I've just arrived on Felani Station and I must say it's huge. I would never have imagined that Feline kind could build such a large structure. Plus Felani it's self can be seen out of some of the windows. The home planet of my species... I find it hard to believe each time I look at it. So many lights in so many different colors. Many aren't even from the cities but from the bioluminescent plant life. I'm sad I can't glow like Felani born felines... I was born on a colony world. We farm and make textiles to sell off throughout the galaxy. It's boring work, that's why I left. As a top Technology Expert, I've been contracted by Murring Technologies; a huge megacorporation owned by the Fang Empire, to help design new tech for the Empire military. I look forward to it!

In the morning I set out on a small cargo ship called the Lotus. We're bound for Traverse Station in the outer systems. Murring Tech has most of their projects there. Lyon Out!

*Lyon presses the off button on his log recorder and lays it on the table next to his bed. For such a small hotel room it was comfortable, slyvain silk sheets and breakfast in the morning was hard to beat.

The feline tiredly shuffled to the bed and climbed in. It didn't take long for him to pass out.*

*In the morning he awoke to his alarm blaring, something that never ceased to anger Lyon. Lyon smacked the alarm turning it off and rolled out of bed with a tired grumble* "Damn log. I shouldn't have spent so long on it" *He says to himself while changing into fresh clothes. He looked through his suitcase and decided on brown baggy pants and a red t-shirt, pretty normal wear.

Once dressed, he headed out of his room into the halls. A few attendants were busy vacuuming or cleaning rooms, Lyon gave them a small wave as he passed and went to the elevator. From the elevator Lyon was taken into the main lobby, a small room with a front desk, plain grey metal walls, and red carpet floors. He checked out at the main desk before entering the streets of Felani Station.

The streets were huge, enough to hold thousands walking back and forth at the same time while above hovor cars flew around, taking their passengers around the station.

Lyon made his way through the crowd, finding a flow of felines and canines all headed in the same direction as him. Thankfully it didn't take long to get to the civilian docks where he'd meet the Lotus' captain and board.*

Well I boarded the Lotus and met her captain. A nice Skellian Canine captain named Triss. She showed me around and let me meet some of her crew, though most were rude and seemed to ignore me. The medical officer Virk, a feline with a jaguar patterned pelt, was very nice to me though. I feel like I'm going to try and talk to him more.

We left the station a few hours ago so only a few days till I start my new job and life!

Well like I thought, the rest of the crew didn't like me. I found dirty sock on my chest this morning. The thing reeked! I took two showers before the smell came out of my fur. I tossed the sock in a trash shoot so who really won here? I did! Because now they have a sock without it's match! Ha!

*The Lotus suddenly shoot during rest hours. Lyon laid still, figuring it was just the ship passing through on gassp clouds. The sound of the hullcreaking and large 'BAMS' against the ships plating made him bolt into an upright position. Lyon quickly slipped on a black jumpsuit and headed for the ships bridge.

At the door he hit the open button bit was only greeted by a red light and a picture of a lock.* "What the hell?" *He started before suddenly the normal florescent light shifted to crimson red and a small alarm blared* "This is Captain Triss! All hands to your staions! Engineering! Lock down the power core and ready it's impact shields! We are going down, I repeat we are going down! Guests, please proceed to the safety pod!"

*Without skipping a beat Lyon dashed through the halls, bobbing and weaving through the rushing crew. He tried to remember where the safety room was. Lyon retraced his steps during the tour and eventually found his way into the room. A few safty seats were built into the small room, safety bars would lock a subject in place to ensure they wouldn't bounce around on impact and die.

Lyon locked himself in he then focused so he could hear the crew yelling to one another and the groaning of the hull. The inside of the ship was heating up quick, they must be entering a planets atmosphere.* "Brace for impact!" *Came Trisses voice from over the intercom. Suddenly, everything went black*

*When Lyon came to, he was greeted to a low beeping and flickering if the crimson lights. The hull continued to groan and creak as it cooled, the heat made the inside of the ship almost unbearable.

From outside the safety pod Lyon could hear movement, surviving crew from what he could gather. When the door to the room opened, it got jammed and froze. The survivor forced the door open with ease and got closer to Lyon* "Are you alright Mr. Crux? Any burns? Cuts?" *The feminine voice asked. The survivors soft fingers traced over Lyons arms while hear eyes searched for any signs of damage.*

"N-No, I'm fine thank you. Can you help me out of this seat? Please."

*Lyon asks while struggling against the safety bar. The girl takes a firm hold of the bar and begins to lift, forcing the bar to creak and eventually snap open. She offered Lyon a hand, which he quickly took and got up. The two started to head for the ships exit, a few other survivors were already starting to pile out.

Outside was the surviving crew, at least 5 people. One from security looked like they made it, a canine wearing his cheapy bulbose Plasteel armor with a energy rifle slung over his shoulder. Virk made it as well, though he was busy looking over Triss who looked like she had a bad burn on her left arm. A dazed female reptilian was looking up at the sky, still in shock from the initial crash. Then there was the girl that found him. She was around 5 ft 5in tall with an average build. She was a canine with short hair, grey eyes, and a black coat.

With everyone who survived gathered, Triss got to her feet and spoke aloud* "Alright everyone, I know this looks bad but I assure you we will be fine. We sent out a distress call before we hit the atmosphere of this planet so hopefully a rescue will be on the way. Though I don't want to wait here to find out"

Well I made it out with little to no wounds. I know I'm going to be sore in the morning though. It's nice to see I'm not alone and that most of all the survivors are getting along. Triss has laid out a plan of action for us too. First we need to find a source of food and water next we need to shore up as much of the ship as we can and make sure we are well defended. Who knows what lives on this planet.

