A commission for https://twitter.com/JessTeef and https://twitter.com/kaisenso ! Jessie should know better than to mess with her partners magical items, who knows what spells meant to repair clothes will do to a living creature? (They'll turn her into a squishable toy, that's what they'll do.)

Day 0

The door to the apartment opened slowly, creaking from the unoiled hinges before abruptly falling in all the way as the room's owner stepped inside. She took a moment to reflect on the door, reminding herself that she'd need to get it properly oiled sometime soon. Still, it was at least well maintained enough for her to use as she slid inside, setting her bag onto the kitchen table before stretching out with a yawn.

Jessie was growing tired from a long day, between her office work seeing her get swamped and being the designated grocery buyer for this week. At least she'd managed to get a good deal on various tasty meats and fruits. She eagerly slid down onto a chair and just spent a moment relaxing, her sharp fangs gleaming in the cheap ceiling light as she stretched out her paws. She took a moment to adjust herself, tail pressing against the seat awkwardly before she fit it against the hole in the back, one meant for creatures with longer tails, but which served nicely for the sabertooth tiger's little nub as well.

Now finally able to relax, she pushed the chair towards her computer, quickly turning it on, checking in with her online friends. At least, the ones who were actually awake. Unfortunately for Jessie, as she was talking with them, she found herself getting a work email. Just what she needed, more things on her plate. At least it wasn't all bad news; while she was getting saddled with a few extra days, she was getting a few extra sick days she could claim. And in turn her mood was raised a little more when she noticed a new message from her partner.

"hey, i'm gonna be a little bit late" Eirìni texted, the snow leopard's icon in their messaging app designed to pair up with Jessie's. "road accident up ahead, need a detour."

Jessie quickly fired off a message back. "alright, stay safe! love you~" she said, blushing a little as her girlfriend sent a heart emote back that she in turn reacted to with her own. As she continued to recover some of her spent energy, Jessie soon got back up onto her feet, taking a quick glance at herself in the wall-mounted mirror as she wandered into Eirìni's section of the apartment. They were lucky to get a spacious one, and as the saber looked over the assortment of little magical supplies, neatly organized into a desk and a few shelves, it was clear as to why they needed the extra space.

She giggled as she sat down in the snep's chair, sliding Eiríni's soft, magical cloak onto her shoulders. "Look at me," she said to herself, "I'm a witch!" She smiled as she took the cloak off again, only to suddenly drop it to the floor when she tried to lift it up as a sharp, sudden pain ran through the pad on her finger. As she looked over her hand, however, she was confused and pleasantly surprised by the lack of any visible blood; picking up the cloak more carefully, she realized that there was a tear in the fabric that her girlfriend hadn't yet fixed up, the needle left resting in the seam. Sheepishly, she set the cloak back into place, only to hear the sound of the creaky door opening once more.

Quickly, she got back up, loosely tossing the needle onto the desk and returning to the main room in time to catch her partner's smiling muzzle and pull her into a hug. "Hey Sweetie~" she said, and she was met by a quick kiss and nuzzle from her partner. The two soon began to make small talk together, and by the time they were curling up into bed, Jessie was already starting to forget her injury. And yet, she couldn't help but find herself having a harder time sleeping than normal, a small soreness in the hip she was trying to lie on disturbing her attempts at sleep.

Day 1

Jessie looked down at her hip in the privacy of the bathroom, taking advantage of how this was the time she would normally shower anyways. In retrospect there was a good reason that Eiríni had told her to not touch her stuff without checking first, although as Jessie reached down to feel the new growth, she was still fairly confused. A small tag was growing from her skin, seamlessly settled in among her blue fur; it was clearly made of some artificial nylon fabric, but at the same time she could feel it whenever she touched it.

As the water ran down over her body, she took the time to consider her options. She could ask Eiríni for help, but that would mean admitting that she'd been toying around with her stuff. It was just a tag; she could probably find some way to pull it off, or make it turn back into fur, or something.

Actually fitting her pants and underwear over the tag was a little uncomfortable, unfortunately. Her tag was surprisingly sensitive, and it took a little finesse to properly press it flat against her skin so she could properly conceal it. Luckily it was high enough that all but her shortest of shorts would cover it, although as she looked over herself in the mirror, scanning her blue fur and red spots for any other changes, she realized that walking around with just underwear, or swimsuits, would expose her tag. At least for now, nothing else was different.

