This is the very first story that I ever imagined. Though I originally did not intend to share it I was encouraged by some friends to type it up and post it. I do hope you all enjoy this, and I plan to make more installments in the future, as this is not nearly the entire story I have in my mind.

To begin this story of despair, love, and woe, we must travel back to the past to see how it all began. Andrew, a white cat with emerald ear-, toe-, and fingertips, was living in Pallet Town. He lived alone with his mother, but she was human. It was presumed by many around the area that the father was a Pokemon of some sort, and as such both Andrew and his mother were shunned. Growing up like this, Andrew was almost always alone. And when he wasn't alone, he was being picked on.

Though while playing in the forest one day, Andrew, at the young age of 5, came across an abandoned egg. Curious, he picked it up and looked around for some sort of nest or parent Pokemon, but he could not find any sign of them. Having a very large heart, he brought the egg back home with him. Upon entering the house, the egg began to crack and glow, and soon enough a Riolu was revealed.

Riolu was frightened of course. Instead of a mother or father lucario, he saw only this small catboy. But Andrew and his mother managed to calm down the poor Riolu, and he stayed with the two from then on.

Jump forward five years to when Andrew turned 10. Now that he was finally allowed to handle Pokemon and Pokeballs himself, he was given the ball for Riolu from his mother. Throughout all of these years Riolu was Andrew's closest and only friend. But Andrew didn't care, because Riolu was the only friend he needed. However, Andrew did not go out on a journey like most of the kids his age did. He was more than happy to stay in Pallet Town with his Riolu and mother.

Jump ahead another few years, and now we have a 16 year old Andrew. Riolu had long since evolved into Lucario, and he was always Andrew's protector from the bullies of the town. Though something that he could not protect Andrew from was his Mother's passing. It was so unexpected, a rare sickness they were told. Andrew wept for days, and if not for Lucario he may have stayed that way. But Lucario comforted him through it all, and he was eventually able to return to his optimistic self.

And now we arrive at the present day. Andrew is 18 now, and he had been going out with a human boy, Michael, from the town for a year to the day. The most popular boy in town no less. At first he was suspicious, but he now trusted Michael fully and completely. Andrew was currently at home, getting very nicely dressed. Michael said that he had very special plans for the anniversary, and he wanted Andrew to look stunning. Lucario walked up then to Andrew's room, smiling as he saw his friend so excited. He entered the room, giving Andrew a small shoulder rub. Because of the deep connection, the two could speak without any words, though Lucario's can talk to anyone through aura. "Today is the big day Andrew. I know how excited you are for this. Are you ready?"

Andrew let out a shaky sigh and nodded. "Yes Lucario, I think I am ready for this. I just can't believe it. Years of scorn, and now I've been dating Michael for a year." He smiles into his mirror before turning back to Lucario and hugging him tightly. With a shared smile, Andrew left the house and Lucario stayed upstairs.

Lucario was a bit sad of course. He had been deeply in love with Andrew for a few years now, but he never dared to say a word because he didn't want Andrew being teased anymore than he already had been. But now, Andrew was happy, and that was all Lucario cared about. A few hours passed by, and he thought Andrew would be arriving home soon. What he did not expect was the main door of the house opening and then slamming shut. Using his aura sight, he spotted Andrew in the kitchen with a deep blue aura, a sign of deep sadness and despair.

He immediately jumped up and ran downstairs to the kitchen. What he saw when he got there was Andrew holding a knife to his wrist, just about to make a fatal incision. With a yell of fright and lightning reflexes, Lucario grabbed Andrew's wrists and pinned him to the counter. Getting a better look, he realized that Andrew was soaking wet all over, and he was crying just as hard as the day his mother had died. "Andrew, what in the name of Arceus happened?! Why... Why would you try to do that?!"

Andrew looked away, still crying hard as he spoke, though the blubbering was hard to understand. "I-it w-was a t-trick the wh-whole time! H-he never l-loved me! Th-the moment I-I arrived I w-was ambushed by h-his friends! Th-they pushed me into th-the lake! I-I couldn't get out! I-I am so sick of e-everything! No one wants me! J-just... Just let me end it Lucario... You can go to a person who can... Who can be a good trainer, and give you everything you want..." Towards the end he seemed to defeated to speak further, but he was still struggling and trying to get the knife to his wrist.

Lucario was easily winning the battle of strength though. "Andrew, don't do this! I don't want anyone else! You are my best friend, please!" Andrew still struggles, the words falling upon deaf ears. "Let me go! No one loves me! No one ever has or ever will! Now let m-" his words are suddenly cut short as the one thing he never expected suddenly happened. Lucario had pressed their lips together, and Andrew finally had his first kiss with his best friend. His struggles slowed the longer the kiss went on, until he was still and had dropped the knife. It was only at this point that Lucario broke the kiss, pulling Andrew back to a standing position and hugging him tightly.

"I love you Andrew... I have for so long and I refuse to hide it anymore. You are the only one for me Andrew, and seeing you suffer for so long has broken my heart. You won't suffer anymore, I won't let you. I will protect you from those who wish you harm, and I will prove to you that love is real. Do you trust me Andrew, as I do you?" Andrew was stunned, his body frozen as he leaned against Lucario, his nose pressed gently into Lucario's neck fur. He breathed in the scent of his friend deeply, allowing it to finally relax him as it had so often in the past. Tears still filled his eyes, but they had gone from tears of despair to tears of hope, tears of joy. He then pulled back a little, looking Lucario right in the eyes. He then leaned in, pressing their lips together once again as if in response to Lucario's question. This pure, gentle kiss lasted for what seemed an eternity to the two of them, though in reality it was only a minute.

Upon breaking the kiss, Andrew finally smiled. "I do Lucario... I have always trusted you... and I... I think I have always loved you too..." Lucario smiled gently, pulling Andrew into another hug as he rubbed the small cat's back. "I won't ever leave your side Andrew. I will be with you for all of time." Andrew let out a soft purr, leaning his head against Lucario's shoulder. Lucario then picked Andrew up, taking him upstairs. He lied his new lover gently on the bed, climbing in beside him. After another gentle kiss, the two fall asleep in each other's arms, both dreaming of a wonderful future together.
