Sleipnir Weapons and Tactics, Chapter 6
Another chapter for Kyra_Claymere:of their eight-legged centaur and her friends. As always it's a pleasure to work with them and continue this story.
Kyra, Paul, and Mira are loaded onto a truck taking them to a secure train depot. However, the trio of centaurs have other plans then spending the rest of their lives in a hidden facility in Montana.
It was early in the morning. The sun wasn’t up yet, but the eastern sky was just starting to lighten. Sitting on her rear deck, Karen Curtis sat bundled up on a chair. She had lit the propane fireplace for warmth and light as she watched through her binoculars.
Karen had spent the previous night celebrating with good food and maybe a bit too much wine. She had passed out in bed until the roar of diesel engines coming to life had roused her. She opted to keep drinking instead of sobering up. She bundled up in sweat pants and a long coat over her robe. A bottle of wine was her company as she watched the trucks start to leave what was left of the old farm. She giggled like a schoolgirl when she saw the centaurs being loaded into the back of a large truck.
“Wait, were there always three of those freaks?” Karen asked out loud to nobody. “Who cares, as long as they are all out of my neighborhood.” She put down the binoculars and drank wine straight from the bottle. I gotta keep my eye on that property, the second it goes on the market I need to put in an offer. Maybe I’ll keep the barn and turn it into a community center, I’d just paint it a better color than fucking red! She took another swig of wine as she continued to watch.
***
“So, this is our ride?” Kyra asked as she looked into the truck from the rear gate.
“We did what we could,” Agent Reyes turned to Mira, “You know we did.”
“I know, you can’t exactly shove the three of us in a van.” Mira said as she tossed a bag into the truck.
“I padded the walls and floors and rigged a pair of power banks back there, enough to run lights, a small space heater, fan, and that portable DVD player.” Jackson said as he pointed to the features.
“I didn’t know they still made those things.” Paul shook his head.”
Jackson shrugged. “They’re still floating around. I found this one at the auto parts store.”
“We also installed an intercom for the cab up front.” Reyes pointed it out. “You can let us know if there’s any trouble.”
“How long will we be stuck in here?” Kyra asked as she looked back over her shoulder at her home.
“It’s going to take us most of the day to reach a secure train depot.” Reyes answered.
“You’re taking the back roads then.” Mira said as she pawed the ground with her hoof.
“You know the procedure for transporting.” He answered softly.
“Yeah, I do. I can also tell you we’re going to need to make some pit stops along the way.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll need them too. We have several locations already mapped out.” Jackson reassured her.
“Might as well get this over with.” Kyra sighed before walking up the ramp with two heavy bags in her hands.
The ramp flexed slightly, but was able to handle her weight. Paul went next without any comment carrying a cooler full of drinks. Mira looked between her former partners.
“I know this is hard on you two. I'd hate to be in your shoes if it was one of you. I appreciate what you both did to make things as best you could.”
With that, Mira sighed and made her way up the ramp with her own bag. Once all three were inside the ramp was stowed and the door was shut and locked. Things were a little tight, but they were used to being close together at that point. They stood there quietly until they felt the truck start to move. Suddenly unsure about how smooth the road would be, they carefully lowered themselves onto the padded floor. Kyra was in the middle with Paul on her right and Mira on her left.
Not long after they settled down a huge bump rattled the entire truck.
“Hey, is everyone ok back there?” Jackson’s voice came over the intercom.
“We’re fine, but tell Reyes to keep his eyes on the road!” Mira called back.
“Heh, roger that.”
Mira pulled a movie out of her bag and started up the DVD player. She cranked the sound as loud as it could go before leaning in close to Kyra to whisper.
“I don’t want to be overheard, but If I disabled the intercom they may get suspicious.”
“Good thinking.” Paul said as he too leaned in close. “So what now?”
“Well, you heard them before we left. When transporting special cargo the procedure is to avoid interstates and major highways. That’s why it’s going to take all day to reach the depot even with this early start.”
“And we need to make a break for it before they load us on the train or it’s all over.” Kyra shifted her body slightly.