Work was slow, despite the large amount of work. Her new tag would get uncomfortable again if it was pressed in place too long, and so Jessie found herself distracted by having to adjust it periodically, turning it back and forth, once again exploiting a bathroom break to let it simply hang loose. She looked at the blank fabric loop with irritation, running a finger along where it connected; for a brief moment, she thought the fur just at the base felt different, slightly softer, but she dismissed it as she returned to her dull tasks of processing documents and making sure the company servers were still running.

Day 3

Eiríni looked over her desk in confusion. She'd been busy for the past few days, which had left her repair job for her cloak to be put on hold. It wasn't like she'd normally need to wear it anyways, she wasn't doing magical things all the time, but now, with the cloak lying in a pile on the floor, she wondered if she put off repairing it for too long.

She knelt down, bushy tail swaying behind her as she took the soft, bluish-gray fabric back up. She shook it out for a bit, careful to hold it far enough away from herself that she wouldn't accidentally poke any of her bare fur with the needle; it was already painful enough, but when dealing with enchanted, magical fabrics, she found it best to likewise use magically enhanced needles, and she wasn't confident that the spell on it to help restore damaged fabric wouldn't have unwanted effects on her.

And yet, as she waved her cloak around, there was no needle falling from it, no noise of metal on tile, no sudden jolt of pain. She was confused even more by this, until she looked at the desk and saw the needle laying there, bare on the wood, which wasn't where she'd put it. She picked it up, examining it between her paw pads; the needle itself seemed fine, but there were only two explanations for why it was there. Either it slipped out of the cloak when it fell, or...

In the other room, Jessie looked over her shoulder as she searched for magical antidotes online. She was thankful in that moment to how Eiríni had shown her reliable websites to check up on magic; unfortunately for her, all the anti-curse stuff she found either was inapplicable to her case, too difficult for her to do without asking for help, or simply really expensive. Still, she did her best to study, just in case she could undo the change on her own.

Her fur was growing softer now, with a larger patch around the tag, but with additional ones growing in all over the saber's body. Fur was matting down, shrinking, turning into more polyester; her body was extra soft and squishy in those areas, although she still had her bones, still needed things like food and water. She was even growing a pair of seams, along her thigh and the opposite shoulder; a quick brush of fur helped cover them, at least, although she was still only able to do so much to cover them up close. A few of her coworkers had asked her if she was doing something odd with her fur at work, which was now leading her to consider looking into glamour spells to compensate.

Eiríni stepping into the room caught Jessie off guard for a moment, although she quickly recovered her composure as she sat upright. One paw drifted to retighten her belt, her pants feeling slightly looser than they should.

"Hey, Jessie..." Eiríni asked, with a soft yet concerned smile on her muzzle, "did you happen to see when my cloak fell on the ground?"

A small flash of fear briefly ran through her head, before Jessie pushed it aside. She was fine; she could improvise a lie, or at least a half-truth quickly. "No, not really." she said, "I left it untouched like you asked, didn't even go inside."

Eiríni's eyes narrowed for a moment, but she relented. "Ah, alright. I'll get back to my sewing, then." she said, returning to her private room. Jessie let out a quiet sigh of relief that her partner fell for the lie. Meanwhile, Eiríni let out her own soft sigh of frustration, having immediately seen through it. Still, as she settled onto her seat, sliding the needle back into position, she was already thinking of ways to get Jessie back for this.

Day 5

Jessie fumbled her way into her shirt, finding it much looser on her body. She'd shrunk, only a little, but enough that it was growing more difficult to properly dress herself. Her mouth was feeling dryer, and so she took another drink of water to try and soothe herself. She was starting to get an idea of just what was going on, but she was still doing her best to pass herself off as normal, to Eiríni, her coworkers, and her neighbors.

Yesterday, one of the folk living in the apartment above hers had noticed the little seam on her shoulder after she forgot to cover it up, the soft patch that was now starting to stand out from her normal fur. At the time she passed it off as just having stained her fur by accident, before retreating back inside; now she was finding herself forced to wear a long sleeved shirt to compensate for it, but in turn she had to roll the sleeves up to avoid covering her arms.

