Sibling Solace

Rae and Tae, fraternal Durachev twins, have never been separated, not since they were old enough to remember. Inseparable, they spent every waking, and non-waking, moment together. With their mother's early death they were left in the care of their father. Their father who blamed them for their mother's death.

As adults they were still inseparable, living together in a small apartment and sharing everything. They worked together, an indispensable duo to their employer, Moon, an organization that hired the most skilled operators it could find--commanding an equally high price. But now Moon wanted to go to the moon, a desolate, industrial wasteland, shattered by a century old war. A suicide mission if there ever was one. A mission they can't turn down because of a debt they owe. Now the inseparable twins face their greatest fear, being torn apart. In that fear, however, they find solace in each other.

A story I wrote years ago and tried selling for awhile, but now it's time to post it for free for all your lovely furs! Really hope you all enjoy this one!

Rae stared out the dirty, filmy back window of the old bus until the town disappeared beneath the horizon like a setting sun. It wasn't a large bus, in reality it was closer to a large van. The bus' suspension squealed in protest over the uneven, ill-maintained road; chassis creaking like an arthritic old man going up a flight of stairs. All the seats were torn and most of the padding had been gone for at least a decade. Vinyl covered the bare metal stabbing into his legs with every pothole. The only thing on the bus that seemed to be properly cared for was the driver's seat--a brand new looking, electronically adjustable unit--and the engine, chugging along smoothly without a care in the world. It was all Rae and his twin sister, Tae, could afford. And that was after the driver's I-feel-sorry-for-you discount.

They were leaving behind their father. At fourteen years old, most would call them runaways, but they were simply moving on with their lives. They weren't running away from him. They were leaving behind his tyranny over their lives.

Their father blamed them for killing their mother as she gave birth to them. Durachev--the raptor-like, smooth skinned, sister species of Hilachev--giving birth to identical twins is very rare and complicated, due to their small stature compared to the other species. It was recommended she terminate the pregnancy because of the threat to her own life. Teil, their mother, adamantly refused to get an abortion, somehow she knew before her doctor had examined her that she carried twins. Their small colony did not have the sophisticated medical services necessary to care for a durachev giving birth to twins, especially one that already suffered from complications. Teil died in her home before she heard the cries of the newborn offspring she'd fought to keep alive. All the midwife could do was save Rae and Tae. Names their parents had decided upon before they were born. Their father cared for them and raised them, but he would never forgive them. As they'd grown, he'd become more resentful and more aloof; more recently he'd started to become abusive.

The vivid, fresh memory made Rae's jaw ache and he rubbed it reflexively, feeling the bruise beneath his skin. At least their father had waited until they were older to become an overt asshole. It was little consolation, he could still remember the bitter, copper taste of blood. Father had cuffed him hard after he'd cussed at him for unjustifiably yelling at Tae. It was the first time he'd ever hit him like that. Tae had immediately jumped in to protect her brother, with claws and screams, catching their father off guard and taking him to the ground. Every hit they landed on their father held years of bitterness and each blow felt like served justice, long deserved. Despite being smaller and weaker, they left their father curled in on himself, wheezing and coughing blood onto the dirty floor, cursing their names with each ragged breath, but he didn't dare get up. The twins had made damn sure of that. An hour later they were buying tickets from the bus driver to the nearest settlement--with credits taken from their father--Benk.

But they didn't go straight to the bus. On their way they stopped at their mother's grave. It was an obvious place to go, if their father wanted to stop them. The grave was a pillar of strength in their young lives. They could still remember the first time their father brought them there. He'd wanted to make a point, to show to them what they had done, to try and make them feel the pain he'd felt all the years since. He wanted them to believe, as strongly as he did, that they had murdered Teil. He wielded the word like a stinging whip. Being so young they'd believed him and it hung over their hearts for many years.

With age, however, came knowledge of how life worked and they knew it wasn't their fault. That was the final truth. The key to their eventual freedom. From then on their mother's grave became a place to be together, to dream of being a family. The only place of refuge from their father that they knew. It wasn't long before he refused to come there to get them when they ran. He couldn't bear to see such a stark reminder that his wife was never coming back, and the two reasons why, at the same time. The twins didn't want to leave their mother behind, but they knew they had to. They clutched each other, huddled against their mother's grave marker until their silent tears dried. Then they said goodbye to all they'd ever known. Goodbye to the last stable anchor in their lives.

Rae looked over at his sister, who was staring at the rapidly passing, desolate countryside. He loved his sister, more than he dared to admit to anybody but her. They had never been separated for more than a couple of days in their lives--and that was before they were old enough to remember--and they had agreed never to be. A promise to never leave the other, no matter what happened. He swore he would never break that promise as long as he lived.

Tae noticed Rae's reflection in the window, staring with worried fondness at her, and turned to him. "Are you afraid father will try and find us?" Rae shrugged and smiled crookedly. His split lip and bruised face covered up his boyishness, lending him an older, roughish appearance.

"He might, especially after what we did to him. But I'm not afraid."

"He deserved every punch and kick for hitting you," Tae growled venomously, hands clenching into fists. Rae put a hand over one of them and slipped his fingers between hers when she finally relaxed.

"I don't regret what we did and we'll do it again if he comes," Rae said confidently, squeezing Tae's hand reassuringly.

"I know, brother. We left him as he is, a damn bleeding coward. He thought he could treat us like that, like it was our fault for what happened to mom." Rae could hear her voice quiver and pretended not to notice. "I'll always be by your side, Rae. I'll fight if I have to, I'll never leave you alone." Tae leaned over and rubbed her nose against his soft cheek. He smiled when she scooted closer and used his shoulder as a pillow. Rae rested his head atop her long, crimson hair and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the horribly uncomfortable seat and the fear of what might become of them. Barely enough money for food and traveling the farthest from home they'd ever been.

