"Dad?" Will asked stunned as Lictip nodded. "As I said, we found him half dead. We had picked up a large explosion while scanning for life forms in a desert region. It was severely damaged, half of it had been removed, and the other half was what appeared to be some sort of glowing red machinery. "I can't leave for longer than a month at a time son. I need monthly diagnostic tests. My.. heart isn't always stable. They check it every month to make sure I can.. live."

"How'd you do that?" Luke asked as Scott smiled. Quietly he showed Luke his hand. In it was a small flashing disc which seemed to be connected to his pads. "It allows me to check my components, or just.. Walk around as I am." Luke quietly placed a paw to his father's chest which was still exposed. "It feels really warm." Scott smiled. "Same as my body." Will gently layed a hand to it as well before speaking. "Is it metal? It feels.. different." Scott shook his head. "Not exactly. It's nanites. Lictip and the others removed the damaged portions of my body from the explosion, and added medical nanites to my body in order to save me. The nanites removed the flesh and muscle that were too damaged to simply scar, and replaced it with themselves."

"Can you feel us.. touching you?" Will asked curious of his father's new additions. "Yes. I still feel pain, I still feel ticklish, I still feel pleasure. It's.. just cosmetic for the most part. Will asked as his father covered the last bit of nanites. Scott shrugged before taking the pup from Will. "Not sure. this is all I know of, but.. some of my Organs could be too. That IED really messed me up..." He said as he approached the door. Now.. Go back to your Dorm.. Get some rest. I'll stop by later, and we'll catch up. Okay boys?" Both nodded and hugged their father before walking out with Austin, both smiling happily.
