#1 of Full Moon Series: Lunar Soul

So, between my new job and all, I know I've been slacking on stories. I've been rereading a lot of old favorites here on Sofurry at the new job though since there's no cellphone policy, and suddenly, a spark of inspiration has hit me to start up this. I'm also going to start hitting back onto PMD, and a reboot of Master of Aura is kind of rattling around in my brain. I work 4 days out of the week with 10 hour shifts now which gives me three whole days off to try and work a little at a time on them all.

I consider this a reboot of a story I did in high school that went by near the same title. Back when I wrote it, I hadn't really found my sexuality yet, though it was dawning on me, and it was a straight story, with only very minor hints of homoerotic things placed in it from that dawning lol. It was also incredibly misworded and at one point, my computer had a fatal error and wiped all the progress through my third book and I lost the motivation to continue. This was before I found furdom and Sofurry so I didn't post it anywhere online. Recently though, my grandmother of all people found -paper- copies of it stuffed in her files and put it in a binder for me. Rereading my first ever story was a slap in the face and made me realize how much I've actually improved lol. Now though, with the stuff I've been through since then I think I can make it even better.

P.S. It's just now that I remember I did post it online at Deviantart, but the amount the site has changed deters me from going to it and I don't remember my username or pass to it as it was before Liki came to be. I think I'd rather do a reboot anyway.

Enjoy this little intro to my first, (Though altered) imagined world!

Lunar Soul

Prologue.

The light of the full moon was as blinding as the sun.

At least, that's what Luran thought as he stared up at the silver circle in the night sky, the moon reflected in his green eyes. He stood on the edges of a rocky precipice, his arms hanging down between his legs, long and furry with clawed, fingered paws. A heavy bush of fur on the back of his neck went halfway down his back as well before the rest of his white fur smoothed out over the rest of his body, but still fairly thick as the chill of fall was looming over the forest below making his winter fur begin to grow.

The werewolf was slouched slightly in a stance the physicality of being a werewolf gave him, legs bent in a digitigrade stance with large footpaws shaped more like the part of his feral wolf cousins. The obvious sign of his gender was bared between his legs. A thick sheath with a pair of orbs nestled just under it. Noticeable muscle lined his body, showing the power under the fur, a four pack on his stomach, but otherwise, his body gave the idea of someone that focused more on speed and quickness than strength. His muzzle was long, smooth, clean, and without a single sign of wrinkle or scuff.

Wearing nothing but his fur, it rustled in the chilly fall breeze of mid October as tree leaves flew through the air as well. As the leaves passed through his vision, Luran took a deep breath of the chilly night air with his black nose at the end of his muzzle and on the wind he smelled a familiar scent. His eyes closed as he exhaled, his breath showing in the chill of the air.

"You have something to add?" Luran asked without looking behind himself at the werewolf that walked out from the forest behind him, his voice smooth with a kind of wispy nature to it. "Urie?"

"I have...worries..." Urie said in a much rougher sounding voice. The brown furred and golden eyed werewolf stared up at the back of his Alpha while he climbed up the rocks, stopping just a few stones behind the white lycanthrope. The other male was more built than the first, a six pack on his middle and muscles bulging out under his fur over his body. Like Luran, he wore nothing but his fur, exposed to the world. Clothing was not something they ever had to worry about.

"You've basically told them all that we're going to die..." Urie said with a hint of worry.

Luran sighed, closing his eyes again before turning around to his friend, his beta. "My dream showed me that our time of being unknown is over...it is time to enter the world again."

"They will hunt us down." Urie persisted.

"Perhaps. The other part of my dream also remains."

"Right, and where are we going to find this specific fur? He could be anywhere in the world." Urie snorted.

Luran began to step his way down the rocks, his friend turning to follow beside him. "I have hints and ideas from my dream on where he may be, and who they are as well."

"Where? Who?"

"We have enough time to get where we need to be if we leave tomorrow...as for who, I know only that they are going to something called a 'college' in someplace to the east."

They entered into the woods of the forest, the trees marked by claws to show the way and a path trodden through the grass from many years of use by the Pack.

"You're asking them to leave their home, ya know?"

Luran sighed, "I was born here as well Urie...I know what they are feeling. I won't make those that don't want to follow do so, they can stay here if they wish, I've already said as much." He shook his head. "But they know what may happen if they do."

