Zootopia's Slothful Savior
A commission featuring characters from Zootopia and head transformation.
The convention hall was strangely quiet; quiet enough that Judy Hopps's soft footsteps could be heard. She looked down at her invitation and then up at the high ceilings. The convention hall, and the whole building, had an antiquated look to it. The soft carpets felt good to walk on.
"Ok, now... where is everyone?" asked the young rabbit. She was dressed in her police uniform, but she had her officer cap for the special ceremony.
Judy checked the invitation again. The card said Hall E-2 which was the hall she was in, so maybe it was a matter of getting the date wrong? She checked her phone, the date on her phone matched the invitation. There were no inconsistencies, but Judy had a feeling something was going on. She made her way out the door.
The ceremony was for Judy and the rest of the Zootopia Police Department for solving the savage crisis. After the cause was discovered, a kind of flower that could be refined to induce intelligence reducing effects, a cure was quickly developed and before long the possessed citizens of Zootopia were made right again. Afterwards savage incidents completely disappeared and any more clues on which party was behind it had not turned up.
Just as Judy reached the door, a voice called out to her, "Officer Hopps!"
Judy turned around. It was Assistant Mayor Bellwether, the bespeckled sheep lady measuring the same height as Judy (not including Judy's ears). She was wearing her faculty uniform like always. She walked with tiny dainty steps and she had a graceful smile on her face.
"Oh hello, Ms. Bellwether," said Judy, "Is it just me or is this celebration ceremony looking invisible?"
Bellwether chuckled, "Oh, Officer Hopps... You're right where you need to be." Bellwether took a glance at the camera in her left hand, "We're filming a special presentation here!"
Judy gave a confused look, "We are?"
Bellwether's camera had a cable going out the back of it off into the door Bellwether came from. It went out and around the corner to a place Judy could not see. It was pretty long. What was it for? She had no idea. The whole thing was unorthodox.
"If there was going to be some special introduction," said Judy, "I think I would have been told before the ceremony."
With her right hand she reached behind her back and pulled out a dart gun. Bellwether grinned sinisterly. Before Judy noticed, Bellwether fired. Judy's reflexes were sharp but not sharp enough. Bellwether, against the guidelines of the guns, fired three times in succession. Two of the darts hit Judy.
Judy screamed and fell to the floor. In a panic, she looked at the darts wasting no time to rip them out. Bellwether had done what she needed to, however unknowingly to her the rate in which she emptied the dart gun's clip cause one dart to crack and spray the blue liquid onto her hand.
Judy looked at the darts, "What did you do to me? Is that the nighthowler formula?"
Bellwether laughed, "No no no, Judy. This is something we cooked up in a genetics lab. It's effects will begin shortly."
Judy wasn't sure of what would happen, and thought about how to prepare going savage. There wasn't much to do. For all she knew the effects would be temporary, but Bellwether said it wasn't the savage formula, so what then?
Judy's head started to feel weird. She clenched her cheeks and could feel her flesh shifting and growing. Her teeth were shifting too, her incisors growing smaller. Was it some sort of psychotropic drug? She had no idea. Her mind felt weird too. It's like a thousand thoughts were screaming out to her before they disappeared into nothingness.
Not a few hundred meters away was the ceremony. Thousands of Zootopia's citizens were seated in the hall, waiting for the presentation to start. There was an impatient commotion as there was a big screen on the backwall but the footage hadn't started yet. The production team behind the curtain were given specific orders to just wait. The video feed would come in shortly.
Bellwether turned the camera on. The footage went live in the auditorium where the ceremony was. Everyone watched.
Judy got back on her feet but was overwhelmed by the feelings of her head and mind shifting. The fur around her eyes going back down around her head was darkening. Her face was shifting out as was her neck was extending and pushing forward. Her ears were shrinking, slowly regressing back into her head while the space between them widened.
She could feel her mind shrinking. She knew she was going savage, "No, I've got to fight it!"
Her mind was letting go off her memories and intelligence, but Judy did her best to hold on. As she stumbled around, she concentrated on her most complicated skills and knowledge, like how to fight and handling technical equipment. But it was _too_hard. Her mind couldn't comprehend all those steps to work a dart gun autoloader.
The rest of Judy's body was normal. She still had her rabbit hands and feet, but her head was shifting. Her muzzle's contours softened out and her pink nose turned dark and widened all over her face.
Bellwether walked closer, keeping the camera on Judy, "I was trying to fix this society and you uppity race traitors had to get in my way!"
The auditorium watched in horror as Judy collapsed on the ground, her hat falling off. They knew who she was but her face had become unrecognizable. The contrasting pattern of white and dark fur meant she was turning into a sloth. It was almost nauseating watching this woman transform.
Her expression was horrified, "I'm... Judy! Jooo-deee!"
Bellwether turned the camera on herself. Her smiling face was broadcast in full at the ceremony, "And this is what happens when you get in my way!"
She turned the camera back to Judy. In a quick moment, the agony on Judy's face softened into idly serenity. The intelligence in her eyes had vanished. She skulked around curious about the world around her. The paintings on the wall caught her attention.
While she looked up at the paintings, a crackling sound came up from under her tail. There was a little bit of movement on her jeans, and a tiny bulge. The smell was strong though and it wasn't long before it hit Bellwether's nose.
She gagged and then laughed, "Uh-oh! A little sloth was too slow to make it to the bathroom!"
Bellwether kept the camera on Judy. She walked up while Judy was walking alongside the wall, looking at painting after painting, and Bellwether touched the back of Judy's pants, "This is the savior of Zootopia? Pathetic!"
Back at the auditorium, the police force scrambled to locate Judy and Bellwether. It looked like the ceremony hall in the footage but they couldn't tell where. The captain sent the officers to sweep the area and locate the sheep.
Bellwether's job was done. She had her vengeance. But she did not realize the discharge the dart gun had on her hand, nor did she notice that the spritz of blue formula had vanished into her flesh.
Hearing the police force move in on her position, she dropped the camera and began running away from the sound, out the door she came in from where the camera cable went off to. Her running was quick but then there was a sudden shift in her form. In an instant, her sheepish head transformed to a sloth one. Her glasses remained on her face, but her head was slothified.
Bellwether slowed down. The light in her eyes was gone. Her mouth hung open dumbly. She made low-pitched grunts. When the police force turned the corner and saw her and Judy, Bellwether could only smile. Friends, she believed with her tiny brain.
One of the police officers, a cheetah, grimaced, "What happened to them? Ugh, and what's that smell?"
Just as the cheetah said that, Bellwether pushed out a log into her panties. She smiled because it felt good. The officers didn't know what to do but recognized both Judy and Bellwether.
Later on, the captain would investigate the incident. Going savage was one thing, but this new method of genetic mutation was far more dangerous and irreversible. Judy and Bellwether were transferred to a high-tech care facility but any cure for their bizarre ailment was looking more and more like an impossibility each passing week.
