Kevin was still seeing that swinging pocketwatch when he was asked to wake up. His eyes had been following it left and right, back and forth for quite some time now, even though his hazy mind wasn't entirely sure for how long. The otter had sort of blacked out after a while, which was probably the thing that was supposed to happen.

When his eyelids lifted slowly but steadily, it took him a while to get used to the light in the room again. Winter's face was close to his, a playful gleam in his eyes. The rabbit seemed to be keeping the pocketwatch away, at least for now.

"Uh... hi," was all Kevin managed to say. Thoughts were still coming slowly to his mind.

"Hello again, sleepyhead," Winter greeted him. "Having a good time?"

"Yeaaah... That was, um, very relaxing," the otter admitted. He tried to come up with words that were more descriptive of the state he'd just experienced, but it was hard to find a good way to verbalize it.

"That sounds nice. Why don't you just go back to it then, hmm?" the rabbit asked, cupping Kevin's chin with one paw and then- "Sleep now. Just like that."

The word was accompanied by a loud snap. If Kevin's head hadn't been held by Winter, his relaxed neck would have allowed it to roll freely on his chest. Fortunately for him, the rabbit had taken care of that. The otter let out a soft sigh, and just when he was getting used to being nicely back under again, new words were whispered into his ear.

"... and wake up for me. Up and up, sleepyhead. Come on."

This time, his eyelids took a bit longer to open.

"W... what..." the otter asked, a bit confused. His slightly unfocused gaze stared into Winter's eyes. The rabbit was smiling.

"It's okay. Just go to sleep again."

The snap was closer to his sensitive ears this time and he let out a gentle squeak. Kevin didn't even have time to register the fact that he'd briefly been awake before dropping under, twice as hard. The otter's body grew heavy, heavier - even heavier as Winter held him in his arms, the warmth of his body and the tone of his gentle words the only thing he really perceived.

He might have been woken up once or twice, dropped like a rock several times in a row. Kevin didn't know.

The otter's mind only regained the agreed small amount of awareness when he realized he was acting on suggestions Winter had asked him to follow. By then, he'd been stroking the rabbit's fur for a while - his soft, warm coat of snow-white fur immensely pleasant to feel under his fingertips, over and over.

It was impossible to know for how long Kevin had been caressing those extremely fluffy ears, or how many times he'd been asked to state his purpose - wait, he had one of those? - which he knew was "cuddle with the rabbit, be soft, be peaceful", but only because he'd been repeating it on loop - wait, he had? - for a while now.

Anytime the 's' sound in the word 'peaceful' came, his tongue got somewhat stuck in it, and the fact that it lingered there for a second made him feel floaty and heavily mind-altered. Knowing that he couldn't speak properly, that he couldn't even think properly even if he somehow managed to remain aware of what was going on, was so immensely hot that the otter felt his cheeks practically burning by then.

And still, everything felt so good that he couldn't stop nuzzling the rabbit's velvety shoulder, stroking his chest, gently rubbing his whole body against the warm, soft fur as he drifted and swirled in that deep mindstate, so completely out of it that he could have stayed there for hours...

... and that was when the doorbell rang.

The loud sound pierced through the mists of trance immediately, gently rescuing Kevin from the depths of his trance. It felt like he was lifted from a much deeper place than he'd thought possible, given that he'd thought he was 'aware', and he opened his eyes immediately, awake and alert this time.

Winter was looking at him, a bit surprised. Kevin guessed the rabbit had been about to wake him up from the trance. It was a good thing he hadn't even needed to do it.

"Oh, wait," he said, his tongue completely functional again. "That must be the pizza we ordered. Give me a second and I'll answer that."

"Oh! Right. Yeah, I had completely forgotten about the pizza," Winter answered, chuckling a bit. "Sorry. You were making me feel too comfy for my own good."

"I could say the same," Kevin replied, smiling and heading to the door.

The otter returned a few seconds later carrying a large steamy pizza in his arms. He left it on the table near the sofa they'd been lounging on. It was funny how the mind worked - Kevin had absolutely forgotten they'd been hanging out in the living room up until that moment.

"Shall we eat it now and continue with the session later?" the otter asked, sitting close to the rabbit again. "I mean, I was really enjoying that, but there's something really sad about eating cold pizza."

A playful gleam appeared in Winter's eyes - one that Kevin was used to seeing from time to time by now. It almost definitely meant the rabbit had just had an idea.

"You know, there's a very simple solution for that."

"What? Eating while hypnotized?" the otter asked, chuckling. It took him a few seconds to realize Winter was completely serious. "Wait, you mean it?"

"Obviously. You don't need your mind to chew, do you?"

Kevin felt his cheeks getting warm again.

"I suppose I don't."

"Then, why choose? I can put you deep into trance again. And you can still have your pizza while it's hot," the rabbit suggested with a wide grin. "What's not to like?"

Kevin held his friend's gaze for a few seconds, considering the idea. He would have never thought about eating while in trance, but if Winter said it was safe, then he completely trusted him. He nodded slowly.

Delighted, the rabbit picked up the pocketwatch he'd put in his pocket and let it dangle in front of Kevin's eyes, which were immediately drawn to the silver glimmer. The otter's mind sank a step just from watching it hang from the chain, right in front of his face. The familiar feelings of being completely spaced out began swirling in his chest - and then it climbed all the way up to the empty space behind his eyes.

"Let's go back to it then, shall we?" Winter whispered, still smiling.

And he flicked his wrist.