The girl that found me, I found out her name is Marsy, was the assistant head engineer. She stabilized the core a few minutes ago and got the lights back on so at least we have power. I've been keeping her company while she works. Kage, the only surviving security officer on the ship, is scouting out around the ship to try and help us get our barings. I hope he finds something of use.

Until Triss gives us leave to go and explore I'm just going to continue to talk to Marsy.

*Lyon and Marsy talk to on another while Marsy works. She was finishing up on stabilizing the ships power core. Once stable they would have an indefinite power source, well as long as they could keep recycling their coolant.

The two fell asleep in the engine room, only waking up once the canine security member entered the room*

"You two, get up. Marsy, Triss wants a status report. Lyon, you're coming with me and Flava to forage. The area is secure and we could use more food to bolster our food supply"

*Said the canine in an almost uninterested tone. Marsy brushed past him and went to look for Triss.

Lyon followed him out of the ship and to the reptilian girl he has seen earlier when she was still in shock*

"Are you feeling better? It's Flava right?" *He asks.

She nods her head and speaks*

"Yes I am fine... Flava is my name yes. Karen here wants me to come along for the forage. I should be able to see what's edible and what's not thanks to my VSAT." *She says while lifting her wrist and showing Lyon a glymps of her wrist mounted screen and scanner.

The trio head into the jungle. They stop to pick fruits and berries and scan them. One in particular, a swirly orange fruit, seemed to be plentiful and resemble the taste of human apples. They gather arm loads before Flava and Lyon were stopped by the guards hushed voice* "Sh, look" *He said while cautiously drawing his rifle. In a small clearing was a four legged, greenfurred animal. It's head was angular with a pair of shining horns on it's head.

A second later the guards rifle fired, sending a pulse of energy slamming into the animals side. It drops dead on the spot, bleeding from the burned hole in it's side. Lyon and Flava run over to it. Flava scans it and mumbles* "Sufficient nutrients, no known toxins or disases... It's safe!" *She declares happily. The guard picks it up and throws it over his shoulder before leading them all back to camp. At the ship, Marsy and Triss were finishing up burying the dead. Virk was studying something long with a pointed head*

Me, Flava, and the security guard went out foraging today. We found and even named a new plant! It was a swirly orange fruit with soft outter skin. It's taste reminded us of apples, you know the red and green things from the Federation? Flava named it 'Comsmic Swirl' Or Swirls for short. I kinda like the name.

The guard actually shot an animal we can eat! It smells so good cooking right now! Reminds me a lot of the Elvor back home, Elvor being a four legged animal native to Felani but wide spread due to colonization and because Elvor have tasty nutrition rich meat.

Virk found something interesting as well. By the ship he found the broken shaft of an arrow with it's head still attached. There must be tribals on the world somewhere... Well or were tribals... Anyhow, I hope they are friendly if still around!

*As Dawn broke, the jungle slowly awoke from it's nightly sleep. The nights of this planet were nothing like those of Felani. The plants didn't glow vibrant shades of yellow, purple, blue, and red. Instead they stayed dark, leaving their nocturnal creatures a mystery. It didn't bother Lyon too much, he grew up on a planet just like this one. Most colony felines didn't even glow like the felines back on the homeworld did.

Today was different, Lyon could feel that the warm jungle air had taken a cooler tone this morning. Much cooler than it should for a jungle world. He could see his breath turn to mist with each exhale* "Strange..."

*He notes to himself before spotting Virk. Virk was rubbing the sleep from his eyes still. He greeted Lyon with a kind smile* "Lyon, how are you feeling?"

*He asked.* "I'm alright, still a bit sore from the crash though"

*Lyon replied while stretching out his sore arms before gently rubbing one then the other*

"I'm sorry I can't give you a Stim to help ease the pain. We've got to save them so if something life threatening happens"

*Triss has told Virk as much. If someone got badly hurt then they could count on advanced medicine to save them but cuts and bruises had to be suffered though with either scrapped together bandages or old fashioned ignoring it.

The two sat down by the ships door, looking out into the dense jungle. It's sprawling vines and high reaching canopy made it seem like an almost endless sea of green.

Withen a half hour most of the crew was outside, many shivering from the cold. Flava was especially cold, her lack of fur and cold blood made her shiver and chatter her teeth. Lyon took off his jacket and offered it to her. It wasn't much, a thin synthetic jacket meant for light rains and a cool day on a jungle world, not for days like this.

She took it and gave him her thanks, it was better than nothing after all. In an attempt to distract herself, Flava began taking reading of different plants. Many of those being plants that were turning a dull greenish brown and seemed to drop over. Flava read her scans carefully and scratched her head while mumbling* "This can't be... A planet of this biome could never be supported if it had a winter cycle..."

A winter cycle was big, most jungle world's would never drop below 60°F. But one thats jungles could hibernate like this and survive snows was extraordinary. Flava was already cutting bits and peices off the Browning plants, looking for some sort of connection between them all. Her claws we're never still, they worked tirelessly to cut open the soft brown flesh of a plant only to have it scanned by her VSAT.

Lyon finally got curious enough, and bored of sitting, to ask her what she found out.*

"It looks like the plants excrete a protective costing that insulates them from the cold. See how some are brown rather than green?" *Lyon nods* "That's the insulated covering! They all mostly seem to make it as a biproduct of their photosynthesis... Or at least from what I can gather"

It was really cold this morning, colder than I've ever felt it on a planet. Flava found out why it was so cold too, turns out this jungle world has a winter cycle that isn't just a wet season like back home. No apparentky it's temperatures drop and snow falls so it's plants produce a compound and excrete it to insulate themselves and survive. It's interesting but it adds a new obstacle to our survival, now we have to gather enough supplies for winter...

We have enough rations in storage to last us a year but Triss would rather not use them unless an emergency...