Mira nodded. “The train will take us directly into the ranch. It’s how the place is supplied and personnel moved in and out. Other than flying or hiking through the wilderness it’s the only way to reach the place.”
“I can understand all that, but why are they going to be giving us pit stops?” Paul asked.
“If we were just mindless beasts, they wouldn’t. We’d just be locked in cages the entire way to the Ranch or other places. But we are still people, so we get certain concessions. Also, there’s the fact we haven’t gone on any rampages or murder sprees.”
Paul shook his head. “So, because we are good little monsters we get special treatment?”
Mira shrugged “Pretty much. Also Reyes, Jackson, and the rest of the escort are going to need breaks for food and such too. They probably already have the rest stops already picked out. They will be isolated, places even locals wouldn’t just drive by casually.”
“So,” Paul scratched his head, “when they let us out to stretch our legs we just make a run for it?”
“My partners aren’t dumb, they are going to be keeping close tabs on us and anything suspicious is going to be noticed.”
Kyra was facing the tiny screen, but wasn’t really watching the movie. She had been thinking about things while Mira and Paul talked.
“How many stops do you think they will make?” Kyra asked as she reached for the cooler.
“For this long of a trip? I’d guess three.”
Kyra pulled out a bottle of water. “Ok, If it was me, I’d be the most cautious at the first and last stops. The first one I wouldn’t know what the prisoners would do, and the last one I’d be worried about a desperate last chance scenario.” She twisted open the cap and took a drink. “If we behave ourselves at the first stop they might let their guard down at the second.”
Paul nodded slightly. “What do you think, Mira?”
“It makes the most logical sense. I don’t think they are suspicious of us trying anything. We’ve been compliant with them so far. Not to mention, I know this is really fucking with my team. I’d feel the same way if I was hauling in one of them. They want to trust me. Honestly, I feel a little like I’m abusing that trust, but I can’t spend the rest of my life living isolated from the world.”
Kyra placed her hand on Mira’s upper back. “I know. It’s all a huge mess. I’m sorry you were dragged into it.”
“If it’s anyone’s fault it’s that stupid drunk driver. But you know what? I don’t regret it. I wouldn’t want my old body back. Not to mention, I enjoy being with you both.” She leaned in against Kyra. “I think the world is big enough for us, and maybe even a few more centaurs to live in.”
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.” Paul said as he placed his arm around Kyra.
Kyra smiled and held onto them both. She closed her eyes and quietly drew strength from them both.
***
They watched several movies, but they were just background noise to Kyra. In her mind she kept running scenarios again and again. Part of it was from her training with the SWAT team, but there was also a deep need to protect her small group. She had the feeling Paul was silently doing the same thing. Mira had passed out at some point and was softly snoring while curled up against Kyra.
The truck made a hard right turn and the road suddenly became very rough. Mira woke with a start as everything in the makeshift camper rattled.
“Sorry about the rough road, it’s not exactly paved.” Jackson said over the intercom, “But the good news is we’ll be stopping in just a bit so hold tight.”
“Warn us next time you go off road.” Mira called back
“Sorry, I’ll try to remember that if it comes up again.”
Kyra pulled them both close. “Remember, just act normal. We need them to let their guard down for when it matters.”
The other two centaurs nodded. The truck came to a stop and after several moments the engine stopped. They slowly got back up on their hooves and waited for the door to open. Kyra blinked as sunlight flooded into the back of the truck. She was the first to walk down the ramp and out into the open air. Looking around she saw they were on an old farm in the middle of nowhere. It looked dilapidated from years of abandonment. The late fall air was cool and crisp, but it felt refreshing after hours spent in the truck. Along with the truck there were a pair of SUVs parked in the open field. They were being watched by several agents as they moved around stretching out their legs.
“It kind of looks a little creepy, doesn’t it?” Paul said as he walked up beside her.
“Maybe a little, but at least a farm gives us plenty of space to move around in.”
“Yeah.”
Mira was about to join the other two centaurs when Reyes pulled her aside.
