Terveta-Chapter 1: Warning (Part 3)
As the very capital of the nation, the metropolis was one of the bigger cities that the country held. A week ago there had been a severe attack by the hostiles on the city and a portion of the city wall had been knocked down, along with the slaughter of over two hundred innocents. The president sent a messenger to the Terveta leader for a request of assistance. After the explanation of what happened, the group was deployed at a steep price to the ruler. The capital building was easy to spot. Adorned with the national flag and several guards of various types, the five walked right up to the steps, but were stopped by two soldiers.
"This is starting to get old," Vace whispered to Bree in front of him. He was a white wolf, the tallest and most physically built in the group. He was also the Gamma.
"Can we help you, gentlemen?" one of the guards started. The facemask that hung from his helmet covered the top half of his head and was too dark to see any facial features.
"We're here to see your ruler, if you don't mind," Blizzard said balling both paws into fists as he eyed the weapons the guards held. They were four-barreled rifles, twice as strong as the ones the guards outside the city had.
The two exchanged looks and then the other spoke. "Forgive us, but we can't just let anyone that wants to see our president go through those doors. I'm afraid you'll have to leave."
Blizzard frowned and closed his eyes, the feeling of irritation starting to flow through him. "Look, I'm not having the best of days right now. We're the ordered Terveta," he said slowly, making each word as clear as he could.
The guards smirked at each other, mocking the alpha before the first spoke again. "If we had a pinch of gold every time we heard that one-"
"You'd have one pinch, now let me through before I have to hurt you two," The husky was growling now, the full body armor suit seemed like a shell that he was going to rip out of. The two stared at him with amused looks before they broke into laughter. Blizzard ground his teeth together when he snapped. "Fine then, you asked for it."
He stepped right up to the guards and unclenched his fists, pulling them up in front before pressing his palms hard against each of their chests. There was a sound like boulders clashing and the sight of the two being thrown backwards. They both slammed into the concrete steps with defining force, their own form of body armor, though not as durable or tough as the Terveta's, buffered the impact. They lay there, unconscious but not dead. He didn't funnel that much kinetic reverbing force into his paws; the intention wasn't to kill.
Seeing what was going on, several other guards began to mobilize at a higher level on the stairs, loading their weapons, and bracing them against their shoulders to fire.
"They just don't learn do they?" Bree growled while the five quickly fanned out further.
Electricity began to jump from between Blizzard's uplifted paws in bright thick golden arches.
"I guess not," he grunted and aimed them up at two guards right in front of him on the highest step. The electric bolts halted their leaps from his appendages and instead fired forward, hitting the two, square in the stomach, and tossing them backwards. Sparks of electricity jumped around on their bodies, stopping moments later. The Delta of the group swiped her paw in front of her from side to side just as six guards chambered a round of bullets.
Heat flared inside the ammunition, igniting the gunpowder and making them explode before they got a chance to fire. Blizzard whipped his paws out again at the two, striking and stunning them with a bolt of lightning. Bree struck four of the guards with a shockwave that was spread out over a great area and hurled them off the side of the steps. There was calm then, no more rushing to put up a front against the warriors.
Calmly the five began to walk up the steps like before, this time uninterrupted, but there was one other that would try his hand at killing the Terveta. He peered through a long scope that sat idly on top of a ground mounted railgun set high up on the building, overlooking the whole fight as it played out. A single round was loaded and locked into place. The barrel aimed down for the Alpha's head while that bullet was just about to be pushed into the magnetic rails.
