One lie is all it took (2)
Part 2 of one lie is all it took.
Away from the creature? But is phase out of danger?
"What is this?" I asked myself confused. A dark figure appeared, the shadow casting darkness over it. "W-what did you do to me? T-that s-shadow, I-is it here?" I stuttered. The figure took a few steps closer and I braced myself.
"Relax, I'm a friend." The figure stepped forward to reveal the kind face of a woman I had yet to meet. She had long brown hair, kind blue eyes and a kind, welcoming smile "I found you passed out in the sand a few days ago. You'd better be more careful about what you do here, you could've died and nobody would have known." So they had set me free?
"Wh-" is all I could get out before she cut me off.
"Save it. I'm curious as to where you came from and how you get into that condition but I have more to worry about." She looked away for a moment rubbed her eyes, then looked back.
"What could you possibly have to worry about that's even remotely more interesting then me?" She looked at me and smiled.
"Ah I see your the kinda person who likes to joke around a lot aren't you?" Her smile was growing and I soon realized that so was mine.
"Oh, I do hope that won't be a problem, miss, um miss."
"Ada, ada summers." She said reaching a hand out.
"I'm phase shir." I winced in pain when I tried to move my arm.
"I guess I should've told you how bad it was first. Your not going to be moving much for a few days mr.shir." She said it all profound, she doesn't know me. I'm going to get out of here.
"Please, call me phase." As I said it she turned away and rubbed her eyes again. "Are you ok miss?" She turned back confused.
"Oh no I'm fine, it's just i think I'm experiencing a Mirage or some sort of hallucination. You'll think this sounds crazy but I think you look like and animal. You've even got a tail!" Shes not totally wrong. I do look like an animal and I do have a tail but I am not a hallucination.
"Now see tha-" she gave me a stern look.
"That's enough, you have too much to worry about right now without having to worry about me. Just try to get some rest."
"No, you don't understand. You see the thing is tha-"
"No, you don't understand. Phase, I want you to rest so not another word. We can get better acquainted after you sleep soundly." The door slammed shut as she left the room.
"Okay so now what? I'm stuck here, where ever here is. I've no idea who this lady is. Captured twice in a row, just my luck." A knock came at the door.
"You're supposed to be sleeping. I'm curious too you know. You just told me you've been captured. That's a lot more interesting then my story. Just please know I'm not going to hurt you, if I was going to do that then why would I take you back to my home." She spoke in a kind motherly way. "You can leave once you're back to full health." He footsteps trailed off down the hall.
The room I was in looked like a normal bedroom, possibly a guest room. It had a large wooden dresser in one corner. The bed I was in had a checker print on the quilt and a window on the wall just above my head. There was a double door that opened outward that would probably be a closet. The walls had a light blue paint on them with a few scratches on them. The room had definitely been lived in before. I lay still worrying of what was to come. I didn't truly feel out of danger yet. Nothing eventful happened in the next hour and sleep had taken its hold on me.
I felt adrift, in a never ending pool of my own thoughts. Past memories where showing up in the water. My first birthday, my mother say across the table from me as I ate the cupcake as quickly as possible, before my father found out. My mother was the reason I'm the fox I am today. She had always been there and she had given me hope for the next day. Her smile had never failed to brighten up any day, well almost never failed. I couldn't forget her final smile, she died and I still can't forgive myself for it but it took her death for me to kill my first victim. The first criminal to be killed by yours truly was a brown haired man, he had cold blue eyes. He had an uneven tan being darker at his head. His face I truly could never forget, no matter how hard I try. The blue eyes haunted me every time I look in the mirror, they did always tell me I had my fathers eyes. He never did like me. Said I was a mistake. Just like my grandfather, he had also been part fox, my mother was so glad when I turned out like he did. It had skipped her but returned with me. This so called gift I was give, later turned to be a curse. My father didn't not approve. He had beaten me ever since I could walk. I thought it was normal, I never talked back, I always stayed in line, I hadn't made any friends. I didn't even know anyone my own age (Thank god my mother homeschooled me). That's how he wanted it. He never wanted me to be happy and that's how it happened.
Anyway, my first birthday. Also know as the first day I watched my mother get beaten. She had lit the candle and was singing to me quickly. As I blew out the candle and made my wish the front door flew open.
"Mary! Where's that little brat of ours, I had a bad day and I need to take my anger out on something that doesn't feel pain." She looked shocked as he said that.

Side note
Don't beat animals it's wrong, they do feel pain.

"You don't have the right to beat our own son!" She screamed. "He's a living breathing creature that we created! Please have mercy on the poor thing." As soon as she said it she regretted her words. He quickly strode up to her and threw her to the ground.
He quickly turned to me and said. "Stay there, you'll get yours in a minute." As he began to beat her my hand found there way to cover my eyes but even with my eyes covered I still saw the horrible expression as my father whipped my mother over and over. Then it was my turn to give that same scream as he did the same to me.
A pattern like that continued for the next 13 years. Neither my mother nor I would dare call the police in fear that we wouldn't be able to provide for ourselves. A woman who doesn't even have a high school education and a boy that wasn't even fully human. Everything changed though, on the day I started high school.
Suddenly I felt the pool of thought being drained. My world was turning. I practically jumped three feet in the air when I woke up.
"Knock knock." The woman cut off my thoughts. "Are you..." Her voice trailed off as she came closer to me and sat down. Wiping my face. "Why are you crying?" She asked in a gentle motherly tone she had used before.
"I'm not cry..." I stopped when I felt the tears on my face. "Only a little."
"You didn't answer me, why are you crying?" She asked in a more demanding tone.
"Sorry I was thinking about somethings that had happened in the past. It's a long story."
"You don't look like you're going anywhere so start at the beginning." I proceeded to tell her my dream or I guess nightmare would be a better word. She asked a few questions here and there involving me not being some sort of illusion.
"So you're real." She said in awe
"Yes."
"Then that's some past you got."
"Trust me, just wait until I tell you about my first day at high school."
"What happened at your high school?"
"Well it started off like this, you see..."

Me: dude. That's harsh. I think it matters.
Phase: well DUDE, it shouldn't be up to you on what parts of MY past we talk about, okay?
Me: I'm sorry I didn't think about that, I can delete this if you want me to.

Me: at least I can walk right now.
Phase: that- that was a low blow. You apologize or... Or I'm tell everyone your secrets.
