Eight Lives Too Many: Part One
#95 of Quickies
Figured I'd write a story with everyone's new favorite wolf from the puss in boots movie. Was going to be longer but had a hard time writing this week so will have to split it into parts.
Lucky, a black cat has died several times already but because he keeps coming back feels like even Death can't stop him. Though when a white wolf in a black cloak appears out of nowhere, the feline suddenly feels fear as he becomes their meal.
A black cat woke up in his bed and rubbed his neck. It was really sore but nothing a good stretch wouldn't fix. Oh right, he realized he died again last night. The details of his death were fuzzy in his head but it didn't really matter, it wasn't like death was a permanent thing for him. If anything he laughed at the idea of actually dying from anything but old age.
The sun was setting when he got out of his house and his fox neighbor called out to him. "Your luck is going to run out at some point Lucky, you only have so many lives." He'd dismiss the comment with a wave of his paw, the cat feeling like he had nothing to fear. Things will always work out in the end since he is lucky after all and not even Death himself could stop him.
Lucky went straight to the tavern to grab something to eat and a pint of ale before they closed shop. Chicken sounded really good right now and he was really hungry. For all he knew it had been well over a day since he last ate if his previous death was that bad.
A storm was brewing by the time he reached the tavern and it was empty aside from the tavern's owner behind the bar. The old falcon had a displeased look on his face when Lucky walked in. "You need to stop showing up so late," they said as they slammed down a glass on the bar. "This is the last time I'm doing this for you, Lucky. I'll get you your usual but it is only going to be whatever scraps are left, I'm not cooking another tonight."
"Yes, yes I'll be more mindful of the time. Was just hard today since I was grieving my previous life," Lucky smirked a little when he said that, knowing just how full of shit he was. "Another one of my lives gone, you know? So tragic, who knows how many I even have left."
He'd take his seat at a table, staring at the ceiling while he waited for his food and glass of ale. Only looking back down when he heard it get set on the table. "I'm heading out to meet someone, I trust you'll lock up on your way out."
Lucky nodded in response to the old bird's words and turned his attention to the food while they walked out, leaving him alone in the tavern. The old bird wasn't kidding about getting the scraps, not even a whole chicken leg or anything. At least the ale was a proper full glass to wash down his meal with.
Rain was coming down hard outside by the time he was finishing his food and drink. Staring down into the glass when he felt a sudden chill go down his spine and an eerie whistle filled his ears. Looking up, he saw a white wolf several times his own size in a black cloak sitting across from him. His eyes soon meeting the wolf's own, their bright red eyes almost felt like they were piercing his very soul. Lucky was surprised he never heard them come inside, not only that but they were completely dry despite the rain.
"Hey, you're Lucky right? Been hearing a lot about you. You've died, I think it was five times now, right? Really taking advantage of that whole nine lives thing," the wolf said while staring directly into his eyes. Noticing the dark is gray fur on the wolf's face a bit more now, almost like a mask with its pattern.
"You've heard correctly though I'm not sure of the number myself, it isn't like death can touch me. Now if you don't mind, sitting somewhere else I'd like to finish my meal," Lucky said while trying to shoo away the much larger wolf.
The cat's paw was grabbed and when Lucky went to scratch at the wolf with the other it was grabbed as well. "Oh well you see I'm a bit hungry myself so I thought I'd put your immortality to the test." Lifting Lucky up out of his seat and above the table while he tried to squirm free, hissing at the wolf. "What it isn't like you can die right? Do put up a good fight on the way down however, it'll make it so much more fun."
Lucky's fur instantly stood on end when he saw the flash of metal in the corner of his eye. The wolf held a sickle in his free paw and brought it up to the feline. Panicking at the idea of dying to this wolf, thinking about the gruesome way this wolf might try to kill him. Kicking even more while he dangled in the wolf's grip and knocking over the glass of ale, hearing it shatter as it fell to the floor. The blade then went under his shirt, the cold dull edge pressing against the skin beneath his fur, sending a shiver through his body. Seconds later the sickle pulled away, cutting his shirt in the process. Then going down to his pants to do the same, leaving him naked in the wolf's grasp.
His heart was racing, feeling it pounding in his chest and he could hear it loudly in his ears. Aside from his first death, the others had felt so trivial and they hadn't scared him at all but now it was different. This wolf actually wanted to end him, destroy his body completely and make it so he couldn't come back. Lucky wasn't even sure himself if he could come back from such a thing.