“How are you holding up?”
Mira shrugged. “Alright I guess. I finally got around to watching the Last Starfighter before I passed out. I’m feeling pretty hungry, but otherwise I think I’m ok.”
“When we were close to a town I had Simons swing by and pick up a bunch of pizzas. I figured you wouldn’t want Mexican food in a confined place.”
Mira laughed loudly. “No, definitely not. Thank you.”
“I wish I could do more.”
“Reyes, we all knew the job when we accepted it. It’s not just injury or death we have to worry about with our agency.” She placed a hand on his shoulder. “And I would hate it if I was the one driving the truck with you and Jackson in the back. I know you’re doing what you can for us, just like I know those little amenities in the back weren’t placed on the agency credit card.”
“To be fair, Jackson had been talking about getting a power bank for a while now.”
“Don’t change the subject. I would have done the same for you.” She gave his shoulder a squeeze
Reyes let out a long sigh. “The train isn’t leaving without you, so you can take your time eating lunch.”
“You’ll get chewed out if you’re too late, you know that.”
“I don’t really care.”
“After we finish our little pizza party, when will the next stop be?”
“There’s an abandoned campground about three hours north from here.”
“Are you going for horror movie cliches on purpose? Will the last one be a spooky Victorian mansion? Or maybe a closed amusement park?”
Reyes laughed, and he really needed it at that point.
“Actually, it’s a closed down shopping mall.” He chuckled.
“That’s almost as bad. Come on, let’s get some pizza before it gets cold.”
***
Kyra and Paul were standing by an old fence. Each one had a pizza box.
“What did you get?” Paul asked as he opened his box.
“Pepperoni, I was feeling the classic. How about you?”
“Green pepper and onion.”
“That’s good too. Want to trade a slice?”
“Sure.”
They exchanged slices and ate quietly. Kyra could hear the agent approaching them, but decided to ignore him. It was better if they didn’t realize how good their senses really were.
“Excuse me.” Jackson said once he was close.
“Mmm?” Kyra swallowed her last bite. “Yes?”
“I wanted to speak to you both.”
“What about?” Paul asked, keeping his tone carefully neutral.
“If officer Claymere had been properly contained, none of this would have happened. You,” he pointed to Paul, “and more importantly Agent Owen would still be humans. Things would be clean and simple.”
Kyra placed her half eaten slice of pizza back in her box. “I’ll remind you that I was cleared to not only remain in public but also to remain on the force after the incident. There was no contagion that anyone spotted at the time. If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have needed you to cart me off to the middle of nowhere, I would have done it myself.”
Kyra locked eyes with Jackson. The tension was thick, but it was the agent who ultimately cut it.
“Maybe you would have.” He started to turn away, but then stopped. “Just look out for her, please?”
“I promise you, I will.”
***
After some time to eat and stretch their legs, the centaurs got back into the truck. After the door was closed behind them Kyra turned on the space heater and fan.
“It got colder while we were out there.” She said as she warmed her hands. “And it’s going to only get colder as the day goes on.”
“A perfect night for camping, huh?” Mira smirked as she got comfortable.
The truck shifted into gear and started the bumpy trip back onto the main road. Mira started a new movie before leaning in to discuss their next move.
“I think that went well.” Mira said as she snuggled up against Kyra.
“Did you get any info from Reyes?” Paul asked as he did the same.
“Yeah. The next stop is going to be at an abandoned campground. The last one is planned for a defunct mall, so this one is definitely our best bet for escape.”
“Looks that way.” Kyra nodded.
“The cold weather might actually help us a bit.” Paul said after a moment. “We can use some horse blankets to help hide our gear when we get out, at least long enough to give us a chance to run.”
“Maybe.” Kyra rubbed her chin, “But we can’t count on it. We all need to be ready to run at a moment’s notice.”
“On that farm back there was the first chance I ever had to trot around.” Mira smiled as she thought back on it. “It was kind of fun. Though I have to wonder what it’s like for you with the extra legs.”
