If the names of the chapters Don't make sense chances are It came from whatever song was listening to while I was writing.
After getting ready for the day Davis went downstairs to the bar. "You look like shit lad. Are you sure you're up for working today?" Joyce had asked, He was standing by the bar having a bite to eat. Being the owner and cook of Ironwood and also looking after Davis he didn't really have time to eat much during the day. "I'm ok Joyce. Just a bit tired is all but thanks anyways." Davis replied. "Well let me grab you some breakfast before we need to get to work." Joyce said to Davis finishing up his own meal. "No thank you Joyce I'm not hungry, but I appreciate the offer." Davis said back to the badger before he could move from his seat. Joyce sat there staring at Davis for a moment. "What's going on with you kid? Something's been up, you know you can tell me anything." Joyce said to Davis. Davis looked back at Joyce."I'm fine don't worry. I just didn't sleep much is all." Joyce continued to look at Davis. "Common lad I know you better than that. Something's up, and I'm worried about you." Joyce pressed Davis to tell him. Davis looked down then turned to face the bar. "I've started having visions again. Visions of my past, also I thought Someone was in my room last night but when I went to check no one was there. Am I going crazy? Is there something wrong with me?" Davis said still facing the bar looking away from Joyce almost like he was ashamed of himself.
Joyce wrapped his arm around Davis in a fatherly way. "You've had a difficult life lad. Maybe you just need a break, take a bit off and go visit her grave. Maybe it will help." Davis looked down at the bar counter. "But Joyce you can't manage the ironwood all by yourself. Who will bar tend if I go?" Joyce pats Davis on the back and chuckles. "Chrysaor owes me a favor so he can tend while you are away." Davis thought for a second on who Chrysaor was again. Chrysaor was a very masculine white Pegasus with short dirty blonde hair. He usually wore blue jeans a leather jacket and aviator sunglasses. Despite his attire he was very rich. Though at times he seemed full of himself he also seemed like a people person. Davis looked at Joyce. "How about I work today and then leave tomorrow. Does that sound ok Joyce?" Joyce thought for a moment. "I would prefer that you started working again once you have taken some time off lad, But if you want to work today before leaving I guess I can't stop you." Davis looked back at Joyce. "Thank you Joyce, for everything you do and have ever done for me. I don't think I would be alive today if it weren't for you." Joyce chuckled. "Now don't be getting all sentimental on me lad. You'll make this old Honey badger cry." Both Davis and Joyce laughed at the comment.
A few hours had passed by and Davis was behind the bar working as he always did. The day seemed to be going normal once again except for the fact that Claudette the beautiful green thunderbird who always sat at the end of the bar drooling over Davis, was sitting on the side of the bar Davis worked on. Davis thought nothing of it, the bar was busy. It was Saturday night the bar is always busy on Saturday maybe she did not want to sit in her usual seat because of another customer. "But wouldn't I have noticed that being the bartender and having to watch everything?" Davis said to himself in thought. "Excuse me Davis." Davis all of the sudden heard himself being called by Claudette. He shot a glance up to see the Green thunderbird in her usual low cut attire with her neon purple hair slightly swept to the side. "What can I get you?" Davis had replied to her. "Oh I'll just have my usual Davis." She said flirtatiously to Davis as she wiggled back and forth a bit to show off cleavage. "Alright." Davis replied then continued to turn around to make her drink. As he was mixing her usual Sex on the beach cocktail he saw in the mirror above his mixing mat that Claudette was intently staring at his tail end. Davis quickly finished mixing up her drink and in an attempt to catch her swiftly turned around. She was sneaky he would give her that, by the time he was around she was looking at his face. "One sex on the beach for you." Davis handed her the cocktail, Claudette took the drink but before drinking it started to speak to Davis. "Are you ok from last night? You got hit pretty hard I was worried about you." Davis continuing to work replied to her. "Yes I am fine Claudette thank you for asking." She almost immediately clammed up, Davis knew he shouldn't have said her name she did not know he knew her name and that would surely make her more intent at pursuing his interests. "Y..You know my name?" She had asked. "Well yes, it's my job as bartender to know the names of regular customers." He replied to her. She instantly eased up and returned to her flirtatious demeanor towards him. "So what happens if I change my order up tomorrow to confuse you?" She asked with a hint of anticipation to her voice. Davis paused for a second. "Oh I'm going to be gone for a little while. Someone else will take my place in the time I'm gone." She seemed stonewalled by what he has just said to her almost as if he had slapped her with something she never expected. "But where are you going?" Claudette had asked suddenly seeming shocked and bewildered. "Just a small vacation." Davis had replied withholding the details from her. Claudette remained fairly silent for the rest of the night clearly in some form of shock from the news. Davis had finished up his shift and went up to his room. Packing very lightly for his trip Davis got everything ready and then settled down into bed to rest before his leave in the morning.
"Wait hang in there I can get us out!" Davis shouted to the Female fox. Both of them trapped in the burning building. The beautiful blonde fox seemed to pass out due to the smoke. Davis covered her in his long black trench coat and picked her up to shield her from the fire. He had ran toward one of the outer walls of the small building, bounding over every obstacle and carefully protecting the female he was carrying in his arms. He aimed to escape through a hole in the wall of the building. Just as he reached the hole everything went dark. Davis then shot up out of bed, he was dreaming. "Another vision?" He asked himself. Davis glanced over at the clock. it was now 06:15 hours. He got out of bed and prepared himself for the journey he was about to make.