A loud sniff could then be heard followed by a satisfied exhale. "I love the smell of fear," the wolf said moments before licking over his muzzle.
Lucky became even more frantic, he didn't want to die this way even if he did come back from it. The wolf's other paw then grasped his legs and tail making it nearly impossible to squirm free of his grasp. Feeling the wolf's hot breath on his paws and tail moments before his tongue slurped over them. He was going to be food for this wolf and there wasn't anything he could physically do to stop it from happening.
Well nothing he could do except beg and plead for him to stop. "Wait, please don't eat me. I'll do anything. My home? Yours. My gold? Also yours. Everything I own, just take it." The wolf seemed to show no interest in the cat's words however and Lucky felt the wolf's muzzle around his legs. That tongue slurped along his legs and tail while those sharp teeth nibbled on his thighs. Whining at the thought of the wolf biting down as those teeth gently pressed against the skin beneath his fur.
Getting pushed in even further when the muzzle opened again, feeling his paws and tail tip press against the entrance to the throat. Those teeth then brushed up against his crotch making the feline panicking even more as he kicked his legs about in the wolf's jaws. A loud gulp could then be heard, pulling him into the wolf's throat up to his knees. Feeling the tight, hot gullet of the wolf pulling on his body, eager to claim the meal it was presented with. He almost felt like he could relax in a way since his crotch was away from the teeth as it slurped by the tongue instead. Not that it calmed him all that much, his heart racing even faster as his mind was still filled with the thought of his imminent demise.
Another couple of swallows and he was in the throat up to his hips and he felt the wolf let go of his paws at that point. Most of his upper body was already in the wolf's jaws at that point however so there was little he could do. Regardless, Lucky would try to push against the muzzle to dislodge his body from the hungry throat. That tongue made things difficult for him however as it wrapped around an arm and pulled it in, getting that paw stuck in the wolf's throat alongside his hip.
With one more gulp, Lucky could feel his hips get dragged deeper into the throat, further pinning his one paw against his hip. His head was the. Pulled into the wolf's muzzle, filling his vision with his teeth as his free paw reached for freedom outside of it. That tongue curled back as it slurped over his face, further soaking him in saliva. Feeling himself slipping further down the throat, Lucky grabbed onto the only thing he could, one of the wolf's canine teeth.
The throat reverberated around him a little as the wolf seemed to chuckle at the attempt. Watching helplessly as the tongue prodded at his paw and small gulps tried to pull him in completely. It was at that moment Lucky saw his lives flashing before his eyes and the idea that this really might be the end creeped deeper into his thoughts. Then just like that one last powerful swallow was enough to break his grip and his world was sealed in the darkness of the throat.
Down Lucky went deeper into the wolf, before being deposited into the hungry wolf's stomach. Forced to curl up tightly in there while the wolf patted his stomach from the outside. Hearing the gurgle groans of the wolf's insides all around him while the stomach flexed and tightened, forcing him to curl up even more. A liquid then came pouring down atop of him as the wolf drank a pint of ale, filling most of what little space was left.
He could feel his body start to go numb once the digestion started to set in. Lucky felt like he should consider himself lucky that there wasn't any pain but at the same time he was still reduced to being food. It was hard to squirm with how tight it was inside of the stomach. Not that he thought it would help him at all, if anything he'd probably just make the wolf enjoy him more.
Sometime later Lucky would feel himself starting to pass out while the ale mixed with the stomach acids sloshed around him. His body already felt like it was melting into a goopy soup for the wolf to absorb. Lucky just had to hope he still really did have several more lives and that by some miracle he'd wake up in his bed. If he was even luckier this was all just one really bad dream.
The next morning Lucky woke up in his bed and screamed as he sat up, feeling over his body. He was in one piece and he was alive. Though he wasn't entirely sure if the wolf was real or not. Taking a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down, his heart still racing from the thought of what might have happened.
Feeling too lazy to get dressed right away, Lucky got out of his bed and walked into the living room. Looking around for something of his when he heard the whistle once more and froze up. His fur immediately stood on end once more as he slowly turned his head and saw a dark shadowy silhouette in the window. The wolf was real and wasn't done with him.