Benk was a nine hour drive.

Tae stood in front of the sole window in the small, single room apartment she shared with her twin brother, Rae. The window looked out over a section of Benk--where she and Rae had been living together for fifteen years. She crossed her arms and watched the dying light creep ever closer to darkness, an ominous reminder of how little time remained. Tomorrow was going to be her life, and her brother's, forever.

Rain began to mist on the window and the glass caught a reflection of Rae looking at her. Tae blinked in surprise, an ancient memory conjuring itself in her mind's eye. A time long ago, a window and a situation that paralleled uncomfortably. Only this time, when Tae turned around to look at him, Rae quickly averted his gaze.

A duffel bag, half full, sat on Tae's half of the single bed. She'd shared a bed with Rae for as long as she could remember and had never wanted her own, no matter the opinions of outsiders--or their father. What did it matter anyway, she thought. She resolutely set her mind in a different direction. They hadn't grown up the way she and Rae had. Didn't suffer the losses or abuses. She never put up with the scoffing of strangers and neither did Rae.

Tae continued on from where she'd left off on packing, turning her attention to ensuring her gear was situated and that she packed all the essentials; never too much, never not enough. She glanced at Rae on occasion as he packed his own gear away. He had his own certain way of doing things. It wasn't as neat or orderly, but he could fit everything all the same. They both looked at each other but avoided eye contact, mutually feeling it would make them have to face the impending change head on, before they were ready.

Were either of them honest with themselves they would both be able to admit they were scared. Not seeing each other every day would be something that hadn't happened in their twenty-nine years of shared existence.

It didn't take Tae long to finish, it never had, but she wasn't excited to finish the task as she usually was; thinking about what was coming and the rush of adrenaline it always brought. Now, it was just one step closer to the moment when everything would change. When her whole life would change. It wouldn't be the first time everything changed. Rae had always been there. There would be no comfort of experience to guide her this time. Not only were they going on a mission to establish outposts on the moon--incredibly dangerous, suicidal even, on a good day--they were doing it without each other.

Rae zipped his duffel bag closed, dropped it next to the door and sighed, staring for a moment where it landed with his arms limp at his sides. He came back and sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed his snout between his hands. Tae knew what that nervous tic meant. She walked around the bed and sat next to him, putting a hand on his shoulder, saying nothing because she knew Rae perfectly. He would talk when he was ready. The gesture was just the gentle reminder that she was there and listening. Rae had always drawn into himself during times of hardship and wouldn't speak to her about his thoughts without the gesture. It was like he was always silently asking for permission. Some habits learned as a child never die.

"I don't know if I can do this," Rae said quietly after a few minutes of idly rubbing his snout in thought, "Not without you keeping me together." He tried to smile with the attempted joke, but it wouldn't come. The truth wasn't very comical.

"And you think I can?"

"You've always been stronger than me, kept me together when I feared I was going to fall apart," Rae argued, half-hearted.

"Only because you were there. Half of my strength is you." Tae put her head on Rae's shoulder. She'd done it so many times in the past that it was reflex. "I don't want to do this either. You know we have no choice. We kind of lost that when we accepted the augmentations. We still have years before we work off that debt." Tae tapped Rae on the head, over where an implant was buried in his skull.

"We could run," Rae offered, well aware that it would be futile.

"And then they would simply rip the augs out, dead or alive. You know they're worth more to them than years of the work we do."

"At least we'd die together."

"I'm not ready to die and neither are you. That's enough of that," Tae said forcefully and pressed her nose to the back of his jaw before nipping him roughly.

"Ow," Rae pouted and then sighed, "I know and you're right, of course. As always." Rae put his hand gently on Tae's thigh and she knew he'd said all he was going to. They knew each other's every habit implicitly, but when Rae turned and wrapped his arms around Tae, burying his face in her neck, it was completely out of character. Tae wasn't sure what to do at first. Rae had never done this before and it confused her. There homes lives were so rote they were almost choreographed. She settled on putting one arm around his shoulders and ran the fingers of her other hand through his short, disheveled mop of ruddy hair. They stayed like that, letting the intimate moment linger.

Rae suspired wearily, a hint of sadness in the way the sound of it quivered. He stood up slowly and turned to Tae, leaned down and kissed her forehead. Tae noticed that his lips lingered longer than normal, his hands on her thighs slightly higher. When he stood back up and she looked into his eyes she saw something strange in them. He blinked and it was gone.

"Thanks, Tae," He said and padded into the bathroom, leaving the door slightly ajar behind him. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Tae listened to the quite rustle of clothes falling into a pile on the floor. He never did bother to set them aside neatly. That had always irked her, but it was Rae. Her rebukes only came off as fond chiding. The shower sounded like a heavy rainstorm as it sputtered to life; the water pressure taking time to build. Benk's infrastructure deteriorated in quality as the distance from the city center increased.

Her forehead felt hot where Rae had kissed her, spreading as a dull warmth through the rest of her body. It was an unfamiliar feeling she'd experienced only a few times before toward Rae, but always she suppressed it. She shifted, suddenly uncomfortable sitting on his side of the bed, as if she was trespassing. The slightly open bathroom door made no attempt to hide Rae's naked body, standing silently beneath the hot spray. Water rolled down his squared shoulders and sinuous back. Being nude around each other was as normal as being clothed. Nothing out of the ordinary.

What was out of the ordinary was the way Tae felt and how Rae had acted for that brief moment. It was likely that either one of them would be dead in less than a week. That was the way of things when going to the moon, almost always a suicide mission. She knew of few attempts and none ever returned. There was little enough high technology scattered across the globe in bits and pieces, let alone complete, functioning, space capable craft.