Eiríni watched Jessie from the other side of the room, her purple eyes taking in her struggling. She let out a small cough, reminding her partner of her presence. "Are you sure you're alright, Jessie?" she asked, and the saber nodded.

"Yeah, just a little off." she replied, only for Eiríni to shake her head.

"Look, I know you messed with my cloak."

Jessie froze up for a moment, looking at Eiríni. Still, she put on a small smile, trying to decide whether to confess or attempt to keep the lie going. After a moment, the decision was made for her; standing up, her not yet properly tightened pants started to slip down to her thighs, exposing the tag in all its glory. Jessie swore that the small fabric had grown, although given her own shrinking she guessed that it was likely the opposite and the tag was staying the same size. Eiríni in turn leaned forward, squinting her eyes as she watched Jessie fumbling around.

"Alright, so I may have put it on for a joke." Jessie admitted, only for Eiríni to giggle a little as she watched. "What's so funny?" she asked.

"Is that a tag?" she asked, and Jessie reluctantly nodded again. Soon Eiríni was on her hands and knees, taking a closer look at the tag. She thought she saw some faint text, but it was too light to make out against the white of the fabric. Experimentally, she ran her hand along it, watching Jessie shiver a little at the touch, feeling the soft seam, noting how her thigh pressed in further than it normally would. "Oh, you got poked by my needle, didn't you?" she asked.

"Yeah... I probably should've checked it better, huh?" Jessie said, only for Eiríni to blush a little herself.

"In fairness, I probably should have told you that I wasn't done fixing my cloak." she replied. "I can fix this, but the supplies I need won't be able to come in for... about a month, I think?" she said. Eiríni was a better liar than Jessie; now that she knew both the cause and effect a reversal of the magic that was currently interpreting Jessie as a damaged toy would be easy. The hardest part would be getting her partner to accept it on a subconscious level, since both of them enjoyed the prospect of transformative spells. But Jessie didn't know that, and she let out a deep breath.

"Well, I hope you don't mind helping me around the house, then." she said, only to be met with a quick kiss on the cheek from Eiríni.

"Hehe, I'll gladly help~"

Day 9

When Jessie woke up on the weekend, she found something pressing against her back in bed. For a brief moment she feared that she'd somehow worn out the mattress enough for it to wear, but when she moved the object moved with her, pressing against her spine until she was able to lift her back up from the bed entirely. She reached around blindly, attempting to figure out what the issue was before she caught a small, hard ring, but one which she could still faintly feel.

It was strange, but not too alien; it was akin to the sensation of touching her claws, or when Eiríni would run a hand along the two thick fangs that were always jutting from her mouth. A thick cord seemed to connect it to her, and she was briefly amazed by how quickly it had grown overnight, going from a small rough patch to a full pull string. By the time Jessie was twisting her neck in a vain attempt to see it directly, Eiríni was getting out of bed herself, giggling as she looked at her partner's exploration.

"Good morning~" she teased, extending a hand to take hold of the ring herself. It somehow felt different for her new string to be held by someone else instead of Jessie herself, but it was hard to articulate.

"Good morning..." Jessie replied, her voice slightly scratchier than it usually was. "This, ah, wasn't exactly the best to wake up to." Her chest rumbled slightly when she spoke, and the string quivered as Eiríni held onto it.

"I don't know, I'd say it looks cute!" Eiríni said, before placing her free paw onto Jessie's shoulder. Carefully, she pulled on it, watching the cable slowly extend from her back. The area surrounding it was soft and plush, with the muscles already fading into stuffing; neither of them were keen on figuring out how the new voicebox would really interact with whatever portions of her weren't yet plush.

When Jessie tried to object, telling her girlfriend about how she had to deal with three of her four sides having something uncomfortable to sleep on, she couldn't. She could still mouth her mouth and tongue, but her voice was noticeably weakened even though her breathing was still normal. When Eiríni noticed, she released the string in alarm, only to start smiling and laughing when Jessie found her voice coming directly from her chest involuntarily.

