A dream ... ?"

She whispered nervously. But if she had fallen asleep in the conference room, next to the Orb, someone could find her, could see what she was doing. Panic rose in her and so she sat up in her bed, throwing the covers off herself.

She looked down at herself and saw the clothes she had worn, not her normal nightgown.

"So, no dream ... "

She muttered, not really convinced, but what was she supposed to do about it.

"How did I get here ... ? Wasn't I supposed to be ... ?"

Then the memories hit her with the force of divine intervention.

She remembered her desperation, how she had taken one of the Spy Orbs, placed it in that secluded little meeting room. She had locked herself in to spy on the humans on earth, had invaded their privacy, had witnessed their most intimate moments under the disguise of research.

In the end she realized how much she had enjoyed watching them do ... IT ... how much it had affected her.

And then everything had gone dark.

Somehow she had managed to crawl back into her room ... lay done and slept it off ... that had to be what had happened.

It took a little while for the realization to settle, but then it felt as if something she had reached a limit, was at a breaking point and moving forward was no longer a viable option. Her breathing hitched, as she then realized that after the experience of yesterday, moving back wasn't an option anymore either.

Her mouth fell open and she took a shaking breath, as that feeling of hopelessness and despair just overwhelmed her.

Burying her head in her hands she started sobbing.

There was something of an existential threat looming over her, as she remembered how she had seen the sinners in hell as completely degenerated, feral heddens, who had to be exterminated before they would pose a threat for the whole creation.

She dwelled upon these exterminations that had been championed by her of all angels. Her mind upon the countless sinners they had erased from existence, who could have been saved by Charlie's program, if it had not been for her and her decision to trust in such a cruel and depraved solution for a problem, they didn't even know if it was really there.

They all had been sure that redemption was a myth. Never before had a soul achieved redemption and they had all laughed at Charlie's proposal.

"If ... if I had known back then ..."

She sobbed into her hands, before throwing her head back and screaming at the ceiling:

"If I had known, I would have never allowed these exterminations to happen. Do you hear me? How should I have known?"

She wailed, pulling her knees up and burying her head in her hands and knees and continued sobbing.

They had trusted in the process of killing every and all sinners to be the only way to prevent hell from overflowing and even considered a full on genocide upon all hell, but then Sir Pentious had redeemed himself and had been the first of many proofs that Charlie's program worked.

It had been the final evidence that all of the exterminations of the past had been unjust and vile.

"No ... not vile ..."

She sobbed.

"They ... they were outright evil!"

She uttered, which only added to her feeling disgusted by herself.

Before, souls were simply divided by who went to heaven and who went to hell and that was that. But now, souls could prove themselves worthy of ascending to heaven, making it all so much more difficult.

It had all culminated when she had not been able to avert the holy war that had been declared against them by Overlord Vox just a few weeks ago, showing how weak and unable she really was.

Had it not been for Emily, Sir Pentious and some others preventing it from happening, this war would most likely have consumed them all, then and there.

All but drowning in despair Sera's thoughts turned towards yesterday, and how had it gone so far from what she had planned in the beginning. She had set out to do some research, get to grips with those emotions, make sense of these feelings that had been pestering her whenever Sir Pentious was around. In the end however, instead of researching these feelings, she had gone astray, went down a rabbit hole from which she had not yet returned to the surface.

Pondering what had happened, how it all went down, she found herself feeling sickened by herself, as she had liked what she had seen.

All of it, even the more extreme ... and strange things.

She couldn't deny it anymore, it was too obvious, and in the end she did not even try to deny it, which somehow made it even worse.

"I am wretched. I am just as sinful as them."

She sobbed and her face felt hot, as the realisation hit her, making her breath hitch in her throat and shaking her body.

"I am just another lost soul. Just like them."

She repeated, her voice hoarse, tears soaking the fabric of her gown, as she tried to bury her face deeper between her hands and knees.

She was not better than any of these sinners in hell, who had most likely prayed their whole life for redemption and absolvation of their sins, only to be denied said absolvation in death, condemning them to an eternity in hell.

But to make it even more worse than it already was, she was sitting here in heaven and was just as bad, just as hedonistic as they were, and she would spend the rest of eternity in heaven, in paradise. The only difference was, they were now able to redeem themselves, where she saw no way of ever redeeming herself.

She relived the past day and everything she had watched and the more she remembered, the more she was sick with herself.

All the little things that had escaped her yesterday, now came crashing down on her. Like how she had felt while watching women giving birth, how she had wished to feel that herself, how she had contracted her muscles in tune with those females and how she had envied them, especially that one woman, who came during her labour.

The despair of knowing how depraved she really was and how much she really wanted to feel that way, drove her to the brink of total collapse.

She wasn't able to think straight anymore, breathing was a chore, with her body sobbing so hard it rivaled the convulsions of the women she had watched.

It was then that she remembered what it had been that she had watched last, when she had been close to her breaking point.

She had been leaning on the Orb, begging it to show her something else, anything but more of what she saw up until then. She could not remember having thought of Charlie and Vaggie at that point, but she must have, since the Orb would not have shown her the couple, if she hadn't ordered it to do so.