“I went from two to eight, so I can’t really say. It did feel good to really move around a bit back there. If we can pull off hiding our gear under the horse blankets we should limber up a bit first before we run.”
“Not to mention, we’ll need to have at least a direction to run towards. We want to head deep into the wild, not just pop right out on a highway.” Paul noted.
Mira nodded. “So we need a signal then, when it’s time to make a run for it, that way we can coordinate even if we’re not right next to each other."
“Good idea, although I do want to stay close together this time.” Kyra said as she pulled them close.
Mira sighed as she leaned in against Kyra. “I don’t think Reyes will pull me aside again, but I understand.”
***
“We’re pulling off the main road now,” Jackson’s voice came over the intercom, “we’ll be stopping in a few minutes.”
“Thanks for the heads up.” Mira replied.
“No problem. It’s gotten pretty cold out there, so you’re aware.”
“We broke out the blankets, we’ll be fine.” She answered.
The tight quarters of the truck made things a little difficult, but the three of them managed to get the gear they would need strapped down onto their bodies. They were just finishing getting the blankets over their lower bodies when the truck came to a stop.
“We’re here, I’ll be coming around to let you three out for a bit.” Jackson said before opening his door.
“We’ll be waiting.” Kyra said hoping she didn’t sound nervous. The doors squeaked as they swung on their hinges and they were met with a blast of cold air.
“Geeze, and it’s only going to be colder in Montana.” Kyra said before carefully descending the ramp.
“We’re going to need heavier coats.” Paul said as he followed.
“And thicker blankets.” Mira added.
Kyra slowly stretched out her eight legs before starting to move in a slow circle near the back of the van. The sun was getting low in the sky, but there was still some light left in the day. She inspected the campground while trying to appear casual. There were a few picnic tables and some old fire rings that she could see. Looking to the treeline she saw the forest was slowly starting to encroach back on the campground. She also saw an old overgrown trail cutting into the shadowy forest. She looked over to Paul and saw he was doing the same thing she was doing. Mira was keeping as much of an eye on Reyes and Jackson as the two agents were watching them. The other agents were watching but seemed more concerned with the group being spotted than what the Centaurs were really up to.
Kyra came to a stop near a picnic bench and pawed at the ground with her hoof. Paul and Mira stopped and glanced over her way. Kyra stuck her fingers into her mouth and blew an earsplitting whistle. At the signal all three centaurs took off running right down the path into the woods. It caught the agents off guard and it took Reyes' shouting to knock them out of it.
“After them! Go! Go!” he yelled as he took off after them down the trail.
Hooves pounded on the dirt trail as they ran deeper into the forest. At the first major bend in the trail they veered off and ran straight into the brush.
“They jumped the trail!”
“They’re too fast!”
“They went this way!”
The pursuing agents shouted. They had a good lead, but Kyra knew as soon as they stopped, they would catch up. She knew she had to do something to ensure they all got to safety.
“Keep running! I’ll catch up!” She shouted before veering off to her right.
“Kyra!” Paul shouted.
“You heard her, keep running!” Mira shouted back.”
Kyra had been matching the pace of the other two centaurs, but now she moved at her full eight-legged speed. Her eyes were sharp enough in the low light to dodge trees and shrubs as she looped back towards the pursuers. Her arms were tucked in tightly and her upper body leaned forward as she galloped. Her equine ears focused on the shouting of the agents and she made her move.
“I think I hear them getting closer!”
“There’s no way we caught up.”
“Wait, it’s not coming from up ahead!” He turned to his right just in time to be bowled over by Kyra.
She smashed into him like a truck, knocking him to the side and sending him flying into a tree. She stuck out an arm and clotheslined the next agent. The third one managed to get a shot off before she slammed into him. She lifted him up off the ground and wrenched the carbine out of his hands before throwing him back down onto the forest floor. He tumbled like he had been tossed from a moving car.
Kyra held onto the weapon and left the three agents behind, hurt but still breathing. She focused her ears on the sounds of heavy hooves pounding on the forest ground and ran as fast and hard as she could to catch up.
