#1 of Hidden

Hey, everyone! I'm back!

Sorry about that long hiatus, I will write a journal at some point in the distant future (maybe or maybe not within the next week, depends on how much schoolwork I have [university, hooray!]) with more information as to why I was gone for so long! It was a rough year, to say the least.

Anyways, welcome to Hidden! This is a novel I had an idea about in January, and over the past few months, it's evolved into what it is right now. I have...I think thirteen chapters written out currently, so for the first thirteen weeks, uploads will be consistent, but beyond that, I cannot say at this point.

Lestri is a young man, just barely a legal adult, when something drastic changes his life. This book is written in hindsight, a chronicling of his adventures, and it would be wise not to ignore his story...

Roll the film!

I have something they don't. And that makes me a target.

I tell this tale now as a warning, a caution, to those of you like me. They are coming for us. I expect them to find us. And when they find us...they will kill us.

Our existence threatens them, and if they were to believe this, they would thus devote themselves to destroying us. Doubtless, many of them will read it and think it fiction or fantasy; those that do believe will be dismissed as conspirators and superstitious delusionists. Regardless, take care to hide as you do currently; I must tell this, and those that believe may come looking for us.

Do not take this warning lightly.

They are dangerous.

They could kill us.

My tale begins on a warm summer day, right at the end of August, in New Orleans, Louisiana...

Chapter 2: The Arrival

**Hey guys! Sorry about the pause between uploads, my family life has been getting pretty tense lately, that's all I'm gonna say about that. Thanks for your patience, hope you enjoy the chappy!** _Cold dawn rears its ugly head far too early, and my...

Chapter 1: The Flight

_The cool, crisp mountain air flows out from the treed cliffside, disturbing the leaves' peaceful rest,_ before whistling down the side of the cliff into the misty forest below. The cliffs, maroon in the setting sun, drop nearly vertically from the lip...

Prologue

_I gasp and sputter as my head breaks the surface of the icy, blue-black water. My wings are useless, this_ drenched, and I don't think I could have flown in this wind anyways. The riptide pulls me out and down, farther away from shore as my head...
