Protein Powder

Talcott tries a new protein powder recommended by a friend, and gets some interesting results.
Protein Powder
Talcott had been excited to try out the new protein powder he had just purchased. His buddy at the gym, a wolf named Keith, had recommended to him.
"Bro, you've got to try this stuff. The effects are insane!" He'd said, looking himself up and down in the mirror.
Talcott had to admit, Keith did look good. The wolf had gone from a well-built -but still small frame- to a massive hulk of a lupine within a few weeks, and he credited it all to his new powder.
"And where did you say you got it?" Talcott asked, pushing the weights up and lowering the metal as Keith spotted him.
"Just down at the supermarket. They had a few bottles near the back. I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't sold out at this point."
Talcott grunted and pushed the barbell back onto its holding notch. He wiped his paws off on the towel, and clapped Keith on the back.
"I'll have to check it out later. Heading to the store right now, actually."
"Right man, it's all good." Keith said, heading over to the rowing machine. "See you later."
The otter waved goodbye and headed to the showers. He changed quickly, and left the gym, saying goodbye to the wolf as he continued to work out.
Must be nice to be able to spend all day at the gym. He thought.
The grocery store was packed with soccer moms and screaming kids. Talcott leaned around an exhausted looking canine and grabbed a basket before heading to the back of the store, like Keith said.
There it was, hidden behind a large cardboard cut out of a giant pasta bottle for some reason. It was a small bottle, with a red lid. Talcott picked it up, and read the label.
"Badhhanna Protein Powder. Guarantee to grow you real fast." He said, reading the broken English out loud. The art was simple, and looked like it was drawn by a child. This was what had bulked Keith up so quickly? He'd better check.
Talcott took a quick picture of the label, and sent it to Keith while he continued shopping. The wolf replied a few minutes later, confirming that it was the right product.
He shrugged, and tossed the bottle in the basket. It was only $7. If it worked, great. If not, well, no big loss.
The otter check out of the store, and headed home. It was getting late, and he was tired from a long day at the gym, so he just ordered in for the night. Cantonese Steamed Fish, a favorite of his.
After dinner, he grabbed the bottle, and read the instructions on the back.
"Add two scoop to glass each night for big grow." It said in the same broken grammar as the front. That could be right. Most protein powders said to take it after workouts, not the night before.
Talcott shrugged, and followed the instructions, mixing two of the included scoops into a glass of milk. Might as well get some calcium at the same time, he figured. Talcott downed it quickly, and gagged. It tasted like stale chocolate. He quickly washed it down with a glass of water, and headed to his bedroom to get ready for bed.
His teeth brushed, and his fur all combed down for the night, Talcott switched his t-shirt out for a tank top, and looked in the mirror. Underneath the sleek layer of fur that all otters had, he had a good amount of definition.
He'd spent the past few years working out, but had never progressed past where he was. That same jealous of Keith grew as he looked himself up and down, feeling sad at his small frame. Unlike other otters, he wasn't content with the slim yet toned swimmer's build that so many of his kind had.
A faint movement on his left pectoral drew his attention. What was that a muscle twitch? That sometimes happened after a particularly intense workout, but not so many hours afterwards.
There it was again! Like a small bounce, just up and down. He leaned in to take a closer look.
Another twitch, and what feel like a jab on his right bicep. Talcott glanced down at it, and was amazed at what he saw.
The skin underneath his fur was beginning to pulse, and ripple. Talcott watch with mesmerized fascination as the muscle began to swell and grow. He looked up at the mirror and smiled. The rest of his body was following in suit!
It started with his pecs and arms. That made sense, the stomach was closest to that. The muscle in those areas began to swell and grow, slowly but surely. His arms became bulkier as the fur stretched and grew to accommodate its new mass.
His pecs grew larger still, fill out the front of his tank top in a way that filled him with happiness. It quickly became too tight, and he had to take it off, practically ripping it in the process. Crap, was he going to have to buy new clothes?
The shirt now removed; Talcott got a good look at his stomach. Where there had once been just a thin line going down the middle, and a smaller one near the top, now there was an expansive brick of muscle, rippling and twisting beneath his fur as he turned back and forth, getting a good look at the sides of his chest and his back.
Talcott's chest and arms stopped growing as the transformation finished, moving down to his legs and tail. The powder somehow knew exactly when to stop.
His legs began to swell, starting with his thighs. The muscle became solid, and started to fill out his shorts. That quickly finished, and it progressed down to his calves. They too grew, and he could see the definition the powder had granted him.
Talcott turned around, looking at his back and tail in the mirror. Everything, and he meant, everything, had filled out. His tail began to ripple and grow as well, swelling to match the rest of his body.
He stood there for a few minutes, just admiring his new form in the mirror. Keith hadn't lied, it really did work. Talcott had so much to show him tomorrow.
Crap, he'd have to buy new clothes, wouldn't he? At least his shorts hadn't ripped.