Tae had never loved anybody but her brother. On some level she always knew she loved him more than a sibling ought to love another, but had always been afraid Rae might not feel the same. However, the way he'd just kissed her and the way he had looked at her...she'd never forgive herself if Rae was killed and she'd never risked finding out how he felt. Who was to tell her what was proper or improper. The world was shattered, barely clinging to life, and she wouldn't bow to a dying world's socialization. It seemed strange to her to realize that maybe there was something about her brother that she didn't know. Maybe he felt the same way about her.

If she was going to find out, this was her only, and last, chance before their own little world crumbled before their eyes.

The bathroom door whispered open and the sound of the water splashing on the tile floor filled her long, pointed ears. Rae glanced over at her, expressionless, before putting his head under the steaming spray. She slipped her comfortable house pants from her hips and they heaped around her toes. Her plain brown t-shirt followed. The small mirror above the sink had yet to fog and she looked at her reflection, nude, save for her plain black panties.

Her dark red hair fell down to her shoulders, curling at the tips. The color contrasted her off-white skin, completely featureless except for the thin black markings curving down at the corners of her eyes. Her brother had the same markings, same hair and the same skin; he was even the same height, perfect twins. Tae looked back at herself before pushing her panties down and stepping out of the clothing pooled around her ankles. She didn't understand why she suddenly felt that her body was inadequate. Her breasts were small--she'd never really needed to constrict them most of the time--and her body was thin, lacking typical feminine curves. It was a body hardened and muscled for her stealthy, mercenary profession. If Tae considered Rae in the same gendered manner, he was thin shouldered, skinny and somewhat androgynous.

Tae crossed her arms self-consciously and watched as her visage dissolved into a white blob beneath the encroaching fog. Despite the cold of her self-examination, her body was still warm; recalling Rae's touch minutes earlier. His gentle hands on her thighs, his smooth lips against her skin...

"Are you coming in?" Rae's voice gave Tae a start. He gave her a quizzical look. She nodded meekly in response, unable to help acting like a scared little girl. It was annoying her that she felt like she was about to do something improper. It frustrated her more that she was having that internal struggle. When had it ever mattered before, she questioned herself.

The shower stall's glass door slid smoothly along its track. A testament to how clean Rae kept things for how old the casters were. Water splashed off Rae and hit Tae as a fine, cold mist. She urged Rae further under the stream so she could share in the heat. Rae said nothing, being quite used to it.

Tae rubbed the water into her skin, delaying have to commit to what she wanted to do. All she could think about was a time, years ago, where she'd convinced Rae to try exploring each other's bodies. They were sixteen at the time; however, Rae had become uncomfortable when she started to touch him intimately and thought it was wrong. Nothing had ever happened since.

Rae picked up a bottle of shampoo and shook it before flipping up the top. Tae's hand snaked under his arm, palm open and waiting as he flipped the bottle. He looked back over his shoulder and she smile expectantly, butterflies in her stomach. Her breasts were touching his back and her nipples brushing his smooth skin made her body tingle. The liquid oozed out when he squeezed the bottle and the dollop of liquid flattened slowly across her palm. Rae returned the bottle to its nook and crossed his arms.

Tae began to work the shampoo into his hair, quickly building a healthy amount of suds before massaging them into his scalp. The shampoo was cheap, made by one of their neighbors in the complex. She'd never asked what it was made out of, but it smelled fresh and citrusy. Their neighbor even refilled their bottle at a discount. The twins could easily afford better toiletries and a place to live because of their line of work; living luxuriously like some of their fellow operators, had they liked. But paying off their debts to their employer for their augmentations was their priority. Thus, they lived simply and frugally. For as good as they were at being mercenaries, it wasn't something they wanted to do forever. Or die doing. The constant risk of one losing the other wore on them. Coming home from a job was always a chance to feel safe and free. The constant nagging fear of being bereft of the other at ease.

Rae sighed and his shoulders slumped, relaxing under his sister's gentle, soothing hands. It wasn't often that she bathed him. Sharing the shower was normally just a way to use less water, but they washed themselves. His mind wandered back to wondering why she'd looked so self-conscious, standing naked in front of the mirror. He'd never seen her like that before and disliked it. Tae was beautiful, fierce and, even though it felt strange to think of his sister as such, sexy. He couldn't deny that he sometimes watched her work, lithe body twisting to mount obstacles in silence. He was the one who wasn't much to look at, in his mind.

When he felt Tae nudge his head toward the water he complied, holding his breath for the first few moments as water and shampoo cascaded down his snout over his nostrils. The suds were quickly carried away and he leaned back, brushing his hair back to squeeze water out and wiping some from his eyes.

"Watch where you're flinging water," Tae chided him and danced her stubby claws up his sides.

Rae jerked away from her, back under the water. "Hey!" he sputtered. Odd, he realized, she hadn't tried tickling him in years. Tae was acting different than normal, not strange...just different. Not that he could blame her. She seemed just as apprehensive about being parted as he was. It was possible they'd never see each other again. With that distinct possibility hanging heavy over their lives, he resolved to return her lighthearted attack, when she least expected it, and do as she: forget about tomorrow and think only of his beloved sibling. Try and enjoy these last hours in the safety of their home.

"That wasn't very nice," Rae grumbled beneath the downpour, eyes closed.

"Hush." Tae smiled, sensing something change, like a string stretched taut given slack. An easing of tension between them. She guided him from beneath the water and switched places. "My turn."

Rae nodded obediently and reached past her for the shampoo. He had to bend down, putting his head close to her chest. She shifted and her breast brushed the side of his head. With no indication that he noticed, he squeezed the shampoo into one hand and stood up. He didn't think much of the contact. When he looked up from his hand he met her warm gaze and blushed lightly, recalling some semblance of manners. "Sorry."

"For what?" She smirked, knowing exactly what. Rae averted his eyes and waited for her to turn around. She didn't. "As if I mind if you touch me, brother. You're all I have," she said smoothly. The simplest of hints.

"Turn around." It was a question more than a command. The viscous liquid was starting to seep between his fingers and splatter on the plastic floor to swirl the drain between Tae's feet and disappear.

"Nah." The corners of her lips twitched up defiantly. Rae looked at those lips. Always so expressive and suddenly so inviting. He swallowed, pushing that fleeting thought aside, and slid his palm across the top of Tae's wet hair. His sister, stubborn as always.

Rae distracted himself with her hair. It was the same color as his, but a little longer and softer. He thought about all the times she let him brush it and wondered why he enjoyed it so much. Each time he glanced to her eyes she met his and each time he quickly looked back to her hair. Delicate crimson beneath the layer of white foam. He had to step closer to reach his fingers to the back of her head and down to her shoulders to the tips where her locks naturally curled--even the water seemed unable to defeat them. Diligently, he worked the lather into every strand. The whole time he felt her watching him. Somehow, he felt she was making a decision about something. About him. The few moments he risked meeting her eyes he saw a different, strange light in them, and without reason his cheeks grew warmer and warmer.

When he finally finished he looked back to her amethyst eyes and realized his nose had come to be an inch from hers. He wasn't sure if he'd come so close or if she had. More, he wondered how he hadn't noticed at all. Or that he didn't mind. He felt her exhalation waft across his damp nose.

Rae moved to step back, suddenly embarrassed with himself. Tae followed and put one hand on his shoulder to stop him. His fingers tightened nervously, tangling in her hair. Then their eyes met.

He wasn't surprised when she closed the gap. She did it slowly, leaving him ample opportunity to retreat if he truly wanted to. But he didn't. It was a different kind of kiss than any they'd shared before. There was feeling in it that neither had meant in the past. The physical contact didn't last long, a test, brushing up against an unspoken line to see if they could cross it without consequence. The softness of her lips lingered on his. A final, intangible barrier between them shattered like ice into a million glittering crystals.

Rae was the first to find his voice and pressed his nose to Tae's. "Have we both allowed ourselves to be so blind to each other?" He asked quietly, already knowing the answer.

"No. Not blind, my brother, just scared," she admitted for the both of them. She slid her fingers into the scruff of hair at the nape of Rae's neck. She searched his eyes. Was it for approval, or permission? Rae assented to what she'd said by kissing her back, deeper this time, tilting his snout opposite hers. Again, the kiss didn't last long. Rae slid his arms around Tae and they embraced, uncertainly yet happily, as more than just siblings. Heads bowed, foreheads and noses touching, he guided them under the water. Shared warmth cascaded down their bodies, from the water and from within. Beneath the water, as Rae rinsed the shampoo from Tae's crimson hair, they were safe, ensconced by the spray in their little world. Safe from tomorrow, safe from the coming journey, and safe from the moon's promised perils.

Rae wasn't sure how long Tae's hair had been rinsed clean, nor recall when the water had started to grow cold. The water heater wasn't infinite, after all. He'd been lost in the same deep state of thought Tae was. Why had his sister and he been so afraid to be completely open and honest, he wondered. The memory of rebuking her when she tried to be physical with him prodded him as if it were a great failure on his part; but, it had been so long ago it felt like decades. And he'd only been embarrassed, an awkward boy, naked in front of the girl he loved, but she'd never tried again after that. Maybe if she had tried again later. But he'd driven her away and taken it as a sign to keep those kinds of desires to himself, only to be acted upon when he was safely alone. A small part of him regretted that act upon completion, as if he were desiring and doing something disgusting and immoral. He considered that he'd always been afraid of external judgment or rebuke from the communities they'd lived in. However, now, he was more than old enough to face it down. As he had been for years, he reminded himself as if he'd failed Tae somehow.

He sighed.

"I'm cold now, Rae." When Tae spoke he opened his eyes from the fog of his mind and noticed the ice cold needles pelting him. He chuckled sheepishly as he shivered and let his sister go. She breathed a bit easier now that Rae's strong, relentless hold on her was gone. Other than the freezing water, she'd been perfectly content in his arms.

"Right." Tae quickly turned and shut off the water. She hugged herself and shivered.

"You really don't notice much when you do that."

"Do what?" Rae replied, unsure of what she was referring to.

Tae raised an eyebrow at him and shook her head slowly, but a soft smile betrayed her. "When you get lost inside your own head. Almost nothing will bring you out. No. Don't deny it. You made me stand under the water until we were being hit by icicles. You didn't notice until I said something." Rae looked at his feet with a frown.

"Why didn't you say anything sooner?"

"Because I was thinking too. Just not as blindly to my environment as you. And...I was in no hurry to leave your arms." Tae admitted the last part quietly. He glanced up at her. A day ago he would have taken what she meant very differently.

"Sorry, Tae." She looked at him quietly for a moment, then nodded to herself. She had come to a decision. She pulled the lone towel from where it hung on the frame of the glass door.

"You can make it up to me by drying and warming me up." Tae's smile was gentle, but Rae could see the opening she offered. It was an offer to come close, to touch her, to not be afraid, or worry about anything else. She offered him an easy excuse to be with her, every inch of her creamy skin. A towel between his hands and her flesh was merely to veil the suggested lasciviousness.

Rae draped the oversized towel over Tae's shoulders. It was as blue as a clear sky and as fluffy as one would imagine a cloud to feel if one didn't know they were made up of water. Growing up with little and only each other, after they left their father, left them with an appreciation for small niceties now that they could afford them. Smooth sheets, soft blankets and a comfortable bed; soft bath towels and hot water; and good, healthy food with a well-appointed kitchenette to cook it. They had want for little more to fill their lives and time, as long as they had each other. Now, suddenly, they had an even richer nascent relationship, but all coming together the night before their inevitable separation. The reality of it was bittersweet to both of them, but in their coming trials and hardships the memory of the night and desire to make it more than just one night would likely serve them well.