A new wave of guild washed over Sera, as she recalled how she watched, like the greedy little voyeur she was at that point, how the two of them had frolicked with one another in Charlie's chambers, doing things she wasn't even able to describe, even if someone had asked her to. She remembered what Charlie had done to her chosen partner with her tail, while Vaggie had done unimaginable things with her angelic wings.

And she remembered how she had felt then, and how she felt about it now, as that incredible sensation between her legs returned.

There was a deep throbbing feeling right between her legs, that was accompanied by that pulsating sensation that urged her to touch herself, right here and now.

Sera wasn't sobbing anymore, she was wailing.

"Father, why have you forsaken me?"

She didn't notice the door to her chamber being opened and subsequently closed, she was too lost in her thoughts and her fight with her inner demons.

Only when she felt the mattress of her bed being depressed and she felt arms wrapping around her hugging her from behind.

"Sera, sister, please."

Emily whispered, trying to pull her back from the abyss that was her mind right now, but the High Seraph was unable to react directly, she continued sobbing, pulling her knees up tighter.

"Sera, tell me what's wrong."

Her sister asked softly, barely loud enough for Sera to hear, but it sufficed to bring her back at least enough to comprehend her presence.

"You were gone, I searched all heaven for you. When I found you, you lay next to a blank, cracked Orb, on the floor of a meeting room."

The smaller angel explained, hugging her closer. Her voice filled with genuine sorrow.

"I was worried to hell and back, wasn't able to get you to wake up. I took you to the healers, but they couldn't find what was wrong with you. They said to just let you sleep it off."

Her sister went on, hugging her, whispering softly. Sera could feel the heat emanating for Emily, could feel the genuine concern and it made her feel even worse, for having caused that lovely little angel so much trouble.

"Can you please tell me what happened, please? Sister, what have you seen that it cracked the Orb and made you faint?"

It was more than sorrow and concern in Emily's voice, it was fear, and she had caused it, by ... for all intents and purposes ... watching porn. Sera really hated herself so much right now.

Even though her self-hatred was almost overwhelming her and her doubts were consuming her with every passing moment, she heard what her sister said and the relief that washed over her, when she realized that Emily had not seen what the Orb had shown her.

Sera started to calm down slightly, only to become aware that the feeling between her legs just became even stronger. Her thoughts immediately began spiralling again, telling her, she would enjoy the hug from her sister too much. That she was associating Emily with what she had seen in the Orb then.

She gasped, raising her head from her knees, her eyes, puffy as they were, were wide open.

"No ... by all that is holy, no!"

She muttered under her breath, causing Emily to hug her tighter, but Sera shook her head.

Not for her sister. Not for her sister! She mustn't feel that way for her sister. Sir Pentious and Vaggie and Charlie were bad enough already, worthy of the most severe punishments, but for her sister, her own flesh and blood.

"No, please ... don't ..."

She wailed, forcing Emily to ask her what was wrong once more, her voice cracking.

"I ... I can't ... I can't do this anymore ... I can't be what heaven needs me to be, I can't be what heaven requires me to be. Not after yesterday!"

She cried out loud, her body shaking, her nails digging into her knees.

Then, out of nowhere, clarity hit her. It was so sudden, so out of left field that she stopped sobbing altogether. Sera swallowed, her heart felt like it was squeezed by a vice and her lungs refused to take in air, but she finally knew what needed to be done.

Slowly, as if controlled by forces beyond her comprehension, she took her sister's hands and pulled her to her side, so she was able to look her in the face.

Emily's panic, her sorrow and fear were written all over her face.

For the first time in as long as they had been together on that plain of existence, Sera looked at Emily not as the angel that she was, but as the sister she loved, she loved her, more than anything, but there was now more than just the platonic love for a sister.

Oh by God, look at how beautiful she is ... even now, with all that sorrow on her face ...

She thought, brushing a strand of hair out of her face, unable to sop herself.

"What is wrong, Sera. Talk to me, please, by God, talk to me."

Plead Emily, begging her with her eyes.

"E ... E ... Emmy ... I ... I am lost ... When ... when sinners can be redeemed ... then ... winners need to be able to be banished ... right?"

Sera asked and Emily didn't understand, she looked at her slowly shaking her head.

"What are you ..."

She wanted to ask, but Sera cut her off, her voice hoarse and cracked, as she continued.

"A ... and ... angels ... we ... we are just like winners, aren't we?"

She stuttered and her sister wanted to argue, but Sera put a finger on her lips, not realising it being the same hand she had touched herself with.

"For ... forgive me Father, for I have sinned ..."

She imitated what the humans had said when confessing their sins.

"I am lost ... I need to be banished ... to the deepest hell ... like ... like Lucifer has been ..."

And then, everything went black.

...

..

.

Father ... Why have you forsaken me ... ?

Sera's Despair.

El_Poyo_Diabolo, WolfenStar

Summary:

Everyone has a breaking point, even an angel.

High Seraph Sera seeks to discover why she's been experiencing these weird and unfamiliar feelings as of late. She used this technique a thousand times before. What could possibly go wrong? How could this simple thing go wrong, right? Right?

Let's find out, in: Sera's despair

Work Text:
