Alcatraz ch.1
I've heard a lot of things about Alcatraz, its 300+ concrete cells
its 1,000+ inmates, and the silence, oh god the silence I heard it could drive a man mad
I never would 'a thought I'da been kept on the "the rock".
May 09,1952:
Yesterday, the judge looked right at me and said boy your goin' t'a Alcatraz.
I couldn't believe my ears, me in Alcatraz oh god...
we boarded the boat at 10:00 it took six hours!, six hours! to get there.
"Alright, you pieces of groundhog shit, welcome to Alcatraz Island" a guard wailed
Being led inside Alcatraz was like walking into hell itself.
Inside is wall to wall concrete from floor to ceiling.
in our respective blocks we all stood facing a main guard
"Alright here's the deal, this prison has 336 cells and there are 586 of you and guess what?
you don't get to choose your cell mate, haha!"
I stood there furious.
Another guard spoke "You, each have exactly eight hours to do whatever the hell it is that
you do, sunup at 6:30,lights out at 9:30 do I make myself clear!"
"Yes Sir!" we all shout in unison "Good."
at 9:30 its lights out the loud thunder of "Rack e'm" and steel cell doors can be heard...