Maybe even save them.

Tae turned around when Rae finished drying her back and butt, still blushing lightly at the way he'd dried her rear and tail; taking his time and allowing himself some appreciative squeezes. He started with her hair, patting it dry--as she'd taught him long ago so it wouldn't require extensive brushing. Then her face, shoulders, breasts and toned belly. She looked into his eyes when he hesitated to continue down, and was pleasantly surprised when he kissed her. It was still shy and a little awkward, but they shared that as they learned each other's lips and mouths. After so long together they both relished finding something new to share.

Between the impassioned kissing and the drying of each other's bodies, it took them a while to finally step out of the shower stall. Rae dried his feet and then passed the towel back to his sister. After drying her feet, Tae picked up her discarded panties from the pile of clothes and pulled them on. She wasn't sure why she had felt the urge for some modicum of modesty, but it didn't compel her to put anything else on. Rae raised an eyebrow curiously at her when he turned around and noticed. Tae shrugged, picked up her hairbrush and left the bathroom. Rae stared out the door for a moment before he followed her out. He wanted to commit to memory the new way he saw her so he'd never forget. He didn't bother to put anything back on as he left the bathroom. Modesty was something that was often lost on Rae.

Tae sat on the edge of the bed--on his side, he noticed with a smile--and had started brushing her hair. Nobody that knew Tae would ever dare to call her girly, but she certainly didn't like having messy, tangled and matted hair. Rae crawled onto the bed and seated himself behind her, legs spread around her. Gently he worked the brush out of her hand and took over. The brush glided through her fine, soft hair. Any knot that it caught only required the lightest of tugs to break through. A serene smile lit Tae's face and she relaxed under her brother's tender care.

When Rae finished, a small tangle of hair was stuck in the bristles of the brush and Tae's hair shone like silk. He dropped the brush to the floor without a care and slid his arms around her chest. He gave her an affectionate squeeze, forearms under her breasts. She leaned back into his loosed embrace and he nuzzled the back of her head, inhaling her intoxicating, feminine scent. Not even the soap or the dampness of her hair could mask her skin's natural smell. It stirred something he'd never allowed himself to feel for his sister before. This time, he didn't bother to bury it beneath shame.

Tae's body tingled deliciously where Rae's fingertips touched as they slid freely over her lubricious skin. Everything he did drew out unknown sensations and elicited untapped emotions. To her, the moment was as perfect as she'd never realized one could be, but she knew that they were only just learning what life together, truly together, could be.

"Rae," Tae sighed and dropped her head back onto his shoulder, touching her nose to the base of his long, pointed ear.

"What?" Rae breathed, afraid being too loud would wake him from what, surely, must be a dream. His hands, however, were not as cautious as his claws trailed up Tae's torso, over her breasts and nipples, up to and along her clavicle. Tae gasped softly into his ear, sending a delightful shiver through him. He held her between his thighs, dragging his claws daintily back and forth, up and down her body. The ghosting of his touch had her gripping his thighs and breathing hotly into his ear; her small movements grinding the base of her tail against his yearning arousal.

Suddenly, she realized she couldn't think of what to say that would be adequate to convey to her brother everything she felt for him. Something had been on the tip of her tongue, but it'd been lost, stolen from her mouth by his subtle touch. I love you, just felt too easy and cheap. It wouldn't convey to her dear brother the richness and bottomlessness of her love. She didn't want to cheat Rae of how important he was to her. Without him, she wasn't sure she would ever be happy, or even want to continue in this life. Life without her beloved brother would be no life at all, she believed that with all her heart. And that is exactly how Rae felt about his sister.

Tae turned her shoulder to Rae's chest when she could no longer handle any more of his teasing claws and placed a hand on his cheek. He opened his eyes and lowered them to look at her, into her loving, wide gazed. She lifted her snout to meet his and kissed him deeply. The kiss stayed his hands and he closed his eyes once again, meeting her with equal passion.

"Tae," he breathed into her eager lips and slowly fell onto his back. She moved with him, turning to lay atop his chest without ever letting their lips part.

There was no longer a world waiting beyond the walls, no mission that would tear them apart and nothing that mattered any longer, only Tae and Rae existed now.

Rae wrapped his arms around his sister's strong, warm body and let his hands openly wander. The feel of her lips and the taste of her mouth was better than he'd ever dreamed; her skin--silky smooth despite being peppered with the scars and wrinkles of their hard life--couldn't possibly be matched by any other woman. His fingers glided down into the valley of her arched back, to rise suddenly onto her perfect ass, which he squeezed lewdly. Tae rewarded him with a soft moan and pressed down against him. He couldn't resist groping and exploring her perfect-in-every-way backside thoroughly; stroking along her tail, lifting it and rubbing along the sensitive underside. He smiled when he felt her shiver.

Tae resumed making out with her brother wantonly. She was the first to lick hesitantly at the other's lips, then slipping her tongue past them into his mouth, filling them both with lust at the taste and warmth of their sibling's mouth. Rae shifted his focus from Tae's ass to her kiss, reciprocating what she had done just as eagerly. They kissed every way they could think of, nibbled at each other's snouts and necks--interspersed with gasps and nervous giggles--for so long they lost track of all passage of time.

Eventually, Tae wanted more, her body begged for more from Rae. She only had to shift and grind her body against him twice to send the message, smiling at how he was as horny as she was. His body language conveyed to her that she didn't need the words she couldn't form. To tell him how she loved him with all her soul.

One of his hands slid between her buttocks, fingers brushing skin untouched by anyone but herself, then down until they met hot, damp flesh. Tae moaned quietly into his neck as the tips of his timid fingers brushed and delicately probed where she'd been wanting them for years. Even that hesitant, soft touch made her muscles tense and body quake. When his fingers stretched and barely reached her clit she moaned so loudly it momentarily embarrassed her. Rae's amorous smirk made her blush even more. She hid her face against his throat, but he could still feel the heat of her cheek.

