Notice me Senpai
I sit at the base of this cliff, staring up at your castle. I am lowly, nothing, a simple tool to be used. The waves crash against the rocks below me, and I listen to the rhythm of their mourning. I am in the background. I am to wait.
I wait in my cave, pacing back and forth, waiting for the day that you might call me to the hunt. I long to feel my teeth sink into prey. I breathe simply to be able to run beside you through the forest, feel the moss between the pads of my feet. I want to cry to the moon, and swear by her beautiful injustice. My only wish is to serve, to be beside you, to be whatever you need. I will form myself into strength and power and freedom.
The wind whistles through the trees, and the trees bow low to the power of the wind. The sound of the waves rumble through the stone walls of my cave. I sing my song to the ocean, to the sky, to the moon. It rings off the walls of my cave, echoing back in the cold stone, etching itself on my soul.
Soon. The day will come soon. Your call will answer my own. Others will follow. There will come a time when we no longer float around the edges.
