John looked at the clock and saw that it was 12:35 in the morning. He wanted to know what jerk would be knocking on his dorm room door at this hour! John slipped on some undies over his naked squirrel body to open the door. If the person had an issue with him just having underwear on then they should not be bothering some one at such a ungodly hour in the morning. John had the shock of his life Don a donkey that his grey fur was turning whitish from being middle aged was standing there in his door.
"Don what are you doing here! You said that you where way to busy to come up to Canada to come see me in collage."
The donkey gave the squirrel a big smile, "What, can a donkey not come and see his boi from time to time?"
"Well no! I mean yes! I mean!....
"Don't worry my boi I know what you mean."
I am really happy to see you Don! But you said that you where way to busy down in the states to come see me."
"Well boi I found that I needed to come see my little boi!"
John was never all that fond of it when others called him boi. But Don was the one exception. Don was the one that turned his life around. He was born to a single mother who was to busy with her dirty filthy friends to really take care of him. Since all he really knew was scum he was well on his way to being scumbag his self.
John thinks back quite a few years back when he and Don happen to come across each other. It was just another brake in for him. All he was doing was braking into another apartment like so many before. All he wanted was some stuff he can grab to sell off to buy drugs. He was not quite hooked on drugs just yet but he was well on his way to be. He had the bad luck of braking into an apartment where the person living there was not out. He does not remember all that much after braking in as Don happen to surprise him and knocked him out cold. By the time that he was aware of what was going on the police had already arrived. To his surprise when he went in front of the judge in juvenile court Don was there offering to take him under his wing in a big brother type of release program.
At first John tried to trick everyone so he could just avoid from staying in Juvenal hall but he learned that Don was not easily fooled what so ever. Don seemed to always be ahead of him by at least three steps.
After John turned 18 and he could be free of Don he stayed with Don. At first it was that he could see that Don really was helping him but it turned out to be even more. The two of them became lovers of a sort. Their love making was nice but Don knew that it could not last. Don knew that he needed to get on with his life and to make something of his self. So Don found him a collage that would accept him despite his really spotty grades, background, and arrest record.
He through his self into his studies because he did not want to go back to where he had started. He wanted to be someone. The down side was that it would take him away from Don. It was way to far for him and Don to see each other. Oh they talked through E mails, text messages, and phone calls but seeing each other in person was just out of the question. That was why he was so shocked to have Don standing at his dorm room door.
"So John are you going to invite me in or am I to just stay here in the hallway?"
"Oh yes, please come in!"
"Well I cant stay long at all. I can only be here for only a very short time."
It did not take the old time lovers long to get real comfortable on John's bed and to start cuddling and kissing. Well cuddling and kissing was not what the two lovers only wanted. Things got a lot more interesting. John always loved having sex with Don. Since the two lovers had not seen each other for a good part of a year. John's own studies kept him busy and Don's work kept him real busy. He was looking forward to the day that he could graduate from collage and him and Don can be together for the rest of their lives. Well the sex got so intense that the two lovers fell asleep soon after they finished.
John woke up when the light of day was coming through his dorm room window. To his dismay Don was long gone. He must have woken up earlier and had to leave and did not want to wake him up.
As he did not have class until afternoon today he decided to just relax and enjoy the smell of Don and the wonderful sex they had together early in the morning.
It was not all that long after he woke that there was a knock on his door. John almost through his self at the door thinking Don had not left but may have gotten some food for the two of them. Well to his shock it was a bear Rick his guidance counselor who was at his door and not Don. Well John was not the only one who got a shock Rick also got quite the shock also. Rick got a full view of a naked squirrel who was supporting a full hard on. After slamming the door on Rick John got dressed real quick and opened the door again.
"I am really sorry about that! I thought you where someone else."
Rick looked at John, "Well I really would hope so!"
John looks down is total embarrassment.
Rick looks at John getting a real serious look. "I have come here in person because I have some real bad news for you. Your mentor, Don, was in a really bad accident last night." Rick gets a real sad look on his face, "I am sorry but he did not make it."
John looks up to Rick "WHAT! WHEN! WHERE!"
"I am sorry John but I don't have all that much in the way of details. He was driving in a bad storm and he had an accident and he was gone at 12:35 in the morning." Rick looks down. "I am sorry for your loss. I know that he was a big help in your life to straiten you out." "I will let your professors know that you had a personal loss and may be skipping some classes in your grief. Of course the collage psychologist will be made available to you day or night for any time that you may have need of her.
John thanked Rick, closed the door and went back to his bed. He tried to get any sent of Don and his sex making the night before. The sent was disappearing fast. John does not know what to make of what had really happened last night between him and Don if anything happen at all. Was it a dream? Did he have sex with the ghost of his now late lover? He does not know what to think what happened between him and Don if anything happened at all.
*From the author* This was my interpretation of a story I had read a very long time ago. I have not been able to find it again for well over a decade now so I decided to make my own version of the story from what little I could remember of it. The original story was gay but I don't think the original story was furry but since I am a fur I made my version furry.