No longer could she ignore the warmth and stiffness of his arousal pressed against her mons, or the wetness that had been smeared between their bellies.

"Tae," Rae breathed passionately into her ear as he nibbled on the edge of it, "I've never wanted you quite like I do right now. It's...strange, but wonderful." Tae groaned, a small tremor running through her body with his words and a release of pent up tension. She couldn't believe she'd just had a small orgasm from his ethereal touch, his lusty breath in her ear, his sharp teeth nibbling the base of her ear. He was all she had ever, or would ever, want.

"I'm yours and yours alone, brother," Tae whispered tremulously into Rae's ear, spoiling that ear with small bites. She smiled as her bites made him even harder against her, delighted by his near silent whimpers. She'd never thought such a simple thing could have such on effect on him, or even the effect it had on her when he did the same. He needed her as badly as she needed him.

Tae rolled off to his side and slipped an arm under him. She wasn't strong enough to pick him up, but it was enough to push him in the direction she wanted him to move. Rae obliged his sister's desire and rolled onto his side and then lay over top of her. She watched his muscles work and stole a glance down at his bobbing erection as he moved. The sight of it sent a shiver of lust up her spine that made her want to grab him and force him down onto her.

He let his weight settle over her and held himself up on his elbows. Tae made a deep, pleasured sound in her throat as she felt his length press against her slick, flushed labia. He shifted his hips, grinding against her, forcing himself to restrain from plunging himself into her. Nothing had ever felt this good before and there was still so much more.

The light outside had died away, Rae realized, seeing the dim light reflected in his sister's impassioned gaze. Only the small light in the bathroom, casting hard edged shadows, and a distant streetlamp faintly illuminated their small apartment. It was more than enough for the twins, who knew everything and almost every part of each other. Soon, there would be nothing left that they didn't know. For some, that lack of the unknown would be boring, but for the twins, it was the best thing either could hope for.

Rae pushed a stray lock of hair from Tae's face and smiled softly at her. She returned it and lifted her head just enough to kiss him. Rae pressed back until Tae's head sank into the sheets. He separated from her lips, after a time. They beckoned him to come back, but he refused, dipping his head to delicately slide his tongue across one of Tae's erect nipples. One hand fondly massaged the breast unattended by his lips. Tae's breath caught in her throat when he switched over. The fire building in the depths of her body was sweltering.

"Ah, Rae, no more, please," Tae moaned desperately and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Don't hold back any longer."

She ran her fingers through his fine hair, in anticipation, after he nodded. The shifting of his hips, moving back and then up, sent a shiver of thrill through her. For so long she'd wanted what was about to happen. She's imagined it while masturbating more times than she was willing to admit to him.

His first attempt was wide, prodding her thigh; then high, making her gasp when he ground against her clit instead; on the third, she had to whisper into his ear that he was trying to go into the wrong hole and that he'd have to wait until they were together again to try that. Rae chuckled in embarrassment, blushing, and apologized. She licked and nibbled on the edge of his ear, whispering sweet encouragements about every way that he made her want him as her lover. What he wasn't aware of was that she was as nervous as he was.

And then, as she felt his tense muscles relax at her words, she also felt the tip of his length easily slip past her slick folds, penetrating shallowly into her. Everything about it felt absolutely right, to both of them. Rae slid his arms around Tae's head and cradled her, tucking her snout against his throat. Tae felt the vibrations in his throat, before the vocalization, and knew that he felt as good as she did. Any utterance she could have made was trapped in her lungs, her mouth open in silent ecstasy as Rae slowly sank every last inch into her. It wasn't until she felt his bony hips meet hers that she could finally take a breath, a single breath, before Rae sealed her mouth with a passion he'd never shown her before. Rae poured everything of himself into the kiss and the connection he now shared with his sister.

Rae put his arms under Tae and hugged her, practically crushing her with his strength. Neither sibling moved their body's, locked in the deepest embrace they had ever shared, body and spirit intertwined. Tae coughed when he loosened his grip and Rae, again, apologized sheepishly. He touched his nose to hers and they quietly looked into each other's eyes with the widest, unrepentant smiles.

"Tae," Rae started, finally breaking the silence, "I can't believe we denied each other this for so long."

"Rae, love, we've barely even started," Tae pointed out with a smirk and tousled her brother's soft hair. Hair that she'd always loved running her fingers through. When he used to put his head in her lap and she'd stroke her fingers through his hair, she'd always wanted to lean down and kiss him. Now she wouldn't have to stop herself anymore when she wanted to kiss his perfect mouth. And so, she didn't.

Rae sighed through his nose and, with it, every worry he'd ever had about openly loving his sister left him. Gently, slowly, he started to move his hips, rocking shallowly forward and back. The feeling of his sister's warm, gripping, lubricious flesh against him, for the first time, was something he'd never forget--or the way she moaned so cutely for him. Her guttural noises were sweet and silky to his ears.

The way she panted and whispered his name stoked his lust. He couldn't resist increasing the pace that his body so desperately desired. Making love to his beloved sister, his caretaker and protector, was better than his brain had ever imagined it could be. Basal, carnal hunger lurked just beneath the surface, pushing him to take his female unrestrained. It was a powerful feeling, as he drove himself into her, which he'd not been expecting.

Tae growled into her brother's ear, imploring her male to take her roughly, lifting her hips to meet his. She wrapped her legs around him and held him down atop her, resisting his backward movements. His hips continued as he strained against her strength, but their movement was shallow. This was how she wanted him, as deep into her as possible. She wasn't going to let him go and he knew it.