"I'm the softest Saber!" she said, even as she covered her mouth. Her partner's smile was only slightly mocking, mostly conveying a playful amusement at her predicament.

"Oh my gods, you have a voicebox!" she exclaimed. "That's so cute~" Jessie just weakly shook her head, still unable to get a proper look at the white plastic that had returned to resting against her fabric.

"Please don't hold it out like that again," she said, only to soon give into temptation and pull it herself. Her canned clip of "Hug me!" was met by her partner doing exactly that, Jessie soon nuzzling into the thick mane of fur around her chest and neck.

Day 13

Jessie pulled herself onto her computer chair, careful to not snag her clothes on anything. She only had a shirt on, the oversized fabric serviceable as a dress thanks to her slow and steady shrinking. As she turned in the seat she leaned forward toward the keyboard, pulled nearly to the edge of the desk. She was now noticeably smaller than an adult would usually be, but her frame was still clearly mature for the most part. She felt oddly like she put on weight, her body feeling a bit chunkier than it had before, but she knew objectively that was just the effects of being literally stuffed combined with how scraps of fabric were much less strong than her old muscles were.

Eiríni had concluded, based on the various changes and effects happening to Jessie, that she was turning into a plush toy. This wasn't anything she was opposed to in itself, but it was... awkward for her social life. She was at least able to leverage her coworkers concerns about her off-looking fur and waning strength to get permission to switch to working from home, although as she tried to log into the company website to get her shift started she found herself frustrated by the password being rejected.

Well, she could take a little bit of extra time before her shift properly started. She opened a new tab in her browser, searching for some music to play, only to find the website url jumbled as she typed. She was a little confused by the issue, before she realized what the real problem was.

She took a closer look at her fingers, examining the dark fur that contrasted the white that covered the rest of her hands. They were growing shorter, stubbier, and weaker as a result of her changes; her face was still mostly unaffected, but her other extremities were undergoing similar effects. Her tail was now a solid chunk of stuffing and fabric, her feet smaller and harder to balance properly on. She'd already had a few incidents with tripping on her own feet now. Even one of her ears was growing softer, which came with it staying still even as the other flicked back in irritation.

She flexed her fingers on her left paw, then the right one. They moved in sync, but she noticed some were staying closer together than before. She tried pulling them apart, moving them up and down independently, but found herself unable to, as the soft fabric that was spreading was starting to stitch them together. She idly tried pressing two digits closer together instead, and experienced the odd sensation of not feeling any distinction between them at all, finding them functioning closer to bird wings or marine flippers. It was something she'd have to ask some of her friends about, once Eiríni finally got the reversal potion prepared.

Jessie found herself just waiting for a few minutes, using the mouse to simply scroll through to a video to watch in the meantime. As she just sat in front of the computer, she tried exploring the options, looking for a way to turn on a mouse controlled keyboard, but Eiríni stepped back inside by then, carrying a mix of her own groceries and some supplies for the reversal potion. Jessie waved her over before speaking; her vocal chords were weakening, so she was left speaking in a whisper. "Hey dear, can you help me with the keyboard?"

Eiríni nodded, picking Jessie up with both arms. Her muscles strained a little; Jessie was still fairly large, and while she was slowly having her insides turn to bits of loose fabric and polyester filling, the process was slow enough to still leave her quite heavy. But not heavy enough to prevent the snep from lifting her up and settling her onto her lap, smiling as she looked down at Jessie's face, seeing how her eyes were growing larger compared to her head. One arm held Jessie in place against Eiríni's chest, while the other gravitated to the keyboard. "Alright, what do you need me to type?" she asked.

Jessie spent the work day relaying commands to Eiríni to type, helping ensure the company site would still function. Of course, having to work in this way - with Jessie correcting Eiríni any time she made a mistake, and Eiríni only being able to use one hand at times to hold Jessie in place - was quite slow, and by the time Jessie's shift ended they'd noticeably failed to do everything that her boss had set out for her to do.

"Jessie, do you have any sick days, vacation days, that sort of stuff?" Eiríni asked. She lifted the small cat up onto the table, ignoring her weak attempts at kicking out of her grip.