Paul’s ears flicked backwards as he heard the unique sound of Kyra’s eight-legged gallop quickly approaching. He slowed to a trot and Mira followed suit. Kyra pulled up between them both and slowed her speed. She was breathing hard and sweat was running down her face.
“What did you do?” Mira asked, the worry obvious in her voice.
“I just roughed them up a bit, knocked them over really, it’s going to take time for them to recover, giving us more time to put distance between us and leave less of a trail as we do it.
“Are you sure you didn’t hurt them?” She said, eyeing the souvenir slung over Kyra’s back.
“I didn’t trample them, but they’ll be feeling it tomorrow. Sorry.”
“We can talk about this later. We need to get good and deep in the wilderness before we can stop for the night.” Paul said before starting to pick up the pace once again.
Mira didn’t look happy, but followed his lead. Kyra easily kept pace, at least for now. Before long it was fully dark. They paused long enough to pull out some lights. Their eyes were good, but without a clear moon overhead they couldn’t run through a forest at night. The dim red lights were enough to keep them from running into trees. They ran through a freezing cold stream for a while to help break any scent trail they were leaving behind and further obscure their physical trail as well. They all had amazing endurance, especially Kyra but eventually they had to stop.
Kyra spotted a small space big enough for the three of them. They dropped the gear they had strapped on as soon as they could.
“God, I haven’t felt this tired since the academy.” Mira said as she flexed and stretched out her legs.”
“Tell me about it.” Paul chuckled a bit as he did the same.
“We need to set up the tarp as quickly as we can. It’s IR absorbent, so along with the branches overhead it should help to hide us from any aerial reconnaissance.”
“I’m surprised we haven’t heard any choppers yet.” Paul said, looking up into the canopy of leafless branches.
“The agency doesn’t have many air assets, so they are stingy with them. If they thought we were more of a flight risk, they would have had a chopper following the caravan. Since they didn't, they now have to reach out to local law enforcement or military and there will be some bureaucratic nonsense trying to get authorization and vetting the pilot for clearance.”
“Another reason to be well behaved before our escape.” Kyra said as she pulled a long coil of rope from a bag.
They worked quickly to rig a shelter for the evening and get themselves and their gear under it. They couldn’t risk a fire or using the portable stove, so instead they just dug into what could be eaten cold and raw to replace the calories they burnt on the run. Although the shelter blocked the worst of the cold breeze, it was far from warm. Kyra and Paul placed themselves on both sides of Mira and pressed against each other. The mare appreciated it, but she had other ideas on how to stay warm that evening.
“You know, it was brave what you did out there.” Mira said as she placed an arm around Kyra’s shoulders. “Maybe a little stupid but brave.”
“Heh” Kyra sighed as she pulled the last protein bar out of the box she was holding. “It had to be me. I was the only one fast and strong enough to make it work. I was lucky I didn’t get shot.”
“Very lucky. And I think you’re about to get lucky again.” Mira smiled widely.
“Oh really?”
“It’s a great way to stay warm, right Paul?”
“She’s not wrong.”
Kyra shook her head, but now that the idea was there, she couldn’t stop thinking about it. There was no guarantee things were going to work out for them.
I want to enjoy every second I can with my string, I don’t know if this is the only chance I’ll have. She thought as she quickly ate the protein bar.
Mira reached up and scratched at the base of her ear before pulling Kyra down into a long slow kiss. That was enough to make up Kyra’s mind. She wrapped her arms around the mare and eagerly returned the kiss. She soon felt Paul’s hands on her body as well, as he kissed her neck and shoulder. It was feeling a lot warmer under the tarp now, but they still kept their coats on their upper bodies. As tired as she was from the run, Kyra was feeling a second wind now as her cock slipped out of her sheath. She broke the kiss with Mira to share one with Paul. She then slowly pulled away, smiling softly.
“I’ll be wanting some of you in a bit, but first I’m going to take Mira for a ride.”