They had no reason to worry about any consequence of their love making. The augmentations she'd received had made her sterile. Most of her was happy for it, this was not a world she wanted to bring an innocent child into. Yet, a very small part of her yearned to be a mother. A maternal instinct she would always deny. Not that she had a choice anymore. She knew Rae would have been a wonderful father and that first generation interbreeding held little risk, but it was a supposition that would never happen. So, she held Rae tight with her powerful thighs and scored his back with her claws in ecstasy as he plowed into her.

Rae panted into Tae's throat, his body tensing as he did his best to fuck her. Some instinct told him to bite his sister's tensed shoulder, into the taut muscle that rose between her shoulder and neck. Something about the rise of flesh there beckoned his jaws. Tae gasped, surprised at the sudden pressure and dull pain that gripped her neck. Her body shuddered at the numbing pain, but it felt so--right. Her male marking her, claiming her, with his teeth as he had his way with her. She claimed Rae for her own as well, setting her teeth into his smooth skin, licking the flesh trapped in her jaws, tasting the subtle copper of his blood as it seeped around the teeth that punctured his flesh.

Rae shifted his weight forward, lifting Tae's hips up off the bed so he could thrust even deeper into her tight cunt. The twins panted raggedly between the teeth secured into the other's shoulder. Rae's thrusting suddenly lost what little rhythm he'd been maintaining. His entire body tensed in a familiar way, breath stilling in his lungs. Tae tightened her jaws, climaxing before her brother, the rhythmic pulsing of her muscles greedily demanding his release. And it sent him over the edge.

His breath left him in a deep growl as he pumped his seed into his sister with each fitful thrust. Tae released Rae's neck and groaned, feeling her brother's lurid essence filling her completely. She smiled to herself as his body quaked with his release, tension easing from the muscles in his back beneath her fingers as he emptied himself inside her. The way his arms shook with the dual effort of his release and supporting himself made her desire to hold him close.

Rae moved in the daze of afterglow and opened his mouth, shifting his hips gently. Tae felt his teeth pull free of her neck, feeling the sting of the air and faint oozing of blood from the fresh wounds. She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him tight, nosing his ear. "Rae, my brother, my lover, I've never been happier than in this moment," she whispered breathlessly into his ear. He said nothing as he lifted his head to look into her eyes. He agreed with his lips, kissing her as deeply as he was hilted in her.

The kiss didn't end until Rae's flaccid length slipped free. He smiled at her, suddenly embarrassed without knowing why. She set her legs down to either side of him and he sat back onto his feet. He looked down as Tae propped herself onto her elbows. She felt wetness ooze languidly out of her, down between her legs and butt to the bed. She was surprised to see Rae blushing and gave him a questioning look. Rae slid his hands up and down the inside of Tae's thighs. "I feel weird saying this, but I think you're even sexier now," Rae, abashed, looked aside from his sister's amused grin.

"You're such a boy, Rae," Tae chided him mirthfully. Rae looked back at her with a wry smile.

"That's a good thing though." The way he said it made it more like a question than a statement.

"Of course it is, dummy." Tae grabbed his wrists and pulled him as she fell back onto the bed. Rae came up and then crawled over her on all fours, unsure of what she wanted.

"Turn around." Rae paused and started to sit back. "No, just like this, but turn around."

"Okay." Rae turned awkwardly until his knees were on either side of Tae's head, with his head between her bent knees. He looked down her body to her, upside down. "Now what?"

Tae answered by gripping her brother's rump tightly and lifting her head, lips wrapping around the head of his wet, limp cock. He shivered and slid his knees slowly out until her head was back on the bed, his length secure in his sister's hot mouth. It was another new, wonderful sensation. The way her tongue caressed the tip of his still sensitive length made his legs quiver. Even though he'd just recently cum, he was getting hard again. Then she stopped, her hot breath washing over his length. "Well?"

"What?" Rae asked, unsure exactly what she was expecting, but desperately wanting her to continue. "Stick your nose where it belongs and put that delicious mouth of yours to work," she commanded him with a mischievous grin, one of her hands sliding down her torso between her legs, spreading her wet folds to him. Rae knew he wasn't going to get out of it. Strange as it was, as his snout met her plump, soaked lips, and he took in the heady mixture of their scents, licking his own seed from his sister's cunt seemed oddly arousing.

With the first tentative strokes of his tongue, he felt her lips close back around his renewed arousal. The bland taste of their mixed fluids was less offensive to his palate than he'd been expecting. He wondered if she enjoyed his mouth and tongue as much as he was enjoying hers. He tilted his head and spread her lips with his nose, then sent his tongue out, enthusiastically explore his sister as deep as he was able. The texture of his cum bothered him little, knowing that Tae was going to get a stronger taste of it herself soon enough if she kept up her ministrations.

Rae lapped and suckled at his sister's willing flesh wantonly. He wanted to be able to do this to her as often as she would let him, but what tomorrow would bring nagged at him and threatened to take him out of the moment. Tae bobbed her head and wrapped her tongue around her brother's length. There was something about feeling his body quiver from her simple attention to his pulsing hardon that was exhilarating, a new power over him she'd never enjoyed before. When his lips, and tongue, found their way to her engorged clit the balance of power shifted. Rae grinned to himself, seeing Tae's legs quake out the corner of his eye and feeling her gasp around his thick cock. She arched her back and moaned loudly, her body quivering as she climaxed again.

Tae panted as she rode her orgasm. Rae gently nuzzled and licked at her damp folds until she stilled. He smirked and slowly lifted his hips to free himself from her mouth. Tae watched curiously as he turned carefully and settled back down with his cock hanging in front of her lips, waiting. He smiled down at her and lowered himself until his length was enthusiastically pulled back into the heat of his sister's mouth. Watching her suck him off as he gently rocked his hips made it feel like his dick grew even harder. He wasn't going to last much longer and watched her, concentrating, committing to memory the way she deftly took him, in and out, in and out.