"I do, yeah... why?" Jessie asked, before holding up one of her paws, the fingers entirely stuck to each other now despite not yet being fully fused. "Oh, right..."

"Yeah, I can't work my job and help you do yours at the same time." Eiríni said, before giggling a little bit. "And besides, you're a cute plushie, right? And toys don't work!"

Jessie tried to protest, but before she could say anything Erini was pulling a marker out from a drawer, giggling as she looked at the tag. It was still the same size as ever; "Jessie" was faintly visible written on the fabric, but it was still lacking in full decoration, splashes of blue and red matching her fur printed on it. Eiríni looked it over, flipping it to a still blank side, and wrote her name onto it, giggling at the sight of her partner squirming in place. "There," she said, "now you're marked as my toy, and that means I can dictate that you will use your days off until I can turn you back."

Jessie nodded, turning back around as it looked down at the tag. It took a moment to realize that it was starting to think of itself as more of an "it" than a "she"; it could only guess that, with Eiríni having now definitively claimed herself as its owner, it was having an effect on the changes. Much like how Eiríni said that, because things like this were something it often fantasized about, the magic was influenced towards her specific new form.

Still, being a cute stuffed toy, owned by its girlfriend, didn't seem too bad.

Day 17

Jessie woke up cradled in Eiríni's arms. This wasn't the most uncommon occurrence in general for the couple, but the amount of times they'd cuddled in bed had grown, and the ratio of Jessie vs Eiríni being the small spoon had changed, thanks to the fact that Jessie was now about half the size of its partner and mostly made of fabric. It gave a few gentle baps to Eiríni's chest and muzzle to wake her up, before pulling on its drawstring to call out.

"I love you!" it said, which was enough for her eyes to slowly open as she kissed it on the forehead. Jessie wiggled happily, pulling itself a bit closer to her, its bare fur pressing against her sleepwear. By now they'd simply not bothered clothing it; already it had a smoother chest, nipples buried into soft fluff, and its crotch was only a few days away from the same fate.

"Good morning, sweetie." she replied, giggling a little at the inappropriate but affectionate statement. She gave it a small kiss on the snout, marveling at how the nostrils were almost entirely gone now, Jessie's chest only barely moving with its breaths even as it was still mostly responsive. Unfortunately, she also found the small bits of plastic making up its fangs, and the soft polymer around it, felt a bit off to her. "Today's a day off for me, so how about I give you lots of cuddles later?" she asked, only to lift it up and set it onto the side of the bed before it could respond.

When she stood up to prepare breakfast for herself, Jessie tried to follow after her, although it slipped and fell onto its face trying to get off the bed. Eiríni didn't even notice; the noise of the door being opened overpowered the much softer sound of it landing on the carpet, and before Jessie could properly follow after its partner the door was shut again. Try as it might, it couldn't grip the handle properly, and even if it could've the rough nature of the hinges, still not properly oiled, would preclude something of its strength from following.

Defeated, Jessie decided to return to the bed, exploiting a pile of unsorted books left nearby. If it couldn't directly follow Eiríni to the other room, it could at least stay up on the soft bed; after all, that was where she'd left it. It only took a few minutes of waiting before she returned, thankfully, taking Jessie and carting her back out to seat her by their kitchen table. Their breakfast was a simple one, made using leftovers, but it was large. Too large for Jessie, in fact, as it had naturally lost any appetite with the loss of its stomach.

"Oh, sorry," Eiríni said, watching it trying to pick the plate up to push it back. "not used to cooking for one yet." Jessie simply tried to pout, although with how much of its mouth was being forced into a simple smile it wasn't terribly effective. Trying to handle the food proved to be a small mistake for it; without thumbs it wound up spilling food onto itself, which was met with an exaggerated sigh from Eiríni, who took a small break in eating her own food. "Well, I was thinking of washing you anyways." she said, looking at the growing stain on the front of the toy.

Once Eiríni finished her meal, she picked Jessie back up, pulling out a plastic bin and quickly tossing out the stuff she had stored inside. Once it was filled up, resting in the shower, she simply tossed Jessie inside, after confirming its nostrils were completely sealed by now as the changes progressed. "Keep your mouth closed, if you can." she said, and Jessie nodded along. It felt weirdly heavy like this, even heavier than it did as an anthro; its small size and declining mobility meant that soaked through like this, it was able to be weighed down even more by the water filling its stuffing.

