The loud crash of the table shattering could be heard as the orc looked up at the stranger in the very familiar armor of a Death Knight, the blade aiming at his throat before the civilized, yet cold voice spoke, "Where is she? Where is my daughter?" The orc swallowed as he looked into the fiery blue eyes in the helmet, speaking with his brutish accent, "I don't know. I only deliver and no more." The blade moved away from the throat as the knight turned to walk away, "You are useless. You are only good for ghouls to devour." With a motion to lift the blade, lightning began to hit the floor around them as a whole army of ghouls crawled out of the ground, "Kill." The scream of torment filled the air as the ghouls began to devour the orc alive.
In Ratchet, a stone's throw away from the inn, the airship was floating above the house owned by Gazlowe, the head honcho goblin, who wasn't exactly thrilled by the visitors. "Welcome to Ratchet, hope you ain't looking for trouble." the goblin spoke as Jane entered his house, "Nah, I ain't lookin' for any problems, Gaz. Just need to get me and my crew some supplies and only ye can provide it." Gazlowe nodded, "Of course, of course. And how are you planning to pay for it?" Jane reached into her captain's coat before retrieving a treasure map, "Here, a map to my treasure hidden at Algaz Island."
Gazlowe took the map and handed it to the goblin next to him, "Go and check it out." The goblin saluted and ran out the door, leaving Gazlowe alone with Jane and her crew, the goblin looking at Jane, "Okay, he is gone. What is it with that airship you stole? Are you trying to do piracy in the air now?" Jane looked at him, "It's a long story, but seein' as we gonna wait for ye second matey, I might as well spill it out for ye."
Jane gave Gazlowe the rundown that she had been arrested by the Horde in Highmountain when attempting to escape with a load of treasures from Neltharion's lair, been brought to Thunder Bluff and was gonna be judged by Horde and Alliance after she had been transported to Fort Forward, but that Shadisa had saved her and that they had found Xueyu there and saved her, and how Lusadecha then later joined them as he was an outcast. Gazlowe was speechless from hearing the story, but it had given them time as the second mate came back with four chests stuffed with gold and precious gems, enough to cover the costs for the supplies and then some, allowing for Jane and the others to leave by air towards the southeast, heading straight for their next adventure.
However, their pause had also given the knight a chance to journey towards the east and catch a glimpse of the airship leaving, the eyes focusing on it before returning to Gazlowe's house, in which the greedy goblin was busy counting the gold when the heavy greaves announced the arrival. Putting on his warm business smile, Gazlowe bowed, "Welcome to Ratchet. Hope you're looking for ARGH!"
The shock on Gazlowe's face was almost amusing to the knight, who calmly looked at him, "Hello there. You wouldn't happen to know where my daughter is?" Gazlowe knew the knight's race by merely the way they had spoken, "Calm down there, miss. I am seeing a lot of your kind. I saw one earlier today. Was here with two Worgen and a Tauren. The captain is a Worgen by the name of Rabid Jane. She is quite protective of the girl. She considers her to be important as they share the loss of their past." Gazlowe could have sworn he saw a smile on the knight's face before his feet touched the ground and the voice asked, "And they were in that flying whale?" Gazlowe understood that the knight wasn't familiar with airships, but nodded to them, "Yes, they are."
Back on the ship, Shadisa was doing some sparring with Xueyu, finding that despite the rather chubby body, Xueyu wasn't by any means slow as their daggers collided in midair, and Xueyu managed to deliver a kick straight into Shadisa's chest, pushing her back onto the deck while Jane applauded, "Ye sure got ye moves well, Xueyu. Ye gonna be a fine scallywag on my ship." Xueyu smiled up to Jane, "Thank you, captain." It was then that Lusadecha's voice rung out, "Captain! We got a bone gryphon with rider approaching from the stern!"
Jane looked behind them and as the Tauren had called out, there was a bone gryphon with rider approaching them from behind, looking at Shadisa quickly, "Shadisa, slow the engines." Shadisa looked at her friend, "Cap'n, shouldn't we..." Jane looked at her with a warning gaze, making Shadisa nod, "Yes, cap'n." It wasn't long after Shadisa disappeared below deck that the engine slowly died down and being over the water made Jane comfortable enough to dispose of any enemy without any honor.
With the ship being a sitting target, the knight approached quicker and when above the deck, the gryphon made a perfect landing before the knight dropped onto deck, just as Shadisa pulled Xueyu below deck to protect her. Jane pulled both of her swords from their sheaths as she approached the knight, "What do ye want, death knight?"
The calm, but cold voice spoke from the knight, "Are you Rabid Jane?" Jane readied herself, "Who's askin'?" The only response she got was the unknown knight unsheathing both blades and looking straight at her, "Who I am is not important right now. But I am here to retake what is mine." Jane wasn't slow with catching on and growled, "Ye ain't takin' her away!"
The lightly amused sigh sounded from within the helmet of the death knight before the voice spoke out, "I see. Then I got no choice. I will kill you and take her back." With the words spoken, the knight charged right in and swung both blades, fueling them with the frost that was gathering around them, making Jane realize that her home field advantage was now her disadvantage as the freezing cold surrounded them and the knight's voice bellowed out a line that made Jane fear for her life, "Can you feel the cold hand of death upon your heart?"
Jane felt the biting cold slowing her down, but her swords parried every single blow the death knight could perform, one of them even allowing her to let one of her swords go in midair as it flew upwards and pulling out her flintlock pistol to fire a round at point blank range to distract the death knight enough to allow her to quickly vanish out of sight, waiting for her chance to attack.
The plan was having a flaw that the death knight seemed to know as one of the blades was raised towards the sky and a stream of liquid ice hit both of them, breaking Jane's concentration for her to be disarmed as she found herself with the icy blades near the throat as the death knight looked at her, "Beg for mercy and I might take pity at you."
It had been Jane's opportunity as the other sword was coming down and with a smoke bomb at hand, she closed her eyes and delivered a point blank blinding smoke cloud in the face on her opponent, pushing the arms away and quickly slipping out to grab the sword coming down while the cold wind was now cutting her with the cold and Jane had no idea why, but she didn't see that look of a killer in knight's eyes.
Sheathing the blades, she looked at the death knight, "I demand an answer." The only sound she could hear and also the rest was a very soft song that made them calm, but Xueyu was beginning to tear up as she walked onto the deck of the ship where the death knight stood now and sang the familiar song known as The Traveller's Path, but Xueyu knew the voice and slowly approached them as Jane got in the way of her, "What are ye doin'?"
Xueyu looked at Jane before calmly pushing her aside, "I am knowing who this is, captain." Jane was about to stop her, but Shadisa grabbed Jane and shook her head before Xueyu stood in front of the death knight, who had stopped singing now, gently taking a hold of their helmet and lifted it off the head, the face below it making Xueyu realize that she was right, "Red Crane, Black Ox, Jade Serpent and White Tiger be blessed, it is you!"
The female Pandaren smiled and hugged Xueyu closely, "Yes, my wonderful Xueyu. It is me. I have come back again." Jane looked confused and so did Shadisa, but Xueyu looked at Lusadecha, "Hey, can you heal these two up?" The Tauren nodded before beginning with Jane, who whimpered as the healing began and looked at Xueyu, "Who is that then?" The Pandaren death knight looked at Jane and smiled softly, "My name is Chenying Deathpaw. And I am Xueyu's mother." The faces on Shadisa, Lusadecha and Jane said it all as they shouted, "Xueyu's mother?!"
The End.