"Tae, ah--" Rae groaned, teetering on the brink. Tae firmly gripped his ass and forced him down, every last bit of his length buried in her greedy maw. Rae groaned with his release, emptying his seed once more, this time into his sister's mouth, with each fitful jerk of his hips. Tae growled low around him and swallowed every last drop with aplomb. When he felt he had nothing left in him he lifted his hips, and smiled down at Tae, his glistening, receding length on her damp lips. She licked her lips then, and his tip, and grinned back when he shivered. "I think that was more than the first time." Rae blushed, sitting lightly back on Tae's chest, and stroked her long snout with one hand, trailing his claws along her moist lips.

"How can you tell?"

"Because I could feel it when you came in me, Rae. Every. Last. Spurt." Tae smirked, trailing a claw down Rae's belly to his semi-flaccid cock as it came to rest on her skin, making it jump. Rae smiled bashfully and looked away. Then he shook his head fondly.

The twins settled down, snuggling close, enjoying each other's warmth. "I suppose we should get a bit of sleep," Rae muttered after kissing his dear sister. Tae shook her head and smirked. "Are you kidding? We can sleep on the shuttle the whole way there." She reached down and deftly massaged Rae's balls. "Besides, I want you again as soon as I can get you hard."

"I don't know if my body can handle that."

"Hmm, not so sure it has a choice, brother." Tae growled amorously and pressed Rae onto his back, rolling on top of him. "I'll just have to make this one last until the time we're together again." Rae's smile faded slightly at that. Tomorrow was the very last thing he wanted to happen. Unfortunately, the passage of time is inexorable.

"Ouch!" Rae winced as his balls were squeezed.

"Stop it." Tae warned without lessening her grip.

"Stop what?" Rae whined quietly. Tae narrowed her eyes to slits. She set him free and he melted meekly beneath her. "Okay, okay. Don't remind me and I won't dwell on it."

"That's a good boy," Tae cooed softly and slipped to Rae's side. "Now, why don't you put those idle hands of yours to use. But I get to fuck you one more time before I'll let you sleep." Tae forced his snout to hers and kissed him before he could utter any more words. His fingers slid down her side, along the curve of her hip, to the dampness between her thighs.

"I might be starting to regret what I've awakened in you," Rae muttered into his sister's soft lips.

"You'll know regret in due time, dearest brother," Tae taunted, sliding a hand over his smooth buttocks. Then she snuck her fingertips beneath his tail and his hips jumped away from her mischievous fingers.

"Hey!"

"Hmm?" Tae purred innocently.

"No," Rae said flatly, glaring at his sister. She simpered in return.

"No, indeed. Depends on if you fuck me to my satisfaction, Rae." Rae grumbled and buried the fingers that had been teasing his sisters soaked lips to the last knuckle. Tae gasped and gripped his thigh.

"It's going to take me a long time to cum a third time. I hope you're ready."

"I think we've both been waiting long enough, Rae."

It was the last time they would make love before being forcefully separated, but it certainly was the longest session of the evening. The twins passed swiftly into unconsciousness, bodies tangled in damp embrace with nothing on their minds but each other. Precious little time existed for them before their alarm jarred them to their unwanted reality.

Moon's base of operations was a flurry of activity. All of Moon's operatives were preparing for the long trip to Earth's desolate, industrial wasteland of a moon. The twins only saw each other in furtive glimpses. They only had one, too short moment to softly kiss and enjoy the warmth of the other's embrace before they had to be aboard the shuttle.

A fully functioning, space capable shuttle was nearly unheard of. So little high technology still functioned, let alone as it was originally intended when it was built. Much had been lost and destroyed in the wars of old, generations ago. To go to the moon, that was an entirely differently level of improbability. Enough was known about what they were likely to find on the moon to make it a questionable, yet profitable expedition. Very few groups were powerful enough to bother attempting the trip. Moon was willing to risk their greatest assets for the technology and artifacts the owners hoped they would find.

The bay of the shuttle was tense and silent as the engines started and warmed. Lift off had everybody on edge. The shuttle had been flight tested, but it hadn't left the atmosphere. Fuel was too expensive and precious to do that. Rae and Tae sat side by side, strapped tight into their cushioned seats. They could only see the faces of the other operatives on the opposite wall over the stacks of supplies. Rae put his hand on Tae's thigh and she quickly took it, slipping her fingers easily between his. They smiled faintly to each other. Tae's grip tightened as the shuttle began to lift, jostling its occupants as it left solid ground.

Leaving the atmosphere was not pleasant. The crates shifted and the ties strained against their bulk. The twins were frowning at the experience, both frightened and elated. Not many could say they'd left Earth behind. Not many would want to say they had when the destination was the moon.

When the turbulence subsided, replaced by heady weightlessness, the pilot announced their obvious departure from all any of them had ever known. Everything would be uncharted territory. Nobody knew if they would ever get to experience the turbulence and excitement of coming home. Many of them never would.

Tae felt Rae's hand go limp and looked over at his closed eyes and still features. She was going to a different sector than he was. This was the last time she would see his face, knowing peace, until the mission was complete, or she would wind up dead and never gaze into his gentle eyes again. Not knowing if anybody else was watching, or even caring if they were, she brushed her fingers along his jaw and touched his lips. Her fingers lingered there and she smiled, resolutely deciding she would kiss them one last time before departing from her beloved brother.

The shuttle's engines filled the bay with their drone, it was the only sound she heard. Tae relaxed into her seat, taking one of Rae's limp hands and holding it in her lap. There was nothing else to do but join Rae in the safety of sleep. And hope she dreamed of the long, wonderful night they'd shared.

The last thing she wanted to think about was what awaited them on the moon.