Luran and Urie had both been born werewolves to separate parents, while it was possible to be 'infected' and turn into a werewolf through the bite of one, there had been no non werewolf turned in centuries. They had grown up together, trained together, and played together since being pups. Luran had been born with red eyes, but when they turned green on his twelve year, signaling him out as a future Alpha, he had been dragged away by the Pack elders. Scared and unaware of what his change in eye color meant, Luran feared he was going to be killed for the strange mutation, shouting out to his friend who had been restrained, not allowed to follow.

Urie nodded. "I'll try to talk to them. They are very skittish though, I don't know how many will follow. Of course, I will follow you to my death."

For two years, Luran was taken through the spiritual journey that allowed him to see the future through his new eyes by looking at the full moon. With this he was also given the ability to have the same visions but randomly through his dreams in his sleep. It was claimed that this ability and visions came from the creator of werewolves, Lumaria, passed down through blood and only awakening when needed. When there was no Alpha, the elders made the most important decisions, but when one existed he or she had the final word. He returned to the Pack calm, wise beyond his years and serene, a true Alpha like those before him to lead the Pack, the first in the last fifty years.

"As many as are willing my friend." Luran nodded as well. "I suspect not many will be willing to leave their families, but I know I'll have my Guardian with me." He added with a smile and looked to the side at his companion.

Urie, demanding answers after being restrained, was told that Luran's sudden eye color change was a sign he was meant to lead the Pack, to be the next Alpha. As such, the Alpha would need a Guardian, a pack member designated to always be at their side and give council and protection for as long as the Alpha lived and to die for them if necessary. The brown lycanthrope leaped at the chance, and was taken through his own two year training. It built his body into the fortress it was now, with the combat skill needed to beat back anything that may threaten his Alpha.

"In an unknown world, it will be good to have you at my side." Luran continued and Urie rolled his eyes, and the white werewolf followed up with, "Or under me."

Luran continued to walk as the brown werewolf stopped in midstep for a second before realizing what his Alpha was saying and stuttered. "Oh come on. you had to say that now? What happened to only spouting the wise stuff?"

The so 'wise' werewolf chuckled and rolled his own eyes, "I'm still me Urie, just slightly off the rail sometimes. Though I know you like it when I rail you." He grinned, turning his head to the side as the other male caught up beside him again and he licked at his cheek.

Urie tilted his head back with a grunt to avoid the full contact of the lick, but his body betrayed him by the slight pink showing from his sheath at being teased.

It wasn't allowed for the Alpha to produce a child, but before his eyes had turned, it had been known that Urie and Luran had been with each other, sharing the experience of puberty side by side. If things had been different they would probably have become mates. Same sex pairings weren't frowned upon by the others. However, only a Guardian was now allowed at Luran's side, which was why Urie had insisted on becoming it. While neither could publicly call the other their mate the Pack was accepting of what was made between the two of them as it wasn't like one of them could get pregnant.

"It was why I jumped at the chance to be your Guardian." Urie returned as he lowered his head and grinned.

"Else you'd never feel my bone again?" Luran continued his teasing as he wagged his tail.

Suddenly Urie reached over and his paw gave Luran's balls and sheath a firm squeeze and he growled, making the slightly smaller werewolf shiver and freeze in place, "Whenever we get where ever it is we're going, I'm gonna make sure you feel sore for days."

Barely able to focus over the rush of blood going from his brain to his groin, Luran managed to say, "Really? I'd think after something like that you'd be the one that'll be sore."

Urie released his lover's groin and growled playfully as he kept walking, waving his paw over his shoulder, "You think huh? You're gonna feel like you're gonna pop cause I ain't letting you get any until we do get there."

Suddenly his mate's meaning hit Luran. No sex until they got there? He whined and folded his ears back, already feeling his balls ache at the thought of no release for several weeks. Once he did get it, they'd only ache all the more.

As they both returned into the main camp of the Pack though, his thoughts couldn't help but return to his dream and the silver furred individual he had seen with the same green eyes as his own who also had glimpses of the future when looking at the moon. Another Alpha who wasn't a werewolf, but a normal wolf fur, and in his dream, he had gone by the name of Silver.