Eiríni giggled, mixing some sort of detergent into the water and stirring it around. In turn, she began to run a soft cloth against Jessie's softer skin, slowly working off any and all external stains. She periodically would switch to taking Jessie and dunking it in and out of the water, squeezing it tightly. By now almost all of its internal skeleton was gone, and Eiríni knew that every second more was fading into just simple fabric.

For Jessie, as alien as it was to be squeezed and compressed like this, it was nice in a way. Being a toy meant that it took pleasure from being hugged and cuddled, it found, and this was close enough to trigger the same pleasure response in its brain, or at least whatever passed for one in this state. Its new plush skin was roughly equally sensitive on all areas; it found itself unable to close its eyes, but they were themselves just turning into a thicker and coarser fabric, stitched into its face. Eventually, Eiríni drained the bin again, squeezing it a bit more before leaving it to dry.

Throughout all of this, her name still remained on its tag. The label was now clearly reading "Jessie" on one side, only missing a few bits of color and part of the outline, its owner's name neatly recorded on the other half. It debated trying to get up, to hug her, but it settled for pulling on its string again.

"Let's cuddle together!"

Day 25

Eiríni pulled the apartment door open, the landlord having finally gotten around to properly oiling it. He looked into the room, noticing how the snep was the only one in the room, but unable to explore further without physically showing her aside. And given what had happened the last time he tried that, he decided it was best not to. "So, Jessie's still sick?" he asked her, with some concern on his face.

"Yeah, i-she's just in bed." Eiríni said, a statement that wasn't strictly untrue. "She'll be fine, it just takes some time to get over it."

"Well, if you say so." he said, only partially convinced. He sniffed the air, catching the familiar scent of her work. "Are you brewing potions again? Please wipe up any spills before they leak this time." he told her, before turning around to afford her privacy once more. Muttered a little under her breath about how that incident wasn't her fault, that she couldn't stop that particular potion from leaking through the flooring, but she saved it for now. She had more important things to worry about while she waited for the animacy restoring potion to finish cooking.

Stepping inside her bedroom, she smiled as she looked at Jessie. There was nothing organic left in it, unless the plastic maybe being recycled counted; it was slightly smaller than her torso, with shortened, stubby limbs ending in soft nubs. All of its patterns still remained on the surface, at least; its distinct fangs were now a soft plastic that wouldn't disturb her if she cuddled it in her sleep, its eyes and mouth locked in a happy smile. In a matter of moments, Eiríni had stripped naked, and brought the plush up against her bare breasts as she hugged it close.

"Soon, dear, you can turn back to normal." she told it. It didn't respond, of course; while still aware, it couldn't do anything other than be soft and cute and squishable like this. At least it enjoyed it, even if the machine wash the other day was more than a little disorienting. Although, it was comfortable in a way, especially when it got squeezed out and left to dry in the warm sunlight afterward.

Eiríni giggled to herself, remembering what she needed to do for it to talk. With another pull on the drawstring, she made the voicebox play out "I wanna cuddle you forever!" She smiled, holding up the soft toy and kissing it, before settling it back onto the couch next to her, one paw idly running up its side and hitting the tag, now fully formed complete with legal information, which was still covered up by her own name.

"Aw, how sweet," she teased it, "although I think I'd rather have a partner who can cuddle back at least some of the time~" she said. "Plus there's all your other friends, and your job... I can't pay the rent by myself forever." she added. "Still, no reason we can't find a way to streamline this, hey?" she asked, holding Jessie up above her head. "Maybe even take turns as the toy!"

In its polyfill-flooded brain, Jessie thought over the idea. It sounded perfect to it just as it did to her, and as its owner began to lie down, holding it tightly against her chest, it decided that it would happily turn itself into her cute plush again in the future.

And as it thought a bit more to itself, it began to mull over the idea of getting them both turned into a matching pair of toys. That'd be a perfect romantic evening, assuming they could get turned back. Or get an owner as sweet as Eiríni was to Jessie.

For now, however, it simply smiled internally, happy to be a good toy for its owner.