The mare giggled as she slowly turned around and lifted her tail up and to the side. Kyra’s head brushed against the tarp as she reared up and mounted Mira. They both let out long low moans as Kyra was enveloped by the mare. Kyra closed her eyes and forgot about the weight of the world for a moment as she hugged her partner with her front legs. All that mattered was the warm love and pleasure. She rode the mare long and hard, like she hadn’t spent the evening running for her freedom. She was in almost a trance like state, until Mira’s cries snapped her back into the present. The mare was writhing underneath her and crying out loudly as she was pushed to climax and beyond. Kyra felt the head of her cock flare as she slammed in for one final thrust before she emptied her heavy balls. See shuddered, but not from the cold as the sensation washed over her body.
“Wow, that was quite the show.” Paul chuckled as the pair caught their breath.
“Oh my god…I was starting to think you were never going to finish.” Mira panted.
“I just kind of got lost in the moment and wanted it to last.” She said, reaching down to caress Mira’s cheek.
“I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to last as long, especially after watching that.” Paul smiled and she could see he was ready to go.
“Hold your horses, I haven’t even dismounted yet.” Kyra smirked down at Paul.
Eventually with slow deliberate movements she dismounted from Mira and set all eight of her hooves on the ground once more. Paul was waiting, and pulled her into a deep and needy kiss. Mira joined him and soon the three were exchanging kisses in between the three of them again.
“I’ve got this end, Paul,” Mira said with a wink, “you go and take care of the other end.”
Paul chuckled and walked around to Kyra’s rear. With one hand he lifted her tail out of the way and with the other he started to stroke and caress her equine slit. Kyra had been expecting a mounting and a quick fuck, but she wasn’t about to complain. She held tightly onto Mira as Paul teased and licked her pussy. Without even thinking, she pushed her rear back into Paul’s face. She whimpered against Mira’s lips when she felt him pull away, but it wasn’t long before he was mounting her properly. She moaned into Mira’s mouth as the Mare gripped her tightly. Paul controlled himself, or at least as much as a centaur could. He pushed forward slowly instead of just slamming into the hilt.
By the time Paul bottomed out, Kyra already was hitting a mini-orgasam. Paul rocked his hips slowly but forcefully. He was, of course, enjoying himself, but he wanted to make Kyra’s night. All the while, Myra was holding and kissing her madly. Their tongues danced as Kyra moaned. She closed her eyes tightly, all that mattered in her world were Paul and Mira at that moment. When it finally hit, the pleasure cascaded through her body. Breaking the kiss Kyra threw back her head and let out a wild yell. Mira held her tightly while Paul rested on her back.
Even if it was just for a moment, everything was perfect in Kyra’s little world under the tarp.
***
They awoke early the next morning, all huddled against each other for warmth and comfort over night. The sky was gray, but it was light enough to see clearly. They ate in relative quiet, once again they didn’t risk a fire or the cooking stove. Kyra forced down a cup of black instant coffee made with cold water then reached for the GPS unit. They needed to know where they were before they could decide on a place to go.
“I didn’t even know they still made those.” Paul said as he watched the device power up and connect.
“If all you need is directions when driving a phone is fine, but for cross country with spotty, if any, cell reception, these are still the best.” Kyra said as she stared at the small screen.
“So, where are we exactly?” Myra asked as she repacked some supplies.
“Good and far away from anything. We’re miles away from even a state park. But I’m sure we’re not exactly safe.”
“I’ll guarantee that,” Mira said as she ripped the bag shut, “and out this deep they won’t be subtle in bringing us in.”
“I know, I know. But we’re not just going to stand still and wait to be found.” Kyra flipped open the burner phone and turned it on. She had gotten so used to waiting on a smart phone to start up she forgot how quickly a not-so-smart phone could power on. “Zero bars, but that’s what I expected. The closest town is about a hundred miles in that direction.” She pointed with her finger.
“I guess a heading is something at least. But once you have a signal, who are you going to call?” Paul asked as he inspected their one firearm.
“I have a few people to reach out to, people who owe me a few favors. In the meantime, we better get moving.”
